I’m tired of seeing dumb shit so covid discourse is now closed in my inbox. Here’s the summary of my views, you can take it as you want:

He’s a white priveliged rich celebrity who’s acting irresponsibly

some people are completely blowing this out of proportion

If you want him to get sick/damage lungs/or think death jokes are fair game, unstan immediately and take a long look in the mirror.

The blind apologist attitude is also fuckin gross, and here’s the main gist of those points with my rebuttals:

“How come no one was mad when harry was maskless in Italy/in other circumstances but now they choose to go off?”

1st: personally i was annoyed then, as I am now

2nd: the pandemic situation is a lot worse now in America then it was over the summer in Italy. Right now in our country, someone dies of covid every 33 seconds. 

It’s irresponsible both times, but moreso now because the pandemic is a lot more severe now than it was. and California is at the peak of it.

“He’s sticking to hanging out with the same people, so I don’t see the problem” 

“It’s because he was seen with a woman people are jealous lol”

Harry’s choices are his own, and we should not be discussing this topic in relation to romantic ties.

while I’m at it the ‘This is a PR stunt’ is the dumbest take I’ve heard since L*rry. Literally why would you do a PR stunt in the middle of a pandemic when doing so makes you look this unfavorable. use logic.

I will give you, a half-assed precaution is better than no precaution. It’s still not ideal or good though. Taking ‘some precaution’ isn’t enough to get covid under control right now. 

Masks are not the end-all solution. The most import thing to do right now is stay at home

Yes, other celebs have acted worse. I don’t think this is an excuse for behavior. Doing the responsible thing shouldn’t be a comparison. That’s like saying “I only cheated on a few of the test questions while the girl next to me cheated on all of them”

I agree, some people are. There’s a large difference between criticism and hate. Criticism is absolutely valid. Hate is unnacceptable.The blind-stanning and groups of unfounded hate are equally gross and unhelpful
