Hunger Drones: Season One - Start!
After breakfast and a few moments of rest from Fractal's introduction to everyone, a buzzer sounded throughout the facility as the many Contestants were summarily ushered into what looked like repurposed shipping crates, just big enough for one drone to fit. Once the door closed behind you, a screen on the inside blazed to life as Fractal could be seen smiling as brightly as ever.
"Allllright everyone, I know breakfast was a little rushed and hectic, so I'll go over the rules again while explaining it to the Beneficiaries!~"
Your container lurches forward with the sound of scraping metal and grinding gears, Fractal pulling out a clipboard from within her jacket with a lower arm while an upper one holds her oddly designed mask to the side.
"Rule One - The Rule of One! The game ends when there is only one or none of you left alive, with that Contestant being the official Season One winner of Hunger Drones. How you get to that point is up to you- Forge alliances, go solo, whatever it takes!~"
Fractal begins to walk with the camera as she heads to a platform of some kind, standing on it while continuing to speak.
"Rule Two - No Leaving! Any attempts to flee past the borders of the arena will result in premature death via the core devices and/or arena systems put in place. Remember, the enforced borders are there for more than just for you!~"
Your container stops suddenly, almost throwing you right against the screen before starting to raise up along with the hostess's platform.
"Rule Three - Patience! When your container is open, do not step onto the arena floor until I give the go ahead. Failure to follow this rule will likely involve your untimely destruction via arena defenses!~"
Although her platform continued to rise, yours had just stopped as the grinding noises ceased as a buzzer rang out and the walls of your container fell apart. It seemed to look like you were moved to a large and wrecked lobby of some kind, the welcome sign for 'Cabin Fever Labs' hanging on a hook from the tiled ceiling as a large crate sat in the middle of the floor. You could see the others as well, all arriving in their own transports in a circle a few meters away from the supplies.
"Rule Four - Limited Outside Intervention! While your Beneficiaries are able to help at various times, they are only permitted to send what is requested of them. Any violation of this will result in the removal of all Beneficiaries associated with the Contestant~."
Fractal's platform finally stops with a hiss as she takes a seat in an ergonomic office chair, the wheels rolling her off camera for a moment before a hand grabs it to record herself at a control console of some kind, many different switches and buttons with differing labels, her mask set gently on the top of it while the clipboard was tossed to the side.
"I hope everyone's excited, because I know I am! I'll finish setting up the arena proper and I'll let you know when we can start with a classic countdown sequence. In the meantime, get a hold of your surroundings! It might be helpful~"
The screens then switch off, leaving you to yourself for the time being.
