when dayeon first stepped foot into hydra, she wasnโt completely surprised by the competitive nature of the place. it was hard not have that mindset when it was clear that not everybody would be able to debut. she didnโt blame the other trainees at all. however, she was somewhat of a team player. while people may think she was being too naive, dayeon was convinced that even executives would want people who could work well with others. groups sold well because of chemistry, didnโt they? what group would have chemistry if everybody was biting at each otherโs heads?ย which is why sheโs trying her best to keep a cool head on and help out her teammates instead of stomping all over them. the leader position was for this evaluation only, but she took it quite seriously. and although dayeon liked to see the best in every situation, even she could tell that eiji wasnโt on the same page as her. the sarcasm dripping from her words was painfully obvious, and she was stuck in a limbo.ย but she decided to stick to her nature of talking things out, encouraging her groupmates so they could all put on a stellar performance as that would benefit all of them.ย โwell, did you have anything you wanted to go over? a particular part that you may be struggling with or donโt think weโre in sync during?โ perhaps sheโd be a little more active if they went with a part she wanted.
eiji was by no means a team player. she was competitive by nature. everything she did, she did to win. and at this point in her training sheโs put too much on the line and too much effort into training to not debut. it wasnโt an option for her. failure wasnโt an option for her. which is why some trainees might not like her. and she was okay with this. sometimes feelings get hurt. and she learned early on that it was better for her to hurt others before they hurt her. some may disagree with this. she had a hard time caring about how others viewed her. but she wasnโt used to people like dayeon. those who felt that sometimes being competitive didnโt always give you an edge. teamwork was always a positive. in her experience this isnโt the case.
she could tell that dayeon was trying to be cordial. trying to be the bigger person. and it kind of irritated her. grated on her nerves for a reason she couldnโt explain. honestly she had no reason to be irritated or argue with the other trainee who was just trying to make it through evaluations like everyone else.
she let out a sigh at her question. โnot really. i guess the chorus is fine.โ she said giving in. โbut I also think a few run throughs of the full choreo may give us more parts that could use work.โ
