I just know satoru takes naps all the time when you start dating. having someone he loves instantly makes him feel safer and more comfortable.
he likes tossing his shirt off and curling up on the couch. you normally have some sort of throw blanket over the back of it, so he just snatches it off and wraps himself up.
when you get home, he likes to pretend heâs still asleep, hoping youâll give him another pillow or blanket. his favorite part is when you eventually start gently nudging him awake.
he loooves hearing your soft voice. youâll act all soft and sweet and, gosh, it just reminds him of how much he loves you.
heâll stretch his long limbs across the couch, blearily opening his eyes at you, pupils all dilated and lovesick. of course, you love seeing his sleepy expression. satoru looked so peaceful and innocent when he slept. who wouldnât love him?
âhi babyâŚâ
he murmurs, a small, lopsided smile finding his face, his eyes crinkling in the corners as he looks up at you.
âhey satoru.. how long you been napping?â
you start, gently picking up his head and sitting down on the couch, letting his head gently fall into your lap.
he happily claims his spot, seeming even more comfy now that youâre here and touching him (his two favorite things).
âmm.. an hour? maybe.â
he practically purrs when your hand starts carding through his hair, the other resting on his torso.
âyou still tired?â
he shrugs, nuzzling into your thigh, his eye lashes fluttering in pure content.
âyou can sleep a bit longer if you want. Iâll stay here with you.â
satoru feels his heart flutter, butterflies in his stomach at your words. he knew it wasnât anything sexual, but he just adored you so much.
hearing you say youâll stay with him, even though he already assumed you would, warned his heart. he loves you so much, truly.
it wasnât even that big a deal. you were only offering him some more sleep, which he got plenty of at night with you.
buuuuttt if you insist. heâll take your offer. why wouldnât he want to lay in the lap of the love of his life. you were his soulmate, heâd honestly say yes to anything you asked.
so he lets his eyes close, hand coming up to curl around your knee, wanting to touch you even as he starts drifting again.
and he knew when he woke up, you two would eat dinner, hopefully take a shower together and then go to sleep for even longer, but together this time.
together was always better with you, and he would choose you every time.

jester!gojo who hides his devotion behind laughter so sharp it borders on reckless. the court laughs when he bows dramatically at your feet, bells chiming softly from his sleeves, but his gaze lingers a second too long on your face after everyone looks away. outside, rain rattles gently against stained glass windows while he jokes about losing his head for you as though it means nothing at all.
jester!gojo who waits for you in empty corridors after royal banquets. candlelight flickers gold across painted walls while he leans against the stone archway spinning a dagger lazily between his fingers. âyou looked lonely tonight,â he murmurs with a crooked smile, voice unusually quiet beneath the distant sound of music.
jester!gojo who steals moments instead of treasures. your hand brushing his while he fixes the heavy rings on your fingers. your soft laughter muffled beneath velvet curtains while the ballroom dances on without you. every touch is brief enough to deny and intimate enough to ruin him entirely.
jester!gojo who kisses you like an apology the first time it happens. hurried and breathless in the castle gardens beneath midnight drizzle, his gloved hand trembling faintly against your jaw despite the grin he tries to wear through it. âtell me to stop,â he whispers softly against your mouth, sounding for once like a man instead of a performer.
jester!gojo who grows quieter the more deeply he falls in love. the tricks become slower, the laughter softer around the edges, as if exhaustion is finally catching up to him. some nights you find him alone near the palace windows watching snowfall bury the kingdom in silence, bells muted beneath layers of white while he admits, barely above a murmur, âi think i forgot how to leave.â
jester!gojo who knows your marriage will someday be arranged for politics rather than love. still, he stays beside your throne during long winter evenings pouring wine into your cup with steady hands, pretending not to notice how your fingers linger against his wrist afterward. when dawn begins creeping pale blue across the room, he presses a secret kiss against your knuckles and smiles like heartbreak is just another performance heâs learned to survive.

synopsis: you go with your roomate, nerdjo, to shop for his Pokemon cards
pairing: gojo x gn! reader
content: "pre-relationship", nerd!gojo, roomate!gojo, no prns used for reader, no use of y/n, fluff!!!, 935 words
You jolted awake, being shaken relentlessly by your roommate.
âHey! Dude! Wake up! Hey! Hello?â his voice echoes in your half asleep mind. What could possibly make him wake you like this. A fire?
You murmur, still half-asleep, âWhat?...What do you want?â
You begin to slowly lift yourself off your extremely comfortable bed and blink yourself awake. Looking at Gojo, who's hovering over your bed, you see his wide, excited eyes.Â
âThe Gamestop near us restocked their Mega EvolutionâPitch Black Pokemon TCG set. We need to go before the scalpers come!â
You stare at him. He might as well just have yelled at you in a mixture of Pig Latin and German. Whatever he just said, you have no idea what it meant.
You groan as you throw your legs over the side of the bed, âWhatâŚtime is it?â Your voice is gravelly, still dehydrated.
â6AMâHurry up! Get dressed!â
Before you could even fully stand up, Gojo tosses a pair of jeans right at your face.Â
âNot even a good morning,â you mumble to yourself as you begrudgingly throw on whatever clothes are closest to you. Itâs not like the basement-dwellers at the Gamestop will care about what you're wearing.
After a few minutes, youâre spinning your car keys on your finger. Sadly, youâve somehow become this guy's personal chauffeur. Gojo was already waiting next to your car parked outside.
You sigh as you drag yourself into the car. A full hour of your already puny life is going to be wasted opening Pokemon packs with this nerd on the floor of a Gamestop.
âSoâŚwhat are you going to even do with these cards once you get them?â you ask as you put the car into reverse.
âWell, I put them in this toploader binder to keep them safe.â
Your brow furrows, âAnd thenâŚ?â
âWhatddyaâ mean âand thenâ?â he asks as if you personally insulted everything he lived for, which, to him, is basically what you did.
âI meanâŚthereâs nothing more to it?â
âI guess some people actually play the trading card game. But there's not really any tournaments near us.â
âSo itâs just glorified gambling where all your spendings sits in a binder and collects dust?â
âIt doesnât collect dust! I look at them all the time, I swear!â
âYou didnât deny the gambling part.â
He scoffs and crosses his arms.
âAlright,â you say as you pull into the mall parking lot, âWe made it to the casino.â
He grumbles as he gets out. You follow suit.
Almost instinctually, Gojo treks through the busy mall as if he had a primal instinct telling him exactly where the Gamestop was. In under five minutes, you were already there.
Entering the Gamestop, youâre greeted with the smell of must, old carpet, and something unidentifiable, probably the odor of the several unshowered men in this store.Â
âThere it is!â he rushes over to the stack of shiny, plastic packs on the shelf full of other playing card sets. Bending over, he reaches to the very back of the stack, grabbing three packs of cards. You look down at the price tag stationed below the stack. 9.99 per pack.Â
You exhale slowly, âYou know thatâs like $30, right?âÂ
He nods, completely aware of the amount of money heâs wasting on his glamorized spending.
You both walk up to the checkout. Gojo places the packs on the counter. As the cashier rings up the cards, you pull out your card. This doesnât go unnoticed by Gojo.
âStopâstop that,â he softly pushes your hand away from the register, âIâm fine,â he chuckles.
You quickly slide your card on the payment terminal before he could stop you, âItâs okay, Gojo,â your lips quirked into a smile as you put your card back into your wallet, âI like seeing you happy.â
He reached to rub the back of his neck, a nervous habit he developed when he got embarrassed but didnât want to show it.
