“Sirius? What’s that?”
The wariness in Remus’ voice was vaguely turning on the alarm bells in Sirius’ mind, but the bed was so warm, so cosy, and waking up meant a god-awful headache and the sour aftertaste of too much firewhiskey (and possibly vomit) in his mouth, so he’d rather not.
He groaned something nonsensical and buried himself tighter against Remus’ chest, determined not to open his eyes for the foreseeable future.
Remus’ fingers however, had started roaming and were inching up his thigh. This piqued his interest and he leant into the touch, until it suddenly stopped, right below his arse and he whined lowly, urging Remus on.
“You got another tattoo?”
“What?” He now reluctantly opened his eyes, trying to make sense of Remus’ words, trying to make sense of last night. “I did?”
Remus gestured and Sirius picked up his head from his pillow-that-was-Remus, turning until he could see a bandage on his arse cheek.
“Huh.” He blinked slowly. “Guess I did.”
Remus was already getting up to remove the bandage while Sirius’ mind was still playing catch-up. He had obscure flashes of loud music, muggle London and Prongs laughing going through his mind, but it was all a hazy blur. He was roughly pulled out of his pondering when Remus let out a laugh that was way too loud on this bloody morning.
“What is it?” he asked, trying to glance over his shoulder to see the now-revealed tattoo. “I swear, if it’s Prongs’ stupid face…”
“No, thank god,” Remus laughed again. “Can you imagine having to look at that every time we fuck? No, it’s… peachy.”
“That’s it. It says peachy.”
It took another long moment before Remus’ words sank in. When they did, his poorly-operating brain seemed unable to decide between a groan and a giggle, and he tried to hide the outlandish noise that came out of his mouth in a blanket.
Remus laughed softly and he then felt Remus’ fingers resume their path from earlier, breath ghosting over his skin. Remus pressed his lips against the spot below the tattoo and Sirius sighed contently, his hangover almost forgotten.
“It suits you,” Remus hummed, his teeth biting down on the skin playfully. “Very peachy, indeed.”
