Whatâs some goals yall have for creative improvement?
Iâm trying to draw more, since I write a lot but my creative visions always collate in my head as webcomics or light novels. My goal is to have 10 drawings with color done this month.
I'd like to finish a story.
Jeez, I'm saying that if you want to create more compelling stories you need to focus less on your characters. Consider your characters a Tetris block that clarifies the entire structure instead of you wasting your time crafting a perfect Tetris block only for it to not fit the structure entirely because the game was entirely different from the get go. I don't know. Don't bitch at me.

some tips on drawing figure skating positions for non-figure skaters, from an ex-figure skater with 10 years of experience
these are all the most basic versions of these positions of course. thereâs a lot of different types of spirals and sit spins. some other notes i didnât add:
on ALL spirals, the standing leg is always straight. if itâs bent, theyâre doing something else/fucking up a spiral.
air positions get tighter the more revolutions the jump is. some single jumps (like waltz jumps) donât even really have an air position. if they do, the bottom leg is straight, but instead of crossing over the left leg, itâs just bent in front of you. the arms might be in, they might be out, idk no one cares that much about singles lmao
if theyâre in a performance, theyâre looking up at the audience. remember, figure skating is performed in stadiums; rather than simply looking out, a figure skater has to look up to appear to be addressing their audience. theyâre probably just doing it for show and focusing on their program, but the motion is still there.
if youâre in practice, however, youâre probably looking up at the skaters around you to make sure you donât fucking crash into everyone on the ice surface. self-explanatory.
your face will literally never look good mid-jump or spin.
not technically figure skating, but pairs have more jumps and higher lifts than ice dance. thereâs a specific rule regarding this, but since i never did either, i donât know it.
this definitely wasnât a vague at the yuri on ice fandom. okay, it was, but iâm mostly excited that so many people are paying attention to figure skating now, so y'all are chill.
just remember: head up, arched back, extended leg is probably straight. draw with motion. if you donât know what a positionâs supposed to look like, donât just look at references; you can even google the test requirements for a specific jump/spin/move if you want to. (ISI is a good place to start, since theyâre international and everyone uses pretty much the same criteria for individual moves anyways.)

Reblog and share in the tags where you saw the longest queue/line of people that youâve ever seen
the thing about ai witch hunt is that instead of spreading awareness about why and how ai can be harmful, people focus their energy on harassing other people instead. so instead of actually achieving something, fandom space and the internet as a whole just became twice as toxic because people have found a â¨noble way⨠to tell other people to off themselves and get praises for it. youâre not helping. youâre part of the problem
hey so. donât do this.
âcoming from a place of respectâ there is nothing respectful about a comment like this. this is exactly why I say witch hunt, speculations and accusations harm the writing community as much as ai does, if not more.
I am not saying âyouâre an asshole if you think a fic is aiâ. I have come across fics that I believe were ai-generated. but instead of asking (accusing) the authors, I make my own decisions whether Iâll continue reading for the benefit of the doubt or quietly exit the fics and look for something else to read.
because with every accusation like this, thereâs always a chance of a genuine, innocent writer getting wrongly accused.
last but not least, fanfic writers do NOT owe you anything. they write for themselves and their own enjoyment. their ao3 accounts are their houses and they were kind enough to let you in their houses. for free. (you get to read things for free.) you donât go into other peopleâs houses and tell them âactually I think the way you decorate your room is sus. did you actually do it yourself or did you ask a robot to do it for you?â. THEY đđť DONâT đđť OWE đđť YOU đđť ANYTHING. and I say this as someone who is not a fan of ai fics. if you donât like what youâre seeing, quietly leave.
*the following is not about the fic in this specific post. in general, I still strongly believe people who let ai write for them should tag their works as ai accordingly. but if we want more people to be honest about it, weâll have to stop shaming and harassing people who actually tag their ai-generated fics accordingly. harassment is never justified. not to mention, it will only make âai writersâ refrain from tagging their ai-generated works as such. and then thereâs no way for anyone to know for absolute certainty if itâs ai. therefore the raise of witch hunt.

Reblog and write in the tags which decade you'd like to experience (via time-travel) that you either have never lived in or were too young to remember.
reblog and put an artist/band/song you think is necessary to listen to in order to like a genre, not because you're a fake liker if you don't know about them but because it's a classic
