I love my family a lot, but two weeks is a looooong time for a visit. I really need to recharge alone. I love my little trips with friends to get away, but that is not enough. My little prince (Mulder) love it though. I think he would love to live with flatmates again.
I think about buying the other apartment (it’s huge) all the time. If I do, I think I can make an artist life plausible from around the age of 40. Which seems incredibly lame and late, but honestly, that is how it is for now.
I’ve already thought about who I could invite to live with me if I do. I hope I can make it work.
I’ll paint the kitchen green all over again though. It’s a gorgeous green.
It’s something about a home that lasts forever that is just so appealing to me. Picking furniture that lasts a lifetime. Hanging art on the walls. Giving to the community of an apartment building. Growing a butterfly bush in the garden. Planting my grandmothers rhododendron under my window.
I think my ex hated this place. Strange, because I love it so much I never wanna leave. I hope I meet someone that loves it almost as much as me. Someone that adores my little trinkets like I adore the way my grandfather arranges his knives on the living room wall.
I wonder if I love it so much because I moved so many times as a child or because the visual chase for something other is like a hunt to me.
