what she means: the umbrella academy should’ve explored five and vanya’s relationship more, we were given these two personalities that are complete opposites of each other but still was able to become the closest among the siblings. They hold each other so deeply that five told vanya about the future right away the moment he got back, vanya didn’t give up on five coming back to them and kept making him his favorite sandwich, and five called vanya’s name before anyone else’s during his panic from the apocalypse. It bothers me so much that their relationship wasn’t explored more during the first season when their dynamic during the start of the show was so interesting. Hopefully, the second season will be able to give us a deeper look into their relationship, especially since five was the only one who proposed the idea to bring vanya along and was able to convince everyone to help fix her.