âThanks,â he whispered, picking up the Pokemon packs. He hands you the first pack, âYou open it, since you know, you paid.â
âReally?â You really were surprised; he loved opening these things, treating them like they were his own newborn children. âOk then,â you begin to unwrap the pack, starting from the back like youâve watched Gojo do.
You flip through the cards slowly, one by one. You glance for a second at Gojo. His eyes were bright with anticipation. You werenât lying when you said you liked seeing him happy. Making it to the very last card without much reaction from Gojo, you look down at the final card in your hand. You pause. Its surface was reflective and black, unlike all of the other cards you just skimmed through.
âGojo, why does this oneâlook different?â you bring the card closer to your face to read it, âMega Darkrai?â
Gojoâs eyes widened, practically popping out of his face.
âMega Darkai!?â he took the card out of your hand to confirm, âThis is at least $394!â He puts the card in the toploader he was carrying in his pocket before jumping and wrapping his arms around your neck. Your body is met with his warm frame. It felt like being pressed against a slightly soft, warm wall.
He lowers his face to whisper a gentle âI love youâ into your ear.
You laugh and you hug him back.
âLetâs get home so we can protect that thing, yeah?â you say as you release him. He nods, grinning ear to ear. Grasping your index with his soft hand, he walks with you out of the store.
a/n: yes, i had to unfortunately go on REDDIT to find out the newest Pokemon TCG pack and their prices

âď¸
you woke up slowly, slower than you were used to.Â
not abruptly, riddled with panic that had no real cause other than the anxiety buzzing beneath your skin. there was no immediate fight or flight feeling that made your heart race and lungs tight. there was no forgotten nightmare that lingered long after your eyes opened, tainting your day before it even started.Â
you woke comfortably, your face warm and something solid rested beneath your cheek, rising and falling in a steady rhythm that lulled you right back toward sleep if you let it.Â
a soft weight was wrapped around your hips, holding you in place while warmth surrounded you entirely.Â
you couldnât remember the last time you'd slept this deeply.Â
it felt embarrassing to admit even to yourself.Â
your brows furrowed slightly as your eyes blinked open and you immediately wished you hadnât.Â
oh fuck.Â
for a moment, you simply stared. your cheek was pressed directly against satoruâs bare chest, one of your legs tangled comfortably between his while his arm remained firmly around your waist, all solid and heavy.Â
the realization washed over you, making something unpleasantly warm crawl up your neck.Â
you were practically laying on top of him!
your gaze slowly drifted upwards to see that satoru was still asleep, the morning light spilling through the curtains and they softened him in a way you couldnât help but admire.Â
it washed away his usual arrogance and mischief that seemed permanently attached to his features, leaving behind something purer and more boyish.Â
his snowy hair was a mess atop his head, unfairly long lashes gently rested against his cheeks and his mouth was slightly parted.Â
there was something strangely vulnerable about him like this, almost human.
ugh, you hated it immediately!
you were horrified, simply put.Â
not only did you wake up in satoru gojoâs arms but youâd stayed there the whole night.Â
your throat tightened.Â
you couldnât remember the last time youâd slept through an entire night without waking up every few hours and staring blankly at the ceiling, spiraling thoughts keeping you company until sunrise.Â
instead, you had a deep and comfortable sleep. the kind you genuinely thought stopped existing for you years ago.Â
and somehow, against all reason, your brain supplied the answer before you could stop it.Â
satoru.Â
you physically recoiled from the thought.Â
the movement caused satoruâs grip to tighten instinctively around your waist and your stomach dropped.Â
fuck, this was so so so bad.Â
your rules were practically meaningless now.Â
you carefully lifted his arm from your waist, holding your breath the entire time as you slowly untangled yourself from him.Â
after waiting for a second, eyes trained on his features, he was unmoving still and you breathed out.Â
the second your feet touched the carpeted floors, relief flooded through you.
your clothes from last night were dry now, resting against the armchair and you made a beeline for the items, putting them on quickly but quietly.Â
as your jeans buttoned fully, you heard shuffling from the bed behind you and your heart dropped.Â
slowly, almost amusingly careful, you turned around to see that satoru hadnât moved from his position.Â
one arm tucked beneath his head, icy eyes half-open beneath the morning light as he watched you from his place in bed.Â
for the first time since youâd met the boy, you felt your stomach churn.Â
your stomach fluttered, not anxiety exactly, but something closer to apprehension.Â
you could barely name it, but you felt a bit nervous.Â
you were never nervous!
âum, i uh-â you cleared your throat once as satoru watched you lowly, jaw clenched under your gaze, âi should get home.âÂ
a beat passed, then another and you hated to admit how much you despised silence from satoru. he was always irritatingly loud and his silence kind of unnerved you.Â
your eyes didnât leave him, wide and watching, unusually unguarded and even he could see that.Â
satoru closed his eyes once more then, pulling the blanket up higher to his chin and essentially going back to sleep.Â
you felt a pang in your chest, his hurt practically tangible in the air between you.Â
it isnât my fault!
you had to remind yourself of that. the nature of your relationship was laid out clearly and he couldnât blame you for re-establishing them every time you accidentally stepped over the line.Â
so with that, you grabbed your bag from beside the door and exited his room.Â
unbeknownst to you, satoruâs eyes fluttered open once more, chest heavy as he watched the door to his room close and he felt his jaw clench.Â
and for once, it wasnât hurt that settled but anger.Â
fucking annoyance.Â
it was utterly irritating how you refused to let him in.Â
you were a fucking nuissance and he wanted you more than anything.Â
âď¸
there was something wrong with you, you were sure.Â
why was your anxiety flaring up? why were you so uneasy?Â
why is satoru being off with you throwing you off your axis?
you noticed the change instantly, but refused to acknowledge it.Â
itâs been three days since youâd woken up atop satoru gojo and heâd made no effort to see or text you since then. three.
this was unusual considering the frat president normally found at least six excuses a day to bother you.Â
youâd become accustomed to random texts that made no sense, texts telling you to come to parties or him simply sending you his location.Â
youâd ignore most of them anyways, so when your phone remained suspiciously quiet, you simply carried on with your day.Â
what did it matter? if anything, space was perfect after the way youâd embarrassingly been atop him that morning.Â
except you kept glancing at your phone throughout the second day then immediately becoming increasingly irritated with yourself.Â
what were you expecting exactly? a good morning text?Â
ugh, you nearly gagged at the thought.Â
your feet swung back and forth where youâd been laying on your stomach atop your bedsheets.Â
when your thumbs hovered over his contact anyways, you blamed it on the fact that you were bored and needed a distraction.Â
trouble: come over?Â
8:32pm
his response came twenty minutes later. twenty.Â
usually, the text would barely be received before heâd already answered.Â
and the response made you wish you had never sent a text in the first place.
