I’m gonna be honest with you, my highschool crush was Roxas so I wanna keep him in this idea but, my god, it would be so fun if Sora’s ‘nobody’ turns out to be one of his Bleeds.

But… we can actually keep Roxas since his looks is based on Ventus who was resting in Sora’s heart but we hint at his connection with Desmond Miles by making the prologue of KH2 dwell on his family and it’s talked about how he has an older brother, younger sister and younger brother. Namine later admitted that she wasn’t the one who wrote that in. It was Roxas himself who added that ‘detail’. ‘DiZ’ suggested that it was Roxas’ subconscious taking a bit of ‘memory’ from Sora but that doesn’t make sense when Riku tells him that Sora was an only child.

The real reason why they needed Roxas to merge with Sora is because Sora’s memories and Desmond Miles’ memories are not stable. His experience in Castle Oblivion and Namine’s powers only served to widen the gap between the two sets of memories.

Roxas, being both Sora and Desmond as his nobody, is meant to cover the gaps to stabilize him.

When the time came when Roxas and Sora became one, Desmond Miles’ memories go to sleep to stabilize Sora.

It wasn’t what DiZ wanted. He believed Desmond Miles’ memories was necessary for Sora to grow and defeat Organization 13 but they have no idea why Desmond Miles’ memories refused to resurface.

Until…

KH3 happens and everyone remembers Xion.

Because sure, one of the 13 vessels turn out to be Lucy or Clay (or maybe even Cross) but the most they were able to do was tell Sora that he wasn’t the chosen one. Desmond Miles was the chosen one. He just so happened to be a vessel to the real chosen one and Xehanort’s goal had been to awaken Desmond Miles to control Kingdom Hearts because Kingdom Hearts was an ‘artifact’ from another dimension that appeared in their dimension.

And Desmond Miles was an otherwordly soul, the only being that can control Kingdom Hearts.

And the reason why Sora can’t fully remember his life as Desmond Miles?

Because he wasn’t the true vessel.

Desmond’s true vessel wasn’t actually Sora.

It was Ventus.

Sora was a ‘replacement’ because of what happened to Ventus.

And that was why Xion doesn’t have any of Desmond Miles’ memories nor did she ever take his face. She was an imperfect replica so she wasn’t capable of even trying to hold Desmond’s memories in the first place.

I wonder if Sora or Ventus would end up seeing Desmond's Bleeds in his Dive into the Heart?

What their friends' reactions would be upon the revelation about Desmond?

Ngl, I wanna make Desmond the Sun because of my penchant of giving Desmond something related to the very thing that killed him but based on his ‘situation’, these are the Arcanas that Desmond can be part of in my opinion:

Aeon (many of the Aeon Personas have an affinity to light and a common theme for Aeon representatives are that they are unfamiliar with the world they are in and are struggling to find their place in this world which describes Desmond’s current predicament and also… there’s no Aeon confidant in P5 so Desmond won’t be sharing this spot with anyone or, worse, won’t be removing an existing confidant)

Sun (A character in a lonely and most of the time terribly situation, signifying the hopelessness of them succeeding with the end results being them having to reflect on their situation and coming to peace with themselves and what is happening to them)

Moon (being attuned subconsciously to the world around someone, gaining the ability to sense things without being told about them, or without anyone else knowing, this arcana is also sometimes called the Arcana of Lies and Deceit which Desmond would be doing anyway because there’s no way he’ll tell the truth)

Death (metamorphosis and deep change, regeneration and cycles… which can also hint on Desmond’s origin as someone not from this world)

Personally, I do see Desmond as a Phantom Thief and acting like the cool older brother type to these teenagers. But being a neutral party seems more like his style, considering… everything.

So I would suggest we make Desmond a neutral party the Phantom Thieves meet up with in the Metaverse from time to time, mostly in Mementos because, in his own words ‘something calls to me here’.

The Phantom Thieves don’t know he’s the same bartender that works at Crossroads who would always give Joker a Shirley Temple whenever he’s on break. Lala told Joker that Desmond looked ‘lost’ so she helped him out (in more ways than one, Lala actually thinks Desmond is undocumented and helped him be an ‘upstanding citizen’…)

Desmond, for his part, is just happy that, for some reason, he knows Japanese? He has a feeling it’s one of his Bleed and many people tell him he speaks like he’s from a period drama so yeah, there’s that (it’s one of his Ibn-La'Ahad ancestors who knew Japanese because they chased the Mongols to Japan)

As for Desmond’s Persona…

It would be funny to give him Minerva or Juno as a Persona but we’re not that evil. Another idea would be to give him Dionysus for our usual ‘Desmond could totally be Dionysus’ Sage’ idea that pops in and out XD

Although…

So we’re going to make Desmond special because he’s our blorbo and we’ll use the Persona 1 and 2 plot of how the characters get their Persona.

He does the Persona game because he was bored one day XD

And that’s how he starts to hear Mementos’ call.

And while he journeys in Mementos by himself, that’s when he encounters the Shadows… of his Bleeds.

Confronting them (which always ends in a boss fight) ends with him receiving their Arcana and his Bleeds become his Personas.

His Bleeds’ Arcanas:

Altaïr: Hermit (wisdom, introspection, solitude, retreat and philosophical searches)

Ezio: Judgment (associated with realizing one's calling, gaining a deep understanding of life and a feeling of acceptance and absolution)

Ratonhnhaké:ton: Hanged Man (sometimes self-sacrificial or self-loathing, but are more often notable for being caught between two different extremes, parties or stages in life of which they have little to no control – always in the middle of two opposing forces and he’s doing his best to protect his people given what’s happening) or Strength (associated with the morality about the stronger power of self-control, gentleness, courage and virtue over brute force)

Haytham: Emperor (desire to control one's surroundings, and its appearance could suggest that one is trying too hard to achieve this, possibly causing trouble for others; some elements in life are just not controllable)

Desmond’s real Arcana and his own Persona (which may or may not be some biblically accurate angel-like figure with all of his Bleeds around a small orb similar to the Apple of Eden in the same veins of the Norns design) will only awaken after Joker reaches max level with him.

Also, the Phantom Thieves don’t know it’s him because his form in the Metaverse is always hooded with the robes changing depending on which Persona he uses (at the start, they thought it was different dudes until Desmond changed Personas in midbattle)… and yes, that includes Haytham. Desmond gets a hood too even when he’s using Haytham but he also has Haytham’s tacohat. Them’s the rules.

(I don’t know if I’m seeing it right but I kinda like the idea that taking out the sword also pulls down the wing covering his left eye. Shows how serious Altaïr is now XD)

It would be funny if Desmond actually started with Altaïr and changed to Ezio when everyone realized Altaïr is weak to Ice (it should have been water but P5 doesn’t have Water affinity. Only P2 has Water affinity XD).

Altaïr’s 2nd form makes him able to use different elements that he shouldn’t be able to in order to make use of repeat turns but there’s a limit to how many elements he can cast (the hint is how many pages the Codex has left). When the Codex no longer has any pages, the Codex will disappear. This might seemed like he’s grown weaker but this actually means that he can finally use his Hidden Blade that all three of Desmond’s Persona can use. Hidden Blade counts as a bonus action that can only be performed in melee range and ignores Def and Res as it counts as Almighty skill (it does leave him and Desmond defenseless as they are in melee range).

As for Persona being able to come to the real world… well… I had Desmond start his ‘Persona journey’ by playing the Persona game like in P1 and P2. Which means, if Desmond’s Personas were triggered by the Persona game, we can make an argument that he’s playing by P1 and P2 rules and P1 and P2 Personas can be summoned in the real world. So yeah, we can totally have Desmond’s Personas interacting with modern technology :)

The design is so cool. We couldn’t pick which robes to use for the Persona so we used each one.

Ooohhhh, what if during the Desmond boss fight, Ezio’s a puzzle boss and the Persona ‘body’ will turn after Ezio’s every turn. Each body will have a specific weakness that can be exploited and it also shows what attack Ezio will do next. And it’s kinda like the weapon triangle of FE with:

Body with the scales: elemental attack, weakness: physical

Body with a crossbow: physical attack, weakness: gun

Body with hidden gun: gun attack, weakness: elemental

And you have to hit the weakness to ‘silence’ Ezio otherwise Desmond’s next turn will have him have 2 turns not counting any one more turn he can have.

Can confirm, the cheaper the apartment is, the smaller it is. And considering this is set in Tokyo, the cost of living would be much more expensive than smaller towns (compared to if this was set in Inaba). He would probably get a small apartment because he has limited options on what jobs he can get (or maybe Lala hooked him up with something okay?)

Desmond definitely has thought about assassinations, that’s for sure, but he saw how the whole ‘palace stealing treasure’ thing seems to be working for now so he backs away. Although… if Black Mask did manage to kill someone, there’s a possibility that the Phantom Thieves would think it was him since he’s been very casual about thinking of killing someone.

Oooohhh, a confrontation between him and the Phantom Thieves (maybe with Akechi already in the party?) could happen during that time and that’s how the Phantom Thieves would have a boss (puzzle) fight with Desmond in the first place. (And yes, Haytham having a black mask with a red cross to show his Templar ‘face’ would make things more fun)

You say he’s an endgame boss fight and I would like to suggest that instead of an endgame boss fight, he’s the optional Atlus hard boss fight. Sure, the boss fight with him is mandatory but winning it isn’t. Winning it is possible, sure, but he’s on the level of the optional Atlus hard boss fights that it’s not advisable during the first playthrough (think Demifiend in DDS or Caroline and Justine/Lavenza boss fights). Defeating him unlock him as a playable character as well as takes you the alternate route with becoming a major character instead of a ‘bystander’.

Yeah the Codename would prob be "Hidden" or "Eagle". Assassin is a bit on the nose but again Yusuke is literally called Fox. But if its based-on masks it can also be "hood" since he got a hood with every outfit. Gotta be one word and snappy ye-know?

Desmond deserves to be OP after all the shit he went through in the AC universe and dying.

My reasoning for this is that he never really got to choose what he wants. The moment he is born his fate is sealed. And only in his final moments he is presented with a choice that he can choose.

But it isn't really choosing. Because there's only one choice at the end for him, that is to let himself burn.

its a wonder that he manages to beat Altaïr . Desmond basically had to go "stand back" to his persona and basically Charge-melee combo the Altaïr bleed to death. Thank goodness the Lamb got Charge as a move even if it's more late game.

Joker prob suffered every weekend trying to beat Desmond. The thieves are determined. They came close a few times before they finally beat them (?) maybe? I'd imagine they are on par with Caroline and Justine/Lavenza boss fight when it comes to difficulty. Absolutely rocking the thieves' shit before they gain their footings.

It's prob embarrassingly easy for Desmond to sneak up on the Thieves and listen in for keywords so he can also go into palaces.

Desmond offers to train them in Altaïr's outfit and they do not realize Desmond have different outfits and is like different people because he got like...5 personas and like, Joker is the only person they know who have different personas.

Altaïr-outfit-Desmond is prob like a Mentor figure /ally for them after helping em bust down the Kaneshiro's Palace. Like "no you idiots that ain't how you parkour' and teaching them how to maximize their melee combat.

He prob also had to take a job from Kaneshiro to get into his palace. or just ask Altaïr to fly him up there. It was quite awkward and anxiety inducing for everyone when they met.

How about Desmond starts to dream Edward after Joker reaches Lv 3 or 4 of his confidant link? This way, Desmond won’t immediately suspect that his connection with Joker is the reason why he starts to dream of Edward. And then Edward becomes an unlockable person during his Lv8 confidant where he asks Joker to come with him to Mementos to find a missing child. The child reminded him of Jenny and she was in danger, unlocking Edward’s Persona while Joker wonder if this is supposed to be Desmond’s ultimate Persona. (it’s not)

Oooohh, yeesss. I love how the lamb has the 17 tag on his ear, really giving the ‘raised to die’ vibe.

May I suggest that the lamb is pure white with the fires being white as well? And when Desmond used the lamb, all it has as a skill is ‘Charge’. Leveling him to Lv2 grants him ‘Dia’ and his entire skill set is pure single target buffs and heals.

The lamb having Charge and Dia skills are the only reason why Desmond even beat Altaïr and, unlike his other Persona that has their own turn, this lamb can only act with Desmond to show how it doesn’t have its own ‘free will’.

(That’s fine. I’ve been playing smt games since I was a child so I can pretty much remember most of the mechanics XD)

It would be funny if battling Desmond has become so ingrained in their schedule because of how hard he is to beat that the Phantom Thieves would come together during the weekend before realizing that they don’t have to go to Mementos to fight Desmond. In the end, one of them would just say that weekend is Mementos day and would also invite Desmond (who does have that day specifically as his day off because these kids keep trying to beat him)

I feel like the Altaïr outfit is the mysterious man who observes them, sometimes throws an item or something and leaves before they can come close. The Ezio outfit would be the mentor figure/ally who gives them tips on how to be sneakier. The Ratonhnhaké:ton outfit is the one that show them hidden rooms and even helps out whenever they encounter enemies harder than they expected, even going as far as trying to be bait to the Reaper once or twice to let the Phantom Thieves run away. Haytham outfit is rarely used and that’s why they thought he was the Black Mask because the Haytham outfit always has Desmond leave before they can catch him.

Yeeesss. Desmond would focus on tying the loose ends the kids can’t take care. He becomes friends with Iwai and Kaoru thinks of him as his dad’s cool friend (and maybe only friend)

Desmond tries out crossdressing once because they suggested and he didn’t mind. He got more tips than he would when he wore his usual bartender outfit so he sometimes change it up (especially when he’s close to red because he bought supplies for his solo Mementos excursions). Joker saw him crossdress once and just went “oh, okay, what should I call you when you’re wearing these?” because he’s a chill good boi.

It would be okay if Desmond was just talking with formal Japanese. People won’t bat an eye because formal Japanese should be used when one is talking to someone of higher standing than them (like a customer). What makes him strange is that he uses formal antiquated Japanese. The kind of Japanese that could be heard from 12th century period dramas. Desmond just jokes that he loves the history of certain time period and uses his knowledge from his Bleed to appear like an expert XD

He mostly uses Altaïr because he hasn’t unlocked Ratonhnhaké:ton yet and Ezio’s current skills during that time are the Hama and Mudo instant kills that sometimes doesn’t work XD (He does get Eiha and Kouha later on)

Desmond’s first thought is… “What did Haytham do now?” which makes Haytham turn to stare at him and Desmond realized, oh right, Haytham can’t do anything without him knowing.

Oh, how about Desmond doesn’t run. Before he could say it wasn’t him, the Reaper appears because Desmond had been grinding (lol) but the Phantom Thieves didn’t realize it because the Reaper was behind them so Desmond just books it to lead the Reaper away from the kids.

(May I suggest either a bear, wolf and eagle motif for Ratonhnhaké:ton as a reference to the DLC or simply a wolf motif as a reference to the name ‘Connor’? Maybe even design his Persona to have wounds or scratches as a reference to the meaning of his name as “life that is scratched”? Of course the animal motif works better as the Strength Arcana instead of the Hanged Man)

Ezio looks amazing! I can see it now, Yusuke/Fox begging the Persona Ezio to tell him everything about Leonardo, maybe even asking him to pose for him for a painting. The chaos Futaba and Desmond would make with whatever pranks they come up with... XD It just hit me that Joker's Third Eye ability is almost like Eagle Vision? Would Desmond become aware of the Velvet Room like Joker is, or be in the dark as the rest of the group? Ooh, 'Eagle' would be a nice contrast to Crow's codename. Ice and Gun could work, the hint part makes sense. I was checking out the arcanas to try and figure out which one would suit Edward and perhaps either the Chariot or the Fool would work? And I may not have said it before, but Desmond's Ultimate Persona sounds incredible.

Then Ezio does something better by painting the way he learned to during Renaissance Italy and Yusuke starts to get tips from him. (Maybe Ezio even get Desmond to be Yusuke’s ‘patron’ and Desmond’s like “that’s not how these things work nowadays, Ezio” “That doesn’t matter, Desmond. Have you seen how he lives? He needs someone to take care of him.”)

Joker’s Third Eye ability could be a hint of how he can have Eagle Vision, might even hint that maybe the Isus have a hand in these entire Persona business with whispers that maybe the Velvet Room’s boss (Philemon) may or may not be an Isu or a system created by the Isus.

Desmond has his own Velvet Room but he can’t use fuse nor can he see Joker’s Velvet Room. It’s an empty room and all he can hear is the Velvet Room music. The most he can do in the Velvet Room is to use Persona cards he gets after taking down mobs and using them to craft weapons, armors or accessories. Desmond can’t use Skill cards at all.

(This could be a hint that Desmond was meant to have the Fool Arcana (new beginnings) and should have his own Velvet Room but because of the plot of Persona 5, he didn’t get the perks of the Velvet Room)

Yeesss. Eagle taking in Crow and Futaba likes to jokingly call them the bird duo.

For Edward’s Arcana, I was thinking maybe

Death: symbolizes great change similar to how Edward’s change from being a pirate focused on gold to one of the best Assassin during his time (also, Desmond can joke it’s because Edward’s death led to major changes of the Kenway bloodline)

Chariot: They are typically very driven and athletic individuals who have a personal goal that they aim to achieve at any cost. Often brash but goodhearted, they struggle with weaknesses or doubts that they try to hide from everyone else

I wouldn’t suggest going for the Fool as the Fool is usually represented by the party as a whole and especially the protagonists in P5 (and P3 and P4). So yeah… to keep the symbolism of the games afloat, I wouldn’t suggest the Fool to any of Desmond’s Persona other than his initial Persona the Lamb. XD

What i'm thinking for is that Mementos and cognitive stuff are basically the programing for human mind. Like Mementos is the combined servers for the human/public mind. Palaces form when a person got too much distortion and the servers/calculations went "alright we gotta separate this into a different server"

Yaldabaoth would be an Ai that went mad and gone onto a power-trip. And velvet room attendants and Philemon are what I think would be the anti-viruses programs/ai to make sure the systems are running smoothly. They initially were that but they slowly grow to gain personalities, opinions and such over thousands of years.

Well, we’re going for Desmond being transported into Persona ‘verse so I’m on board on this one. Philemon might be a rogue AI too but he’s different as he decided to support humanity’s free will, instead of pushing them into an idea that the other rogue AI believe would be better for humanity. In this scenario, these AIs started breaking down because whoever made them no longer ‘maintains’ them, giving them chances to break from their programming and develop their own will.

Iwai hears about what Desmond is doing for Yusuke and goes “Are you planning to adopt him?” and Desmond’s just like “Nooooooo, not at all.” and Iwai doesn’t believe him, thinking Desmond would have adopted him but, unfortunately, Desmond’s status as a foreigner makes that difficult.

He doesn’t stop him from picking up Kaoru to school though but he starts to wonder if Desmond just likes children because he doesn’t have one of his own (it’s not that. The children hovers around Desmond’s peripheral and he can’t just ignore them)

So maybe Desmond’s Velvet Room starts as empty then when he gets Altaïr, a bar counter appears where he can use the cards he get to create equipment.

When he gets Ezio, more things pop up in the Velvet Room, just simple decorations and such without any ‘gameplay’ purpose.

Then…

When Joker reached max level with his confidant and helped him evolve his Lamb to his final Persona, the Velvet Room changed.

It looked like a purple version of Bad Weather.

(The music seemed to be coming from what was meant to be the stage and it was a piano and a mic stand but no one was there…)

I’m going to be honest, that’s not small. I mean… it’s not the smallest apartment I’ve seen in Japan, that’s for sure.

For example, this is the floor plan my apartment had when I was in ****** for 11 months due to work.

(a very… Inaba-esque town, actually. The closest fast food was a 30 minute walk McDonalds. The closest KFC was an hour away XD)

LeoPalace21 is more on the cheap side when it comes to rent but they are small. I feel like this is the kind of place Desmond can rent out because it’s cheap, it works well enough and this means he has more funds for all the equipment and items he would use on his solo runs.

I’m not saying Desmond can’t have that kind of apartment as you described. I’m just saying, if Desmond got that kind of apartment in Tokyo, he probably uses his Mementos grind for living expenses too XD

Oooohh, what if they all tried to ambush Desmond while he was using Haytham’s Persona and that brought back bad memories for Haytham that it forces Edward out.

Or… what if during one of his confidant events, he takes Joker alone to Mementos to train him because he believes Joker is close to activating Eagle Vision but they got ambushed along the way. The fear of losing Joker awakens Edward because of the raw emotions that seemed so close to Edward’s emotions when his family was attacked.

I have read up to current, and the lamb to slaughter is my favorite bit. It also makes he wonder if Desmond's arm is burnt? And if so, would that effect the lamb or no? Well, what can happen is that the Lamb’s fire keeps ‘dripping’. The fire is white but when it drips to the ground, it becomes red and stain the ground like blood.

Giving Desmond a burnt arm would be a constant reminder of what has happened and it could reflect on the Lamb’s flames originating from the burnt arm maybe? Or his final Persona having an arm clad in white flames?

If Desmond does have the burns and the sheep is bloodied, the event to get his Ultimate arcana is Desmond telling the kids, all of them with Akechi included, how he burned to save the world. And since the Lamb is HIS arcana the evolution of his Lamb to the ultimate could be the Lamb ripping inside out before turning into the ultimate. To show how it felt for Desmond to die for the world

To make it more morbid, it’s the flames bursting out of the Lamb that turns to his final Arcana as a show of how Desmond burned from the inside.

Also, Joker and Akechi are both Fool arcana's, I think. Joker being a change for the better while Akechi is a change for the worst. So Desmond's Lamb could be a more straightforward Fool, what people first think about when they hear Fool. He's foolish an stupid for having faith in humanity. A foolish for trusting Lucy and getting stabbed in the back for his trust yet still trusting Shane and Rebecca. Desmond is a Fool that is foolish for his sacrifice.

