ALL EYES ON ME!

the light behind her casts a halo around her head, making her look divine when he wakes. while she hasn’t ventured close enough to any of the bliss barrels or stepped any of the tainted lakes, alice is still fascinated by the stuff. not fascinated to get reckless and try it, but interested in seeing the effect, like any true scientist. 

‘ oh! ‘ she startles upon leaving her recording room and seeing him. hands rising in surrender, making herself look as little of a threat as possible, alice eyes him cautiously. he’s certainly not one of her new brothers, quite obviously not a member of the family. 

it’s another coughing fit. too long since she’s eaten, her body protesting the lack of substance in its own unique way. producing a handkerchief from a hidden pocket and pressing it to her mouth, alice can taste ink in her mouth. still coughing, she only lifts the white cloth to speak to the nearest person. 

in hope county to record and sing the majority of the music for eden gate, alice angel simply decided to stay when everything began to become dangerous. understanding that faith likely wouldn’t like having another angel to compete with, and knowing jacob would demand absolute submission and control over her, alice remained in john’s territory, working with him instead. filling the halls with her voice, alice charms everyone she meets. 

her brutality is what keeps her in john’s favor apart from her singing. 

usually only armed with a pair of metal claws or knives that she uses to rip open skin and pull their organs out, alice quickly became an anomaly for how methods. she is the perfect candidate to set up the decorations that go on the side of the road and in random settlements. many of the displays disturb even some of the members of eden’s gate when they see them, but her smile reassures them that she’d never harm them, her brothers and sisters. 

she’s coming to the end of her song. oh john, of course. it was a rare occurrence that many of the worker - bees got to loiter and listen to the resident singer, but she’d arrived minutes before they were to go on patrol, set herself up on top of a crate and sang with her eyes closed, swaying softly. 

as she song’s coming to an end, alice takes a moment to look around the room, meeting eyes with each and every one of them to make them feel special. it’s not everyday one of them gets noticed by an angel. her progression ends, however, when her eyes land on john himself. sliding off her crate, she smiles wide as her mouth forms the last notes.