gojo: busyÂ
8:54pm
busy? busy?Â
your jaw clenched momentarily, a feeling you werenât quite used to settling in your stomach like a bag of bricks.Â
his text was left unanswered.Â
you blamed the stupid storm and your stupid self for letting yourself sleep, unknowingly making you more vulnerable.Â
you wanted nothing more than to go back and erase that from happening completely, but you couldnât. so youâll settle for regret.Â
you were sprawled out on the grass beside luna, attempting to work on your paper while she rambled on about some girls from her economics lecture.Â
it was sunny that day, warm enough that students littered the campus in little groups.Â
âso, i told her-â luna paused momentarily, âare you even listening?âÂ
your eyes snapped to her from where youâd been scanning the quad, huffing with a short nod quickly, cheeks uncharacteristically warm.Â
âyes, of course iâm listening!â
luna seemed unconvinced, eyes narrowed but she didnât spare one more second before going back into her discussion. thatâs what you loved about luna, she was truly the perfect distraction.Â
until she started asking a million questions, then you were simply annoyed.Â
it was a tuesday, meaning satoru usually came by after practice despite not having a single class anywhere near the science building.Â
he always showed up purely to pester you like a particularly persistent stray cat.Â
sometimes heâd bring you a cherry coke, sometimes a chai latte, depending on the weather. and sometimes heâd bring pastries and sit beside you, absolutely annoying you to near death.Â
you thought youâd feel relief once he stopped, except your eyes kept drifting around, waiting for him to appear. no, willing him to appear.Â
just as you went to snap yourself out of this limbo heâd put you in, you spotted him.Â
it was embarrassing how your stomach instantly settled.Â
only to drop again.Â
satoru walked across the quad with nanami beside him, hands tucked into the pockets of his sweats as his sunglasses rested atop his head.Â
satoru was laughing at something nanami had said, properly laughing and your eyes followed him automatically.Â
satoru glanced over, gaze finding yours as if fate herself had dragged his eyes over.Â
your face remained neutral but you didnât look away. but he did.Â
satoru looked away without a grin, a wave or coming over, simply leaving alongside his friend.Â
your stomach twisted unpleasantly, eyes immediately moving downcast.Â
âouchâŚâ luna stated as she turned to watch you.Â
you lifted your head up, eyes blank, âwhat?âÂ
lunaâs brows raised, âwerenât you two, like, besties just last week?âÂ
your ribs tightened, âtch. i told you weâre not friends.âÂ
and it was true. you werenât lying.Â
satoru and you were anything but friends, barely even acquaintances!Â
so why should you care that he was being so annoying?
âyou sure?â luna hummed, violet hair bouncing a bit, âcuz everytime we sit here, heâs really eager to-âÂ
âluna.â you cut off, refusing to acknowledge the pit at your stomach, âsatoru means nothing to me. can we stop talking about this?âÂ
you placed your ipad beside you on the grass, huffing as you pulled your legs to your chest, resting your chin on your knees.Â
ugh, he was so irritating!
you donât remember the last time you spared any person, besides your brothers and grandma, this much thought. let alone satoru!Â
thatâs what you liked about him from the start, that you didnât have to think when you were with him. heâs ruining everything!
âdid he say anything about tonightâs party?âÂ
your ears perked up like a damn cat, head turning to face her, âparty?âÂ
âmhmm.â luna nodded eagerly, ever the biggest fan of sartoruâs idiot frat, âiâm not sure of the theme but it should be insane! can he invite us?âÂ
your tongue poked against your cheek, eyes narrowed on your friend as your mind moved a mile a minute.Â
practically every party satoru had ever invited you to, youâd rejected.Â
and now he didnât even bother to invite you. that just irritated you more.Â
âweâre invited luna.â you smiled at her, almost smirking as she narrowed her eyes at you but grinned eagerly regardless.Â
âseriously?â she excitedly voiced as you nodded with a shrug.Â
âyup.â you nodded once, âweâre going.â
luna eyed you suspiciously, uncharacteristically wary about a party, âyou sure? do you even know the theme?â
no, you didnât. but how hard would that be to figure out?Â
youâd become somewhat friendly with the frat the last few months. well, at least your kind of friendly.Â
you could just ask.Â
âď¸
it was an ABC party.Â
Anything But Clothes.Â
music bled through the walls violently enough that you could feel the bass vibrating beneath your shoes while bodies crowded the front lawn in every imaginable interpretation of the theme.Â
people wearing trash bags were on the roof, a girl wearing a whole outfit made from beer boxes waiting in line for sukuna to let her in and a guy walked past wearing nothing but purple bubble wrap around his crotch.Â
âcollege is a disease.â you muttered as you watched the insane state of the alpha phi house.Â
luna snorted beside you, âsays the girl wearing caution tape.âÂ
you glanced down at yourself, the bright yellow tape wrapped around your body in overlapping strips, creating a sort of mini dress. technically.Â
it had taken nearly two hours and a breakdown to assemble.Â
âugh, this is ridiculous.âÂ
âhey, you look hot!â luna stated with a grin as she adjusted her makeshift crop top that was made out of playing cards. she looked great too.Â
âalright, letâs go.â you stated as you looked at the line outside the frat that stretched down the porch steps and practically down the block.Â
pledges stood near the entrance checking names while drunk sophomore and freshman attempted to negotiate.Â
your stomach twisted then. maybe this was all stupid.Â
fuck, you shouldâve stayed home! what were you even thinking?Â
satoru obviously doesnât want you here and he clearly has no interest in speaking to you.Â
ânext.â the deep voice immediately pulled your attention forward.Â
sukuna. of course.
the vice president stood at the front of the door like a nightclub bouncer from hell, arms crossed and expression murderous.Â
so murderous, you didnât even feel the need to laugh at the pool noodles wrapped around his crotch like a diaper.Â
he looked thoroughly unimpressed as the guy stepped forward, âc-carson.âÂ
the poor freshman in front of him visibly swallowed as sukuna looked down at his phone.Â
he didn't even speak, simply looked up and shot the kid a look, as if daring him to argue that he was on the list.Â
âum, i-â
ânext!âÂ
luna winced from beside you, âas much as i would love sukuna to yell at me, heâs really scary.âÂ
you nodded once, âhe enjoys this.âÂ
sukunaâs eyes lifted then, rolling his eyes at the two freshman girls babbling excuses and flirtatious remarks at him. then his eyes met yours.
his gaze dropped to the caution tape, slowly and deliberately before lifting back to your face, his lip twitching.Â
âwhat the fuck are you wearing?âÂ
you scoffed, âi know youâre not asking me that.âÂ
sukunaâs smirk instantly fell, as if you reminded him just how ridiculous he looked, âshut up.âÂ
you grinned falsely as sukuna rolled his eyes once, looking mildly annoyed which probably meant he wasnât actually annoyed.Â
âname.â he stated flatly, eyes tinged with a touch of amusement.Â
your eyes narrowed, âyou know my name-â
âname.âÂ
he raised a brow as you stared back, eyes narrowed and arms crossed.Â
luna was practically trembling beside you, hand reaching out to hold your arm, as if in warning.Â
âum, sheâs not even in line!â a freshman girl whined from the front of the line, pouting up at the salmon haired man.Â
he offered her a sharp side eye that not only made her shrink back but her and her friend both scurried away.Â
youâd barely paid attention to him at that point because you saw a glimpse of white hair inside the house and your heart flipped once.Â
ânot on here.â sukuna announced after glancing at his phone, a smirk tilting his mouth up as you glared at him.Â
âwell, check again.â you demanded, arms crossing once more, eyes frantic as they tried to follow the moving head of white. you knew damn well your name wasnât on that list on his stupid phone.Â
sukuna raised a brow once more, âiâd be nicer to me, sweetheart. mâthe one that can magically make you appear on this list.âÂ
your jaw clenched once as his smirk remained painted on his ruggedly handsome face.Â
this asshole.Â
âum, maybe we should just go-âÂ
âlet me in, asshole.âÂ
the words left you before you could stop them, tumbling from the tip of your tongue, absolutely riddled with your desperation to get inside.Â
luna practically squeaked as her wide eyes looked between you and sukuna.Â
the front of the line had gone quiet as well, awaiting the wrath of the vice president.Â
meanwhile, sukunaâs face didnât change and if anything, his smirk widened.Â
âthat your version of nice?âÂ
he almost sounded amused but you were anything but, huffing gently as your features melted into a scowl, âwhat do you want?âÂ
sukuna huffed out a laugh, âhow bout we say you owe me one.âÂ
now, you didnât know sukuna all that well but you knew enough to know that owing ryomen sukuna could not be a good thing.Â
you, in your right state of mind, would have simply walked away, but you werenât in the right state of mind. you were under some sort of curse caused by the frat president and you would do anything to stop feeling this way.