Okay, I just remembered that Akechi’s real Persona is Loki who is part of the Fool’s Arcana so yeah, Akechi is the Fool arcana as well. (I kinda forgot because I got used to him being the Justice Confidant and the ‘negative’ Fool arcana user that I first think of is Adachi XD).

Saying the Fool means being foolish can be our way of spinning Desmond’s thoughts into not realizing the real reason why he’s the Fool.

He believes it’s because he is a fool for all the choices he made but then when he finally meets the real Igor, Igor tells what the Fool truly represent:

The Fool is the start of a journey… a new beginning into the unknown.

The Fool can be whatever it wishes to be for its journey has only began.

Makes me wonder if Mona in his van form would challenge Desmond and the wolf to a race throughout Mementos.

And I agree, the Lamb is so cute. I wonder what its Persona name would be? Or would it just be "Lamb"?

Ooh, and also, in his Velvet Room, what if some of said decorations were references to his journey through his ancestors' memories and his journey now?

I would suggest naming the Lamb Subject 17 just to hammer in the ‘raised for the slaughter’ vibes. His final Persona would be called “The Worlds” (as a reference to the possibility that his name Desmond came from the French word des mondes, the worlds, and the fact that he came from another world).

Yeeesss, the bar is filled with alcoholic beverages that his Bleeds recognized (especially Ezio). The walls are filled with paintings in the same style as Ezio, depicting important events in their lives (Ezio cannot look at the painting titled Burning of Cappadocia and Haytham ignores the painting titled “The End of Edward Kenway”).

The All Out Attack? Uuuhhh, I’m thinking that his All Out Attack ‘art’ changes depends on who his Persona is at the moment. All the Assassins would have “Nothing is true, everything is permitted” as the text but written in their language. Haytham would have the English language but his text would be “May the Father of Understanding Guide Us”. Each art would be Desmond having his back turned from the ‘screen’ while the Persona takes certain stage with the artwork behind them will be of similar style to what was ‘popular during their time’.

Unless it’s Lamb.

For the Lamb All Out Attack art, Desmond would actually be the ‘center’ of the art with the words “Nothing is True, Everything is Permitted” written in English (unless we have Edward taking the English text, then Desmond’s would be written in all of his Personas’ languages stitched together to create a Frankenstein language). The artwork behind him would just more or less look like the shadow backdrop of a city (has a sorta half-film noir, half-cyberpunk feel).

For the final Persona All Out Attack art, it’s similar to the Lamb All Out Attack but now the text in Isu script and the artwork is more of an apocalyptic the sun devours all feel.

Wjsjsn I was just thinking about this again when I got the notification of being tagged My thoughts being Desmond being aware, in a way, about the New Game plus+ Like, first play through the game Desmond is just hanging out but when you New Game plus+ he's like "The fuck??? Joker why would you wanna do this again???" Also, Iwai thinking art boy will get adopted only for Desmond to drag Akechi to stay with him after he nearly dies in his father's palace would be hilarious. Like, the only way to get Akechi to be alive at the end would be to get full relationships lvls with Desmond because of course he could get into the locked room and get the fake Detective Prince gone and Akechi out safe And the group only learns Akechi is alive after they finish the palace completely

In other words… place Desmond in a timeloop against his will. XD

But really, we can make this work by making the first ‘game’ have the bad ending. To be more specific, the ending of Joker being shot by Akechi. Desmond wakes up after learning that Joker has died and, now, he has information of the future.

… But Joker does too.

So Joker believes that Desmond taking a more center stage is because of the changes he’s made to prevent the bad ending. Desmond believes Joker and his group are changing because of his actions. And it takes their Confidant Lv 9 for them to realize that they both returned to the ‘starting’ point.

Desmond unofficially adopts the High School Detective and Iwai’s first thought is “oh another one”. As far as the public knows, Akechi is a good kid. Desmond just wants to try and help him out since… sure, he killed people but they were ‘bad’ people and Akechi needs someone to guide him.

… maybe Edward feels like Akechi is similar to Haytham even (Haytham is offended, Akechi is offended as well).

I'm once more mentioned, lmao I wasn't thinking about this this time but reading through made me think The fact Akechi aquires a new dad is great, Desmond would be a good dad tho

And the funny thing is… Akechi and Desmond would both deny that Desmond is now Akechi’s new dad.

Futaba refuses to call him ‘big bro’ at all until he learned how awkward Akechi feels and now she does it to annoy him.

Yusuke absolute introduces him as ‘my new brother’ in a serious tone because, as far as he’s concerned, Desmond adopted the both of them (Futaba and Joker are both joint custody thing so he calls them ‘our half-siblings’) and Akechi is getting a headache.

Desmond just assumed this is all a way for them to say that they think of Akechi as a friend.

Makoto, on the other hand, actually believes that Desmond should take responsibility and fill out the adoption papers.

Ryuji and Ann thinks this is all funny and joins in (but they don’t really think Makoto was serious about the adoption papers).

Haru knows they don’t want to be seen as dad and son. She also likes to call Akechi ‘Mister Miles’ just to fuck with him anyway. She’s 100% on board with the adoption papers plan.

Joker is the one who got Mona to believe that Akechi and Yusuke are real siblings and Desmond is their dad. To be more exact, one of his ‘other personalities’ are the dads and their dads are different. All of these is done for Joker’s own amusement because he’d rather go to prison than call Akechi his ‘brother’.

I get that Altäir's design is pretty much set, but if the feathers morphed into Hidden Blades?

One of his attacks could be an AOE attack that shows up as him flapping his wings once. Feathers would fall off when he flaps his wings and they would change into the blades of a hidden blade that does Psychic damage. If the feathers don’t change, when it hits the floor, it would cause a mini explosion, damaging every enemy nearby with Nuclear damage.

Wait, what about Edwards reaction to Ryuji’s persona: Captain Kidd

He’d definitely try to talk to the Persona and be bummed out that other Personas seemed less ‘conscious’ since they are a reflection of the user’s hidden self.

This leads to everyone wondering why Desmond’s Personas have ‘personalities’ and Desmond guessed it’s because they’re a part of him.

This leads to Desmond talking about the Bleeding Effect and someone asks if this means that Desmond has multiple personalities and those personalities leeched onto his Personas.

Desmond is absolutely not sure.

I wonder how Edward would look as a Persona since we've seen how Altair, Ezio, and Connor look?

Ngl, I wanna make Desmond the Sun because of my penchant of giving Desmond something related to the very thing that killed him but based on his ‘situation’, these are the Arcanas that Desmond can be part of in my opinion:

Aeon (many of the Aeon Personas have an affinity to light and a common theme for Aeon representatives are that they are unfamiliar with the world they are in and are struggling to find their place in this world which describes Desmond’s current predicament and also… there’s no Aeon confidant in P5 so Desmond won’t be sharing this spot with anyone or, worse, won’t be removing an existing confidant)

Sun (A character in a lonely and most of the time terribly situation, signifying the hopelessness of them succeeding with the end results being them having to reflect on their situation and coming to peace with themselves and what is happening to them)

Moon (being attuned subconsciously to the world around someone, gaining the ability to sense things without being told about them, or without anyone else knowing, this arcana is also sometimes called the Arcana of Lies and Deceit which Desmond would be doing anyway because there’s no way he’ll tell the truth)

Death (metamorphosis and deep change, regeneration and cycles… which can also hint on Desmond’s origin as someone not from this world)

Personally, I do see Desmond as a Phantom Thief and acting like the cool older brother type to these teenagers. But being a neutral party seems more like his style, considering… everything.

So I would suggest we make Desmond a neutral party the Phantom Thieves meet up with in the Metaverse from time to time, mostly in Mementos because, in his own words ‘something calls to me here’.

The Phantom Thieves don’t know he’s the same bartender that works at Crossroads who would always give Joker a Shirley Temple whenever he’s on break. Lala told Joker that Desmond looked ‘lost’ so she helped him out (in more ways than one, Lala actually thinks Desmond is undocumented and helped him be an ‘upstanding citizen’…)

Desmond, for his part, is just happy that, for some reason, he knows Japanese? He has a feeling it’s one of his Bleed and many people tell him he speaks like he’s from a period drama so yeah, there’s that (it’s one of his Ibn-La'Ahad ancestors who knew Japanese because they chased the Mongols to Japan)

As for Desmond’s Persona…

It would be funny to give him Minerva or Juno as a Persona but we’re not that evil. Another idea would be to give him Dionysus for our usual ‘Desmond could totally be Dionysus’ Sage’ idea that pops in and out XD

Although…

So we’re going to make Desmond special because he’s our blorbo and we’ll use the Persona 1 and 2 plot of how the characters get their Persona.

He does the Persona game because he was bored one day XD

And that’s how he starts to hear Mementos’ call.

And while he journeys in Mementos by himself, that’s when he encounters the Shadows… of his Bleeds.

Confronting them (which always ends in a boss fight) ends with him receiving their Arcana and his Bleeds become his Personas.

His Bleeds’ Arcanas:

Altaïr: Hermit (wisdom, introspection, solitude, retreat and philosophical searches)

Ezio: Judgment (associated with realizing one's calling, gaining a deep understanding of life and a feeling of acceptance and absolution)

Ratonhnhaké:ton: Hanged Man (sometimes self-sacrificial or self-loathing, but are more often notable for being caught between two different extremes, parties or stages in life of which they have little to no control – always in the middle of two opposing forces and he’s doing his best to protect his people given what’s happening) or Strength (associated with the morality about the stronger power of self-control, gentleness, courage and virtue over brute force)

Haytham: Emperor (desire to control one's surroundings, and its appearance could suggest that one is trying too hard to achieve this, possibly causing trouble for others; some elements in life are just not controllable)

Desmond’s real Arcana and his own Persona (which may or may not be some biblically accurate angel-like figure with all of his Bleeds around a small orb similar to the Apple of Eden in the same veins of the Norns design) will only awaken after Joker reaches max level with him.

Also, the Phantom Thieves don’t know it’s him because his form in the Metaverse is always hooded with the robes changing depending on which Persona he uses (at the start, they thought it was different dudes until Desmond changed Personas in midbattle)… and yes, that includes Haytham. Desmond gets a hood too even when he’s using Haytham but he also has Haytham’s tacohat. Them’s the rules.

(I don’t know if I’m seeing it right but I kinda like the idea that taking out the sword also pulls down the wing covering his left eye. Shows how serious Altaïr is now XD)

It would be funny if Desmond actually started with Altaïr and changed to Ezio when everyone realized Altaïr is weak to Ice (it should have been water but P5 doesn’t have Water affinity. Only P2 has Water affinity XD).

Altaïr’s 2nd form makes him able to use different elements that he shouldn’t be able to in order to make use of repeat turns but there’s a limit to how many elements he can cast (the hint is how many pages the Codex has left). When the Codex no longer has any pages, the Codex will disappear. This might seemed like he’s grown weaker but this actually means that he can finally use his Hidden Blade that all three of Desmond’s Persona can use. Hidden Blade counts as a bonus action that can only be performed in melee range and ignores Def and Res as it counts as Almighty skill (it does leave him and Desmond defenseless as they are in melee range).

As for Persona being able to come to the real world… well… I had Desmond start his ‘Persona journey’ by playing the Persona game like in P1 and P2. Which means, if Desmond’s Personas were triggered by the Persona game, we can make an argument that he’s playing by P1 and P2 rules and P1 and P2 Personas can be summoned in the real world. So yeah, we can totally have Desmond’s Personas interacting with modern technology :)

Ooohhhh, what if during the Desmond boss fight, Ezio’s a puzzle boss and the Persona ‘body’ will turn after Ezio’s every turn. Each body will have a specific weakness that can be exploited and it also shows what attack Ezio will do next. And it’s kinda like the weapon triangle of FE with:

Body with the scales: elemental attack, weakness: physical

Body with a crossbow: physical attack, weakness: gun

Body with hidden gun: gun attack, weakness: elemental

And you have to hit the weakness to ‘silence’ Ezio otherwise Desmond’s next turn will have him have 2 turns not counting any one more turn he can have.

Can confirm, the cheaper the apartment is, the smaller it is. And considering this is set in Tokyo, the cost of living would be much more expensive than smaller towns (compared to if this was set in Inaba). He would probably get a small apartment because he has limited options on what jobs he can get (or maybe Lala hooked him up with something okay?)

Desmond definitely has thought about assassinations, that’s for sure, but he saw how the whole ‘palace stealing treasure’ thing seems to be working for now so he backs away. Although… if Black Mask did manage to kill someone, there’s a possibility that the Phantom Thieves would think it was him since he’s been very casual about thinking of killing someone.

Oooohhh, a confrontation between him and the Phantom Thieves (maybe with Akechi already in the party?) could happen during that time and that’s how the Phantom Thieves would have a boss (puzzle) fight with Desmond in the first place. (And yes, Haytham having a black mask with a red cross to show his Templar ‘face’ would make things more fun)

You say he’s an endgame boss fight and I would like to suggest that instead of an endgame boss fight, he’s the optional Atlus hard boss fight. Sure, the boss fight with him is mandatory but winning it isn’t. Winning it is possible, sure, but he’s on the level of the optional Atlus hard boss fights that it’s not advisable during the first playthrough (think Demifiend in DDS or Caroline and Justine/Lavenza boss fights). Defeating him unlock him as a playable character as well as takes you the alternate route with becoming a major character instead of a ‘bystander’.

Oooohhh, I was thinking his Personas are special because of his ‘special’ cognition. Like, because he’s new in this world, his palace is not yet ready but because he didn’t exist before he came in this world, he gravitates towards the collective consciousness of humanity.

But making him like Morgana would be fun too. He’s not technically human because he’s an outsider but he’s not like Teddy who was a shadow. Although, maybe he thinks he could be the shadow left behind by Desmond Miles? Maybe make it vague? XD

I also couldn't help but wonder if Desmond would get Edward as a Persona as well, given how in Valhalla, there was a recording of him talking about how for a brief moment, he had a memory of Edward's pop up in his head? I bet his reaction to seeing Mona in the Metaverse would be like "... now I've seen everything." Would his codename in the Metaverse be 'Assassin', or something else?

I mean, sure? Edward could be the fourth Persona who can only be unlocked if Joker levels his confidant up to Lv7 or 8? (I still think his Ultimate Persona unlocking at Lv10 should be his Arcana, maybe Aeon?, and it would look like a biblically accurate angel-like figure with all of his Bleeds around a small orb similar to the Apple of Eden in the same veins of the Norns design)

If there was a Water affinity in this game, I would suggest Edward have a water affinity but I guess we’ll have to do with Ice? Ice and Gun maybe?

It would be fun if his codename would be like “Hidden One” but if that sounds too long so maybe something like “Eagle”?

Yeah the Codename would prob be "Hidden" or "Eagle". Assassin is a bit on the nose but again Yusuke is literally called Fox. But if its based-on masks it can also be "hood" since he got a hood with every outfit. Gotta be one word and snappy ye-know?

Joker prob suffered every weekend trying to beat Desmond. The thieves are determined. They came close a few times before they finally beat them (?) maybe? It's prob embarrassingly easy for Desmond to sneak up on the Thieves and listen in for keywords so he can also go into palaces.

Desmond offers to train them in Altaïr's outfit and they do not realize Desmond have different outfits and is like different people because he got like...5 personas and like, Joker is the only person they know who have different personas.

Altaïr-outfit-Desmond is prob like a Mentor figure /ally for them after helping em bust down the Kaneshiro's Palace. Like "no you idiots that ain't how you parkour' and teaching them how to maximize their melee combat.

He prob also had to take a job from Kaneshiro to get into his palace. or just ask Altaïr to fly him up there. It was quite awkward and anxiety inducing for everyone when they met.

How about Desmond starts to dream Edward after Joker reaches Lv 3 or 4 of his confidant link? This way, Desmond won’t immediately suspect that his connection with Joker is the reason why he starts to dream of Edward. And then Edward becomes an unlockable person during his Lv8 confidant where he asks Joker to come with him to Mementos to find a missing child. The child reminded him of Jenny and she was in danger, unlocking Edward’s Persona while Joker wonder if this is supposed to be Desmond’s ultimate Persona. (it’s not)

Oooohh, yeesss. I love how the lamb has the 17 tag on his ear, really giving the ‘raised to die’ vibe.

May I suggest that the lamb is pure white with the fires being white as well? And when Desmond used the lamb, all it has as a skill is ‘Charge’. Leveling him to Lv2 grants him ‘Dia’ and his entire skill set is pure single target buffs and heals.

The lamb having Charge and Dia skills are the only reason why Desmond even beat Altaïr and, unlike his other Persona that has their own turn, this lamb can only act with Desmond to show how it doesn’t have its own ‘free will’.

(That’s fine. I’ve been playing smt games since I was a child so I can pretty much remember most of the mechanics XD)

It would be funny if battling Desmond has become so ingrained in their schedule because of how hard he is to beat that the Phantom Thieves would come together during the weekend before realizing that they don’t have to go to Mementos to fight Desmond. In the end, one of them would just say that weekend is Mementos day and would also invite Desmond (who does have that day specifically as his day off because these kids keep trying to beat him)

I feel like the Altaïr outfit is the mysterious man who observes them, sometimes throws an item or something and leaves before they can come close. The Ezio outfit would be the mentor figure/ally who gives them tips on how to be sneakier. The Ratonhnhaké:ton outfit is the one that show them hidden rooms and even helps out whenever they encounter enemies harder than they expected, even going as far as trying to be bait to the Reaper once or twice to let the Phantom Thieves run away. Haytham outfit is rarely used and that’s why they thought he was the Black Mask because the Haytham outfit always has Desmond leave before they can catch him.

Yeeesss. Desmond would focus on tying the loose ends the kids can’t take care. He becomes friends with Iwai and Kaoru thinks of him as his dad’s cool friend (and maybe only friend)

Desmond tries out crossdressing once because they suggested and he didn’t mind. He got more tips than he would when he wore his usual bartender outfit so he sometimes change it up (especially when he’s close to red because he bought supplies for his solo Mementos excursions). Joker saw him crossdress once and just went “oh, okay, what should I call you when you’re wearing these?” because he’s a chill good boi.

It would be okay if Desmond was just talking with formal Japanese. People won’t bat an eye because formal Japanese should be used when one is talking to someone of higher standing than them (like a customer). What makes him strange is that he uses formal antiquated Japanese. The kind of Japanese that could be heard from 12th century period dramas. Desmond just jokes that he loves the history of certain time period and uses his knowledge from his Bleed to appear like an expert XD

He mostly uses Altaïr because he hasn’t unlocked Ratonhnhaké:ton yet and Ezio’s current skills during that time are the Hama and Mudo instant kills that sometimes doesn’t work XD (He does get Eiha and Kouha later on)

Desmond’s first thought is… “What did Haytham do now?” which makes Haytham turn to stare at him and Desmond realized, oh right, Haytham can’t do anything without him knowing.

Oh, how about Desmond doesn’t run. Before he could say it wasn’t him, the Reaper appears because Desmond had been grinding (lol) but the Phantom Thieves didn’t realize it because the Reaper was behind them so Desmond just books it to lead the Reaper away from the kids.

(May I suggest either a bear, wolf and eagle motif for Ratonhnhaké:ton as a reference to the DLC or simply a wolf motif as a reference to the name ‘Connor’? Maybe even design his Persona to have wounds or scratches as a reference to the meaning of his name as “life that is scratched”? Of course the animal motif works better as the Strength Arcana instead of the Hanged Man)

Ezio looks amazing! I can see it now, Yusuke/Fox begging the Persona Ezio to tell him everything about Leonardo, maybe even asking him to pose for him for a painting. The chaos Futaba and Desmond would make with whatever pranks they come up with... XD It just hit me that Joker's Third Eye ability is almost like Eagle Vision? Would Desmond become aware of the Velvet Room like Joker is, or be in the dark as the rest of the group? Ooh, 'Eagle' would be a nice contrast to Crow's codename. Ice and Gun could work, the hint part makes sense. I was checking out the arcanas to try and figure out which one would suit Edward and perhaps either the Chariot or the Fool would work? And I may not have said it before, but Desmond's Ultimate Persona sounds incredible.

Then Ezio does something better by painting the way he learned to during Renaissance Italy and Yusuke starts to get tips from him. (Maybe Ezio even get Desmond to be Yusuke’s ‘patron’ and Desmond’s like “that’s not how these things work nowadays, Ezio” “That doesn’t matter, Desmond. Have you seen how he lives? He needs someone to take care of him.”)

Joker’s Third Eye ability could be a hint of how he can have Eagle Vision, might even hint that maybe the Isus have a hand in these entire Persona business with whispers that maybe the Velvet Room’s boss (Philemon) may or may not be an Isu or a system created by the Isus.

Desmond has his own Velvet Room but he can’t use fuse nor can he see Joker’s Velvet Room. It’s an empty room and all he can hear is the Velvet Room music. The most he can do in the Velvet Room is to use Persona cards he gets after taking down mobs and using them to craft weapons, armors or accessories. Desmond can’t use Skill cards at all.

(This could be a hint that Desmond was meant to have the Fool Arcana (new beginnings) and should have his own Velvet Room but because of the plot of Persona 5, he didn’t get the perks of the Velvet Room)

For Edward’s Arcana, I was thinking maybe

Death: symbolizes great change similar to how Edward’s change from being a pirate focused on gold to one of the best Assassin during his time (also, Desmond can joke it’s because Edward’s death led to major changes of the Kenway bloodline)

Chariot: They are typically very driven and athletic individuals who have a personal goal that they aim to achieve at any cost. Often brash but goodhearted, they struggle with weaknesses or doubts that they try to hide from everyone else

I wouldn’t suggest going for the Fool as the Fool is usually represented by the party as a whole and especially the protagonists in P5 (and P3 and P4). So yeah… to keep the symbolism of the games afloat, I wouldn’t suggest the Fool to any of Desmond’s Persona other than his initial Persona the Lamb. XD

Well, we’re going for Desmond being transported into Persona ‘verse so I’m on board on this one. Philemon might be a rogue AI too but he’s different as he decided to support humanity’s free will, instead of pushing them into an idea that the other rogue AI believe would be better for humanity. In this scenario, these AIs started breaking down because whoever made them no longer ‘maintains’ them, giving them chances to break from their programming and develop their own will.

