I feel like a throuple with Reth and Jel works really well, because there is already canonically something going on there between them, but they need a third person to bridge that gap. They may never get there on their own. Jel is too subtle and coy and restrained when it comes to starting things, and (maybe veering a little more into headcanon territory) I think he sort of wants to be pursued/courted rather than the one in the more dominant role. Meanwhile, Reth is not making moves on anyone because he just assumes no one likes him. Neither one of these men is going to take the first step. They both need someone else to do it, and to then smush the two of them together too.