youâd been feeling weird the past few days and desperation to see satoru clung to your bones. you were probably just sexualy frustrated, that was all.Â
âfine.âÂ
sukunaâs smirk widened, stepping away from the door, âhave fun, sweetheart.âÂ
you merely shot him a glare as luna clung to your arm as you both walked into the chaos of the party that looked somehow worse from the inside.Â
music rattled your ribcage, people dancing on tables and a girl had fully had two solo cups on each breast and around eight covering her lower half.Â
âthis is insane!â luna practically squealed, the words of fear she wanted to utter about sukuna dying in her throat, âlook, itâs cole! iâm gonna go before ava gets to him!âÂ
she didnât give you the chance to respond before she was zooming past you towards the blonde who you assumed to be cole.Â
you shook your head softly, eyes lifting as you moved towards the kitchen to grab a drink.Â
you willed your eyes to keep forward and not to scan the entire room like you desperately wanted to.Â
with a small sigh, you grabbed a drink and leaned back on the counter, eyes drifting across the sea of people. Â
you were not looking for satoru. you simply wanted to walk around, so you did.Â
your feet carried you to each corner of the room, eyes scanning and checking before you made it to the little side room that was usually open.Â
and after ten minutes of absolutely not looking for satoru gojo, youâd found him.Â
or rather, youâd heard him.Â
âYOU HAVE TO MAKE OUT!âÂ
your brows furrowed as you moved towards the open door and lo and behold, there he was.Â
satoru was sprawled across the floor amongst a circle of people, white hair messy and eyes almost bloodshot.Â
and he was practically naked. oh god.Â
you looked at his version of anything but clothes and you wondered if he missed that the point is that you have to make clothes out of the item. meaning he should not be naked.Â
satoru had a three giant ruby christmas bows around his crotch and ass.Â
and despite the ridiculousness of it all, he looked damn good.Â
his lean figure was leaning back on his hands, muscles bulging and chest glistening with a thin layer of sweat from, no doubt, his partying.Â
there were a group of people, around seven, seated on the floor with an empty beer bottle in the middle.Â
besides satoru, youâd only recognized nanami and that alone surprised you.Â
whatever they were playing, you didn't think nanami would be taking part.Â
you werenât sure how long youâd been standing there but it mustâve been long because when you looked back at satoru, he was already looking at you.Â
something flashed across his face as your eyes met his, something akin to relief.Â
but you were more focused on the bloodshot nature of his eyes, you had no doubt he was both high and drunk.Â
you hated it.Â
his gaze softened on you before the softness disappeared just as quickly.Â
âhi.â you stated simply as satoruâs jaw clenched at the mere sound of your voice.Â
âhey.â the word left him flat, almost cold.
it sounded all wrong, causing your jaw to clench gently.Â
what the fuck was his issue?
âweâre playing seven minutes in heaven!â a girl announced, slurring her words as your eyes flatly met hers, âcome play so weâre equal!â
your mouth opened to protest-
âshe doesnât wanna play.â satoru stated lowly, bringing his beer to his lips as his gaze avoided yours and your fists clenched.Â
fuck him!
without a word, you moved towards the circle, taking a seat directly beside satoru.Â
his eyes followed you, almost surprised before his eyes flared in irritation.Â
âyou look like a mess.â you stated lowly, referring to the distant bloodshot look in his eyes.Â
âyou look like a construction site.âÂ
a few people within the circle barked out a laugh as your jaw clenched, satoruâs lips twitching.Â
âokay, letâs play.â the girl announced as you looked forward, meeting nanamiâs eyes as he shot you a gentle smile that you returned lowly.Â
âwhy are you here?â satoru whispered beside you as you turned to shoot him a glare, irritation bubbling beneath your ribs at his indifference.
two people drunkenly stumbled into the closet in the room, already pawing at each otherâs clothes as the girl started the timer. seven minutes.Â
âwhat kind of question is that?â you scoffed, face devoid of emotion as you faced forward once more, ignoring satoruâs gaze on the side of your face.Â
âpretty simple one.âÂ
âitâs a party. people come to parties, yâknow.âÂ
satoru chuckled but it lacked any real humor, ânot you. trust me, iâd know that.âÂ
your eyes flickered over to him then, noting the bitterness lacing his words.Â
âwhat is your problem?âÂ
finally, his gaze slid towards yours, blue eyes bloodshot and unfairly pretty.Â
âdonât got one.âÂ
you scoffed once more, âyeah, clearly.âÂ
âcareful, sweetheart, you almost sound like you care.â satoru smirked menacingly, voice dipped in bite you werenât used to from satoru.Â
your stomach twisted as realization overcame you, memories of leaving behind a half-asleep satoru plaguing your mind.Â
around you, everyone was gossiping, predicting what the two were doing in the closet, unaware of the tension between you both.Â
âyouâre seriously upset about that?â your voice was back to being monotonous, guard high and eyes blank. satoru felt his stomach twist but his expression didnât change.Â
âupset?âÂ
âyes.âÂ
âdidnât know i was upset.â his tone matched yours and you had to fight to remain emotionless because god, you wanted to ring his neck.Â
your jaw clenched, âyouâre acting pretty upset.â
âand youâre acting like sleeping in my bed was a federal crime.âÂ
your eyes widened just a bit, âkeep your voice down!âÂ
âwhy?â
âbecause!âÂ
satoru leaned closer, breath fanning over your cheek, âbecause what?âÂ
you hated him. you absolutely despised him.Â
he always fucking did this, he poked and poked and poked until he found the one thing you didnât want to talk about.Â
your jaw clenched as the two began stumbling out of the closet, hair a mess and clothes askew.Â
you looked forward, ignoring the man beside you and you could feel his gaze on the side of your face.Â
âyou left.â his voice left him quieter now, not as angry and somehow, that felt worse.Â
you glanced at him, watching his jaw clench and nostrils flare as he met your gaze, âyou always leave, thatâs what you do.âÂ
you looked away again and immediately regretted it as a soft laugh left him, bitter and real.Â
ârightâŚâÂ
your hands turned to fists by your sides, hating that he basically made you prove his point.Â
damn him. your stomach clenched because you hadnât expected his words.Â
for a second, he looked tired and something beneath your ribs twisted.Â
you really shouldnât have come, this was just making everything inside you, whatever this sickness was, feel even worse.Â
âalright!â the girl running the game clapped loudly, saving you from whatever this conversation wouldâve become, ânext spin!âÂ
the bottle spun and everyone starting making suspenseful ooohs and ahhhs.Â
you watched it lazily, mind far away as your mind remained occupied on satoru's words.
the bottle spun slower and slower until it stopped, pointing directly at the man beside you.Â
the room erupted instantly.Â
âGOJO! LETâS GOOO!â
satoru rolled his eyes, smirking lowly as if feeding his fans and you could see the fakeness from where you were. it was pathetic.Â
âspin again!â the girl grinned, sitting up wider and you could practically see her entire soul wishing the bottle would stop on her and frankly, you hoped it did.Â
so you could fucking leave while he was in the damn closet and forget youâd ever even came.Â
satoruâs hand wrapped around the bottle, giving it a hard spin and you watched it rotate.Â
once, twice, three times before it gradually slowedâŚ
and your stomach dropped. because the bottle wasnât stopping, it was landing directly on you.Â
everyone cheered, the girls evidently disappointed as you stared at the bottle, then at satoru.Â
satoru was already looking at you and for the first time that night, he smiled. a real, him smile.Â
slow, dangerous and boyish.