He doesn’t stop him from picking up Kaoru to school though but he starts to wonder if Desmond just likes children because he doesn’t have one of his own (it’s not that. The children hovers around Desmond’s peripheral and he can’t just ignore them)

I’m going to be honest, that’s not small. I mean… it’s not the smallest apartment I’ve seen in Japan, that’s for sure.

For example, this is the floor plan my apartment had when I was in ****** for 11 months due to work.

(a very… Inaba-esque town, actually. The closest fast food was a 30 minute walk McDonalds. The closest KFC was an hour away XD)

LeoPalace21 is more on the cheap side when it comes to rent but they are small. I feel like this is the kind of place Desmond can rent out because it’s cheap, it works well enough and this means he has more funds for all the equipment and items he would use on his solo runs.

I’m not saying Desmond can’t have that kind of apartment as you described. I’m just saying, if Desmond got that kind of apartment in Tokyo, he probably uses his Mementos grind for living expenses too XD

Desmond unlocking Edward could happen in the middle of a fight against the pt’s while he is in haytham mode and they believe he is the true black mask cue the end of the fight when they notice that a change of persona can come with a change in costume

Well, what can happen is that the Lamb’s fire keeps ‘dripping’. The fire is white but when it drips to the ground, it becomes red and stain the ground like blood.

Giving Desmond a burnt arm would be a constant reminder of what has happened and it could reflect on the Lamb’s flames originating from the burnt arm maybe? Or his final Persona having an arm clad in white flames?

Also, Joker and Akechi are both Fool arcana's, I think. Joker being a change for the better while Akechi is a change for the worst. So Desmond's Lamb could be a more straightforward Fool, what people first think about when they hear Fool. He's foolish an stupid for having faith in humanity. A foolish for trusting Lucy and getting stabbed in the back for his trust yet still trusting Shane and Rebecca. Desmond is a Fool that is foolish for his sacrifice.

Okay, I just remembered that Akechi’s real Persona is Loki who is part of the Fool’s Arcana so yeah, Akechi is the Fool arcana as well. (I kinda forgot because I got used to him being the Justice Confidant and the ‘negative’ Fool arcana user that I first think of is Adachi XD).

Saying the Fool means being foolish can be our way of spinning Desmond’s thoughts into not realizing the real reason why he’s the Fool.

He believes it’s because he is a fool for all the choices he made but then when he finally meets the real Igor, Igor tells what the Fool truly represent:

Ngl, I wanna make Desmond the Sun because of my penchant of giving Desmond something related to the very thing that killed him but based on his ‘situation’, these are the Arcanas that Desmond can be part of in my opinion:

Aeon (many of the Aeon Personas have an affinity to light and a common theme for Aeon representatives are that they are unfamiliar with the world they are in and are struggling to find their place in this world which describes Desmond’s current predicament and also… there’s no Aeon confidant in P5 so Desmond won’t be sharing this spot with anyone or, worse, won’t be removing an existing confidant)

Sun (A character in a lonely and most of the time terribly situation, signifying the hopelessness of them succeeding with the end results being them having to reflect on their situation and coming to peace with themselves and what is happening to them)

Moon (being attuned subconsciously to the world around someone, gaining the ability to sense things without being told about them, or without anyone else knowing, this arcana is also sometimes called the Arcana of Lies and Deceit which Desmond would be doing anyway because there’s no way he’ll tell the truth)

Death (metamorphosis and deep change, regeneration and cycles… which can also hint on Desmond’s origin as someone not from this world)

Personally, I do see Desmond as a Phantom Thief and acting like the cool older brother type to these teenagers. But being a neutral party seems more like his style, considering… everything.

So I would suggest we make Desmond a neutral party the Phantom Thieves meet up with in the Metaverse from time to time, mostly in Mementos because, in his own words ‘something calls to me here’.

The Phantom Thieves don’t know he’s the same bartender that works at Crossroads who would always give Joker a Shirley Temple whenever he’s on break. Lala told Joker that Desmond looked ‘lost’ so she helped him out (in more ways than one, Lala actually thinks Desmond is undocumented and helped him be an ‘upstanding citizen’…)

Desmond, for his part, is just happy that, for some reason, he knows Japanese? He has a feeling it’s one of his Bleed and many people tell him he speaks like he’s from a period drama so yeah, there’s that (it’s one of his Ibn-La'Ahad ancestors who knew Japanese because they chased the Mongols to Japan)

As for Desmond’s Persona…

It would be funny to give him Minerva or Juno as a Persona but we’re not that evil. Another idea would be to give him Dionysus for our usual ‘Desmond could totally be Dionysus’ Sage’ idea that pops in and out XD

Although…

So we’re going to make Desmond special because he’s our blorbo and we’ll use the Persona 1 and 2 plot of how the characters get their Persona.

He does the Persona game because he was bored one day XD

And that’s how he starts to hear Mementos’ call.

And while he journeys in Mementos by himself, that’s when he encounters the Shadows… of his Bleeds.

Confronting them (which always ends in a boss fight) ends with him receiving their Arcana and his Bleeds become his Personas.

His Bleeds’ Arcanas:

Altaïr: Hermit (wisdom, introspection, solitude, retreat and philosophical searches)

Ezio: Judgment (associated with realizing one's calling, gaining a deep understanding of life and a feeling of acceptance and absolution)

Ratonhnhaké:ton: Hanged Man (sometimes self-sacrificial or self-loathing, but are more often notable for being caught between two different extremes, parties or stages in life of which they have little to no control – always in the middle of two opposing forces and he’s doing his best to protect his people given what’s happening) or Strength (associated with the morality about the stronger power of self-control, gentleness, courage and virtue over brute force)

Haytham: Emperor (desire to control one's surroundings, and its appearance could suggest that one is trying too hard to achieve this, possibly causing trouble for others; some elements in life are just not controllable)

Desmond’s real Arcana and his own Persona (which may or may not be some biblically accurate angel-like figure with all of his Bleeds around a small orb similar to the Apple of Eden in the same veins of the Norns design) will only awaken after Joker reaches max level with him.

Also, the Phantom Thieves don’t know it’s him because his form in the Metaverse is always hooded with the robes changing depending on which Persona he uses (at the start, they thought it was different dudes until Desmond changed Personas in midbattle)… and yes, that includes Haytham. Desmond gets a hood too even when he’s using Haytham but he also has Haytham’s tacohat. Them’s the rules.

(I don’t know if I’m seeing it right but I kinda like the idea that taking out the sword also pulls down the wing covering his left eye. Shows how serious Altaïr is now XD)

It would be funny if Desmond actually started with Altaïr and changed to Ezio when everyone realized Altaïr is weak to Ice (it should have been water but P5 doesn’t have Water affinity. Only P2 has Water affinity XD).

Altaïr’s 2nd form makes him able to use different elements that he shouldn’t be able to in order to make use of repeat turns but there’s a limit to how many elements he can cast (the hint is how many pages the Codex has left). When the Codex no longer has any pages, the Codex will disappear. This might seemed like he’s grown weaker but this actually means that he can finally use his Hidden Blade that all three of Desmond’s Persona can use. Hidden Blade counts as a bonus action that can only be performed in melee range and ignores Def and Res as it counts as Almighty skill (it does leave him and Desmond defenseless as they are in melee range).

As for Persona being able to come to the real world… well… I had Desmond start his ‘Persona journey’ by playing the Persona game like in P1 and P2. Which means, if Desmond’s Personas were triggered by the Persona game, we can make an argument that he’s playing by P1 and P2 rules and P1 and P2 Personas can be summoned in the real world. So yeah, we can totally have Desmond’s Personas interacting with modern technology :)

Ooohhhh, what if during the Desmond boss fight, Ezio’s a puzzle boss and the Persona ‘body’ will turn after Ezio’s every turn. Each body will have a specific weakness that can be exploited and it also shows what attack Ezio will do next. And it’s kinda like the weapon triangle of FE with:

Body with the scales: elemental attack, weakness: physical

Body with a crossbow: physical attack, weakness: gun

Body with hidden gun: gun attack, weakness: elemental

And you have to hit the weakness to ‘silence’ Ezio otherwise Desmond’s next turn will have him have 2 turns not counting any one more turn he can have.

Can confirm, the cheaper the apartment is, the smaller it is. And considering this is set in Tokyo, the cost of living would be much more expensive than smaller towns (compared to if this was set in Inaba). He would probably get a small apartment because he has limited options on what jobs he can get (or maybe Lala hooked him up with something okay?)

Desmond definitely has thought about assassinations, that’s for sure, but he saw how the whole ‘palace stealing treasure’ thing seems to be working for now so he backs away. Although… if Black Mask did manage to kill someone, there’s a possibility that the Phantom Thieves would think it was him since he’s been very casual about thinking of killing someone.

Oooohhh, a confrontation between him and the Phantom Thieves (maybe with Akechi already in the party?) could happen during that time and that’s how the Phantom Thieves would have a boss (puzzle) fight with Desmond in the first place. (And yes, Haytham having a black mask with a red cross to show his Templar ‘face’ would make things more fun)

You say he’s an endgame boss fight and I would like to suggest that instead of an endgame boss fight, he’s the optional Atlus hard boss fight. Sure, the boss fight with him is mandatory but winning it isn’t. Winning it is possible, sure, but he’s on the level of the optional Atlus hard boss fights that it’s not advisable during the first playthrough (think Demifiend in DDS or Caroline and Justine/Lavenza boss fights). Defeating him unlock him as a playable character as well as takes you the alternate route with becoming a major character instead of a ‘bystander’.

But making him like Morgana would be fun too. He’s not technically human because he’s an outsider but he’s not like Teddy who was a shadow. Although, maybe he thinks he could be the shadow left behind by Desmond Miles? Maybe make it vague? XD

Saw this artwork by astarcis and my mind immediately went ‘what would the ancestors do if they found this, and it was actually Desmond reincarnated after the eye?’ Like the various animal Desmond’s people have submitted.

Altair would probably find it fascinating, and Maria would not want it around the kids at all, it’s at least partly snake, what if it bit the children? Jokes on Maria though, the children love this strange abomination, and Desmond in kind loves kids. And with his knowledge, he’d be able to stay behind and protect Malik and Sef when the others leave to kill Genghis Khan. Give Abbas an agonizing death with his venom or something.

I feel Ezio would probably find him somewhere and take him to Leonardo. He’d maybe say something stupid to Leo like ‘what kind of dog is this? I’ve never seen such a thing before.’ And Leo, bless his soul, would be like ‘you can’t be that stupid Ezio. Thats not a dog. I don’t know what that is. Where did you find it?’ ‘I’m going to keep him. He’s kinda cute.’ Desmond is very sweet to Maria and Claudia, which just cements Ezio’s thoughts that he is some kind of weird dog. It wags it’s tail and everything like a dog. Even if it does swallow it’s food whole…

Ratonhnhaké:ton and his tribe probably think of him as a forest spirit or something. They’d definitely know he wasn’t ‘natural’ and therefore would try to honor him so as to not bring misfortune on the tribe by being disrespectful.  Desmond would hang around the temple a lot, trying to find a way to destroy Juno, or at least make it so she can’t communicate with Ratonhnhaké:ton. And Charles Lee would definitely die horribly by his poison bite before he could kill the tribe. Once Ratonhnhaké:ton was older, Desmond would probably start following him around more, leaving the temple more often. Helping with hunts and such. Of course, the tribe would then think Ratonhnhaké:ton was the ‘chosen one’ or something by the spirit and would start to ask him what Desmond wanted for tribute or something lol.

(The creature is called a ‘nightstalker’ from fallout new vegas, i’ve never played that series myself, but it seems to have a lot of interesting creatures from the nuclear fallout that occurred.)

Well, first and foremost… don’t look at the actual nightstalker from Fallout New Vegas. They don’t… look as cute as the one above. XD

As for additional headcanons and thoughts:

I like to think that Desmond is one of those nightstalkers that can turn invisible and the first time he does it, everybody panicked because they thought he flatout disappeared.

Sef definitely loves Desmond the most as he grew up with Desmond being both his guard dog and babysitter. Sef’s daughters also love Desmond and likes to hug him. Unlike Maria who had been worried, Sef absolutely encourages his daughters to play with Desmond.

Malik’s son, Tazim, was once dared to tug Desmond’s tail. Just to be a jerk, Desmond howled loudly and pretended to die for dramatic effect. It traumatized Tazim so badly because he honestly believed he killed Desmond. Desmond felt super bad especially since no one could stop Tazim from crying even after Desmond showed that he’s alive and well.

Desmond didn’t think it would be a big deal since Darim’s preferred method of stopping him from doing something stupid was to tug his tail anyway.

Leonardo would definitely draw sketches of Desmond which would baffle historians in later years. Leonardo is also the only person to wonder how Desmond reproduces (Nightstalkers lay eggs… and… uuuhhh… every nightstalker has a chance to drop eggs if you kill them so… I’m not saying Desmond can lay eggs… I’m just saying… the possibility exists?)

Desmond mostly communicates with growls and whimpers but whenever it’s time to poison someone, he hisses and rattles.

The preferred poison of the Assassins was based on his venom thanks to Altaïr’s studies. This means that old Assassin families are immune to his venom. This includes Haytham.

Desmond definitely destroyed the crystal skull that Juno uses to communicate with Ratonhnhaké:ton’s tribe by playing with it like it’s a ball of yarn. The villagers just assumed it was the will of the spirits.

Whenever anyone asks Ratonhnhaké:ton what Desmond wants for tribute, Ratonhnhaké:ton always answers that the best tribute is a kill by their hunters that will be shared with the tribes as some kind of festivity. It took months for Desmond to be able to explain it to Ratonhnhaké:ton using charades and Desmond was actually just saying ‘a meal together’.

And every time an ancestor first finds the eggs, they’re confused as well. like ‘oh…it’s a girl? ok.’

And of course, people have to try and eat them. What if Desmond was like a chicken? Only very large and dog-like. With snake parts…

Do the eggs need to be fertilized by another nightstalker, or could Desmond potentially have cute nightstalker babies following him around eventually??

Wouldn’t it be traumatizing for Desmond if his ancestors would eat his eggs? Like, on one hand, they’re just eggs, on the other hand, they’re his eggs.

(Honestly, I was thinking of Desmond just having baby nightstalkers and maybe make a pack?)

Hear me out.

So there’s this game… called Conception and it’s well… it’s an okay JRPG.

The point is it has this mechanic where you can get star children by making the mc and one of the girls do this ‘ritual’ with an egg.

So…

What if… the only way for the eggs to be ‘fertilized’ is if a human of Desmond’s human lineage was to… touch the egg for a certain period of time?

Like… nothing sexual or anything… just someone touching the egg for a while, probably some kind of DNA or ‘spirit’ transference going on or something.

And each baby nightstalker that hatches take on a trait of the person that held them. Like a baby nightstalker just as curious as Altaïr or a nighstalker that can charm everyone off like Ezio or a nightstalker that is an awesome hunter like Ratonhnhaké:ton.

This way, even if Desmond is sorta immortal, his baby nightstalkers (who have the same lifespan as him) would be a piece of his previous ‘owners’.

And he’d have to be careful though because he could easily overpopulate the world by, essentially, immortal nightstalkers by accident XD

Ooohhh. It would be funny if Desmond laid an egg once during his time with Altaïr and it doesn’t hatch. The entire time, Altaïr was studying it but any attempts to crack it had Desmond just barking-hissing-growling-screeching all at the same time and it’s the only time Desmond does that so Altaïr doesn’t try. Desmond is more on the side of “don’t crack that! What if there’s something inside! I don’t want to see anything!!!” and “What the hell is that? Altaïr, what the hell is that? WHY DOES THE APPLE NOT KNOW WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT???”

Then Desmond stays with Darim after they say goodbye to Altaïr and he just cuddles the egg because it still smells a lot like Altaïr’s office and Altaïr himself.

Then one day…

He hears a crack and Desmond freaks out.

What if he had hugged it too tightly during his sleep?

What if he cracked the egg himself?

Oh my god!

DARIM!!!!

And Darim finds him freaking out because the egg is cracking and he’s making that awful sound and-

A paw burst out of the egg and the egg topples, finally cracking it enough that a small pup is revealed, shaking the egg shell off it.

And Desmond just stares.

And Darim just stares because he honestly expected that egg to be some kind of… well… not-alive egg.

And that’s how Sef’s wife finds them, just staring dumbfounded at the small nightstalker trying to stand but keep falling onto his belly. She goes, “Oh! Desmond has a baby!”

And Darim can only choked out “Desmond has a baby…”

And Desmond’s just “I have a baby…”

200 years later, Petruccio Auditore finds a nightstalker during one of his walks and brings it home because he thinks it’s a puppy.

An hour later, Desmond slips inside Palazzo Auditore and finds his son freshly bathed, smelling like perfume, with a ribbon on his head, giving Desmond the most disgruntled expression ever.

Desmond thinks he looks pretty.

And Desmond and his son… just stayed.

…

His son’s name is Altaïr and either he’s actually bringing his ancestors back with whatever egg-magic is going on or his children just develops similar characteristics to the ancestors the eggs are ‘close’ to is a big “???”

Because im a sucker for fix-its and fluff i like the idea of the eggs actually being his ancestors/Clay.

And yes! With 2 nightstalkers the Pazzi cant touch the Auditore! >:) Id imagine Desmond tries to teach Ezio to become an awesome assassin and once Ezio finds the Codex and reads about Desmond, he’d be shocked that the great Altaïr’s companion would choose him. Altaïr would just be so embarrassed to be “The Great Altaïr” and to have a statue made(how is it so accurate to his apperance!? He never posed for it!) in his honor. XD

Whenever Ezio dies and is reborn, he’d be fiercly protective of his wife and children and he would feel blessed to be able to see them grow up, even beyond his death.

Oh, just remembered the “Desmond is a cat” ask and how Edward just grabbed Desmond ‘cause every ship needs a cat and just. He grabbed this weird looking snake cat thing because snakes eat rats and so does cats, so whatever this thing is must be great at hunting rats! Oh, look! There’s 3 more, this is perfect! And the crew is just “Wtf captain!?”. XD

I was thinking Desmond and his pups can’t communicate like humans but they can communicate with one another using their own language. Unfortunately, Desmond and his pups cannot do that with other animals.

And, yeah, Desmond tries to talk to Altaïr by writing (using his paw like he was hand-painting words) but they turn out to be gibberish.

Yeeesss. I was actually thinking that Clay would be born during Ezio’s time as well since Ezio is Clay’s ancestor? Or if you can wait until 2012 then that’s when Clay would finally be ‘born’ as a nightstalker. XD

Oh man. I can just imagine Adéwalé trying to make Edward understand that the thing he brought on board is not a cat and Edward’s like “I know it’s not a cat. It’s a cat-snake. Both animals that eat rats!”

And Desmond is just staring at him with an expression of “what am I? A two for one deal???”

Edward gets to Nassau and ‘James Kidd’ is immediately rushing to his ship before he could even disembark and asks him if Edward had stolen an exotic dog.

Edward says no because, in his eyes, Desmond is a cat-snake.

But Desmond smells his pups so he barges out of the deck, tail wagging and making cooing/hissing sounds. His children all rush to the ship, having been hiding in the docks (‘James Kidd’ pleaded for them to hide) and just rubs against Desmond, making worried cooing sounds.

And ‘James Kidd’ just gives Edward an unimpressed look.

“That’s a cat-snake, not an exotic dog!”

And Adéwalé is just by the helm, wondering if he was the one going crazy for thinking that Desmond is neither an exotic dog or a cat-snake…

Or…

These white people are just crazy as fuck.

I imagined Desmond tried telling everyone who he was when he first met them. The text turned out yo be just gibberish, but now that Altaïr is a.. snake-dog thingie like himself, maybe it will work now?

“Desmond, what are you drawing?”

“Im trying to write, you can’t understand it?”

“…No and my infant son could draw better than this. This does explain why you kept drawing in the mud when we first met.”

*Desmond looking down on his scribbles* “Ouch”

Oh, yes! Desmond lays an egg almost immidiently upon meeting Ezio and he expects it to be like Altaïr, so he guards it fiercly from Annetta that wants to see if its edible. Then, after a few weeks it hatches to everyones shock.

“It hatched!? Who the fuck are you then? Ezio’s still alive???”

“Hi Seventeen, nice to meet you too and i can only assume me being this weird cat thing is your doing?”

“… It’s probably my fault, but i honestly can’t tell. I can only say i did not do this intentionaly.”

“Sure, whatever you say. You got any food in this joint?”

Adéwalé is just rubbing his forehead to stave off the headache that is “Edward Kenway” in a nutshell. He is just shocked the creature didn’t try to bite Edward’s hand off when he just picked it up. Honestly, it would seem it’s someone’s pet, if the fact it didn’t try to tear off peoples hands whenever they try to pick it up would say otherwise. Maybe the crazy captain is just special for some unkown reason? Whatever it is, Adéwalé is not touching the thing and so should none of the crew if they are smart.

Oh, the re-union sounds adorable. Just this big pile of fur and scales and whatever else these things have. Desmond probably just went for a walk while his pups slept in their den when he spotted Edward and Desmond just had to get a closer look. That man seems so familiar, but he has never seen him before???

