when i saw goose’s post that was like “you rly think ragatha isn’t gonna get development in the final two episodes?”(paraphrasing here cuz i don’t remember it word-for-word) a while ago, my instant reaction was, “well, you haven’t given me much reason to believe that she will, so i think it’s fair to believe that there’s a fair chance she won’t.”

Honestly, I think Queenie is better POC representation then Gangl and Zooble
Don't get me wrong, I know it is a problem she not exists like real character just white man's dead wife with a five second appearance in flashback.
But there is one thing that other has not. Queenie is actually POC-coded. She is black chess figure with brown eyes. In her short appearance we can understand Queenie is Black at the first view. It works very cool in contrast with Kinger.
So why we can't see this in Zooble and Gangle designs. I mean comedy and tragedy masks is an obvious reference to european theatre. And it's not about designs, different cultures manifest themselves in small details such as eating habits, routine stuff, nuances in their philosophy just show it! What's the point of representation if we can't see it until the last moment. I think, adventure they offered in e5 was a good place to show it.
And that with their VAs? Queenie's VA is Black as her, why Zooble's and Gangle's is white.
So I suppose glitch just made two the most secondary characters in main cast non-white after the recent scandal to look more inclusive.
So... can we talk about caine's song in ep8. I mean it's not done very well.
At first we see Caine's monologue in his cabinet. He says that he doesn't understand humans, they are ungrateful and he's evil now.
Next Caine goes to circus people ( how we call them btw) and we have another monologue then he says that humans are ungrateful and he's evil now.
And only then Caine start song. And he sings that he's evil now. and a bit about humans are ungrateful
So need i tell you there are a lot of recurring information in this. It's a basic song's function to reduce excess monologues. Also it's a problem that the most emotional moment occurs during the first monologue rather than song. So, this song has no emotional and narrative significance.
It would make more sense if the monologues were part of the song.

and from where it started:

People describe Pomni as some kind of funny and groovy girl, but has she shown her love of thrills at least once except episode 6?
She studies the abandoned ones, but has she ever explored the expanses of the circus or asked questions about how the circus works?
As far as I understand, her life was pretty boring, which prompted her to become a blogger.
Pomni tells Caine that she likes calm and quiet adventures, but suddenly in episode 6 it turns out that she likes to party, and then this trait disappears again and I really doubt that time will be given to this in the finale. It feels like the only reason it was introduced at all was because the plot needed to somehow bring her closer to Jax.
What i don't like in tadc how it try to show conflicts that are part of archetype as thing that going beyond this archetype.
Like how it works in show: we have Jax and his archetype is a trickster, he annoys everyone and does nasty things. But later we find out his friends died. And look he has a conflict as a real humans!
But in real Jax's archetype is "asshole with sad backstory". From the first ep it was obvious he has sad backstory. We all knew that. It's part of archetype.

if you think for even just a second how fucking crazy bonkers it is that women are so frequently kept from being protagonists or important or fully realized characters when its like. That is literally 50% of the world population. Half of all people (more or less. hopefully more as time marches on!) are women. And you look at media and think about how many protagonists are men and their best friends are men and the ensemble cast is 80-100% men and the fandoms are about men and the romances are about men. well. YOU GO INSANE
No, seriously, why not give the plot role of Scratch to Queenie? It's such a cool idea. Kinger noted Scratch's sharp mind and out-of-the-box thinking, but we don't know anything about his wife. Queenie is the same developer of Caine as Kinger, so why not expand her role and significance for the plot other than being Kinger's dead wife, whom he misses very much.
At what point do myth and fairy tale “retellings” become so expected that actually playing the story completely straight becomes unexpected because I feel like we’ve been teetering on the edge of that precipice for years now