âwould ya look at thatâŚâ his eyes locked onto yours, âalmost like fate, donât ya think?âÂ
yes, you really could ring his neck.
âď¸
the second the door shut behind you, the cheering outside became muffled.Â
like the rest of the party had been shoved underwater as you entered the dark and cramped closet. the place was small, way too fucking small to fit two people, let alone satoruâs 6â5 ass.Â
satoru had been in this very closet a hundred times before with a hundred different girls, different intentions, different conversations or lack-thereof.Â
heâd never once felt nervous. yet somehow, standing two feet away from you had his heart betray his decision to distance himself.
âugh, i can barely breatheâŚâ you complained, crossing your arms as the little light allowed him to only imagine the look of annoyance on your achingly pretty face.Â
fuck, when he saw you in that stupid caution tape sorry excuse of a dress, he regretted his decision to go with christmas bows on his cock.Â
he was achingly hard for you, not even just physically but mentally.Â
he had a heart boner for you too, he concluded. because the mere sight of you made a sense of relief so deeprooted fill him in an instant.Â
satoru rolled his eyes at your words, despite the beating of his heart hammering against his chest, âthe lack of space is supposed to serve a purpose, sweetheart-â
âstop calling me that!â you huffed out, squirming against him as satoru scoffed.Â
âsweetheart?â
âyes! itâs cheesy and stupid and you never call me that, so quit it.â the words left you dripping in annoyance and he relished in pulling that reaction from you.Â
any reaction from you was better than your indifference, even if it was severe irritation.Â
âyou call me gojo and i donât like it-â
âthatâs your name!â
ânot to you,â satoru breathed out before realizing how his words sound, âi mean, people i donât like call me gojo, ones iâm not close toâŚso, you shouldnât call me thatâŚâ
he was met with silence and he sighed, able to picture you as you practically crawled back into your shell.Â
he shook his head as his knees cramped, âfuck, can you just-â
before you knew it, satoru was sinking to the ground with you in his grip, pulling you to sit on his lip, straddling him and though you were caught by surprise, relief filled you instantly at the comfortable position.Â
satoru let out a sigh of exasperation as his legs stretched out a bit, head tilting back against the wall.Â
you relaxed in his hold, âdonât be so thrilled.âÂ
satoru barked out a laugh, ârich coming from you.â
your eyes narrowed, âmeaning?âÂ
âmeaning you look like somebodyâs holding you hostage.â
âyou canât even see me!â
âi can feel it!âÂ
âwell, sorry i didnât even wanna play.âÂ
satoru tilted his head as his chest clenched in anticipation, âthen why did you?â
your jaw clenched and he could feel you stiffen up in his lap, "because they asked.âÂ
satoru scoffed once as you squirmed against him, âbullshit.âÂ
âexcuse me?â you shifted again and his jaw clenched, big hands spanning your hips before pulling you down, keeping you there. and you understood his issue, conceding.Â
the lack of clothes made it hard to miss.Â
âi said bullshit.â satoru repeated, his grip tightening as he shook his head, âyou hate people.â
you scoffed gently, âi do not hate people.â
âyou hate most people.âÂ
you rolled your eyes once, âwhatâs your point?âÂ
sartoruâs jaw clenched as he debated getting into this. there was a chance, a huge one, that this would just make you want to run even more.Â
he may never see you again after today but he would risk it even if the thought made him want to vomit because frankly, he couldnât take the heartache anymore.Â
âwhyâd you come?â satoru demanded more than asked as your expression flattened, he could fucking feel it. there it was, that goddamn wall that he despised more than anything.Â
âi already told you.â you replied as he shook his head.Â
âi wanna hear it.âÂ
âitâs a party. people come to parties.â
âand i already told you, you donât. name fucking three parties youâve attended voluntarily.âÂ
the light from the little sliver of space offered him a look at your irritated expression, you looked annoyed enough to bite him and satoru found himself smiling in victory.Â
âyouâre insufferable.â you whispered as he grinned.Â
âyou came anyway.âÂ
there was this silent understanding, a low hum of truth that filtered between you both, something youâd usually never allow to linger.Â
you came for him. and he knew that. and you allowed him to know that.Â
that was more than youâve ever given him before and for now, it was enough.Â
silence filled the space momentarily before your voice penetrated it, uncharacteristically soft and low, âyouâve stopped talking to me.âÂ
the words left you so quietly, he almost missed them but his entire being was so attuned to you that he simply couldnât miss anything when it came to you.
he blinked once, twice and watched as your face twisted in subtle embarrassment, regret filling you at the vulnerability he could see. as if it escaped you accidentally.Â
and his heart nearly punched through his ribs because holy shit, you noticed. not only that, but you cared.
satoru laughed, actually laughed and you felt your face twist in irritation, âwhat is so funny, asshole?â
satoruâs hand moved to splay across your lower back, pulling you just a bit closer, âyou leave every single time we hang out-â
âwe donât hang out, satoru, we have sex!âÂ
satoru. satoru. satoru.Â
you called him satoru and not fucking gojo.Â
his chest twisted as if your hand reached through his sternum and petted at his heart that was so entirely gone for you, he was sick.Â
âyou know whatâs crazy?âÂ
you rolled your eyes, âhere we go.âÂ
âyou slept on me!â satoru stated lowly, âyou slept on me.â
âdonât remind me.â your arms crossed once more, jaw clenching as satoru scoffed as if he wasnât even hearing you.Â
âyou fully drooled on meâŚâ
your face warmed, eyes widening, âi did not!â Â
âyou literally did!â satoru exclaimed with bright eyes, the anger diminishing just enough for you to recognize him once more.Â
you looked genuinely horrified and satoru laughed so hard, he nearly doubled over.Â
god, he missed you, he missed this which was honestly pathetic.Â
âyouâre such an asshole.â
âand youâre a runner.â satoru claimed with a shake of his head, the words slipping out before he could think about them.
your expression changed then, the space between you growing tense once again.Â
fuck, he shouldnât have said that.Â
you felt raw, as if someone had stripped you naked, looked for your oldest scar and carved into it again.Â
he could tell you were hurt and he was drunk and hurt. and you were right there, close enough to touch, to kiss, to want.Â
âi didnât mean-âÂ
âitâs fine.â the words left you sharp and it cut through the air as he sighed, hands moving from your hips to his face, digging into it with a shake of his head.Â
âno, no itâs not,â he looked at you then, âiâm just drunk and high and stupidâŚâ
you remained quiet, fingers fiddling with the caution tape fraying by your side, jaw clenched and walls up so high, he could barely tell what you were thinking but god, could he feel it.Â
then satoru panicked.Â
âyou give me boners!â
your eyes widened just a bit, startled as you looked up at him, ever the most straightforward man of all time, apparently.
