An electronic invite design I designed today for my placement. This had to be a very professional and sleek design as it is aimed at corporate bespoke events. I used Illustrator from this as well as some skills learnt when I went to a creative agency for a day to create our corporate brochure.

Placement Portfolio #1 - This is my first piece of finished work I have from my placement so far. This is for their cafe/bar and I decided that with the themes of vehicles and F1 around where I work, I wanted these pieces to be inspired with vintage american garages. I always liked these vintage cafe themes from america and really feel they suit where I am currently working.

A Summers evening...

A few weeks ago, my family decided it was too nice to sit in and just stare at screens all evening so we made a quick decision to get out of the house and visit somewhere we hadn't for many years. This led us to Lancing, somewhere I have some very old distant memories of but still looked as lovely as I remember. This also allowed us to take our pup (not so much a pup anymore really though) Monty for his first ever time at the beach and I decided to whip out the camera and get some shots of his first encounter with some waves (It was safe to say he was a bit hesitant of the sea!)

The result of today - Never done a proper typography piece like this before (therefore please ignore all the bad proportions etc.) but really enjoyed it! Tomorrow = scanning and inking in the sun and then maybe digitalising it! Oh and taking a decent photo not at 11:30pm with a poorly lit room and an iPod camera...

3D Typography!

This idea was from Karen Kavett, a graphic designer who’s work I am absolutely in love with right now! I printed off her template of Helvetica lower case a (Who doesn’t love Helvetica?!) and decided to give this a shot! I didn’t have all the tools she used so my attempt is a bit more ‘rough’ and less clean than Karens! But with just some card and some glue, I’m pretty happy with this for a first attempt! Next on my list is to attempt her 10 graphic design tasks for summer and her hot air balloon!