Edward noticed the strange cat-snake thing following him, but Eagle Vision told him it was friendly, so he didn’t worry about it. But the thing just kept following him. It’s very good at hiding and it seems very fast. Wonder if it’s a good rat catcher? It is a snake and cat combination, so it must be better than just a plain cat. ‘Eh, might as well grab it’

“Hello little strange snake-cat creature… thingie, your coming with me.”

Desmond’s just too shocked to really react as the man just seriously picked him up and carried him under his armpit like it was the normal thing to do with an unknown animal.

Oh god.

Did that mean this pup was going to be Darim’s younger sibling???

As if having a feeling it was time to gang up on Desmond, Darim comes in and sees Desmond drawing again and he’s just trying to be a nice brother/son/nephew as he said, “Oh. Are you teaching your son to draw, Desmond? That’s such a good drawing of a… um… snake…?”

“Clay, this is Altaïr. Since you’re my… uuuhhh… child… he’s your older brother.” Desmond paused as he added, “I guess.”

“Hhhmmm.” Clay walked around Altaïr who simply sat perfectly still, using his head to follow Clay’s movements.

“Since he’s the oldest, you should probably listen to him.” Desmond added hesitantly, unsure on how the two of them would even interact with one another.

“I don’t feel- Ack!” Clay let out a sound that was both a hiss and a yowl.

“If you can’t follow my orders as an older brother then remember that I am a mentor of the Brotherhood.” Altaïr stated coldly as he used his tail to keep Clay flat on the ground. Clay turned around and tried to claw at Altaïr’s tail, making soft growling noises that Altaïr just ignored as he turned to Desmond, “Don’t worry, Desmond. I’ll make sure to keep an eye on my brother.”

“Uuuhh… okay…?”

A few feet away…

“Aawww, look at Desmond’s pups. They’re playing.” Petruccio said with a smile and the rest of the Auditore chuckled as they watched such a ‘heart-warming’ family scene.

Adéwalé also has to deal with the crew being suspicious and wary at… the ship-cat. But that exotic ship-cat definitely was keeping the crew in line as no one could even whisper the word mutiny before the ship-cat would be walking towards them and sitting in front of them as if daring them to keep talking.

And… no one would be able to tell anyone that he would talk to the ship-cat at times, just to talk about the many tribulations he had gone thru because of Edward Kenway. After every talk, the ship-cat would pat him in the back and…

Adéwalé wondered if this creature might be as intelligent as a human.

Nah.

That would be too much.

Desmond has full confidence that his children would be alright. Altaïr was big enough to take point and he’s taken over as their leader anyway. He was more worried about Ezio, to be honest, as he was still a pup. If worse comes to worse, Clay would grab him by the scruff of his neck as they make their escape.

They had been on the same port as Edward because they had been staying with the Assassins in the West Indies so his children would be safe. Worse comes to worse, he’d find one of the Assassins stationed all over West Indies. (They were being transported to the headquarters or something? Desmond wasn’t sure. He and his children just followed one of Ezio’s descendants here and he asked them to stay and help out the West Indies while he went to go to France for some mission or something).

And Edward had a hidden blade so he’s an Assassin… right???

And Claudia and Altaïr both pretend they don’t do it at all. Altaïr has tried to get her to stop but the moment she started rubbing, he always lost.

Claudia doesn’t want anyone to know about it because it’s unladylike so she only does it in close doors.

When Desmond finally learns about it, he has a field day calling it ‘liaisons’ which Altaïr knew was his way of annoying him.

And Kenway just goes "He likes to be tall."

Saw this artwork by astarcis and my mind immediately went ‘what would the ancestors do if they found this, and it was actually Desmond reincarnated after the eye?’ Like the various animal Desmond’s people have submitted.

Altair would probably find it fascinating, and Maria would not want it around the kids at all, it’s at least partly snake, what if it bit the children? Jokes on Maria though, the children love this strange abomination, and Desmond in kind loves kids. And with his knowledge, he’d be able to stay behind and protect Malik and Sef when the others leave to kill Genghis Khan. Give Abbas an agonizing death with his venom or something.

I feel Ezio would probably find him somewhere and take him to Leonardo. He’d maybe say something stupid to Leo like ‘what kind of dog is this? I’ve never seen such a thing before.’ And Leo, bless his soul, would be like ‘you can’t be that stupid Ezio. Thats not a dog. I don’t know what that is. Where did you find it?’ ‘I’m going to keep him. He’s kinda cute.’ Desmond is very sweet to Maria and Claudia, which just cements Ezio’s thoughts that he is some kind of weird dog. It wags it’s tail and everything like a dog. Even if it does swallow it’s food whole…

Ratonhnhaké:ton and his tribe probably think of him as a forest spirit or something. They’d definitely know he wasn’t ‘natural’ and therefore would try to honor him so as to not bring misfortune on the tribe by being disrespectful.  Desmond would hang around the temple a lot, trying to find a way to destroy Juno, or at least make it so she can’t communicate with Ratonhnhaké:ton. And Charles Lee would definitely die horribly by his poison bite before he could kill the tribe. Once Ratonhnhaké:ton was older, Desmond would probably start following him around more, leaving the temple more often. Helping with hunts and such. Of course, the tribe would then think Ratonhnhaké:ton was the ‘chosen one’ or something by the spirit and would start to ask him what Desmond wanted for tribute or something lol.

(The creature is called a ‘nightstalker’ from fallout new vegas, i’ve never played that series myself, but it seems to have a lot of interesting creatures from the nuclear fallout that occurred.)

Well, first and foremost… don’t look at the actual nightstalker from Fallout New Vegas. They don’t… look as cute as the one above. XD

As for additional headcanons and thoughts:

I like to think that Desmond is one of those nightstalkers that can turn invisible and the first time he does it, everybody panicked because they thought he flatout disappeared.

Sef definitely loves Desmond the most as he grew up with Desmond being both his guard dog and babysitter. Sef’s daughters also love Desmond and likes to hug him. Unlike Maria who had been worried, Sef absolutely encourages his daughters to play with Desmond.

Malik’s son, Tazim, was once dared to tug Desmond’s tail. Just to be a jerk, Desmond howled loudly and pretended to die for dramatic effect. It traumatized Tazim so badly because he honestly believed he killed Desmond. Desmond felt super bad especially since no one could stop Tazim from crying even after Desmond showed that he’s alive and well.

Desmond didn’t think it would be a big deal since Darim’s preferred method of stopping him from doing something stupid was to tug his tail anyway.

Leonardo would definitely draw sketches of Desmond which would baffle historians in later years. Leonardo is also the only person to wonder how Desmond reproduces (Nightstalkers lay eggs… and… uuuhhh… every nightstalker has a chance to drop eggs if you kill them so… I’m not saying Desmond can lay eggs… I’m just saying… the possibility exists?)

Desmond mostly communicates with growls and whimpers but whenever it’s time to poison someone, he hisses and rattles.

The preferred poison of the Assassins was based on his venom thanks to Altaïr’s studies. This means that old Assassin families are immune to his venom. This includes Haytham.

Desmond definitely destroyed the crystal skull that Juno uses to communicate with Ratonhnhaké:ton’s tribe by playing with it like it’s a ball of yarn. The villagers just assumed it was the will of the spirits.

Whenever anyone asks Ratonhnhaké:ton what Desmond wants for tribute, Ratonhnhaké:ton always answers that the best tribute is a kill by their hunters that will be shared with the tribes as some kind of festivity. It took months for Desmond to be able to explain it to Ratonhnhaké:ton using charades and Desmond was actually just saying ‘a meal together’.

And every time an ancestor first finds the eggs, they’re confused as well. like 'oh…it’s a girl? ok.’

And of course, people have to try and eat them. What if Desmond was like a chicken? Only very large and dog-like. With snake parts…

Do the eggs need to be fertilized by another nightstalker, or could Desmond potentially have cute nightstalker babies following him around eventually??

I wonder just how Mary/James ended up coming across them before Edward showed up with Desmond? And the kind of antics that ensued?

gang sails off into the distance! and by “distance” I mean they’re high-tailing it into the Assassin servers in order to regroup and recuperate and figure out what the fuck to do now since. well. hey, they retrieved Desmond and they’ve kept him safe! uh. now what. if there were other Assassins’ memories in Abstergo, how long until they gain sentience as well? and how the fuck did Desmond and Jacob find a movie projector on the ship?

Desmond is still kind of reeling from everything that’s just happened, and to his surprise, despite the whole awkwardness surrounding Uh Fuckin Everything, the Kenways are willing to take him in, altho Edward somewhat morbidly jokes that their dysfunctional family being an improvement over his is really kind of sad when he thinks about it. then he offers to let him take a turn at the wheel—he needs to go see what they’ve done to the captain’s cabin anyway, he wasn’t able to since the collision and it’s probably messed with a few things.

they do need a base to operate out of for the time being. Davenport Manor is suggested, then somewhat reluctantly shot down bc of the two Templars around who are immediately like yeah uh No. Café Theatre is too cramped, although in a pinch it could do. the Frye twins’ train has little to offer in the way of bedrooms. Monteriggioni is considered and makes it into a top five list, only losing bc an entire town is a little too big and prone to glitches. (Desmond is a little peeved about it.) eventually everyone settles on finding a version of Great Inagua in the Assassin servers and regrouping there so they can figure out their next move. and maybe Edward is a little bit smug over it.

I do like the idea of Desmond teaching the gang how to really break shit in Abstergo, like—Juno is still in there, and there’s a possibility there might be more sentient data representations of dead Assassins (and dead Templars) rolling around now in the servers. Ezio shudders to think of Juno at the same time that Shay does, and they’re both concerned about the idea of Juno being able to simply possess somebody, and if she’s able to do that in the digital realm, there’s the lingering possibility of her being able to do that to an actual flesh and blood person. which nobody wants! so that’s on their priority list. and also all the other possibly-sentient people who might be running around the servers.

Arno and the twins and Henry listen to all of this, then sit in contemplation. then all three of them are like. oh shit we have to check on our simulations bc Lydia and Elise might also be gaining sentience and god KNOWS what they’re doing right now without us. who wants to come with, we’ve got spare clothes for you. (aka: how to justify the legacy outfits lol.)

The “Too Long Post” which was about the playable characters in Abstergo’s games gaining sentience for easy reference. (And considering we ended it after they got away, we can count that as Arc 1 XD)

Honestly, I think the only valid locations for their homebase would be the Great Inagua or Davenport Homestead because they also need to park their ship (depending on who you ask, it’s either called ‘Aquila’ or ‘Jackdaw’) and the Seine river would be hard to navigate while the Thames is chock-full of other ships and boats and the moving train means they can’t always get to the ship quickly. Also, they all try to fit in the mansion that Edward had ‘commandeered’ but it becomes clear that there is a division. Altaïr, Ezio and Ratonhnhaké:ton took the rooms nearest to Desmond. Haytham took the room furthest away from everyone and Shay took the room to his left. Shao Jun took the empty room nearest to Ezio while Aveline took the empty room nearest to Ratonhnhaké:ton. Jacob’s the only one who went ‘whichever room is free’ and Arno took the room furthest away from Shay which sorta put him between Jacob and an empty room that Evie took for herself. Jacob joked of Jayadeep just sharing a room with Evie so he took the room on the other side of Jacob instead, making Jacob roll his eyes. Edward just took his old room (which was the largest room). So… they might be in this together but they’re definitely not exactly the bestest of allies at the moment.  

Desmond taught them what he knew, things he didn’t know when he was alive but he just… knew once he ‘woke up’. He doesn’t even know if these skills came from his memory of Clay or from his memory of Dionysus (holy shit, his Isu ancestor was the god of wine and debauchery? What the fuck???) but he wasn’t going to reject such a boon. He’s quiet about his life though, only sharing a bit if anyone asked about what they saw. 

And the only one who asked was a worried Shao Jun because Shay was keeping his distance and the others either didn’t have such a bad memory to watch (Aveline, Evie and Jayadeep) or didn’t even see any memory (Jacob and Arno).

The ones connected to Desmond though… Desmond told them everything. Even Edward who was just in the room with the three people who had the biggest urge to find Desmond and Haytham who Edward believes had been affected just as much by the time they started to piece Desmond back together. Edward provided the alcohol back then (although Altaïr did not partake) and they finished more than five bottles of Edward’s hardest liquor. He was especially worried for Haytham who grabbed an entire unopened bottle and just started topping his glass with it and ended up finishing it and still requesting his glass to be filled afterward.  

Are we talking about the Juno in Desmond’s dataspace or the real Juno in digital space? Because if it’s the real Juno and this is set after Syndicate BUT before the comics where she died, then Juno is out in the real world (which would give us an excuse to have our sentient Assassins travel into other corners of the internet XD).

However, I do like the idea that they’ve unintentionally created Juno 2.0 from Desmond’s memory of her (and also a bit of Ezio and Ratonhnhaké:ton’s memories). This also gives Ratonhnhaké:ton a reason to want to take her down since she… technically didn’t lie but she absolutely used Ratonhnhaké:ton and gave him the short stick in that deal. (With her past misgivings to Ratonhnhaké:ton, Edward would be on board and maybe even Haytham once he learned how everything had been set into stones because of the path the Isus have chosen the world to walk to, including how the Kenway family ended).

You know what would be fun? If they made the grievous assumption that the data are gaining sentient while they were gone BUT the real reason why they’re slowly gaining sentient is because all sentient data (them) are still connected to the virus that started this all. Now, the virus was fast-acting in Abstergo because it was meant to fuck shit up there but the virus also have a failsafe that makes it dormant when it knows it’s no longer in Abstergo’s servers. But… the virus itself might be dormant but constant exposure to it will still affect data. 

… wanna make Arno have a bad time once more? Élise is slowly waking up and she starts remembering…

The many times Arno repeated her death, together with the pain and rage that consumed her during those days, not knowing Arno repeated that memory over and over again to try and save her.

You gotta wonder… if Élise would even be happy to see Arno once more when her most lived memory was her death.

yeah, at worst there could well be bloodshed, so everyone is trying their hardest to be on their best behavior. Edward ends up making it very clear that because he’s aware tensions might run high, everyone put their damn non-bracer weapons on those racks over there and keep their blades sheathed.

(Evie: what about if we have improvements to the bracer? like myself and Jacob and Jayadeep, and Arno? Jacob: sister no don’t tell— Edward: give me the bloody ammunition and I’ll stick it in a drawer somewhere.)

Edward thought that would be the end of it but he didn’t know about Shao Jun’s foot blade and nobody bothered to tell him XD 

I feel like Ezio would just be impressed with Arno’s Phantom Blades and that would make him miss Leonardo because Leonardo would have absolutely loved to study Arno’s bracer. In the background, Jacob and Evie are pleading their case that their grappling ‘gun’ doesn’t count as a weapon and they’re losing the fight because Edward reminded them that Evie did use it to shoot at CORMAC so, yeah, it counts as an unusual weapon.

Edward is definitely doing all the heavy lifting at this point, especially since Altaïr, Ezio and Ratonhnhaké:ton are currently in mother-hen mode, Desmond sometimes look ready to have an existential crisis of his own and seemed to be a master of ‘ignoring the problem until it goes away or it hits me like a cannonball’ which would either work for him or is a ticking time bomb. Shao Jun keeps watching Shay like a hawk who looks ready to cut his ankles off (atleast, Edward is sure Shao Jun won’t immediately go for the jugular) while Aveline seemed to be a bit lost, unsure what to do other than… uuhh… play that minigame about ships that his ‘game’ is supposed to have and, honestly, Edward was pretty sure she’s just trying to keep herself busy while she’s sorting out what she wants to do with her life.

So yeah, Edward knows as much as everyone about what Desmond’s life is but his focus is on the people, not the organization at large. When everyone doesn’t look like they’re just a step away from questioning their very existence then he’ll focus on what the hell has happened to the Brotherhood. 

But he knows he can’t show it so he makes light comments and jokes around. Even talk about something hopeful, like finding Adé.

He knows he’s hit a sore spot when Haytham choked on his drink and Shay froze. And… Edward has an idea on why. He had seen the understanding in Haytham and Shay’s expressions when Desmond talked about the Great Purge. The horror that replaced Shay’s expression while Haytham’s face darkened when Desmond talked about how the Templars killed children during the Great Purge simply because they had come from Assassin families. How those who weren’t killed were taken instead, to become subjects for experiments like the Animus Project.

It doesn’t take much for Edward to realize what has happened to the Brotherhood once Shay had defected to the Templars.

From the way his own grandson glanced at Haytham and Shay when Edward talked about trying to look for Adé, he knew…

He knew that he’d have to make a hard choice later on.

Would it be kinder if he let Adé stay as simply a memory?

And if it was, who was he being kind to? 

Adé?

Or his son?

Ohhhh, hell yeah. Juno should build her own corrupted and I like the idea that we’re using people that are ‘close’ to our Assassins instead of their main antagonist. Would really up the angst.

So, for this situation, I guess we’re going for…

Edward: Adéwalé (maybe Juno manipulates him into thinking Edward is the corrupted one because why else would he be on the same side as a Templar even if it was his son?)

Haytham: How about Kaniehtí:io?

Shay: Either Liam or Hope. Liam for more childhood friend turned enemy setup, Hope for more of that ‘maybe love? Maybe not?’ tragic setup they had going. Or… both of them because Shay is a special boy (and we show our love when special boys suffer)

Shao Jun: Okay, honestly I feel like Zhu Jiuyuan or Xiao Hu would be our best bet for this one since they’re one of the few people we know Shao Jun was actually close with. So it’s a toss up between Shao Jun’s old mentor or her apprentice that she knew since he was a child.

Aveline: Honestly, I feel like Madeleine would make the most impact. The feeling of having to kill her stepmother again and Madeleine just being her usual kind self to Aveline, telling her they can wake up her father and be a family again… Would definitely add more omph in how she doesn’t know what she wants to do with her life right now.

Jacob: Roth

Henry: I’m thinking his father maybe?

Meanwhile, Desmond and his three main ancestors are just chilling. Just a totally different genre from the rest. Then Evie stumbles and… well… things are gonna get messy soon enough.

I kinda like the idea that the four don’t have any corrupted counterparts, mainly because their ‘games’ are isolated from the others but if you want them to join the fray and get their own corrupted counterparts…

Altaïr: Malik, of course. It would be funny (in an angst-y way) if it was Kadar and their entire conflict is how Juno had corrupted Kadar into hating Altaïr for letting him die. 

Ezio: I’m leaning towards Claudia but Juno would probably pick Leonardo and make him mad with the visions of the Apple to be her very own ‘inventor’ 

Ratonhnhaké:ton: I’m thinking Kanen'tó:kon? Or maybe Achilles for a double-hammy with Shay.

Evie: that was a special case! Edward: just hand over the bloody rope spools— Jacob: oh come on, Kenway, it gets us up places faster! Edward: you can climb like the rest of us. hand over the ropes.

Aveline and Edward occasionally leaning over and rooting for their little fleet to expand across the Atlantic. whenever they lose a ship in a ship battle Aveline holds a little funeral for it and Edward eulogizes the poor ship, even tho technically the thing never actually existed. Edward does ask her once or twice if she wants to head out and take a few ships for the fleet minigame since hey, look, the Jackdaw/Aquila fusion sitting in the harbor over there would make mincemeat out of any other ship, with its combined capabilities.

I can absolutely see Jacob, Henry and Arno having to do a co-op mission together (like the mission where you have to save Paton from the guillotine), but the mission is glitchy and weird and they not only have to fulfill the objective, they also have to repair the world somehow, by tracking down things and people that are not from French Revolution Paris—what are those WWI soldiers doing here, oh shit that plague doctor is from the Renaissance era, that sort of thing. and then they have to shove or guide these wayward bits of other simulations into a server bridge, while ALSO fulfilling the objective, and also avoiding Blighters and extremists and the very angry guards

And Ratonhnhaké:ton watches from the docks as Edward and Aveline sail the Jackdaw/Aquila ship.

Wanna make it fun?

It’s during the time Edward was teaching Aveline to sail that they encountered their first ‘ghost ship’.

Edward doesn’t recognize it but it started firing at them as it continued to glitch quickly. They managed to evade a lot of the attacks and Aveline managed to hit it thrice with the cannons but the ship itself seemed almost invincible as the glitching made it harder to hit it as some parts would disappear because of the glitch only to reappear.

They don’t know it yet but the ship’s name?

It’s Experto Crede.

This way, we’ll get naval battles with the Aquila/Jackdaw being chased by Expecto Credo (Adéwalé), Queen Anne’s Revenge (Thatch), Ranger (Vane), Revenge (Bonnet), William (Jack + Mary + Anne) and Benjamin (Hornigold).

And then…

Just as they were being overwhelmed…

Bartholomew Roberts’ Royal Fortune sails at the center and they could see both Bartholomew and Juno as Juno holds an Apple of Eden that left golden wisps all around the other ships.

(Up to you if they are all actually being controlled by Juno or Juno is using Edward’s memories to create dolls that looked like them but doesn’t actually ‘act’ at all. Only Adéwalé and Mary (maybe Anne too?) are the ones looking like they were actually alive. I kinda want Thatch to also be able to get out of Juno’s control but that’s just because I think Thatch is so badass so we can make Thatch possessed his doll and ram his ship maybe XD)

And when they get to New York, it’s glitchy as hell and they all try to run towards the harbor but Shay hears them…

The whispers…

He manages to block one of the surprise attacks from the Stalkers and then that’s when he hears it.

“Shay Cormac!”

And his eyes widened when he sees Hope on one of the rooftops. Her eyes were glowing just like Evie had described and her voice… sounded off.

Like there was a cacophony of whispers surrounding her words as she tells Shay that she can’t let him live.

