...rough work in progress detail from a larger illustration inspired by @senlinyu 's Alchemised. still got a way to go before it's finished.

The Artemis II crew captured this view of an Earthset on April 6, 2026, as they flew around the Moon. The image is reminiscent of the iconic Earthrise image taken by astronaut Bill Anders 58 years earlier as the Apollo 8 crew flew around the Moon. The Apollo 8 mission was the first crewed spacecraft to circumnavigate the Moon.

“Dont die, Kaine”

It's such an immense pleasure to paint this as part of my Unbound for Gaza commission. I started with an idea of a menacing Kaine but he always turns into something more tragic. But then I thought, well if he has to be tragic at least make it couture.

As we erode with the passage of war under the ever present shadow of the reaper, what is there that’s left of us in the end?

My sister got me into Alchemised and I just found out about this sick dog… I love her.

Kaine Ferron, I promise to try not to be wholly obsessed with you but I am already completely enthralled. Can you hear all of our hearts pounding in unison as we enter September?