âexcuse me?â you breathed out as satoru groaned, mind too jumbled to think properly and honestly, he preferred it this way.Â
âyouâŚyou give me boners.â satoru stated lowly, slurring just the slightest bit as the last three shots he took back to back twenty minutes ago hit him all at once.Â
you sighed gently, âisnât that the point of our dynamic, satoru?â
satoru groaned as he realized his words didnât quite mean what he intended for them to mean.Â
âno, i meanâŚâ he breathed out slowly, âyou give me all kinds of boners likeâŚlike in my heart and stuff.â
your brows furrowed in confusion, âi give youâŚheart boners?â
satoru nodded frantically, hands gripping your hips again, pulling you even closer till you were flush against him, caution tape against his muscled front, âyes! yeah, youâŚyou give me heart boners all the time, even when you're not even there.âÂ
you were too focused on his body against yours, more specifically, the christmas bow snug against your panties, âyou sure, satoru? cuz i can only feel one type of boner right now.â
satoru huffed in irritation as his confession flew right over your head.Â
seven minutes suddenly felt way too short and way too long.Â
just as his mouth opened to speak, light spilled into the closet and both your eyes squinted up at nanami who stood before you, face all too unimpressed at your compromising position.Â
âits been longer than seven minutes. weâve been calling out for you for a while.â nanami stated lowly before turning to walk away and you were quick to jump up from satoruâs lap, stumbling out of the closet as you looked at satoru in what had to be the most uncomfortable position on the ground.Â
satoru groaned lowly before stumbling into a standing position, hand cupping the christmas bow at the front, âthink gameâs over for me.â
you gulped lowly, ignoring everyoneâs cheers before stepping back, âyeah, me too.âÂ
you offered satoru one last look before walking past the circle and out of the room, towards the drinks. fuck, you really needed a drink.Â
âď¸
the party had somehow gotten louder or maybe you were simply reaching your limit.Â
either way, the music felt harsher now, the room hotter, bodies moving together in a blur of alcohol and flashing lights.Â
you had been trying to find luna while simultaneously avoiding satoru for the past hour.Â
fuck, you just wanted to go home but you couldnât leave luna and she wasnât answering her damn phone.
the closet had done absolutely nothing to improve your mood, instead, it made your regrets about coming to this stupid party even worse.Â
satoruâs words followed you through every room you entered as you tried to locate your purple haired friend.Â
youâre a runner.Â
the worst part about it all is that everything he had said was right. and you fucking hated that he even noticed, that he cared enough to notice in the first place.Â
a frustrated sigh left you as you looked down at your dying phone, lunaâs contact staring back at you, all your calls and texts left unanswered.
the house seemed less crowded now, people dispersing into bedrooms, hallways and the pool as the night stretched later and you had to dodge every guy that came to hit on you. yuck.Â
you barely registered the conversations happening around you until a familiar voice cut through the noise.
âheâs a fuckinâ mess.âÂ
your head turned automatically, suguru standing near the staircase, rubbing the back of his neck while nanami looked vaguely exhausted beside him.Â
âwhere is he?â nanami questioned, bringing his cup up to his lips to take a sip.Â
suguru pointed toward the living room, âhe decided he could outdrink sukuna.âÂ
despite yourself, your eyes drifted towards the living room and they instantly found him. of course they did.Â
satoru was slumped sideways across the couch, one arm hanging off the edge, snowy hair a complete mess.Â
he looked absolutely gone.Â
your stomach tightened as you glanced between him and lunaâs contact.Â
âheâs fineâŚâ you muttered to yourself as you shook your head.Â
âheâs absolutely not fine.â suguru stated from beside you as you turned to look at him, the slightest bit startled as you didn't realize how close they were before you noticed the knowing look on his face, instantly irritating you.Â
âhe drinks all the time.â you retorted lowly, eyes giving nothing away as suguru scoffed out a chuckle.Â
ânot like this, he only does this shit when heâs upset.â
something in suguruâs voice made your attention sharpen as you stiffened, âwhy would he be upset?âÂ
suguru merely stared as nanami cleared his throat from beside him, âprobably something to do with those seven minutes.âÂ
your jaw clenched before letting out a breath, âright.â
before you knew it, choso had called out for the two men beside you, something about a sophomore puking in the pool. Â
you hated how you felt half responsible for satoruâs current state.Â
a low sigh left you as you glanced at the living room once more, however this time, a girl was leaning over him.Â
your brows furrowed, moving closer to see the girl with inky hair in a bob clad in a tiny skirt far too close to him, one hand resting against his chest.Â
she was talking into his ear while he sat there, looking dazed and half-asleep.Â
your gut churned once more. god, you were really getting sick of that feeling.Â
the girl laughed at something satoru mumbled, her hand moving into his hair and something ugly flared beneath your ribs.Â
you hated how much the sight was making you sick, how vulnerable satoru looked and you hated that your feet were already moving before your brain could catch up.Â
the walk across the room felt entirely too long and every step gave you another opportunity to turn around. you didnât.Â
by the time you reached the couch, the girl was in his lap, kissing down his damp neck.Â
your jaw clenched, âhey.âÂ
the word left you sharp, cutting through whatever intimacy she was imagining was occurring between them.Â
the girl turned and you recognized her as a girl in lunaâs class, the girl your friend absolutely despised, which in turn made you despise her. emi.Â
you could see satoruâs eyes blink open just the slightest bit, your voice like a siren bringing him to life. fuck, he craved to hear you, to feel you always.Â
his entire face softened, a lopsided smile painting his face like sunlight breaking through clouds.Â
âhey, trouble..âÂ
the word sleft him slurred and your heart betrayed you instantly.Â
emi, however, looked significantly less pleased, her long nails tracing over satoruâs jaw as he flinched lowly.Â
âcan i help you?âÂ
you barely spared her a glance, taking one more step closer, âsatoru?âÂ
his eyes remained fixed on you, completely and entirely like everyone else had ceased to exist.Â
âyeah, baby?âÂ
you allowed the nickname to slide off your back, knowing he was too out of it to be aware of his actions or words. clearly.Â
âcâmon, letâs go.âÂ
emi instantly frowned, turning to look at satoru who looked up at you as if you promised him the moon, stars and everything in between.Â
âgo where?âÂ
âupstairs.â
a slow grin stretched across his face, the absolute stupidest but prettiest grin youâd ever seen, âokay.âÂ
he stood immediately, stumbling just the slightest bit as emi yelped, tumbling off his lap to the ground.Â
you caught his arm before he could faceplant into the coffee table, âfor fuckâs sake.â
satoru was now pressed aginst you, clammy hands cupping your cheeks to force you to look up at him, âhi...â
your eyes narrowed at his wide and hazy grin, âyou already said hi.â
satoru merely grinned, leaning down so his nose brushed against yours, once, twice before you sighed and pushed him just a bit back.Â
âletâs go, satoruâŚâ you held his hand, turning to pull him away before you felt a tug on your other arm causing you to turn around.Â
emi stood before you, visibly fuming as she glared at you, âwhat the fuck are you doing?! we were in the middle of something!âÂ
you glanced down at where sheâs touched you with a look of pure disgust before looking back up at her, âthatâs not how it looked to me.âÂ
emiâs fists clenched, âyou donât own him, you bitch!âÂ
your tongue pressed against your cheek before smirking at her, leaning back to look up at satoru who was already gazing down at you with a lopsided smile, âwho owns you, satoru?âÂ
âyou do, trouble.â his response was immediate, instantaneous and you had to ignore the rush going through you to shoot her a glare.Â
emi faltered, tears filling her eyes as she glared at you both.Â
you tugged at satoruâs hand, making a move towards the staircase before turning to her once more, âand donât put your hands on people who can barely stand, you sick freak.âÂ
you shot her one more glare before guiding satoru away, helping him towards his room as he followed with no argument, his hand somehow finding the back of your âdressâ and remained there as you climbed up the stairs.Â
as if he was afraid youâd disappear.Â
the walk to his room took forever, mostly because satoru kept getting distracted by paintings, doors, absolutely nothing.Â
at one point, he stopped in the hallway entirely as you sighed, turning to look up at him, âwhat is it now, satoru?âÂ
his blue eyes blinked down at you, âyouâre so pretty, it makes me nauseous sometimes.âÂ
a sigh left your plush lips as you tugged at his hand once more, âmhmm.âÂ
you forced his steps, one after the other before you made it to his room, guuiding him inside.Â
you expected him to collapse instantly, however, he sat on the edge of the bed and simply looked at you, eyes all droopy and bloodshot.Â
the room felt strangely quiet compared to the chaos downstairs, the silence stretched and his gaze never moved away from you.Â
it made something uncomfortable settle beneath your ribs as you shifted, âwhat?âÂ
satoru smiled, small and sleepy and dangerously genuine, âi like that you showed up.âÂ
your breath caught and his eyes were already drifting shut, half-asleep and entirely unaware of what he was saying, âi always know when youâre about to leave.âÂ
the confession landed softly, somewhere right in your chest.Â
âyou do this thing,â his hand moved vaguely, âwith your phoneâŚâ
you froze because you did, absolutely. you always checked the time before getting up from his bed. every single time.Â
âi know when youâre annoyed tooâŚâ his voice was quieter now, the fight gone as well as the frustration until only honesty remained, âyou scrunch your nose all cute likeâŚâÂ
you hated that you knew exactly what he meant, your hands clenching beside you.
