his confidence took her off guard , eyes widened a little before her shocked expression was replaced by a smile. she had not many people around town, and welcomed someone making the first move. she wanted to explore, and this gave her a good excuse to do just that. " how about we do one each , but the question is, who's santa, who's rudolph?" she posed, a smirk on her lips as she toyed with the fabric in her hand.

he  waits  expectantly  for  the  other  woman’s  answer  .  emmett  had  always  been  one  of  the  more  charismatic  of  the  cullen  family  .  sure  there  was  alice  who  is  very  much  open  to  meeting  new  people  ,  but  he  knows  his  adoptive  sister  had  her  quirks  .  “  sounds  good  to  me  !  not  gonna  lie  ...  i’m  feeling  more  santa  today  than  rudolph  ,  ”  he  lets  out  a  hearty  chuckle  .  “  and  i  think  the  reindeer  antlers  suit  you  better  than  me  .  ”  reaches  over  to  put  on  the  santa  hat  .  “  shall  we  grab  some  wine  ?  or  were  there  other  stalls  you  wanted  to  check  out  first  ?  ”

“  i  gotta  disagree  ,  i  feel  like  i’m  definitely  giving  santa  vibes  right  now  .  ”  or  maybe  it’s  because  he’s  a  giant  standing  at  6′5″  with  a  very  broad  build  and  wearing  a  red  sweater  .  “  but  if  you  wanna  wear  the  hat  then  go  for  it  .  i  don’t  mind  rockin’  the  antlers  for  the  day  .  ”

" in this town ? thinking is the only thing that doesn't get you killed. if you want to be absentminded then go ahead, but it'll be the last thing you do." he hated the lack of care, most people were oblivious, or did not care for their own safety. the supernatural kind often left humans vulnerable, however, by adding two and two together, he assumed he was of supernatural kind himself. "i didn't take you for a meditation kinda guy?"

emmett  has  to  stifle  an  eye  roll  at  the  other’s  words  .  listen  ,  he’d  normally  think  nothing  of  it  !  between  him  and  rosalie  ,  he’s  the  calm  one  .  “  alright  dude  ,  cool  it  with  the  world  is  doomed  spiel  .  i  get  it  .  i  may  be  an  idiot  but  i’m  not  stupid  .  ”  and  despite  emmett’s  rather  outgoing  and  laid-back  personality  ,  he’ll  heed  the  warning  .  he’s  been  around  long  enough  to  not  ignore  one  when  given  .  “  didn’t  think  i’d  like  it  either  but  it’s  more  helpful  than  you’d  think  .  clears  the  mind  even  if  it’s  only  temporary  .  ”

        a soft smile grows on ruby lips,  and he's always found a way to keep herself tenderhearted when he was around.  it was simply the emmett effect.   "we'll have to take it up with all the parents in the world, then. start a petition, let them know our opinions."   and rosalie thinks,  personally,  she can be very convincing !  whether or not she restorts to threats  ...  that is a different manner entirely on it's own.  "maybe you can change it up. play WHAM! ? last christmas is in season. i'm sure he'd love it."   he wouldn't,  and personally,  rosalie would look forward to seeing those reactions.  maybe she'll even ask jane to take a few videos.  to save.  for safe keeping !  arms will move up to his shoulder,  rest where they belong,  and she grins up at him.   "we'll buy the tickets then. and ... maybe lets not tell the family until we're on the plane. wouldn't want them to think it's a family trip."

emmett’s  not  completely  unaware  of  his  effect  on  rosalie  .  he  knows  his  wife  can  be  a  bit  ...  selective  with  her  mood  .  and  if  he  can  do  anything  to  keep  her  calm  and  put  a  smile  on  her  face  ,  then  he’ll  do  it  .  “  like  i’m  sorry  !  of  all  the  other  names  you  could’ve  chosen  ,  you  settle  on  jane  ?  ”  he’ll  dramatically  sigh  and  shake  his  head  in  dismay  .  “  last  christmas  should  be  fun  .  it’s  not  like  i’ll  have  to  try  super  hard  .  it’s  playing  everywhere  .  ”  eyes  twinkle  with  mischief  at  her  suggestion  .  and  he  knows  edward  would  hate  every  minute  of  it  .  what’s  a  century  of  living  with  family  if  you  can’t  annoy  them  ?  “  i  absolutely  agree  .  whatever  you  want  ,  babe  .  i  love  the  family  but  we  can  do  with  some  alone  time  .  why  does  carlisle  insist  that  we  all  live  together  ?  is  spending  nearly  everyday  together  not  enough  ?  ”

easy to see that the other is hurt, though they seem more inclined to suffer in silence. probably alice should drop it, but hasn't yet worked out a cure for chronic curiosity nor compassion's disease. " are you okay ? " settles tentative hand on their shoulder, pressure nearly non-existent. " let me help. "

his  frown  deepens  at  alice’s  question  before  looking  up  to  meet  his  adoptive  sister’s  gaze  .  “  no  ,  alice  .  i  am  not  okay  ,  ”  he’ll  sigh  heavily  .  “  my  fantasy  football  team  isn’t  doing  so  well  today  .  ”  shakes  his  head  in  dismay  .  he’s  very  serious  about  this  !  “  i  don’t  know  if  there’s  any  way  you  can  influence  the  outcomes  of  a  football  game  for  each  player  i  have  on  my  roster  .  but  i  could  really  use  your  support  at  this  moment  .  ”  /  @perce1ve