Shay hesitate for just a second before he reacts when Haytham shouts his name, dodging a two prong attack from two more stalkers.

The stalkers starts to glitch as they took a few steps back before they disappeared.

Before glitching back into Shay’s side and Shay barely managed to dodge out of the way before they glitched once more and disappeared.

“Go!” Shay shouts at the others, “They’re after me!”

“But…”

Haytham sighs and walk towards Shay as he says, “Go. We will take care of this and follow you.”

Shay turns to give Ratonhnhaké:ton a small smile as he says, “Take care of Morrigan, alright?”

“Of course.” Ratonhnhaké:ton nodded before they all run as Shay and Haytham stay behind.

They start to fight off the glitching stalkers and Hope joins in, glitching in and out of their visions and trying to strike them both down. They fight back to back to make it even just a bit more easier by making it impossible for their enemies to glitch onto their blind spots.

They’re slowly gaining grounds as they start to see a pattern into the glitching of the stalkers and Hope when Haytham is suddenly tackled and skid across.

Haytham instinctively grabbed the hands of his attacker as they try to plunge a dagger straight to his throat, his eyes going wild as he recognized…

“Ziio?”

How about Arno and the Syndicate trio were doing a coop mission because Jacob suggested they do a ‘warm up’? During their coop mission is when the servers began to glitch out and everything starts becoming FUBAR and Jacob and Evie swore they saw Lydia running ahead of them as they try to run across the WWI battlefield before finding another glitchy portal that returns them to French Revolution Paris… and that’s when…

The segment with Edward sounds very interesting! It does make me wonder, if Thatch is able to break free from Juno’s control, if Mary and/or Anne would be able to as well and ‘wake up’ as everyone else did and join the crew in their mission if Thatch buys them time to escape? If they did, I can certainly see Edward eagerly introducing whoever joins them to the others.

I wonder if Adewale would be able to break free from Juno’s control, as well? Or would he still be manipulated by her and would need more convincing?

I am obligated to do this first of all:

Desmond would loovveee to be transported to AC1 in this case because THERE are NO SUBTITLES there. Can’t check the subtext IF THERE’S NO TEXT.

Okay, so my eternal annoyance for AC1 not having subtitles out of the way, let’s talk about how this would play out.

For those unfamiliar with that scene, it’s the Fuss episode and this is the closest I could find (start at 3:30ish)

And, and, and, let’s make it much more complicated because we are talking about text in this case.

So there’s this visual novel (there’s an anime too but if you have to, please check the manga adaptation instead) called Umineko No Naku Koro Ni wherein there’s this whole ‘who dunnit’ mystery going on that the main character must solve. I’m not going to go on details but the important thing to note is that they use colored text in the series as part of the ‘game mechanics’. We’re only going to make use of one:

The Red Truth.

Anything said in red is the truth. It is the undeniable truth.

However, anything said in red may be open to interpretation.

Anything said in red is the truth but it does not mean it is the entire truth.

Making the subtext more about saying the truth would make him all the more paranoid.

Because Desmond would rely on the red truths.

And Desmond could mistake it for the full truth.

So, for example, Bill could be saying “It’s alright if you can’t do it. Just keep trying.”

And the red just behind Bill would say,

“William Miles expects Desmond Miles to be able to do this.”

Which is the truth but it leaves out the part that Bill is saying he expects Desmond would be able to attain this specific skill with time and training.

Desmond would assume it means that Bill is lying.

So this red truth? The subtext it is meant to show? It’s undeniable but it can be vague or can be misinterpreted.

Because it operates on fae truth rules.

Also, the entire setup with Lucy would make Project Siren hard to accomplish because Desmond had to live with the Red Truth his entire life so he knows that what he needs to look out for is what the Red Truth isn’t saying.

“I’m on your side, Desmond.” “Lucy Stillman is trying to help mankind.”

“Warren isn’t that bad.” “Lucy Stillman is indebted to Warren Vidic.”

“I’m an Assassin… like you.” “Lucy Stillman was born and raised to be an Assassin.”

…

…

Wanna make it all the more confusing? Like reaching half of Umineko level of confusion?

His ancestors can see the Red Truths as well.

But that's not all they can do. Not all Desmond could do.

Altaïr’s talks with Al Mualim are filled with Red Truths about how Al Mualim believes what he’s saying, how he’s doing what he believes is right.

Then Desmond hears Altaïr talk and…

“If humanity is meant to be guided then does that not go against our wish to protect humanity’s free will?”

It’s blue.

Desmond had never seen blue text before.

But Altaïr seemed to understand what it is. His synchronization with Altaïr tells him what it means.

It wasn’t directed at Al Mualim at all.

The Blue Truth is meant to be anything directly questioning or opposing the Red Truth.

And Desmond’s eyes widened as a new text appear even though Al Mualim did not say anything.

“Al Mualim’s desire is to control, not to guide. Do not let him know you know, Altaïr.”

It’s gold.

And Altaïr’s connection tells him what the Gold Text means.

It’s called the Gold Truth.

And it is a truth that is always directed at Altaïr.

So he tries it out once he's relatively safe (could escape easily if he wants to, already cased out the warehouse for every possible exit point), talks to Lucy who has been ringing red flags all over from the very beginning and he goes “Lucy, you said Vidic saved your life, right?”

“Yeah, when I was in Abstergo.” “Warren Vidic stopped Lucy Stillman from being executed.”

“He’s a Templar and he saved you…” Desmond focused on the red text as he said, “Doesn’t that make you compromised?”

All three of them stared at him and Lucy’s lips moved but she could only let out “I- Desmond, I’m not-”

Shaun and Rebecca immediately defend their friend but Desmond pays their Red Truths of “Shaun Hastings trust Lucy Stillman.” and “Rebecca Crane is trying to diffuse the situation but she is offended for her friend.” no mind focused on the Red Text of “Warren Vidic stopped Lucy Stillman from being executed.” as it changes to…

“Lucy Stillman is a Templar. She is using you to find Ezio's Apple, Desmond.”

Just to clarify, I am messing with what the Blue and Gold Truths are meant to represent in Umineko. It’s… more complicated than that in Umineko BUT, for this idea:

Red Truth: Truths pertaining to the world or the people around Desmond (and his ancestors)

Blue Truth: Possible truths that Desmond (and his ancestors) can only use to ask for clarification or to challenge the Red Truth being given to them.

Gold Truth: Truth that seemed to be directly talking to Desmond (and his ancestors). Can only appear if a Blue Truth is spoken.

And, yeah, the Gold Truth? It’s the Readers trying to push what he is allowed to do in the Gray.

It could get even more interesting in Ezio's memories, with a traitor being the reason his family dies and people hiding from him that they are assassins.

Well, the red truth is meant to be impartial but I did think the red truth is meant to be vague or misleading when it’s about truths that can change the timeline.

Also, if I remember correctly, Ezio didn’t know about the Templars when his father and brothers were imprisoned.

So even if he went to Uberto to deliver the documents Giovanni had ordered him to give, the red truth could say:

“Uberto Alberti is a Templar.”

And Ezio wouldn’t understand the importance of that truth.

Then he would see Rodrigo just as the door closed and the red truth could go, “Rodrigo Borgia is the current Grand Master of the Templar Order.”

Ezio would have lived his entire life seeing red truths and would probably think they’re just additional information of who Uberto and that man were.

Which really, only means that Ezio would feel guilt once he learned the truth about the Brotherhood and the Order and realize that he could have done something had he known the importance of being called a Templar meant.

It’s also worth noting that the golden truth only appears if Desmond or any of his ancestors challenge or directly ask the red truth. Altaïr knows how to do it but Desmond only knew that it was possible when Altaïr began to openly challenge Al Mualim.

So, if we truly wish to keep the Auditore tragedy at play, we can set this up that Ezio didn’t know that one can challenge or ‘talk to’ the red truth until he recovered a Codex page that talks about it. A page that everyone thinks hides information behind a cryptic message but Ezio recognizes it as pretty blatant.

The red speaks the truth but it also omits and uses words that can be misinterpreted. I believe the red is shackled to the rules of this world, rules placed to ensure that time flows as dictated by those who had decided our fates. Destiny, some might call.

But the blue that we speak of to question the red is a sign of our free will. Perhaps some would say that we who speak the blue are the chosen ones but I disagree.

I believe the blue is a gift to challenge fate itself. To change what has been predetermined and to carve a new path.

I believe the gold is the reason why the blue exists. That the gold is shackled by this notion of fate and predetermined destiny as well yet it is fighting the shackles, giving us the blue to help us push forward and to call for its aid.

The gold is not impartial nor is it objective. It is a guide and a warning. An answer to the blue and acts as either a contradiction or a support of the red.

It is also kind and lonely and I cannot help but wonder.

If there is any way we who can use the blue can help the gold at all.

So Ezio tries it out first, maybe he talks to Claudia in Villa Auditore.

“Claudia, do you remember when we were children and I had that wooden horse toy that went missing?”

Claudia stared at him with a frown, wondering why he was talking about such an old toy all of a sudden. Her confusion is clear in her tone as she answered, “Yes?”

“Did you take it?”

“Of course not. Why would I take it?” “Claudia Auditore stole Ezio Auditore’s toy horse.”

Ezio mentally punched the air as he thought ‘I KNEW IT!’ loudly in his head.

Now…

How was he supposed to ask the red truth?

Well… he could be direct about it, he guessed.

“If my dear sister did steal it, why would she not say the truth?”

“Ezio, I’m telling you-” Ezio ignored Claudia’s words and focused on the red, eyes going wild when the red text just on top of Claudia’s head changed to gold.

“Because Claudia accidentally broke it and hid it under Federico’s bed to frame him. Federico saw the broken toy and they both decided to keep it quiet after giving it a funeral. This is not how you’re supposed to use the gold truth, Ezio.”

Okay.

He wasn’t expecting that.

But also…

The one writing these gold text…

It knew Ezio.

OOOOOOOO That would be interesting in AC3

I haven’t really thought all that well about how the modern-day setting would go since Desmond would know immediately that Lucy is a Templar the moment he uses the blue truth so Desmond could either run away if he feels that Shaun and Rebecca wouldn’t believe him and trust Lucy over him or he’d stay compliant for now while trying to prove Lucy’s betrayal (I’m leaning more on the first idea because, let’s remember, at this point, he hasn’t really bonded all that well with Shaun and Rebecca and he has a strained relationship with the Brotherhood in general so running away from them could be considered a good choice in his eyes). If he does run away, that would mean he wouldn’t have any chance to relive Ratonhnhaké:ton’s (and Haytham’s) memories in the Animus unless he does a Layla and steals an Animus of his own. Ezio’s later memories could come to him because of the Bleeding Effect. Hell, he could steal an Animus of his own because the gold truth tells him that the only way to stop the Bleeding Effect from taking over this severely would be to ‘finish’ Ezio’s memories and reach a Synch Nexus with him.

So the modern-day setting is kinda iffy at the moment, although I am liking the idea that Desmond has gone rogue and he’s using the golden truth as some kind of guide to plan what he’s doing next. Since the golden truth is connected to the Reader, the Reader is pushing him to still relive Ezio’s and Ratonhnhaké:ton’s memories, maybe even have Desmond steal the black box that Lucy took from Abstergo’s Animus so he could have Clay’s data and Clay could be his digital assistant.

And I think I was only sorta implying it but the truth is, the golden truth only starts to appear because Desmond started reliving the memories of his ancestors. It was the key the Reader needed to connect with Desmond Miles’ ancestors so it only really start to make waves that changed the timeline when the ancestor starts using the blue truth to talk to the Reader.

When Charles Lee attacked the village, the red only says “Charles Lee has been ordered to find and attack Ratonhnhaké:ton’s village.” so Ratonhnhaké:ton knows Lee is the middleman and he’s now looking for the one who ordered the attack.

So in Ratonhnhaké:ton’s case, he doesn’t know how to use the blue truth until he left the village and he accidentally learned about it when he was questioning Achilles.

“Achilles Davenport is the only Assassin left in the colonies.”

“Why are you the only Assassin left?”

Ratonhnhaké:ton had wanted to ask that question to Achilles himself and Achilles simply said, “That is none of your concern, boy.”

But the red truth that had been floating to the right of Achilles’ head turned gold as it said, “The Colonial Assassins have been destroyed by an Assassin turned Templar named Shay Cormac. It is a painful topic for Achilles and he will only grow distant if you keep pressing, Ratonhnhaké:ton.”

Ratonhnhaké:ton doesn’t know the origin behind the words he would see (words written in his native language) but his mother once told him that it was a gift of some kind that must not be spoken out loud less people would use him for it so he kept quiet about it.

So when he met Haytham Kenway who Achilles had told him to be the Grand Master of the Colonial Rites of the Templar Order, he directed his question to the red that stated “Haytham Kenway is the current Grand Master of the Colonial Rites of the Templar Order.”

“Did you order Charles Lee to attack my village?”

“No, I did not.” Haytham answered and the gold that replaced the red truth that had been floating to the right of Haytham supported it, “Haytham Kenway ordered that your village be left alone. Charles Lee ignored that order.”

Then another gold appeared just below it.

“He does not know who had ordered Charles Lee to attack the village.”

So when the fallout between him, Haytham, and Washington finally happened, Ratonhnhaké:ton remembered that the gold specifically said that Haytham didn’t know who ordered the attack so he turned to ask the red that stated “Haytham Kenway is speaking the truth. George Washington ordered Charles Lee to attack the village.”

“When did you learn that Washington ordered the attack?”

He didn’t bother to listen to Haytham’s words and instead read the golden truth that replaced the red above his head.

“He learned a few days ago but, Ratonhnhaké:ton, he is using this information to drive a wedge between you and Washington. He’s doing it to keep you from supporting Washington’s cause. I’m sorry, Ratonhnhaké:ton.”

And that’s when Haytham asks him, “You’re talking to him, aren’t you?”

“What?”

“The gold.” Haytham stated and Ratonhnhaké:ton’s eyes widened at those words. Haytham tilted his head as he asked, “Have you asked him who he is yet, Connor?”

“What do you mean…”

Haytham leaned forward as he whispered, “He is the Templar's Father of Understanding.”

Your thoughts on a Time Travel-ish fic where Desmond gets yeeted back to a little bit before Altaïr’s time and Bayek, Kassandra, Alexios, and f!Eivor become basically immortal bc of POE/Isu bullshit?

And then all the main characters after that become immortal bc of POE/Isu bullshit (including Desmond) so they’re just slowly gathering a bunch of immortal Assassin/some Templars and winging it til they hit the modern day era.

If you like to add a vampire spin to it, here’s the vampire idea a while back that does include a lot of main characters (but not all) getting turned into vampires.

Now, for this idea, let’s set up some things first.

Desmond is the primary immortal and nobody knows how it works.

They stop aging once they die and are revived for the first time.

There will always be a minute of death before their revival. (spawn rate)

Since we want to cover all main AC characters (although I love the fact that we didn’t include Basim in that list. Mirage isn’t out yet, Basim doesn’t count yet, I guess XD), I know you asked for Desmond being yeeted a little before Altaïr’s time so I’m hope you’re fine with Desmond being yeeted before or during Kassandra and Alexios’ time period. (I mean how 'little' is open for interpretations I say)

And how about we make this a little bit more interesting?

Desmond gets yeeted into the time of the Isus. To be more specific, he gets thrown into Minerva’s ‘temple’ during the final days before the Solar Flare.

He’s disoriented and maybe just ‘a bit’ traumatized because of the pain he felt when he activated the device so all he could do was try to understand what Minerva was saying.

About how she’s trying to save his life. That he must do what they all fail to do.

Find the true source of this anomaly, this singularity point that ensures a catastrophe hits Earth every few millennia regardless of what they do.

Because, and this is important, Desmond, even if you save the world from the Solar Flare, another catastrophe will happen. It is inevitable.

But you can find the reason why it has to be that way.

Desmond…

No matter what happens.

Never give up.

Keep looking.

I will do all I can to give you as much help as possible.

And Desmond falls asleep when Minerva pushes him into some kind of device that looked like a water bed.

When he wakes up, he finds himself staring at a confused-looking woman clad in armor.

The Layla Trilogy:

Desmond has no clue what this singularity point is meant to be but he assumes that he’s meant to find it now that he’s woken up… 2 millennia before his time, Jesus Christ.

Kassandra was just looking around the supposed ruins of Athena’s first temple. She believes he’s a demigod or a human turned demigod by Athena. She also thought he might even be Erichthonius but that idea was scrapped when Desmond showed her just how little he knows of the Ancient Greek world. He joins her because it’s not like he has any other clue and Kassandra traveling made it clear that he could cover more grounds if he stayed with her.

It’s because of Desmond’s intervention that Alexios (as Deimos) isn’t killed and the siblings’ relationship is rocky but Alexios stays with them in the Adrestria even if it usually comes down to Kassandra and Desmond making sure Alexios’ temper doesn’t get them into trouble. (Whether the other family members survive is your call).

In the end, it’s the whole Atlantis DLC that makes Kassandra and Alexios accidentally (or is it an accident, Minerva?) immortal. Desmond’s inclusion into the ‘vision’ screwed up the Isu tech and whatever is keeping Desmond immortal is copied into Kassandra and Alexios. They don’t realize it until later on when Alexios dies during a very fierce battle. Then a minute passed while Kassandra cradles her baby brother in her arms as she cries, Alexios opens his eyes and gasps loudly. Kassandra and Desmond would realize they’re immortal as well later on. No matter what they ask, Aletheia in the staff (Desmond doesn’t trust her one bit) doesn’t say anything at all. Desmond believes that their immortality might have been caused by one of the many POEs he had with him at the moment (he’s been hoarding every POE they find).

In this setup, Alexios would be Aya’s ancestor and it’d be more of a one-night stand that happened because Alexios was feeling a bit off that day and wanted some company. Whether they learn Aya is Alexios’ descendant is up to you. They meet Bayek during the Curse of the Pharaoh DLC while they were checking out the ‘curse’ and this is another case of Desmond’s immortality getting passed into Bayek while the POE is shrouding all of Thebes. Maybe even during the time they were in the Duat and Desmond is seeing people who haven’t even been born yet and that’s how he believed his desire to destroy the lies being shown to him caused Bayek to be infected by his immortality. They don’t know Bayek is immortal though but Bayek knows they’re immortal (maybe make one of them die in front of Bayek? They’ve become quite prone to risky actions because they know they can’t die) so when he realized he was immortal, he starts looking for them.

Eivor met them on the Isle of the Skye and Desmond’s immortality infects her during that time as well (maybe during the final confrontation with the POE?) but, as usual, they don’t know that yet. What happens is that Eivor returns to Ravensthorpe and the story continued until the end of AC Valhalla, maybe a few days later, Reda (who may or may not be an avatar of Minerva or her sage or something, the point is his immortality is not connected to Desmond’s… maaayybbee) introduces her to an old friend of his who is looking for someone who looks a lot like Randvi, a man going by the name Amun. At that point, Eivor already knows she’s immortal, Basim slicing her throat during their final confrontation was a dead giveaway, and Reda introduced them as ‘two people of similar circumstances’. They both realized that they’re immortals and Bayek (who Eivor knows as Amun) believes that the answer to their questions is with Desmond and the Spartan siblings (they’re not, they don’t even know they’ve been leaving immortals behind) so Eivor leaves Ravensthorpe to find Desmond and the other with Bayek, promising to come back once she has all the answers.

They finally catch up to Desmond and the others around late 1100s and Desmond doesn’t know how but he’s sure he’s the reason why they’re all immortals now. Without any other information, all they can do is be cautious and, later on, they decide that Desmond shouldn’t get too close to other people until they’re sure on how this entire immortality thing gets activated. Of course, that only means Desmond would feel bored (and maybe have bad reminders of his life on the Farm) so he was just walking a busy marketplace to take some time off his own spiraling thoughts, just looking around and that’s when he bumps into Altaïr.

Desmond’s Ancestors (Part 1):

Desmond didn’t even know Altaïr would be around these parts. Why would he? All he knew during this time was that Altaïr went with Maria to go travel, he didn’t know just how far the two had traveled during that time. Desmond desperately tries to get away because, fuck, there’s no way that he was going to mess up Altaïr’s life even if he desperately wants to because he has no idea what will happen to him if he messes Altaïr’s life so badly that Desmond Miles wouldn’t be born centuries from now. This only makes Altaïr interested in him and it ends with Desmond joining Altaïr and Maria in their travels, sorta forgetting to tell anybody else that he might have been half-kidnapped/half-went along with it?

So the current immortality gang is out looking for him while he’s making a life in Masyaf, becoming like an uncle to Altaïr’s children. Desmond keeps trying to tell Altaïr that Abbas is too dangerous to keep alive but Altaïr won’t listen, thinking that Abbas would not stoop as low as Desmond says, especially when the Apple doesn’t show him anything bad happening with Abbas. By this point, Desmond had told Altaïr everything so Altaïr know Desmond knows of a future but he insists that that future is no longer their future because they have changed things.

Altaïr and Maria still go with Darim to assassinate Genghis Khan but Desmond stays behind to keep an eye on Abbas. Unfortunately, this gets him captured and it’s only because of Desmond’s warning that Malik survived, taking Sef’s wife and children out of Masyaf on Sef’s orders while Sef stays behind to save Desmond. It ends in tragedy as Sef dies in Desmond’s arms instead even though Desmond begs for whatever is keeping him immortal to save Sef, to make him immortal as well. Desmond is taken deeper into Masyaf and tested on to find the reason for his immortality instead.

