i heard a theory a while back, im not sure where unfortunately but it is very interesting to me and id like to show my support for it
its pretty simple, each line of "dont forget" is about a specific chapter in deltarune
when the light is running low - ch1, the first dark world
and the shadows start to grow - ch2, the story truly begins with more details being revealed
and the places that you know seem like fantasy - ch3, literally, kris's house is a dark world
theres a light inside your soul - ch4, literally, the light inside our soul is shown
thats still shining in the cold - ch5?
with the truth, the promise in our hearts - ch6?
dont forget, im with you in the dark - ch7?
i feel like this implies that dess could be the singer of dont forget and we meet her in chapter 7
i think the only one that is kinda troublesome so far is the one for ch5 bc we havent seen any theming around winter, cold, or snow in ch5. but theres two things that really seem like it could be possible: 1, toby outwardly said that he only showed the least spoilery parts of the chapter and 2, chapter 5 would be SNOWDIN in the reverse undertale areas theory...

and on top of that, consider this:
you know how the two biggest candidates left for having dark worlds are noelles house and the shelter?
and you know how at the end of ch4, carol reminds kris about their promise? "with the truth, the promise in our hearts".
and how its pretty commonly understood that dess is the knight at this point... you know whos in the shelter? "dont forget, im with you in the dark".
