₊˚。ఌ 𝐀-𝐘𝐄𝐎𝐍𝐆  𝐇𝐀𝐃  𝐀  𝐁𝐈𝐓  𝐎𝐅  𝐀  𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆  𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐓  𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐒  ;  that  thing  about  them  being  that  they  terrified  them  just  to  think  about  it.   They  knew  there  would  be  the  likelyhood  that  they  would  have  to  sign    something    upon  agreeing  to  work  for  Lucifer  Entertainment  ,  and  they  had  spent  days  working  themselves  up  to  lookin  at  that  stack  of  paper.   They'd  almost  considering  just  backing  out  of  it  all  together  ,  but  ultimately  decided  to  go  through  with  it.   Bu-Young  trusted  Ma-Wang  ,  and  more  than  he  trusted    most    demons.   That  was  enough  for  A-Yeong  to  believe  that  it  couldn't  be  too  bad.

He'd  never  steered  them  wrong  before.

They  flinched  slightly  when  that  strong  voice  filled  the  space  of  the  room  they  sat  in  ,  but  not  more  than  enough  to  cause  the  mythical  fox  to    flinch    slightly  in  their  seat  without  moving  it  any.   Big  amber  eyes  looked  up  at  the  demon  King  ,  before  gaze  moved  to  look  down  at  the  pen  they  were  being  handed.   They  weren't  bad  terms  ,  and  it  all  would  only  go  to  help  them  in  their  journey  to  become  human.   There  was  work  involved  ,  but  none  of  the  conditions  were  anything  like  what  they  had  been  through  up  until  this  point.   So  they  lifted  the  pen  ,  and  signed  on  the  line  by  Mr.  Woo's  finger.

Signatures  were  so  silly  for  humans  ,  but  something  that  A-Yeong  had  found  fascinating  still.   So  many  different  types  they  had  seen  just  in  a  short  time.   It  didn't  take  long  ,  just  enough  for  them  to  remember  the  flow  of  how  the  strokes  should  feel.   When  had  been  the  last  time  they  had  signed  their  name  like  this?   With  the  finally  stroke  of  their  name  ,  A-Yeong  handed  the  pen  back  to  Ma-Want  ,  hands  going  into  their  lap  and  grabbing  onto  one  another  to  keep  them  from  wandering  from  the  nerves.

With the contract signed, Ma Wang slid the box which contained the Energy Beads further towards A-Yeong. In the same motion, he took careful old of the contract before placing it within a folder that seemed to contain other contracts of a similar sort. Presumably the rest of the band that he was putting together which would form OMEN.

Just as he was going to slip the folder into one of his many filing cabinets within his office, he gave brief pause at the question he'd been asked by the kumiho. "That, dear A-Yeong, is a very astute observation." He finished placing the folder into the drawer and closed it before going back to sit across the kumiho at his desk.

"And...you're absolutely correct. In my youth, I had made a nasty habit of letting my anger get the better of me. Most MONKS that encountered me up until Bu-Young...well, they often became better acquainted with their gods, much sooner than they might have hoped." He leaned back in his chair somewhat and sighed wistfully.

"For hundreds of years, I was filled with rage because of...an injustice which befell someone I love. Bu-Young happened upon me when I was perhaps at my most angry. He was a recently enlightened Monk, but there was something else about him that made him seem different. Rather than attacking me, he did something that no other had done before him; he asked me WHY I was on my warpath."

There was a far-off stare he wore towards the ceiling for a long moment as he continued the recollection. "After learning just how I came to lose what I held dearest to me, he implored me to look over the ancient texts with him, to search for a means of righting the wrong that had been suffered for centuries, and well...after some time, I found exactly what I needed to do. So, here I am," he held his hands out somewhat as he looked back to A-Yeong, "still doing the very same, working towards my goal...working towards becoming a god."