Bonnie, caught off guard by the sudden encounter with the towering figure of Emmett, managed to steady herself with a surprised but grateful smile. The friendliness radiating from the massive man was contagious, and she couldn't help but chuckle at the situation. "Whoa, hey! All good, no harm done," Bonnie replied with a light laugh, appreciating Emmett's easygoing nature. His friendly grin was disarming, and Bonnie found herself at ease despite the unexpected collision. "I'm okay, thanks. Just a little surprised," she added, her gaze meeting Emmett's with a genuine warmth. "You're a fast mover, huh?" She glanced around, taking in the surroundings, and then back at Emmett. "I'm Bonnie, by the way. Nice to meet you. And no worries, no harm, no foul." The encounter, though unexpected, seemed to carry a lighthearted energy, and Bonnie found herself curious about the friendly giant who had nearly bowled her over.

they've both only lived over a century, and she's more than confident they have met other janes - but rosalie hale has always been the softest version of herself around her husband. "hmmm, no janes that are important, agreed." she feels if the vultori herself could see it, rosalie would even get bonus points. "you can always just think it around our most emo brother. i'm sure he'd love to hear all of your thoughts," she teases, tilting his chin down so he focuses on her. "isn't one of bella going to italy anniversary coming up? we could always honor her." she'll never stop being mean, though, it seems. / @h1mbos.

he  makes  his  way  over  to  stand  behind  rosalie  ,  arms  wrapping  around  her  smaller  frame  .  “  it’s  just  hard  to  keep  track  of  names  .  jane  is  too  common  of  a  name  .  ”  but  a  vampire  twin  that  has  it  out  for  his  family  ?  that’s  not  a  detail  you  can  miss  .  emmett  lets  out  a  bark  of  laughter  .  “  oh  i’m  sure  he’s  had  ENOUGH  of  me  getting  all  star  by  smash  mouth  stuck  in  his  head  .  i  guess  i  could  annoy  him  with  my  fantasy  football  team  too  .  ”  he’ll  shake  his  head  fondly  .  “  if  that’s  a  valid  enough  reason  for  you  babe  ,  it’s  a  valid  enough  reason  for  me  too  .  we  can  even  send  bella  a  selfie  .  ”  /  @reputalie

he exhaled , eyes rolling in retreat to the males comment. he did not know how many turned a blind eyes. he was often consumed , fearful of what was to come. instead, many others seemed oblivious to what chaos would strike the town. “  i wish my head was in the clouds too. ”   he sighed, shaking his head dismissively.

“  thinking  is  overrated  sometimes  .  life  just  happens  and  it’s  not  like  we  can  control  how  things  happen  .  ”  when  he’s  lived  for  about  a  century  ?  it’s  easy  to  not  worry  about  the  little  things  .  sure  a  vampire  can  be  killed  by  a  hunter  at  anytime  but  the  chances  of  that  happening  are  far  slimmer  than  the  volturi  coming  after  their  family  .  that  and  emmett  has  an  inkling  that  he’s  growing  on  jane  .  “  probably  not  super  helpful  but  meditation  always  helps  .  really  just  clears  the  mind  .  ”  /  @hunterled

jack  of  all  trades  master  of  none  really  rings  true  to  emmett  .  even  after  about  a  century  of  living  ,  he  has  one  singular  college  degree  .  however  ,  he  did  have  a  phase  with  astronomy  .  and  surprisingly  enough  ,  some  of  that  knowledge  was  retained  as  he  watches  the  lights  streak  the  night  sky  .  “  oh  it’s  sick  ,  ”  the  vampire  nods  in  agreement  .  “  i  heard  these  meteor  showers  could  sometimes  last  a  century  ,  ”  he  muses  .  “  but  don’t  like  quote  me  on  it  .  i  could  definitely  be  misremembering  what  i  heard  in  class  .  ”  /  @wishfullynaive

"jane wants me to kill her brother," rosalie comments, putting down her phone before wrapping her arm around his neck, head laying on his shoulder. "volturi, jane -" she clarifies, finger tapping on his chin. "i told her we were free for the summer. might as well get out of california during the sunny season, anyway." she's joking, but he could talk her out of it. / @h1mbos.

“  i  didn’t  realize  we  knew  any  other  janes  ,  babe  ,  ”  emmett  jests  ,  an  easy  grin  settles  on  his  visage  .  and  when  it  comes  to  rosalie  ?  his  wife  ?  his  upbeat  energy  never  dims  .  “  maybe  let’s  not  kill  alec  .  who  else  will  listen  to  me  talk  about  american  football  ?  ”  walks  over  to  wrap  his  arms  around  her  .  “  but  we’re  due  for  a  trip  to  italy  .  ”  /  @reputalie

while  carlisle  is  here  to  explore  the  supernatural  population  of  beacon  hills  ,  emmett  didn’t  really  have  any  goals  to  achieve  .  and  so  long  as  rosalie  has  no  qualms  about  being  here  ,  he’s  happy  here  .  and  despite  the  town’s  population  mostly  consisting  of  non-humans  ,  he’ll  still  pose  as  a  human  out  of  habit  .  which  also  meant  embarking  on  what  he  would  consider  to  be  the  world’s  SLOWEST  run  .  he  easily  keeps  pace  ,  noting  any  notable  sites  that  he  might  want  to  explore  with  his  wife  .  and  in  his  haste  ,  the  6′5″  giant  nearly  barrels  into  another  .  “  woah  ––  hey  !  ”  hands  reach  out  to  steady  the  other  .  “  all  good  .  no  harm  ,  no  foul  ,  right  ?  ”  he  shoots  the  other  a  friendly  grin  .  “  you  okay  ?  ”  /  @thatbennettwitch
