Barantos but it’s Trinity getting Baran and her son Kaveh speaking again after three long months.
Kaveh fell out with his mother over his decision to not go to college. A massive fight ensued when Baran brought up college and Kaveh stormed out of the house to go to Trinity’s.
Kaveh wasn’t responding to Baran’s calls and messages as he made his way to Trinity’s apartment.
Trinity took Kaveh in. He told Trinity about not going to college and how Baran was against his decision. Trinity could hear Kaveh crying in his sleep every night in the guest room.
Meanwhile, Baran knew Kaveh was close to Trinity and had considered her as a second mother. Despite not talking to him, Baran knew he was safe with the younger woman.
Between trauma cases and the odd slow moment, Baran would quietly ask Trinity about Kaveh. Trinity could see how sad Baran had been since Kaveh stopped talking to her.
After three months, Trinity was fed up about how the mother and son were so miserable without seeing each other. Everyone in the Pitt knew Kaveh wasn’t talking to his mother for three months. Some of those who were parents themselves could see how much Baran was missing Kaveh.
Over pizza, Trinity told Kaveh that she was bringing his mother over and that he was going to have to talk it out with her. Kaveh was hesitant about it but agreed.
Baran was nervous but she was desperate to see Kaveh again. Her house felt empty without him. She didn’t want to keep fighting with him. She missed his hugs and his sandalwood smell that came from the cologne he liked to wear.
After their shift, Baran was in Trinity’s car in the passenger seat. She was quiet during the fifteen minute drive to Trinity’s apartment whilst Trinity drove.
Kaveh was standing in the kitchen when Trinity and Baran came in. The mother and son looked at each other for the first time in three months with Baran’s eyes welling up.
Trinity got them to sit down at the table. She got Baran and Kaveh to say their side out about the college debacle. Kaveh was frustrated with his mother’s side whilst knowing his mother only wanted the best for him.
Kaveh admitted that his mother’s expectations was suffocating him and was making him not want to speak to her. The admission from Kaveh rendered Baran silent with tears in her eyes.
Kaveh continued to tell her that he was happy with working as a landscaper and he was proud of himself. Baran realised that her son was happy with what he was doing before apologising to him.
Kaveh got up from the table and went over to Baran. He opened his arms to his mother who was crying again. Baran went into her son’s arms and sobbed into his chest.
Trinity got up and went to squeeze both mother and son’s shoulders before heading to the living area to give them space.
