world hard and cold, so here’s some gentle homelander relationship thoughts
gifts, gifts, gifts. if he sees something that reminds him of you, it’s showing up on your desk. on your night stand. your job. you’re constantly finding or being handed things. you must always be grateful, or his feelings WILL be hurt. deeply. is he trying to buy affection? maybe. mostly, he just wants to show that he thinks about you. he hopes you do the same.
he is extremely tactile. if you’re within arms reach, he has at least a hand on you. the back of your neck, your knee, your shoulders when he stands behind you. more than that, though, he wants you to be touching him. he will lay his head in your lap and put your hand in his hair. he will scoop you up for hugs (you weigh nothing to him) to feel your arms around his neck. also, his hugs ruin all others for you. they’re firm, effortless, and warm. you can feel the strength of a titan in his arms, but he’s gentle with you. there’s nowhere you could be safer.
competitive as hell, but doesn’t like to compete by himself. he wants to be on a team with you. even if the game doesn’t have teams, he will turn it into a team based competition in order to win with you. he’s not a loser, and damnit, neither are you.
he is possessive of your time. you can have friends, but he has to be the one getting the majority of your attention. preferably, you enjoy your friends while he’s there. does he want to be their friend or interact with them in any way? absolutely not. does he want to be present and a little sulky that he has to share you? absolutely.