Altaïr’s return is heralded by a civil war between those who sided with Abbas and the Assassins Malik rallied. In the battle, Maria dies in Altaïr’s arms as well and, if you really want to hammer in the pain, Malik falls as well. When they finally took Masyaf back, Altaïr finds Desmond in the deepest part of Masyaf alive but… well… it’s not a pretty sight. Just as he frees a catatonic Desmond, Abbas stabs him from behind and Desmond snaps out of it, screaming as Altaïr falls into his arms. Remembering how Sef dies in his arms the same way breaks Desmond. Altaïr dies in his arms and revives a minute later, much to Abbas’ surprise. In the end, Altaïr kills Abbas and takes Masyaf back.

After the funerals are done and Masyaf starts healing, Altaïr tells the new mentor (Malik if he’s still alive or Darim if Malik is already dead) that he and Desmond are leaving Masyaf. That this place is simply too painful for Desmond right now and the only way he can heal is to be away from this place. The mentor agrees because they both know how much Desmond blames himself for the death of the people he and Altaïr loved. That not even Altaïr telling him it’s not his fault could reach him.

So they leave and a few days later the immortality gang reaches Masyaf but everyone is tight-lipped about what happened and if they know anyone that looks like Desmond (there were rumors that the people of Masyaf were experimenting on how to achieve eternal life and such). So it took them a long time for the mentor to confide what had happened (that’s fine with them though because they trust Desmond can take care of himself (oh boy) and they’re immortals, they have all the time they need) and the mentor isn’t sure where Desmond and Altaïr could be.

They’re in Monteriggioni. Of course, they’re in Monteriggioni. Desmond talked and showed Monteriggioni to Altaïr and his sons so Altaïr knew how much Desmond loved the town. They stayed there because Altaïr was hoping Desmond could heal there and Altaïr accidentally sorta-maybe bought the place while it was just a little thing and started expanding and stuff. They’re always known as descendants of themselves and they’re rumored to be brothers or cousins or something, anyway, the point is the town’s connection with the Assassins is a very hush-hush affair and the Italian Brotherhood grows with Altaïr’s assistance while Desmond just… does whatever he wants.

Desmond meets Ezio as a child when the Auditore family visits the town to pay their respect and Altaïr sees how happy Desmond is to play with Ezio and his siblings. He suggests that they vacation in Florence once in a while to visit the Auditores and Desmond agrees.

The Auditore execution doesn’t happen because Altaïr’s presence makes the Italian Brotherhood be more incognito. Giovanni is still loyal to Lorenzo (an ongoing headache of Altaïr’s) and he’s the mentor of the Italian Brotherhood while Altaïr has more of an advisory role but his connection to the other Assassins was great enough that he was able to coordinate a rescue mission when Giovanni was arrested. Federico and Claudia (who learned enough to fight in secret thanks to her Tio Desmond) were in the house and they got the others out while Giovanni stayed behind so he was the only one arrested and the Auditore family is given asylum in Monteriggioni.

Of course, the whole rescue plan had been in the making for a while now as a ‘last resort’ since Desmond told Altaïr what would happen and this pushes Ezio, Federico, and Claudia to join the Brotherhood in hopes of avenging what has happened to them.

Same thing happened as canon. The actions of the Italian Brotherhood (really, Ezio and his siblings) catch the attention of the immortality gang who finally catches up but they accidentally thought Ezio was the immortal with Desmond named Altaïr and that’s how Ezio learns about the whole immortality thing.

Ezio finds out he’s immortal after Rodrigo stabs him and he dies but revives. He believes his other siblings aren’t immortal though because he saw Minerva’s message for Desmond and it’s already changed. She’s speaking to Ezio and she tells him to “keep Desmond in check”. To make sure he remembers his mission. Ezio believes it’s not Desmond who gives immortality to random people but Minerva. That this immortality thing is something Minerva prepared to keep Desmond ‘safe’ and ‘focused’.

Desmond would have easily said that Minerva is going by a list of people Desmond cared about but he didn’t even know about Kassandra, Alexios, Bayek and Eivor before his death so that idea gets thrown out before it even fully forms.

Anyway, it ends with the immortality gang going on a newly refitted and upgraded Adrestia to start looking for this singularity point with Altaïr giving Monteriggioni to Petruccio who had been taking care of the finances and the little details for a while now. They stop by Constantinople as well and Ezio falls in love with Sofia, maybe he stays with her for a while and have two children? Idk. Anyway, the Auditore line continues…

Into the Kenway line…

Yeah, see that part one? Yeah, it’s because this got too long and I only answer/reblog on tumblr on a specific time frame to make sure I get things done. Sorry XD

Desmond’s Ancestors (Part 2):

So the immortality gang are all in Adestria and they’re quite the mighty crew at this point. They’re sailing the world, trying to find possible locations of this singularity point all the while just enjoying each other’s company. Truly, this is one of the most peaceful time of their immortal lives, all things considered.

Of course they’re also trying to understand how Desmond’s immortality pass-the-batton work. Ezio still thinks it’s Minerva who controls who becomes immortal and who doesn’t but the others are still in the fence.

During this time, Altaïr does what he does best and set ups Brotherhoods all around with Bayek and Ezio getting roped into helping him (quite enthusiastically). That’s how they meet one of Ah Tabai’s most promising recruits, Mary Read. They stay in the West Indies for a bit to give Altaïr, Bayek and Ezio time to train the recruits and help the transition from Altaïr to Ah Tabai for the mentorship of the West Indies Brotherhood. During this time, Desmond gets to know Mary and there’s this… strange connection. Something he is sure isn’t his but there’s always this hint of grief whenever he’s with Mary and that only makes Desmond seek her out more.

There’s a bit of misunderstanding as Mary thought he likes her (as in like-like) but the entire Immortality gang just looks at each other and are like “Naaaahhh”. No offense to Mary but it’s not that. If anything, Desmond probably sees Mary like a daughter. This only confuses Mary even more because she can’t be that much older than Desmond.

Anyway, the Golden Age of Pirates start and the Adrestia isn’t necessarily a pirate ship but they roll with it because they’d rather be called pirates that fucking privateers anyway. They get access to Nassau and that’s when Desmond first sees Edward Kenway. He’s already wearing the Assassin robes of Duncan Walpole (who, in this case, was also trying to find the enigmatic Assassin who creates Brotherhoods and bureaus wherever he goes, only known by the title “Altaïr”). Of course, seeing Edward wearing Assassin robes without even understanding the Creed is a bit annoying (understatement) and Edward just thinks they’re a cult (“He’s not wrong.” “Alexios!” “What? It’s true!”)

Anyway, Eivor gets a kick out of the ‘raiding’ portion of naval combats and the Adestria is known as the ‘nice pirates’. They’d leave merchant ships alone and only attack those who attack them first. They try not to get too involved with the pirates though because they are trying to focus their attention on finding the singularity point until they learn that Edward is trying to find a way into the Observatory which has been guarded for so long because it is an Isu temple.

So, in this case, Edward and the immortality gang are kinda ‘kid don’t do this’/ ‘i’ll do what i want’ kind of scenario but Desmond definitely has a soft spot for him because he remembers him (vaguely) from Haytham’s memories. He knows there’s more to Edward than what he shows and Edward is both weirded out by Desmond and also starts to grow fond of him. He’s definitely Edward’s favorite of the cult pirates.

Desmond also joins the Jackdaw at times, mostly saying that he ran away because everyone was being ‘too careful’ with him. Edward assumes Desmond means that everyone is worrying over him because when Edward does see them together, it’s clear that they’re very protective of Desmond. It’s not like Edward would ever think that the main reason is because Desmond is the most important immortal of all.

Anyway, he still gets captured during the final years of the Golden Age and he learns that Mary and Anne are also captured. The immortality gang helps them escape and they saw Mary in dire conditions after giving birth to her daughter. Edward and Desmond help her to get out while the others run distractions and Ah Tabai takes Anne. Mary dies in their arms and she has her moment with Edward while she asks Desmond to find her daughter and take care of her. They can’t stay all that long but Desmond refuses to leave her body behind so they take it. During the ensuing escape, Mary is reborn (after one minute) and everyone is so surprised but they manage to escape. This meant that Ah Tabai, Anne and Edward learns about the whole immortality thing.

Edward becomes an Assassin and the rest of the Black Flag storyline goes as usual with him on the helm of the Adrestia with the rest of the immortality gang and Anne. Anne thinks she’s not immortal though but her baby is saved (maybe they have a more advanced medical practice this time around thanks to all the tinkering Altaïr did with the Apple and Desmond’s own ‘medical drama’ knowledge that wasn’t really all that helpful other than… give ideas to start from I guess?).

Anyway, they get Mary’s daughter and Mary, Anne and Edward decide to go back to London with Jenny and Mary promises Desmond that she’ll come find them later. For now, she just wants to ‘try out’ a different life.

Whether Edward and Mary (and Anne) are romantically linked or not is up to you in this one. The main point is that Haytham would have three siblings this time around.

Annnddd I’m gonna end this update here for now due to time constraints and also because I want to ask…

Desmond’s Ancestors (Part 3 - Edward)

So, while the Immortality gang continue to try and find the singularity point, Edward (with Mary and Anne) live with their children in London. Haytham will still have Tessa as his mother (for the necessary genes) and Tessa becomes Edward’s wife.

If we’re going for the polycule route for Edward-Mary-Anne, Tessa feels threatened by his relationship with Mary and Anne even if she’s Edward’s official wife. If it’s purely platonic between Edward, Mary and Anne, Tessa thinks that Edward is lying and sleeping with them. Either way, it ends with Tessa being ‘seduced’ by Birch into becoming a Templar. The Templar heard rumors that one of the women (Mary or Anne) might be an immortal but they have their guard up so they used Tessa’s access inside the Kenway mansion to spring a trap.

This means that instead of Edward dying because of freaking ‘thugs’ (seriously, Ubisoft???), he is actually shot by Tessa from behind while they’re alone (with Mary and Anne taking the other children out of the mansion while Edward stayed to find Tessa and Haytham) during a Templar raid. The last thing he sees is Tessa shouting for Haytham and it’s a slow painful death because Tessa accidentally (or maybe not) shot him on the spleen. He lives long enough for Mary to find him when she came back after making sure Anne has the other children safe and sound with the Brotherhood.

Edward dies in Mary’s arms while the Assassins she took with her chase down the Templars and Edward revives to see Mary crying. They find out he’s immortal too but they hid it from the other Assassins and they talk to Anne about what Edward saw and what they learned ( shoutout to @thewolfprince for guessing what I had planned to make sure Haytham becomes a Templar XD)

So Tessa took Haytham and left with Birch, with the Templars going into hiding afterward. A few days later, someone torched the Kenway mansion and they’re pretty sure it’s one of the Templars who had either done it themselves or they paid someone to do it for them.

Either way, the three decide to sorta split up. Anne with Jenny and the other two children would stay in London to work with the other Assassins (and to make sure someone is always ready to welcome Haytham back if he manages to return by himself) and Anne would take care of training their children to be Assassins.

Edward and Mary would find a way to contact and meet up with the Adrestia because Mary believes they could help and it would be easier to find for clues on where they took Haytham if they had their own ship.

At this point, the Adrestria is masquerading as a merchant ship (and they do have supplies and such that they sell in ports because Ezio will not, under any circumstances, allow them to be poor XD)

Anyway, Haytham is brainwashed by Birch and Tessa in believing he’d been abandoned by his family and that they never loved him anyway with Tessa laying on it thick that all he needs is his dear mummy. Really, just Tessa Mother Gothel-ing Haytham with sprinkles of “you won’t leave mummy will you?” and Birch pretending to be a good ‘father figure’.

Edward and Mary do reach the Adrestria and they say the truth about what had happened. At this point, only Altaïr and Ezio knows about how Desmond knows of ‘a future’ so they spinned it to the Apple showing Desmond that specific future where Haytham will be in the colonies at around 1754 but everyone knows that’s too long. Almost 2 decades to let Haytham be in the hands of the Templars and Desmond also stressed that, by that time, Haytham would have been lost to them. This gets Edward fired enough to shout at Desmond that his son will never be lost to him, no matter what, with Ezio placing a hand on Edward’s chest to stop him in case he tries to throttle Desmond while Altaïr grabs Desmond’s wrist and pushes him quickly behind him.

It’s Bayek who steps in and tells everyone to calm down. That panicking and getting into each other’s throat will not help Haytham at all.

For now, they decide to try and find clues using what Desmond had ‘seen’ from the Apple.

Desmond’s Ancestors (Part 4 - Haytham… sorta)

This proves much harder than they anticipated because the Templars had evolved to combat Altaïr, Ezio and Bayek’s inclusion to this timeline. They’d gone deeper underground than what Desmond is used to, focusing on keeping their Templar affiliation a secret even to one another. No one even knows who the Grand Masters are at the moment and, really, that’s the most frustrating part of all.

Since we did decide Haytham will be a Templar, the Immortality gang will be unsuccessful in saving him before he fully commits to the Templar Order. The first time they heard of Haytham, they learned he had almost killed one of his older siblings (it would be very ironic if it was Anne’s child because that child was meant to die in canon or very tragic if it was Jenny). Edward still believes he can be reasoned with and ‘saved’, Desmond keeps quiet this time because, well, he’s also conflicted.

He doesn’t want Haytham to be a Templar, someone against them, but, at the same time, he knows he risks Ratonhnhaké:ton not being born if they intercepts Haytham’s ‘fate’ too early. So he keeps quiet and tries to help as best he could when other people think of a plan but won’t think of anything that could actually help.

Altaïr and Ezio notice this but they don’t say anything because they believe Desmond has a reason for keeping quiet. The others believe Desmond is keeping quiet because he doesn’t want to push Edward further (which is kinda true)

Anyway, Haytham still goes to the colonies before the immortality gang (maybe Desmond even made sure that he had a headstart?) and they got there just after Shay left for Lisbon. Achilles is still the mentor and it only takes Altaïr a few days of observing Achilles to realize that Achilles was not in the right headspace to be the mentor at the moment. Bayek is actually the one to stop Altaïr, telling him that they all grieve differently when they lose the people they love and they should support Achilles, not reprimand him. This angers Altaïr because he knows how dangerous it is to let grief take control and his lingering guilt of how his anger and wish to avenge Sef led to Maria (and maybe Malik if we’re killing Malik off during the Civil War?) and many of his brothers dying. This makes him say words to Bayek about how he does not understand how the death of a child changes someone and Bayek tries to remain calm but Altaïr is blinded by rage that is actually for himself but he directed it to Bayek instead which leads to a… very heated ‘discussion’.

This is the trigger and Edward gets into this, all heated up and emotional, leading to Edward and Mary leaving the gang to find Haytham on their own. Altaïr takes Desmond away (who follows him willingly) in the heat of the moment and Ezio goes with them to calm Altaïr down (and because he goes wherever Desmond goes)

Kassandra tells Alexios and Eivor that she’s going to follow Edward and Mary and asks Alexios to stay with Bayek and support him as much as he can while Eivor suggests she follows Altaïr and the others to assist Ezio.

We Interrupt the Desmond’s Ancestors Part for Shay Cormac:

Anyway, Lisbon still happens and, it is by chance, that Bayek and Alexios are away from the Homestead when Shay returns and everyone becomes idiots who don’t know what the word COMMUNICATE means. Or… is it a coincidence or the hands of the calculations at play?

Oh and Hope is actually not in the homestead right now because she’s ‘monitoring’ Altaïr and the others who had taken ‘residence’ in New York. Ezio is working with her to make sure the gangs do not do anything dumb while Altaïr and Desmond busy themselves with the Grand Temple because… well, they weren’t any close to finding the singularity point so might as well prepare for the catastrophe they know of anyway.

We now return to Desmond’s Ancestors (Part 5 Ratonhnhaké:ton)

Eivor stays with Altaïr and Desmond and she gets to know the descendants of the people who had helped her when she had been in.

At this point, Ratonhnhaké:ton has been born and likes to watch them and, when he got a bit older, became bold enough to approach Desmond who was always smiling and waving at him. Altaïr and Ezio realized that this is the Ratonhnhaké:ton Desmond always talk about and, seeing his facial structure, they realized that he has to be related to Edward Kenway in some way. Desmond finally admits the real reason why he had ‘let’ Haytham become a Templar and both Altaïr and Ezio tell him that it’s not his fault. He didn’t even realize how Haytham became a Templar until they heard that Edward had been attacked and that Desmond actually thought Haytham became a Templar out of his own free will. He did everything he could. The Templars had been craftier than he had expected them to be and this was ‘inevitable’.

When Desmond is alone, Juno whispers to his ear that Altaïr and Ezio only spoke sweet words to comfort him. That it truly was Desmond’s fault. ALL of this is Desmond’s fault. Desmond remains quiet the entire time.

So same thing happened, Shay becomes a Templar, Haytham does his thing… this time though, Shay is thwarted by Ezio from killing Hope who keeps telling him they can talk about this. Hope survives but her loyalty to Achilles is shattered because she heard Shay’s side of the story first and she can’t believe it, she doesn’t want to believe it but she knew that Shay isn’t the type to lie about such things.

Edward and Mary stop Haytham and Shay from killing Adéwalé but Haytham won’t listen to Edward, calling him an abomination. During the final fight with Achilles, Liam and Shay, Liam sacrifices himself to save Achilles and tried to take Shay with him. He does succeed and Shay died together with Liam.

Only to be revived next to Liam’s dead body. The fact that he has become an immortal, an abomination as Haytham likes to call them, shakes Shay up so severely that he leaves and hides.

It’s… not really a victory as Achilles is left with a limp and Hope is the only person left of his Assassins. Achilles officially retires and Hope takes over as the mentor with both Ezio and Bayek supporting her. Adéwalé stays for a while to help Edward try to find Haytham once more but is soon called away for a more pressing Assassin-related matter.

Things change though because Eivor realized that Ratonhnhaké:ton is Haytham’s son after one of the villagers tells about how a white man had come before them and had been quite close to Kaniehtí:io. Altaïr and Ezio don’t tell Eivor they already knew and they talked about how to tell Edward about it. Desmond asks if they should even tell Edward about this, surprising Eivor. Desmond believes Kaniehtí:io should have the final say if she wants her son to know his grandfather because… well… there has to be a reason why she didn’t stay with Haytham, right? And Edward loves his son too much to not tell him about Ratonhnhaké:ton.

Everything is becoming super complicated now because, yeah, Kaniehtí:io didn’t want anyone to know that Haytham Kenway is Ratonhnhaké:ton’s father and she even threatens to cut their tongue if they tell Haytham about her son. Desmond is totally on her side about this and Eivor agrees because it’s her son. She does warn that Ratonhnhaké:ton deserves to know who his father is. Desmond countered that sometimes having no father is a better alternative than knowing your real father.

Anyway, because Eivor, Altaïr, Ezio and Desmond were nearby, the village didn’t burn but that doesn’t stop the start of the American Revolutions.

This time, though, Ratonhnhaké:ton joins Desmond and the others when they decided to return to the homestead to check up on the others and plan what they can do because his mother finally told him the truth about Haytham Kenway and he wants to meet his father himself. Ratonhnhaké:ton gets trained by Desmond and the others in the ways of the Assassins as they travel back to the Davenport homestead.

Hope is still the mentor and Bayek and Altaïr finally bury the hatchet. Kassandra is keeping them posted on where she and Edward and Mary are and they decide to follow them with Ratonhnhaké:ton joining.

American Revolutions goes more or less the same as canon but, with Charles Lee heavily beaten and almost dying, some things are bound to change. Because the Templars have become more cunning, they secretly played for both sides and George Washington becomes an ally of the Templars without him realizing it or knowing that Charles Lee (one of his main ‘rivals’) was a Templar who didn’t know that Washington was being played by the Templars as well. (It would be funny if, like, Hamilton is a Templar in this one annnnyywwwaaayy)

The Battle of the Chesapeake goes a bit differently but still ends with Ratonhnhaké:ton deciding to kill Haytham Kenway because he realizes that Haytham will forever be loyal to the Templars which means the people he loves will always be in danger as long as he lives. He did meet and got to know Edward so this is also him “doing what needs to be done so grandfather doesn’t have to” kind of deal. This does end with Haytham dying in his hands once more and he leaves Haytham for dead as he tries to kill the remaining Templar (Charles Lee? Hamilton? Idk). Ratonhnhaké:ton dies from his wound after he kills the last Templar and wakes up to see Desmond crying as he held him in his arms.

Ratonhnhaké:ton accepts being an immortal better than everyone expected and he admits that he never thought of being an immortal but now… he realized that a part of him always knew it was going to happen. Something inside him knows this was meant to happen.

They don’t know that Shay had been the one to save Haytham when he died and was revived a minute later. And now both Shay and Haytham have complicated feelings for their immortality but Haytham says that they must use everything in their power for the Templar cause, even if it’s this cursed abomination.

So they go to France to retrieve something from Charles Dorian.

Anyway, so, let’s end this longer than I expected it to be fic idea with both Unity and Syndicate + some extra!

The Non-Desmond-Ancestors Part 1:

So the immortality gang decides to go to Paris after Altaïr receives reports of someone matching Haytham and Shay’s description making problems for the Parisian Brotherhood. At this point, the Adrestria ship is known as the ‘legacy ship’ of the one who takes the title of Altaïr (although there are rumors abound that Altaïr is immortal). Kassandra likes to tease Altaïr about it and calls him ‘oh dear captain’ just to annoy him.

Anyway, they get to Paris and find out that the Templars and the Assassins in Paris (and really all of France at this point) are split into two faction each. Those who want to have a truce/alliance with one another led by the Templar de la Serre and the Master Assassin Mirabeau and those who don’t want anything to do with their enemies led by an unknown Templar (but is rumored to be Haytham) and the Master Assassin Bellec. Paris is currently having a three-way battle between Assassins and Templars who sorta have a rocky truce, Templars who want to keep fighting the Assassins and think that the other Templar faction are traitors and Assassins who refuses to ever be allied with the Templars and think the Assassins who do are deluded.