âand you pretend you donât care about stuffâŚpeopleâŚbut you do.âÂ
the room suddenly felt too small, too warm and too fucking claustrophobic.Â
you let out a short breath, âokay, time to go to bed, satoru.â
you moved forward, helping take off his shoes before ushering him forward till he was beneath his blankets, head heavy against the pillow.Â
you couldnât help but move your fingers into his white locks, brushing it away from his sweaty face before sighing gently and moving back.Â
âstay.âÂ
the word left him soft and simple, nothing dramatic or grand about it.Â
it was simply one exhausted request.Â
and it caused every instinct youâve ever had to scream at you to run.Â
youâre a runner.Â
your eyes drifted toward the boy, hair messy and eyes heavy, heart somehow worn openly across his sleeve in a way that was braver than you ever could be.Â
and for the first time since you met satoru gojo, you stayed.
âď¸
an | this is deffo my fav chapter so far i love them so bad AHHHHHH
nerd!satoru who yaps nonstop about the multiverse while youâre just trying to eat your lunch, waving his hands around dramatically as he explains the concept of alternate dimensions with half a rice ball in his mouth and crumbs stuck to the corner of his lips. who pokes at his food with a mechanical pencil because he forgot his chopsticks again, and then insists with wide eyes and a mouth half full, âtechnically, pencils are just wooden utensils for intellectuals.â he gets giddy over a new graphing calculator update like itâs a new iphone drop, tapping the screen like itâs a baby animal, and once dragged you into a 40-minute rant about ant communication hierarchies while you were just brushing your teeth, half-asleep and mouth foaming with toothpaste.
he has no less than ten tabs open at all timesâreddit conspiracy theories, physics forums, a paused youtube video on quantum tunneling, a spreadsheet titled âdo cats defy newtonâs laws?â, a google doc labeled âreasons why kissing might be a form of molecular alignment,â and none of it has anything to do with the assignment heâs supposed to be doing. he zones out during lectures, doodling black hole spirals, equations shaped like hearts, and cats in lab coats in the margins of his notes. once, he drew you holding hands with a worm in a bowtie and captioned it âme and my universe.â somehow still manages to get top marks every single time, even though he once turned in an assignment with a greasy fry stain in the corner because he used it as a napkin in the library mid-cram session.
he mutters the weirdest things under his breath like âi feel like a misaligned proton todayâ or âthe moonâs energy was too sarcastic last nightâ and you just blink at him likeđ§ââď¸while sipping your drink. he wears mismatched socks on purpose and says, âitâs a metaphor for duality.â has five alarms labeled âwake up genius,â âur gonna flunk,â âyour girlfriend will leave you,â âpls satoru,â and âEMERGENCY: CUTE, PRETTY AND SCORCHINGLY HOT GIRL WAITINGâ and still manages to sleep through all of them unless you call him. his glasses? perpetually smudged, held together with washi tape. his notebooks? an unholy fusion of complicated theorems, grocery lists, pressed flowers, cat doodles, love notes to you, and a page just titled âtop 10 reasons why my girlfriend is cuter than entropy.â
his laptop is a biohazardâdusty, overworked, full of files like âtime_is_an_illusion_final_FINAL_reallyfinal_actuallyfinal.pptxâ and âuRwrong_iMright.docx.â the case is covered in anime stickers, tiny equations, stars drawn with glitter pen, and a wrinkled polaroid of you sticking your tongue out that he keeps taped on like itâs a sacred relic. he listens to lo-fi while studying and pauses every few minutes just to sigh dreamily and whisper, âthis part sounds like you looking at me for the first time.â
and yet⌠heâs so fine itâs borderline illegal. tall, messy white hair that sticks up in all directions and defies every known force of nature, ice-blue eyes that melt when they look at you, and a cocky little smile that makes your chest hurt even when he says things like, âdo you think our cells are spiritually linked?â he doesnât even try to be charmingâhe just is, like he spawned with a flirt trait.
you fw it. you fw him. every unfiltered ramble, every hyperactive explanation about wormholes or why he thinks bees are secretly time travelers. the way his voice speeds up when heâs excited, and how his hands start waving like heâs conducting an invisible orchestra of nerdiness. you donât even bother trying to follow every wordâyouâre just watching him, heart doing somersaults, because heâs so beautiful when heâs passionate. and the fact that you never laugh at him? only ever smile and let him go on? yeah. that cracked his emotional firewall a long time ago.
so now heâs all sunshine and sparkles around you. a literal bundle of joy. grinning at his phone like a middle schooler when you text him âlol ok.â kicking his feet while giggling, voice memos full of stuff like âwhat if we held hands inside a particle accelerator đłđđâ sent at 2:13 a.m., followed by three minutes of him wheezing into a pillow. he calls you his âfavorite constant,â even if you donât get the joke. and if you do? he twirls his hair, blushes, and stares at you like you just split the atom and made it cute.
he makes playlists named âgravity got nothing on how hard i fell for you,â draws you in lab coats saying âur the thesis to my hypothesis,â keeps your photo in his pencil case and shows it to random people like âthis is my girlfriend. she understands my quantum jokes.â if they blink weirdly, heâll just smile and say, âitâs okay, not everyone gets theoretical perfection.â
being loved by you makes him goo. makes his neurons do the macarena. you make all his bizarre little pieces light up like neon signs. you walked into his strange little world and said âyeah, iâll stay,â and now heâs rearranging every cosmic thread to make sure itâs perfect for you. adds fairy lights. labels his notebooks âour theories.â buys matching pens. you made his chaos feel like a cozy little planet. he buys you plushies shaped like atoms and puts your name in the acknowledgements of his lab reports. tells people âsheâs the reason the data graphs came out prettier.â
nerd!satoru whoâs helplessly, hopelessly, tooth-rottingly in love with you. who grabs your hand mid-ramble just to feel you close. who brings you hot cocoa and explains entropy like itâs a bedtime story. who kisses your forehead and tells you âyouâre my favorite anomaly in this whole universe.â
and he thanks youânot in grand declarations, but in the quiet moments: when he scoots closer to you without saying a word, when he tugs on your sleeve with glassy eyes after a long day, when he looks at you after an hour of nerding out like you built the whole galaxy just to hear him talk.
his world was spinning way too fast. then you walked in and gave it gravity. and now he orbits youâand heâs never been happier to revolve around anything in his life.

