One thing I wondered about Jax's torture sequence is, why was Pomni the only one of the current circus members in it?
We know its not because shes the only one he cares about among the group, since he considers Gangle a friend (even if he doesn't treat her like it) and even tries to say something to Gangle in the cafe (most likely an apology). And of course we can't forget *gestures to whatever is going on with him and Ragatha*.
Well, we also know that Pomni's not alone in this sequence, that Ribbit and Kaufmo have joined in. So what does she have in common with them?
Well, Jax let them all be "equals" with him in his messed up trope filled world. They were all funny ones. Jokesters.
And the reason why he lets them be "equals" is because they are "masculine" characters (Kaufmo being an actual man and Ribbit and Pomni leaning that way). Gangle and Ragatha are both very "feminine" characters, so letting them be equals is unthinkable, because girls are weak.
And don't @ me about "Oh he's not misogynistic, they're just easy to pick on!" His favorite website is literally confirmed to be 4chan, and Gooseworx said he specifically picks on the girls for a reason.
Besides, its specifically when Pomni hugs him (physical affection is considered feminine which is considered weak) that he cuts her off.
But, then, wouldn't his nightmare be Gangle and Ragatha being in the position of power for once? I don't think so. Remember, that has happened before (*violent flashbacks to maid dress and the gun backfiring*) and he is back to his normal self in seconds, because one blow doesn't mean anything. Those silly girls just got the jump on him, thats all.
But if those he let be "equals" started tearing him apart, he has nowhere to run.