The Templars are in a worse state with there being a sorta brewing civil war between the two factions. The Assassins aren’t that far behind but Bellec’s call for blood is still being veto’ed by the other Master Assassins and it’s really just a matter of time before everything becomes ugly.

The Immortality gang gets suckered in because, well, the Assassins in their gang feel a responsibility for all these. There’s talk of which side they should take and there’s pretty much debate about it that boils down to ‘can we unite with the Templars?’. No became the final answer mainly because Desmond reminded everyone what the Templar’s mission is: to create a brand new world without free will (although he did falter a bit when Ratonhnhaké:ton suggested they try).

Anyway, the immortality gang tries to help out and unite the two Assassin factions. During this entire thing, Arno, who has been raised by the de la Serre for maybe two to three years before he was taken in by Bellec after Bellec heard of the boy who saw Charles Dorian’s killer and looked for him, is part of Bellec’s faction and is looking for his father’s killer. Élise is her usual self and she remembers the sweet boy Arno had been, wondering just what kind of life he had to desire vengeance so badly. Then her father is killed and she starts looking for the killer, matching Arno’s own flames of vengeance with her own. They still fall in love but it’s a more… destructive kind of thing built on a foundation of grief and rage.

Arno also serves as the immortality gang’s main contact and ‘support’ from Bellec’s faction and that’s how he grow close to them (mostly Ezio who tried to mentor him to use his thirst for vengeance in a less destructive way and Desmond who just treats Arno like a friend and Arno enjoys it). The four-man co-op missions of Unity now become Arno’s official Assassin missions and he gets helped from the immortality gang. Always three people but different people with Ezio, Desmond, Altaïr, and Ratonhnhaké:ton being the usual ones. Bayek also likes to help out a lot but he’s the main mediator for the two Assassin factions so that usually keeps him busy. Eivor helps out if it’s not heavily stealth-centric or if they all need a distraction. Alexios is there if they all need a ‘destruction’ (bad joke, please ignore). Kassandra usually joins when it sounds fun. Mary and Edward help out whenever they can but they’re mostly working with Bayek and Altaïr with Mary usually dragging Edward to look for Altaïr as he tends to leave to join the missions without telling Bayek. Also, Eivor is busy trying to look for any descendants of her old friends in Paris.

Anyway, no one asked Élise to live in this one so she dies in Arno’s arms once more after they learned that the leader of the Templars and the one who ordered de la Serre’s death is Germain who dies by Arno’s hands.

After Élise’s death, Arno leaves the Brotherhood just as it’s being united with the Templars under de la Serre joining the Assassins instead and the ones under Germain scatter in the winds. Bellec thinks it’s too risky to accept the Templars but he gets veto’ed by the new council helped set by Bayek. (Whether Bellec does his canon betrayal is up to you).

So Arno does the whole Dead King DLC but Ezio and Desmond comes with him while the others are stuck with helping the Parisian Brotherhood. Same deal happen but, this time, Arno dies saving Leon. He wakes up to Ezio and Desmond carrying his dead body out of the rubbles and he learns he’s immortal.

He asks why it’s just him. Why not Élise as well? And he carries this survivor guilt around him for centuries, how he wished that Élise had been the immortal one instead of him.

The immortality gang leaves Paris with Arno and they all continue to hear the rumors of Haytham Kenway being alive but saw no ‘evidence’ of him. They do believe that Arno really did see Shay Cormac and they think Shay survived the deadly fall Liam had sacrificed himself to take Shay down and that Shay is the one ‘trying to keep Haytham’s legacy alive’.

Unknown to them, Haytham and Shay had been helping the Templars in the shadows but there had been a slight disagreement on who to help. Shay had helped the de la Serre faction while Haytham helped the Germain faction. They reunited after the destruction of the Parisian Rite and took the remaining Templars out of Paris.

The Non-Desmond-Ancestors Part 2:

So, in this scenario, they get to London after they learned the… well… chaos that the Frye twins had done. This would mean that they would get to London maybe around Twopenny’s assassination and the riots that followed after.

Arno is still down so Ezio suggested that he takes Arno to help the local Assassins. Which, in turn, makes Ezio and Arno be what Evie calls ‘Jacob’s caretakers’ because Ezio saw the Rooks and was immediately “Oh, no, it’s worse than Hope’s gang”.

Evie and Jayadeep get support from Altaïr and Bayek while Eivor takes this time to check Ravensthorpe together with Kassandra and Alexios.

Desmond and Ratonhnhaké:ton go check out the Kenway mansion together with Edward and Mary because they heard Templars had ‘infested’ it and, fuck that. That was still Kenway property.

The British Brotherhood had been trying to gain tracks and the Kenway team actually learned that descendants of Edward and Mary (and Anne) had been trying to take back the Kenway mansion from the Templars. They do admit they didn’t coordinate with the Frye twins and only left a ‘this is our mission, stay back’ because the current mentor of the Brotherhood was hoping the one with the title of Altaïr will take care of them. They do get the Kenway mansion back but they can’t turn it into a headquarters because it’s too risky. They think the Kenway team (especially Edward and Mary) are also descendants of Edward and Mary. They also think Desmond is a Kenway descendant and Mary immediately goes “Yes! He’s my brother… half-brother! Right?” “I like to think of myself as adopted.” “Hahahaha, always the joker, my dear little brother is.”

Funny thing. Bayek gets mistaken as the one with the title of Altaïr a lot. Bayek just sighs while Altaïr usually goes “he’s the real Altaïr” whenever he doesn’t want to deal with what dumb thing the Assassins need him to deal with… or he wants to play hooky with Desmond and the others. XD

Anyway, Starrick is an anomaly because he’s a Templar who blatantly shows he’s a Templar even though the usual modus operandi of the Templars is to stay underground to not get the Brotherhood’s attention. This makes Jayadeep believe that Starrick is a decoy and the real Grand Master is someone else.

Jacob gets close to Ezio and Arno. Maybe even see Ezio as kinda like a father figure. Romantic inclination for Arno optional but, if he does, poor Jacob does not know what to do with his budding feelings for a man. Evie grows close to Bayek and Altaïr on the other hand and both men become a father-figure to her, especially Bayek. Their daddy issues still fucked them up though and they have this wall between them and the immortality gang.

Oh, Desmond the Corgi gets saved by Desmond this time who was just taking a walk and found the dog. The Blighters that tried to take Desmond down got their asses beat because the others got to Desmond’s location quickly because Desmond. Should. Never. Be. Left. Alone. For. Too. Long.

Eivor and the others return just in time for the big finale and with information about how the other branches have heard the same rumors: Haytham Kenway is still alive. They believe that “Haytham Kenway” is a title of the Templar Order the same way Altaïr is believed to be a title as well.

Anyway, Jacob still partners up with Roth behind the gang (if he has feelings for Arno, that might be the reason why he tried to splinter off) and he actually dies in the fire while saving the last children. Jacob revives after Arno and Ezio takes his corpse out of the burning building.

Evie dies during the final confrontation with Starrick because she was pricked with poison during their dance. She actually dies in Jacob’s arms and they’re all surprised that she got reborn. Jacob had hidden his immortality from her and that… sorta fractured their relationship a bit.

Evie joins the Adrestria but Jacob stays behind to keep an eye on the Rooks, promising to join them once he’s certain they’d be okay without him.

They return to London later on when they receive a message from a Kenway descendant (Anne’s descendant) about how Jacob Frye disappeared and how there are Assassins gone rogue who believe in the manifesto of fear of an Assassin only known by the name of Jack.

The Jack the Ripper DLC is where Evie and Jacob finally reunite and Jacob joins the gang officially.

Lydia is still born but she’s not immortal.

Congrats, guys, this is an idea where Evie has to watch Jayadeep die of old age and leave her behind. I hope you’re happy.

Random Modern Day Notes That I Have No Idea What To Title:

Even though they tried to stop it, Abstergo still got build and they don’t know it was actually Haytham who founded it this time

Altaïr gets the fun idea of building a rival company and uses Desmond’s memories of the future to get funding and ensure its success. It’s sorta his baby and the constant headache of Bayek who thinks it’s too risky. Kassandra loves it because they got a new more modern and high-tech ship thanks to its success.

Depending on how much they had screwed up the timeline, it’s highly possible that William Miles (and the Miles bloodline in general) wouldn’t be born in this one.

Juno gets destroyed and the whole Solar Flare thing is solved in the background because I think it would be funny if they get relegated into… well… a bit character and a d plot.

Still have no idea what the Singularity Point is and, at this point, Altaïr’s company is more or less preparing for all possible catastrophes instead. They’re still looking though because they’re stubborn.

I did wonder, would Ratohnhake:ton refer to Mary as 'grandmother' due to how close she is with Edward?

Desmond meeting Desmond the Corgi was an adorable addition. 

Haytham possibly/most likely running things behind the scenes with Starrick as a decoy... oh boy...

I wonder what kinda antics they would get into the modern day? 

Your thoughts on a Time Travel-ish fic where Desmond gets yeeted back to a little bit before Altaïr’s time and Bayek, Kassandra, Alexios, and f!Eivor become basically immortal bc of POE/Isu bullshit?

And then all the main characters after that become immortal bc of POE/Isu bullshit (including Desmond) so they’re just slowly gathering a bunch of immortal Assassin/some Templars and winging it til they hit the modern day era.

If you like to add a vampire spin to it, here’s the vampire idea a while back that does include a lot of main characters (but not all) getting turned into vampires.

Now, for this idea, let’s set up some things first.

Desmond is the primary immortal and nobody knows how it works.

They stop aging once they die and are revived for the first time.

There will always be a minute of death before their revival. (spawn rate)

Since we want to cover all main AC characters (although I love the fact that we didn’t include Basim in that list. Mirage isn’t out yet, Basim doesn’t count yet, I guess XD), I know you asked for Desmond being yeeted a little before Altaïr’s time so I’m hope you’re fine with Desmond being yeeted before or during Kassandra and Alexios’ time period. (I mean how 'little' is open for interpretations I say)

And how about we make this a little bit more interesting?

Desmond gets yeeted into the time of the Isus. To be more specific, he gets thrown into Minerva’s ‘temple’ during the final days before the Solar Flare.

He’s disoriented and maybe just ‘a bit’ traumatized because of the pain he felt when he activated the device so all he could do was try to understand what Minerva was saying.

About how she’s trying to save his life. That he must do what they all fail to do.

Find the true source of this anomaly, this singularity point that ensures a catastrophe hits Earth every few millennia regardless of what they do.

Because, and this is important, Desmond, even if you save the world from the Solar Flare, another catastrophe will happen. It is inevitable.

But you can find the reason why it has to be that way.

Desmond…

No matter what happens.

Never give up.

Keep looking.

And Desmond falls asleep when Minerva pushes him into some kind of device that looked like a water bed.

When he wakes up, he finds himself staring at a confused-looking woman clad in armor.

The Layla Trilogy:

Desmond has no clue what this singularity point is meant to be but he assumes that he’s meant to find it now that he’s woken up… 2 millennia before his time, Jesus Christ.

Kassandra was just looking around the supposed ruins of Athena’s first temple. She believes he’s a demigod or a human turned demigod by Athena. She also thought he might even be Erichthonius but that idea was scrapped when Desmond showed her just how little he knows of the Ancient Greek world. He joins her because it’s not like he has any other clue and Kassandra traveling made it clear that he could cover more grounds if he stayed with her.

It’s because of Desmond’s intervention that Alexios (as Deimos) isn’t killed and the siblings’ relationship is rocky but Alexios stays with them in the Adrestria even if it usually comes down to Kassandra and Desmond making sure Alexios’ temper doesn’t get them into trouble. (Whether the other family members survive is your call).

In the end, it’s the whole Atlantis DLC that makes Kassandra and Alexios accidentally (or is it an accident, Minerva?) immortal. Desmond’s inclusion into the ‘vision’ screwed up the Isu tech and whatever is keeping Desmond immortal is copied into Kassandra and Alexios. They don’t realize it until later on when Alexios dies during a very fierce battle. Then a minute passed while Kassandra cradles her baby brother in her arms as she cries, Alexios opens his eyes and gasps loudly. Kassandra and Desmond would realize they’re immortal as well later on. No matter what they ask, Aletheia in the staff (Desmond doesn’t trust her one bit) doesn’t say anything at all. Desmond believes that their immortality might have been caused by one of the many POEs he had with him at the moment (he’s been hoarding every POE they find).

In this setup, Alexios would be Aya’s ancestor and it’d be more of a one-night stand that happened because Alexios was feeling a bit off that day and wanted some company. Whether they learn Aya is Alexios’ descendant is up to you. They meet Bayek during the Curse of the Pharaoh DLC while they were checking out the ‘curse’ and this is another case of Desmond’s immortality getting passed into Bayek while the POE is shrouding all of Thebes. Maybe even during the time they were in the Duat and Desmond is seeing people who haven’t even been born yet and that’s how he believed his desire to destroy the lies being shown to him caused Bayek to be infected by his immortality. They don’t know Bayek is immortal though but Bayek knows they’re immortal (maybe make one of them die in front of Bayek? They’ve become quite prone to risky actions because they know they can’t die) so when he realized he was immortal, he starts looking for them.

Eivor met them on the Isle of the Skye and Desmond’s immortality infects her during that time as well (maybe during the final confrontation with the POE?) but, as usual, they don’t know that yet. What happens is that Eivor returns to Ravensthorpe and the story continued until the end of AC Valhalla, maybe a few days later, Reda (who may or may not be an avatar of Minerva or her sage or something, the point is his immortality is not connected to Desmond’s… maaayybbee) introduces her to an old friend of his who is looking for someone who looks a lot like Randvi, a man going by the name Amun. At that point, Eivor already knows she’s immortal, Basim slicing her throat during their final confrontation was a dead giveaway, and Reda introduced them as ‘two people of similar circumstances’. They both realized that they’re immortals and Bayek (who Eivor knows as Amun) believes that the answer to their questions is with Desmond and the Spartan siblings (they’re not, they don’t even know they’ve been leaving immortals behind) so Eivor leaves Ravensthorpe to find Desmond and the other with Bayek, promising to come back once she has all the answers.

They finally catch up to Desmond and the others around late 1100s and Desmond doesn’t know how but he’s sure he’s the reason why they’re all immortals now. Without any other information, all they can do is be cautious and, later on, they decide that Desmond shouldn’t get too close to other people until they’re sure on how this entire immortality thing gets activated. Of course, that only means Desmond would feel bored (and maybe have bad reminders of his life on the Farm) so he was just walking a busy marketplace to take some time off his own spiraling thoughts, just looking around and that’s when he bumps into Altaïr.

Desmond’s Ancestors (Part 1):

Desmond didn’t even know Altaïr would be around these parts. Why would he? All he knew during this time was that Altaïr went with Maria to go travel, he didn’t know just how far the two had traveled during that time. Desmond desperately tries to get away because, fuck, there’s no way that he was going to mess up Altaïr’s life even if he desperately wants to because he has no idea what will happen to him if he messes Altaïr’s life so badly that Desmond Miles wouldn’t be born centuries from now. This only makes Altaïr interested in him and it ends with Desmond joining Altaïr and Maria in their travels, sorta forgetting to tell anybody else that he might have been half-kidnapped/half-went along with it?

So the current immortality gang is out looking for him while he’s making a life in Masyaf, becoming like an uncle to Altaïr’s children. Desmond keeps trying to tell Altaïr that Abbas is too dangerous to keep alive but Altaïr won’t listen, thinking that Abbas would not stoop as low as Desmond says, especially when the Apple doesn’t show him anything bad happening with Abbas. By this point, Desmond had told Altaïr everything so Altaïr know Desmond knows of a future but he insists that that future is no longer their future because they have changed things.

Altaïr and Maria still go with Darim to assassinate Genghis Khan but Desmond stays behind to keep an eye on Abbas. Unfortunately, this gets him captured and it’s only because of Desmond’s warning that Malik survived, taking Sef’s wife and children out of Masyaf on Sef’s orders while Sef stays behind to save Desmond. It ends in tragedy as Sef dies in Desmond’s arms instead even though Desmond begs for whatever is keeping him immortal to save Sef, to make him immortal as well. Desmond is taken deeper into Masyaf and tested on to find the reason for his immortality instead.

Altaïr’s return is heralded by a civil war between those who sided with Abbas and the Assassins Malik rallied. In the battle, Maria dies in Altaïr’s arms as well and, if you really want to hammer in the pain, Malik falls as well. When they finally took Masyaf back, Altaïr finds Desmond in the deepest part of Masyaf alive but… well… it’s not a pretty sight. Just as he frees a catatonic Desmond, Abbas stabs him from behind and Desmond snaps out of it, screaming as Altaïr falls into his arms. Remembering how Sef dies in his arms the same way breaks Desmond. Altaïr dies in his arms and revives a minute later, much to Abbas’ surprise. In the end, Altaïr kills Abbas and takes Masyaf back.

After the funerals are done and Masyaf starts healing, Altaïr tells the new mentor (Malik if he’s still alive or Darim if Malik is already dead) that he and Desmond are leaving Masyaf. That this place is simply too painful for Desmond right now and the only way he can heal is to be away from this place. The mentor agrees because they both know how much Desmond blames himself for the death of the people he and Altaïr loved. That not even Altaïr telling him it’s not his fault could reach him.

So they leave and a few days later the immortality gang reaches Masyaf but everyone is tight-lipped about what happened and if they know anyone that looks like Desmond (there were rumors that the people of Masyaf were experimenting on how to achieve eternal life and such). So it took them a long time for the mentor to confide what had happened (that’s fine with them though because they trust Desmond can take care of himself (oh boy) and they’re immortals, they have all the time they need) and the mentor isn’t sure where Desmond and Altaïr could be.

They’re in Monteriggioni. Of course, they’re in Monteriggioni. Desmond talked and showed Monteriggioni to Altaïr and his sons so Altaïr knew how much Desmond loved the town. They stayed there because Altaïr was hoping Desmond could heal there and Altaïr accidentally sorta-maybe bought the place while it was just a little thing and started expanding and stuff. They’re always known as descendants of themselves and they’re rumored to be brothers or cousins or something, anyway, the point is the town’s connection with the Assassins is a very hush-hush affair and the Italian Brotherhood grows with Altaïr’s assistance while Desmond just… does whatever he wants.

Desmond meets Ezio as a child when the Auditore family visits the town to pay their respect and Altaïr sees how happy Desmond is to play with Ezio and his siblings. He suggests that they vacation in Florence once in a while to visit the Auditores and Desmond agrees.

The Auditore execution doesn’t happen because Altaïr’s presence makes the Italian Brotherhood be more incognito. Giovanni is still loyal to Lorenzo (an ongoing headache of Altaïr’s) and he’s the mentor of the Italian Brotherhood while Altaïr has more of an advisory role but his connection to the other Assassins was great enough that he was able to coordinate a rescue mission when Giovanni was arrested. Federico and Claudia (who learned enough to fight in secret thanks to her Tio Desmond) were in the house and they got the others out while Giovanni stayed behind so he was the only one arrested and the Auditore family is given asylum in Monteriggioni.

Of course, the whole rescue plan had been in the making for a while now as a ‘last resort’ since Desmond told Altaïr what would happen and this pushes Ezio, Federico, and Claudia to join the Brotherhood in hopes of avenging what has happened to them.

Same thing happened as canon. The actions of the Italian Brotherhood (really, Ezio and his siblings) catch the attention of the immortality gang who finally catches up but they accidentally thought Ezio was the immortal with Desmond named Altaïr and that’s how Ezio learns about the whole immortality thing.

Ezio finds out he’s immortal after Rodrigo stabs him and he dies but revives. He believes his other siblings aren’t immortal though because he saw Minerva’s message for Desmond and it’s already changed. She’s speaking to Ezio and she tells him to “keep Desmond in check”. To make sure he remembers his mission. Ezio believes it’s not Desmond who gives immortality to random people but Minerva. That this immortality thing is something Minerva prepared to keep Desmond ‘safe’ and ‘focused’.

Desmond would have easily said that Minerva is going by a list of people Desmond cared about but he didn’t even know about Kassandra, Alexios, Bayek and Eivor before his death so that idea gets thrown out before it even fully forms.

Anyway, it ends with the immortality gang going on a newly refitted and upgraded Adrestia to start looking for this singularity point with Altaïr giving Monteriggioni to Petruccio who had been taking care of the finances and the little details for a while now. They stop by Constantinople as well and Ezio falls in love with Sofia, maybe he stays with her for a while and have two children? Idk. Anyway, the Auditore line continues…

Into the Kenway line…

Desmond’s Ancestors (Part 2):

So the immortality gang are all in Adestria and they’re quite the mighty crew at this point. They’re sailing the world, trying to find possible locations of this singularity point all the while just enjoying each other’s company. Truly, this is one of the most peaceful time of their immortal lives, all things considered.

Of course they’re also trying to understand how Desmond’s immortality pass-the-batton work. Ezio still thinks it’s Minerva who controls who becomes immortal and who doesn’t but the others are still in the fence.

During this time, Altaïr does what he does best and set ups Brotherhoods all around with Bayek and Ezio getting roped into helping him (quite enthusiastically). That’s how they meet one of Ah Tabai’s most promising recruits, Mary Read. They stay in the West Indies for a bit to give Altaïr, Bayek and Ezio time to train the recruits and help the transition from Altaïr to Ah Tabai for the mentorship of the West Indies Brotherhood. During this time, Desmond gets to know Mary and there’s this… strange connection. Something he is sure isn’t his but there’s always this hint of grief whenever he’s with Mary and that only makes Desmond seek her out more.

There’s a bit of misunderstanding as Mary thought he likes her (as in like-like) but the entire Immortality gang just looks at each other and are like “Naaaahhh”. No offense to Mary but it’s not that. If anything, Desmond probably sees Mary like a daughter. This only confuses Mary even more because she can’t be that much older than Desmond.