₊˚。ఌ   𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐘  𝐇𝐀𝐃  𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐍  𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐍𝐄𝐃  𝐓𝐇𝐄  𝐉𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐍𝐄𝐘  𝐓𝐎  𝐁𝐄𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐄  𝐇𝐔𝐌𝐀𝐍  𝐖𝐀𝐒𝐍'𝐓  𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐘  ;  but  A-Yeong  was  always  a well  motivated  individual.   Even  when  just  a  fox  ,  there  had  been  the  determination  to  live  ,  to    thrive    on  the  island  they  had  called  home  until  they  were  finally  able  to  leave  with  Bu-Young  and  start  a  new  life.   The  connections  were  definitely  something  that  gave  them  a  leg  up  , but  they  knew  walking  into  this  that  it  might  not  pan  out  the  way  they  expected.   It  never  did  when  you  were  working with  demons  though.   That  much  A-Yeong  knew  well  from  their  1002  years  of  living  ,  even  just  as  a  fox.

                 They  certainly  didn’t  reach  this  stage  of  their  life  by  learning  nothing.

                 Getting  through  the  door  had  just  been  the first  part  of  the  process  to  becoming  an  idol.   The  only  thing  that  had  been    guaranteed    was  that  Bu-Young’s  friend  would  have  somewhere  that  A-Yeong  could  work  within  Lucifer  Entertainment  that  would  help  them  both  reach  their  goal  , while  also  staying  out  of  any  trouble  a  Kumiho  like  them  could  get  into.   The  rest  ,  they  would  have  to  manage by  impressing  the  CEO  of  LE  all  based  on  their  charm  ,  skill  ,  and  work  ethic.   They  had  Bu-Young’s  help  in  the  process  ,  he  had  managed  to  have  quite  a  bit  of  advice  on  what  might  convince  the  Demon  Bull  King  to  take  a  chance  on  them.   That final  news  that  they  would  be  joining  the  new  boy  group  Ma-Wang  was  working  on  ,  was  the  first  bout  of    success    that  they  had  received  since  leaving  that  cursed  island.

                 A-Yeong  kept  their  eyes carefully  trained  on  the  man  sitting  in  the  desk  across  from  them.   Eyes  wide  and  nodding  along  with  everything  he  said.   Not  many  understood  the  desire  A-Yeong  felt  to  become  human  ,  but  in  their  eyes  they  never  really  felt  like  they    needed    people  to  understand  , they  just  needed  the  chance  to  see  if  it  was  possible  for  them.   Bu-Young  had  been  one  of the  first  to  believe  that  A-Yeong  would  reach  their  goal  someday  …  And  now  here  was  one  more  person  willing  to  sign  themselves  onto  their  team.

                 It  came  time  for  them  to  answer  ,  and  there  was  a  slight  pause  until  they    fully    realized  that  it  was  actually  time  for  them  to  speak.   Knowing  when  to  speak  and  when  to  listen  was  something  they  struggled  with  sometimes.   But  they were  learning.   An  eager  nod  was  soon  to  follow  his  question  of  if  they  would  give  it  their  all.   In  their  life  ,  there  was  no  such  thing  as  not  giving  it  your  all.   Before  here  ,  everything  had  to  be  absolutely    perfect    or  the  consequences  could  be  dire.   There  was  very  little  chance  that  the  expectations  here  would  be  anything  like  back  on  the  island  ,  and  more  over  ,  A-Yeong  couldn’t  see  Bu-Young  wanting  to  put  them right  back  in  the  same  type  of  situation  they  had  just  gotten  away  from.

