Hi! It’s been a while since I last posted, my journey through VGen and college kept me busy, but I was really looking forward to coming back!

Here’s a drawing I made for a great art collaboration that I’m proud to have been a part of (even if I was late submitting it, sorry D:). I thought this drawing of Gwen would be a great way to revisit part of my AU as well, so here’s a little more info!

As I mentioned in my previous post, in my AU, Gwen is currently a Monster-Romance Writer. She’s in a relatively good place in her life, though she’s constantly searching for inspiration. While she’s one of my favorites, her role in the AU is mostly limited to what we see in the series. Although she has her moments in the spotlight, she’s more of a supporting character who probably shouldn’t get too involved in the drama of these young adults… Not unlike when they were kids!

Still, it would be pretty hard not to find some inspiration in the strangeness of Lake Lilac and the distinct personalities of the former campers (now counselors).

The last time we talked about her, I mainly mentioned her relationship with David: how it's somewhat strained (by her own doing) due to the first permanent closure of Camp Campbell. But it’s also worth mentioning her dynamic with other characters in this Age-Up AU:

Max: While David doesn’t blame her for doing her job, the one who does distrust her quite a bit is Max, who literally returned as Head Counselor to ensure the camp runs at its "maximum" capacity. He really doesn’t appreciate any threat to his job and considers Gwen a potential threat, so he keeps an eye on her and doesn’t make things easy... Just like in the series! But seriously, their relationship might be a bit strained due to time and misunderstandings; it’ll probably take them a while to find common ground, and given their personalities, it’s going to be tough to get there.

Nikki: Actually, she gets along pretty well with a more grown-up Nikki. It’s not that she didn’t get along with her as a kid, but she feels they can reach a place of understanding they couldn't before. I think Nikki would admire her a lot for climbing out of that pit of uncertainty she was in, the same pit Nikki is in now. I think Nikki would tend to hold her up as a role model, even in areas where Gwen definitely shouldn’t be one!

Neil: Oh, this one was a bit tricky for me because given the state he’s in within the AU, his relationships tend to be much more complex. I think Gwen wants to advise him and be there for him, while at the same time wanting to give him a good shake to snap him out of it. She can't really relate to Neil’s identity crisis because she thinks Neil is a genius and he’s fantastic. That’s never been up for debate!

Edward Pikeman: Let's just say she's grateful that, if needed, she can finally get a restraining order against him.