Anyway, the Golden Age of Pirates start and the Adrestia isn’t necessarily a pirate ship but they roll with it because they’d rather be called pirates that fucking privateers anyway. They get access to Nassau and that’s when Desmond first sees Edward Kenway. He’s already wearing the Assassin robes of Duncan Walpole (who, in this case, was also trying to find the enigmatic Assassin who creates Brotherhoods and bureaus wherever he goes, only known by the title “Altaïr”). Of course, seeing Edward wearing Assassin robes without even understanding the Creed is a bit annoying (understatement) and Edward just thinks they’re a cult (“He’s not wrong.” “Alexios!” “What? It’s true!”)

Anyway, Eivor gets a kick out of the ‘raiding’ portion of naval combats and the Adestria is known as the ‘nice pirates’. They’d leave merchant ships alone and only attack those who attack them first. They try not to get too involved with the pirates though because they are trying to focus their attention on finding the singularity point until they learn that Edward is trying to find a way into the Observatory which has been guarded for so long because it is an Isu temple.

So, in this case, Edward and the immortality gang are kinda ‘kid don’t do this’/ ‘i’ll do what i want’ kind of scenario but Desmond definitely has a soft spot for him because he remembers him (vaguely) from Haytham’s memories. He knows there’s more to Edward than what he shows and Edward is both weirded out by Desmond and also starts to grow fond of him. He’s definitely Edward’s favorite of the cult pirates.

Desmond also joins the Jackdaw at times, mostly saying that he ran away because everyone was being ‘too careful’ with him. Edward assumes Desmond means that everyone is worrying over him because when Edward does see them together, it’s clear that they’re very protective of Desmond. It’s not like Edward would ever think that the main reason is because Desmond is the most important immortal of all.

Anyway, he still gets captured during the final years of the Golden Age and he learns that Mary and Anne are also captured. The immortality gang helps them escape and they saw Mary in dire conditions after giving birth to her daughter. Edward and Desmond help her to get out while the others run distractions and Ah Tabai takes Anne. Mary dies in their arms and she has her moment with Edward while she asks Desmond to find her daughter and take care of her. They can’t stay all that long but Desmond refuses to leave her body behind so they take it. During the ensuing escape, Mary is reborn (after one minute) and everyone is so surprised but they manage to escape. This meant that Ah Tabai, Anne and Edward learns about the whole immortality thing.

Edward becomes an Assassin and the rest of the Black Flag storyline goes as usual with him on the helm of the Adrestia with the rest of the immortality gang and Anne. Anne thinks she’s not immortal though but her baby is saved (maybe they have a more advanced medical practice this time around thanks to all the tinkering Altaïr did with the Apple and Desmond’s own ‘medical drama’ knowledge that wasn’t really all that helpful other than… give ideas to start from I guess?).

Anyway, they get Mary’s daughter and Mary, Anne and Edward decide to go back to London with Jenny and Mary promises Desmond that she’ll come find them later. For now, she just wants to ‘try out’ a different life.

Whether Edward and Mary (and Anne) are romantically linked or not is up to you in this one. The main point is that Haytham would have three siblings this time around.

Annnddd I’m gonna end this update here for now due to time constraints and also because I want to ask…

Your thoughts on a Time Travel-ish fic where Desmond gets yeeted back to a little bit before Altaïr’s time and Bayek, Kassandra, Alexios, and f!Eivor become basically immortal bc of POE/Isu bullshit?

And then all the main characters after that become immortal bc of POE/Isu bullshit (including Desmond) so they’re just slowly gathering a bunch of immortal Assassin/some Templars and winging it til they hit the modern day era.

If you like to add a vampire spin to it, here’s the vampire idea a while back that does include a lot of main characters (but not all) getting turned into vampires.

Now, for this idea, let’s set up some things first.

Desmond is the primary immortal and nobody knows how it works.

They stop aging once they die and are revived for the first time.

There will always be a minute of death before their revival. (spawn rate)

Since we want to cover all main AC characters (although I love the fact that we didn’t include Basim in that list. Mirage isn’t out yet, Basim doesn’t count yet, I guess XD), I know you asked for Desmond being yeeted a little before Altaïr’s time so I’m hope you’re fine with Desmond being yeeted before or during Kassandra and Alexios’ time period. (I mean how 'little' is open for interpretations I say)

And how about we make this a little bit more interesting?

Desmond gets yeeted into the time of the Isus. To be more specific, he gets thrown into Minerva’s ‘temple’ during the final days before the Solar Flare.

He’s disoriented and maybe just ‘a bit’ traumatized because of the pain he felt when he activated the device so all he could do was try to understand what Minerva was saying.

About how she’s trying to save his life. That he must do what they all fail to do.

Find the true source of this anomaly, this singularity point that ensures a catastrophe hits Earth every few millennia regardless of what they do.

Because, and this is important, Desmond, even if you save the world from the Solar Flare, another catastrophe will happen. It is inevitable.

But you can find the reason why it has to be that way.

Desmond…

No matter what happens.

Never give up.

Keep looking.

I will do all I can to give you as much help as possible.

And Desmond falls asleep when Minerva pushes him into some kind of device that looked like a water bed.

When he wakes up, he finds himself staring at a confused-looking woman clad in armor.

The Layla Trilogy:

Desmond has no clue what this singularity point is meant to be but he assumes that he’s meant to find it now that he’s woken up… 2 millennia before his time, Jesus Christ.

Kassandra was just looking around the supposed ruins of Athena’s first temple. She believes he’s a demigod or a human turned demigod by Athena. She also thought he might even be Erichthonius but that idea was scrapped when Desmond showed her just how little he knows of the Ancient Greek world. He joins her because it’s not like he has any other clue and Kassandra traveling made it clear that he could cover more grounds if he stayed with her.

It’s because of Desmond’s intervention that Alexios (as Deimos) isn’t killed and the siblings’ relationship is rocky but Alexios stays with them in the Adrestria even if it usually comes down to Kassandra and Desmond making sure Alexios’ temper doesn’t get them into trouble. (Whether the other family members survive is your call).

In the end, it’s the whole Atlantis DLC that makes Kassandra and Alexios accidentally (or is it an accident, Minerva?) immortal. Desmond’s inclusion into the ‘vision’ screwed up the Isu tech and whatever is keeping Desmond immortal is copied into Kassandra and Alexios. They don’t realize it until later on when Alexios dies during a very fierce battle. Then a minute passed while Kassandra cradles her baby brother in her arms as she cries, Alexios opens his eyes and gasps loudly. Kassandra and Desmond would realize they’re immortal as well later on. No matter what they ask, Aletheia in the staff (Desmond doesn’t trust her one bit) doesn’t say anything at all. Desmond believes that their immortality might have been caused by one of the many POEs he had with him at the moment (he’s been hoarding every POE they find).

In this setup, Alexios would be Aya’s ancestor and it’d be more of a one-night stand that happened because Alexios was feeling a bit off that day and wanted some company. Whether they learn Aya is Alexios’ descendant is up to you. They meet Bayek during the Curse of the Pharaoh DLC while they were checking out the ‘curse’ and this is another case of Desmond’s immortality getting passed into Bayek while the POE is shrouding all of Thebes. Maybe even during the time they were in the Duat and Desmond is seeing people who haven’t even been born yet and that’s how he believed his desire to destroy the lies being shown to him caused Bayek to be infected by his immortality. They don’t know Bayek is immortal though but Bayek knows they’re immortal (maybe make one of them die in front of Bayek? They’ve become quite prone to risky actions because they know they can’t die) so when he realized he was immortal, he starts looking for them.

Eivor met them on the Isle of the Skye and Desmond’s immortality infects her during that time as well (maybe during the final confrontation with the POE?) but, as usual, they don’t know that yet. What happens is that Eivor returns to Ravensthorpe and the story continued until the end of AC Valhalla, maybe a few days later, Reda (who may or may not be an avatar of Minerva or her sage or something, the point is his immortality is not connected to Desmond’s… maaayybbee) introduces her to an old friend of his who is looking for someone who looks a lot like Randvi, a man going by the name Amun. At that point, Eivor already knows she’s immortal, Basim slicing her throat during their final confrontation was a dead giveaway, and Reda introduced them as ‘two people of similar circumstances’. They both realized that they’re immortals and Bayek (who Eivor knows as Amun) believes that the answer to their questions is with Desmond and the Spartan siblings (they’re not, they don’t even know they’ve been leaving immortals behind) so Eivor leaves Ravensthorpe to find Desmond and the other with Bayek, promising to come back once she has all the answers.

They finally catch up to Desmond and the others around late 1100s and Desmond doesn’t know how but he’s sure he’s the reason why they’re all immortals now. Without any other information, all they can do is be cautious and, later on, they decide that Desmond shouldn’t get too close to other people until they’re sure on how this entire immortality thing gets activated. Of course, that only means Desmond would feel bored (and maybe have bad reminders of his life on the Farm) so he was just walking a busy marketplace to take some time off his own spiraling thoughts, just looking around and that’s when he bumps into Altaïr.

Desmond’s Ancestors (Part 1):

Desmond didn’t even know Altaïr would be around these parts. Why would he? All he knew during this time was that Altaïr went with Maria to go travel, he didn’t know just how far the two had traveled during that time. Desmond desperately tries to get away because, fuck, there’s no way that he was going to mess up Altaïr’s life even if he desperately wants to because he has no idea what will happen to him if he messes Altaïr’s life so badly that Desmond Miles wouldn’t be born centuries from now. This only makes Altaïr interested in him and it ends with Desmond joining Altaïr and Maria in their travels, sorta forgetting to tell anybody else that he might have been half-kidnapped/half-went along with it?

So the current immortality gang is out looking for him while he’s making a life in Masyaf, becoming like an uncle to Altaïr’s children. Desmond keeps trying to tell Altaïr that Abbas is too dangerous to keep alive but Altaïr won’t listen, thinking that Abbas would not stoop as low as Desmond says, especially when the Apple doesn’t show him anything bad happening with Abbas. By this point, Desmond had told Altaïr everything so Altaïr know Desmond knows of a future but he insists that that future is no longer their future because they have changed things.

Altaïr and Maria still go with Darim to assassinate Genghis Khan but Desmond stays behind to keep an eye on Abbas. Unfortunately, this gets him captured and it’s only because of Desmond’s warning that Malik survived, taking Sef’s wife and children out of Masyaf on Sef’s orders while Sef stays behind to save Desmond. It ends in tragedy as Sef dies in Desmond’s arms instead even though Desmond begs for whatever is keeping him immortal to save Sef, to make him immortal as well. Desmond is taken deeper into Masyaf and tested on to find the reason for his immortality instead.

Altaïr’s return is heralded by a civil war between those who sided with Abbas and the Assassins Malik rallied. In the battle, Maria dies in Altaïr’s arms as well and, if you really want to hammer in the pain, Malik falls as well. When they finally took Masyaf back, Altaïr finds Desmond in the deepest part of Masyaf alive but… well… it’s not a pretty sight. Just as he frees a catatonic Desmond, Abbas stabs him from behind and Desmond snaps out of it, screaming as Altaïr falls into his arms. Remembering how Sef dies in his arms the same way breaks Desmond. Altaïr dies in his arms and revives a minute later, much to Abbas’ surprise. In the end, Altaïr kills Abbas and takes Masyaf back.

After the funerals are done and Masyaf starts healing, Altaïr tells the new mentor (Malik if he’s still alive or Darim if Malik is already dead) that he and Desmond are leaving Masyaf. That this place is simply too painful for Desmond right now and the only way he can heal is to be away from this place. The mentor agrees because they both know how much Desmond blames himself for the death of the people he and Altaïr loved. That not even Altaïr telling him it’s not his fault could reach him.

So they leave and a few days later the immortality gang reaches Masyaf but everyone is tight-lipped about what happened and if they know anyone that looks like Desmond (there were rumors that the people of Masyaf were experimenting on how to achieve eternal life and such). So it took them a long time for the mentor to confide what had happened (that’s fine with them though because they trust Desmond can take care of himself (oh boy) and they’re immortals, they have all the time they need) and the mentor isn’t sure where Desmond and Altaïr could be.

They’re in Monteriggioni. Of course, they’re in Monteriggioni. Desmond talked and showed Monteriggioni to Altaïr and his sons so Altaïr knew how much Desmond loved the town. They stayed there because Altaïr was hoping Desmond could heal there and Altaïr accidentally sorta-maybe bought the place while it was just a little thing and started expanding and stuff. They’re always known as descendants of themselves and they’re rumored to be brothers or cousins or something, anyway, the point is the town’s connection with the Assassins is a very hush-hush affair and the Italian Brotherhood grows with Altaïr’s assistance while Desmond just… does whatever he wants.

Desmond meets Ezio as a child when the Auditore family visits the town to pay their respect and Altaïr sees how happy Desmond is to play with Ezio and his siblings. He suggests that they vacation in Florence once in a while to visit the Auditores and Desmond agrees.

The Auditore execution doesn’t happen because Altaïr’s presence makes the Italian Brotherhood be more incognito. Giovanni is still loyal to Lorenzo (an ongoing headache of Altaïr’s) and he’s the mentor of the Italian Brotherhood while Altaïr has more of an advisory role but his connection to the other Assassins was great enough that he was able to coordinate a rescue mission when Giovanni was arrested. Federico and Claudia (who learned enough to fight in secret thanks to her Tio Desmond) were in the house and they got the others out while Giovanni stayed behind so he was the only one arrested and the Auditore family is given asylum in Monteriggioni.

Of course, the whole rescue plan had been in the making for a while now as a ‘last resort’ since Desmond told Altaïr what would happen and this pushes Ezio, Federico, and Claudia to join the Brotherhood in hopes of avenging what has happened to them.

Same thing happened as canon. The actions of the Italian Brotherhood (really, Ezio and his siblings) catch the attention of the immortality gang who finally catches up but they accidentally thought Ezio was the immortal with Desmond named Altaïr and that’s how Ezio learns about the whole immortality thing.

Ezio finds out he’s immortal after Rodrigo stabs him and he dies but revives. He believes his other siblings aren’t immortal though because he saw Minerva’s message for Desmond and it’s already changed. She’s speaking to Ezio and she tells him to “keep Desmond in check”. To make sure he remembers his mission. Ezio believes it’s not Desmond who gives immortality to random people but Minerva. That this immortality thing is something Minerva prepared to keep Desmond ‘safe’ and ‘focused’.

Desmond would have easily said that Minerva is going by a list of people Desmond cared about but he didn’t even know about Kassandra, Alexios, Bayek and Eivor before his death so that idea gets thrown out before it even fully forms.

Anyway, it ends with the immortality gang going on a newly refitted and upgraded Adrestia to start looking for this singularity point with Altaïr giving Monteriggioni to Petruccio who had been taking care of the finances and the little details for a while now. They stop by Constantinople as well and Ezio falls in love with Sofia, maybe he stays with her for a while and have two children? Idk. Anyway, the Auditore line continues…

Okay, so…

I’m going to be completely honest with you, I wanna make Desmond part of the New Seven Hearts because we are missing 3 more new Princesses anyway.

BUT you do want each Assassins to have a Keyblade so we’ll create a Kingdom Hearts-inspired AU instead where the Keyblades are, technically, human-created weaponry using Isu tech created specifically for the Human-Isu War.

Specifically, they’re the humans’ answer to the POEs. And the Keyblades are incomplete as they need ‘keychains’ to boost their capabilities. Without it, they look more or less simple key-shaped weaponry.

It was created this way so that they could manufacture a lot of Keyblades (hinting in a Keyblade graveyard) while the Keychains are the ones that needed more time to be created.

And it is those Keychains that the Assassins and Templars find.

The Keyblades themselves are mostly seen as probably strange decorations, not realizing that their ‘Isu tech’ can only be activated by the Keychains.

Of course, there’s the secret ‘prototype’. Said to have been used to test each and every Keychain and have stored all of their power and capabilities…

and I've played with that idea in various ways for ages

and this immediately has me thinking like

The Isu were a long lived people. But for all that their years dwarfed humans, they weren't shy about offloading any work they felt below them, a waste of their time. Even things it shouldn't have been possible to offload.

For all their technology, the earth wasn't peace and harmony under the Isu. There was posturing, politicking, and even skirmishes between armies.

Most often, though, violence was of a more personal nature. Dueling to settle personal disputes, and sabotage or assassination to push through obstinacy that couldn't be moved any other way.

An Isu would not stoop so low as to *train* at physical combat, not even for something as important as their personal safety. Instead, it had become common practice for Isu who might need to engage in fighting or otherwise defend themselves from attack to carry a "key"--a device uniquely attuned to them which could synchronize with their nervous system to give them muscle memory and instincts they had not earned.

No, instead that grueling labor was left to the humans. Humans who trained all their short lives, and had an imprint taken, their reflexes, knowledge, skills distilled down to a chain of memories that could be plugged into any given Isu Key.

Of course, fighting techniques are not stagnant. There was always room for improvement, always a need for new warriors, links in an unending chain.

Until Eve stole the Apple. Until the humans rebelled, and the cadre of highly skilled humans trained specifically to fight Isu were given more practical experience than their masters had ever intended.

Still. The use of Isu Keys, and their associated Chains, continued. Even after the flare, enough memory of them remained to drift into legend, to be preserved in oral history, to be written down as myth millenia later.

Meanings drifted. Detail was lost. And when Abstergo used the memory disks unearthed near Masyaf to develop the Animus, they did so with the intention, not of finding ancient artefacts, but of creating the all-powerful weapon once used by their predecessors: The Keyblade.

The device needed lives, needed memories. The memory disks themselves weren't enough, it was clear that the Keyblade needed a lifetime, perhaps *lifetimes* of skill behind it. (They were all too willing to buy into the idea that power demanded sacrifice, especially when the sacrifice was someone else.)

And so Desmond lived through the memories of Altaïr and Ezio. Haytham was their first experiment with trying to get him to live the life of a Templar, but he synced with Ratonhnhaké:ton instead, and they decided to let that play out. No need to push him toward subpar syncs yet; theyd already seen what a debilitating effect it had on Subject 16. The chain they'd gotten off him was unstable, let alone the chains they'd tried to make of his individual lifetimes lived.

So Desmond proceeded, under Lucy's as-yet undetected double-agent care. She pulled imprints from him under the guise of diagnostics, creating chains she then had to hide, being too valuable to trust to a dead drop, to complex to simply transfer the data of. Who knows what Abstergo would have done with their ~ultimate weapon~, with the power to unlock hearts, whatever that meant. (Mind control, probably.)

The world would never find out. For, in searching put the temple Ratonhnhaké:ton's mother and tribe had guarded, Desmond's small assassin cell would discover a doorway to another world--and awaken a dark power, defeated long ago, but not destroyed.

Minerva had spoken to Ezio of a bright light that overwhelmed the world, and the darkness that followed. They thought she was being metaphorical.

Turns out, she wasn't.

Juno rises from her slumber and plunges their world into Darkness. There is no Choice posed to Desmond, no sacrifice asked of him. There is only a Temple shaking around them and the echo of Minerva's voice: The brighter the light, the bigger the shadow.

He looks for the other Assassins, he does. But inky black shadow is billowing everywhere, obscuring even his Sight, and what he finds instead is three--keychains? They're elaborate bits of wiring and silica and gold, clearly modeled off Isu tech. He doesn't know what they are, but they feel important, so he swipes all three. (He doesn't notice his arm glowing in response to their presence. He doesn't know about the elaborate Key prototype Abstergo has been building to house the chains. Later, he'll remember a tingling sensation, like a jolt of electricity, when he picked them up, the shadow of movement from the corner of his eyes. Right now, he's a little busy.)

He remembers a door, incongruous in the temple with its elaborate stone archways and echoing spaces. Just a simple wooden door, the only possible route of escape with the place caving in around him. He remembers racing toward it, his arm reaching out ahead, stretxhing, as though that extra bit of distance would be the difference in getting out.

He remembers waking up in an alley in a strange place, three figures standing over him, discussing him in hushed tones of concern.

Three very *familiar* figures.

...

...

... Wanna make it more complicated? XD

Unfortunately, due to the threat of the overwhelming darkness surrounding him, Desmond had unintentionally broke the chains he had taken.

So while they look very familiar, they were not exactly the same as the ones in his memories.

To be more exact…

They seemed more like ghosts and, when they all agreed they should look around to find out where they were at the moment, it seemed no one could actually see them but Desmond.

No one could hear them as well.

And Desmond couldn’t even touch them.

Still, there were more pressing issues than the possibility that they were not exactly real and are actually the figment of Desmond’s fraying mind.

The monsters born from the Darkness started to attack the town they find themselves in and, in the end, Desmond teams up with two other people with a mission of their own to defeat the source of the Darkness in this town.

At the end of a tiring battle, a small chainlink appeared and simply disappeared into Desmond’s right hand.

After Desmond touched it…

He could feel the warmth of the three ghostly apparitions with him.

So now he has a new mission.

Find the other chainlinks and hope that they would shed light to how or why his three ancestors were bonded to him.

(The Forms in KH will now be more of Desmond’s ancestors ‘linking’/’synching’ with him and granting him a form that is similar to their specific skillset)

For Desmond’s two companions (aka: his Donald and Goofy):

If you wish it to be contained to Desmond Saga, Rebecca and Shaun would work

If you wish it to be contained to AC lore in general, Layla and Callum would probably work

If you want an Ubisoft crossover KH-inspired setup, I wanna say the Prince from Prince of Persia and Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell would be awesome or maybe Aiden from Watch_Dog instead of the Prince and set up the 1st ‘world’ in a modern day setting.

Considering Ubisoft’s current situation, I wouldn’t be surprised if they get bought out by the mouse. XD