                 ❝  I’ll  give  it  my  all  and  more  somehow  ,  ❞   In  there  voice  ,  there  was  that sure  sign  of  dedication  sitting  in  their  heart.   Being  what  they  were  ,  many  would  give  anything  just  to  have that  kind  of  power.   All  A-Yeong  wanted  was  to  be  able  to    love    someone  ,  without  the  fear  that  they  were  only  giving  them  love  to  feed  on  them.   Could  they  even  trust  themselves  to  know  the  difference?   Being  a  human  might  have  been far  from  easy  ,  a  lot  of  it  being  something  many  demons  and  spirits  a  like  would  detest  being  for  just  a  day  ,  but  A-Yeong  found  so  much    beauty    in  the  way  they  laughed  ,  loved  ,  worked  day  in  and  day  out  and  still  found  it  in  them  to  love…Without  some  power  that  made  them  undeniable  ,  all  powerful  ,  just  loving  for  what  they  have.   ❝  I’ve  known  for  a  long  time  this  was  going  to  take  everything.   So  I  want  to  give  that  and  more.   I  want  to  help  ad  make  people  happy  ,  not  what  most  like  me  do.  ❞

Trying to pursue a career in the entertainment industry itself was taxing beyond what most people had the fortitude for. When one added on the fact that there were actually a fair number of talents signed to Lucifer Entertainment that had done so for the simple purpose of a more ethical and practical way of consuming energy that didn't involve literally eating HUMAN SOULS...well, it became infinitely more paramount for the artists to succeed. As it turned out, concert venues were hotbeds for intense spiritual energy, thanks to all of the EQUALLY INTENSE FANS that attended said concerts.

It kept Lucifer Entertainment relevant in the public eye while keeping literally spirits and demons at bay. A-Yeong was a very welcome addition to the newest entourage that he was putting together.

"Ahhhh, excellent!" He stood up from his chair then, handing A-Yeong a pen from the ornate cup upon his desk, clicking it into functionality for the kumiho as he offered it. Once the fox had the pen, Ma Wang reached down to the contract and tapped the space that he needed them to sign.

"Just sign right there...and you will officially have the backing of one of the top agencies in Korea!" He wore his triumphant smile as he turned to his wall safe and removed what appeared to be a box made from red wood. It was about half the size of a shoe box, but within it were two energy beads, which he revealed as he lifted up the lid.

"Bu-Young, that clever old monk, hasn't steered me wrong. I have a very good feeling about this."

Given  just  how  many  different  iterations  that  there  have  been  of  the  Demon  Bull  King  (tae's  dad)  there  is  ,  I  had  to  pick  and  pull  from  sources  that  worked  for  the  narrative  on  this  one.   That  being  said  ,  Tae's  dad  is  no  joke  when  it  comes  to  the  demon  and  supernatural  community  ,  but  I  wanted  to  do  a  little  breakdown  of  how  I  write  his  family  sitting  the  overall  hierarchy  of  the  characters  that  tend  to  surround  Tae.   By  default  ,  he  doesn't  spend  too  much  time  around  people  per  say  ,  and  tends  to  stick  to  the  supernatural  community  for  ease  of  socializing  ,  but  obviously  he  ends  up  with  the  occasional  human  here  and  there.

Seeing  as  some  sources  say  he  could  be  based  off  a  bull  guardian  of  the  underworld  ,  and  considering  he  held  the  title  of  King  of  Fire  Mountain  ,  in  this  telling  he  exists  as  one  of  the  number  of  “demon  kings”  of  the  underworld.   He  also  gains  a  status  level  higher  than  other  demons  due  to  his  close  dealings  with  the  Patriarch  of  the  heavens.   He's  an  incredibly  powerful  demon  ,  so  it's  unlikely  that  many  demons  wouldn't  have  heard  of  him  ,  and  being  one  of  the  guardians  to  the  underworld  has  allowed  him  to  conduct  much  of  his  business  from  the  mortal  realm.   (though  there  have  been  times  when  he's  needed  to  return  to  the  demon  realm  for  a  time.)   Being  a  guardian  to  the  underworld  ,  he  acts  as  a  sort  of  check  in  point  for  reapers  most  of  the  time.   (kept  out  of  the  loop  of  course  about  what  the  saja  boys  were  up  to.)   Which  is  also  how  he  initially  became  connected  with  Gwi-Ma.   While  he  doesn't  preside  over  the  other  Kings  of  the  underworld  ,  he  moves  among  them  with  a  healthy  respect  from  them  …  most  of  the  time.
