My weekly photography challenge was to take a photograph during "blue hour"- the hour or so right before sunrise or right after sunset. And that kind of annoyed me because it's Sunday night and I am tired and anxious about work tomorrow and I very much did not want to go outside and walk around to take photos after sunset.
Except then I did. I took a photo that I really liked.
And I also saw fireflies. And bunnies. And a family with little kids playing on a school playground. And heard a lady talking to her friend about how she had just had it with her no account boyfriend. And remembered that I live in walking distance to a mural I really love but I rarely go there because it's not a direction In normally walk in.
And, really, that's one of the things I love about photography. It motivates me to go outside and pay attention to the world.
