smiles for miles...

amazing how time flies.  the last entry was october 2014?!  how did 1.5 years go by without remembering to get on tumblr and say something...anything?!  oh well.  in other news, today is National Toast Day and i really am so excited about this.... actually not really, but i do love toast!  it actually always was a staple snack growing up.  funny the things we remember from childhood.  random memories, really.  

life has been good these past 1.5 years.  plenty of ups and downs, but you know, life.

i will start off by saying sorry for not writing in i don't know how long!!  i've been a bit busy...ha!  as i write this, i have my 6 month old son using my leg to help him stand up.  i can't believe how much he is growing -- and so fast!  too fast, actually.  already 2 teeth, crawling up a storm and standing up.  what?!  

this mom thing is a wild ride.  it is a full on 100% committed exercise in putting others (specifically, your tiny human) before yourself.  it all starts when you realize you have someone growing inside of your body.  it's seriously bonkers!  the female body is quite remarkable - to know exactly what to do to create and sustain life.   while i exercised a few days a week with a trainer and i watched what i ate, i let go of all expectations of what my body would look like.  it was crazy to gradually gain weight and completely change shape.  i think the only way i was happy with it was knowing it was for such a good cause. my baby!  

i will say though that once i gave birth, i had to get to know who i was again.  and i am still getting to know myself.  my son has only been on the earth for 6 months...he was in my womb longer!  actually much longer since he was 2 weeks past his "due date"... but that's another story.  i literally had to evict him with a c-section.  haha!