satoru gojo is a cuddler. itâs just in his nature. he always has infinity on, so heâs not used to being touched all the time. youâre the only one he lets touch him, and he takes full advantage of that.
whether youâre in the living room watching a movie or youâre cooking something in the kitchenâsatoru is attached to you. his arms wrapping around your waist, pressing himself right up against your back.
his hands are always on you. honestly, his body was touching yours more often than not. look, he loves you, okay? just let him be around you 24/7, and everything is fine!
he loves the mornings especially. when youâre both all warm and soft, cozied up against one another. satoru loved it. he loved the peace and the safety he felt. he never thought he would need someone this badly.
he loved putting his feet on your legs. youâre always so warm, and heâs always cold. even through your sleepy protests, he only grins, pressing even closer.
also you better not try to sleep with clothes on. at a certain point in your relationship, satoru kinda just started stripping at night. when the sun starts setting his shirt is coming off.
he trusts you. he loves you. he sees no reason to be ashamed. he works out all the time, staying in shape like this just for you. why would he not show it off?
one night, you had got home pretty late, having had missions the entire day. when you got home, satoru was sprawled out on the bed, in nothing but a pair of boxers.
the second you went through your bedroom door, his head is lifting up, like a dog waiting for its master to come home. he immediately scrambles to see you, arms wrapping around your waist, face pressing into your neck.
he hadnât seen you all day. it would take hours and hours of cuddling to make up, maybe some kissing too. his hands start sliding up your shirt, fingers mapping out your body, getting refamiliarized after so long apart (8 hours).
âbabyy..â
he drags out, inhaling against your neck, acting like heâs starved for your scent alone.
âI missed you. youâve been gone for so long. come cuddle me.â
he instantly starts bombarding you, all needy and wanting after you were gone.
he slides his hands up further, thumbs hooking at the fabric of your shirt, trying to push it up and over your head.
âsatoru, hold on. I just got home. let me take a shower at least.â
he only shakes his head, pulling back with a pout on his lips. you already knew what he was about to do.
âwhy? do you hate me? you donât need to take a shower.. I love you the way you are.â
he whines, pressing himself flush against you, your shirt halfway up your torso, satoruâs hands not stopping their insistence.
âsatoru. you know I donât-â
his bottom lip starts trembling, his big blue eyes looking even more adorable than usual.
âŚfuck.
thankfully you did manage to get a shower, though you had a clingy, blue eyed baby wrapped around you the whole time. you had to bat his hands away several times, earning a couple frustrated noises.
you didnât end up leaving your bed until 2pm the next day. satoru clung to you all night and all morning.
the two of you slept naked, of course, because why would he go through all that trouble of washing you (washing your back) and getting you all clean and nice just for you to put clothes on?
and donât think the touching only happens in private, even in public satoru canât keep his hands away.
anytime you two are in the same room, heâs right next to you. youâre sitting at his desk? heâs sitting right there next to you, preferably sitting in your lap.
you need to go to the bathroom? heâll go with you! you want his company, right? of course you do, donât worry, heâll go everywhere you go.
please donât try to deny him. heâll think he did something to upset you, or you donât want him touching you at all.
one day you had got a bit frustrated with him, having been putting up with his silly antics all day. it had been a long day, you were tired and ready to go home.
you had been doing mission reports in your office for the past four hours now. satoru had stayed so you wouldnât be lonely.
you thought it would be nice at first, having the love of your life with you, just a peaceful afternoon with the two of you. you knew he wasnât gonna help with the papers, but it was the thought that counts.
instead, satoru kept trying to climb into your space, wanting to touch you and hug you. he kept trying to kiss you or feed you the several snacks he got from the vending machine. you loved the man, but he could be a lot sometimes.
you had snapped at him while he was trying to feed you some mochi he bought, an arm slung around your shoulder as he yapped on about how good it was.
he tried pressing it against your lips multiple times, eventually earning a rejection. his arm snakes away, instead sitting at his side. he scoots a bit away, giving you the space you wanted.
for the rest of the night, he sits there quietly, not even messing with the rest of the food he bought. he simply watches you, an unreadable expression on his face.
by the time you get home, he still doesnât budge. you both go about your nightly routine, heading to bed. satoru only curls up into a ball, laying on the very far end of the bed.
âsatoruâŚâ
you start, dragging a hand down your face. you didnât mean to get mad at him. you would never want to upset him on purpose.
youâre only met with silence, no word from him other than soft breathing. you scoot over, wrapping an around around his waist, pressing your chest against his back, chin resting over his shoulder.
âbabeâŚâ
âŚ
âtoru..?â
a quiet noise of acknowledgement escapes him, barely audible, but you caught it.
âIâm sorry about getting mad at you earlier. I was just trying to get my reports done.â
he shrugs weakly.
you press a soft kiss to the back of his neck, his shoulders relaxing just a smudge.
âyou know I love you, satoru.â
after a beat of silence he hums, nodding slightly.
ââŚI know.â
âI wasnât actually mad. I was just busy.â
he nods again, slowly, shifting until he turns in your arms, burying his face in your face and curling around you, his legs intertwining with yours.
âokay.â
he murmurs, relaxing against you, seemingly all better now that youâre holding him.
by the time morning rolled around, he was all happy and smiles again, being all sleepy and touchy as usual.
even when youâre doing something as casual as brushing your teeth, satoru is there.
when youâre looking for something to eat in the fridge, satoruâs arms are wrapped around you, pressing soft kisses to your neck.
even in the car, heâs watching you in the passenger seat, or if heâs driving, a hand on your thigh.
safe to say he loves you. more than anything. he loves being with you and he adores touching you. he loved any sort of physical contact with you. honestly, he just loves anything to do with you.
make sure to hug him and kiss him before you leave.

characters: popular cosplayer!geto x obsessed assistant!reader x nerdy roommate!gojo
very inspired by @indiewritesxoxo's Patreon works + characterisation of our beloved jjk men (my first & short attempt at a messy triangle!)
Synopsis: After stumbling into what you deem as the hottest male specimen alive in a convention, you spiralled into a desperate parasocial relationship with Geto Suguru. Your efforts to be noticed paid off, and you landed yourself the unpaid gig of his event assistant and occasional stress relief. Being with him on his terms still meant that you were with him. What if his nerdy roommate promises an even better deal though?
tags: mild angst, unrequited love, situationship, vague piv smut, fluff, awkward gojo, religious imagery, reader with low self esteem :(
Word Count: 3k
Cosplayer!Geto soon realised what a goldmine monetising his interests could be when he factored in his physique and honeyed voice, quickly grasping how heâd cornered a niche market when he found out how easy it was to hop from a nerd to a viral thirst trap sensation overnight.
God, it was actually laughable how easy it was to rack up followers and to be hired for events when he had only just started taking this whole cosplay nonsense seriously 6 months ago.Â
All the animes and games he and his buddies were teased ruthlessly for liking in school suddenly made him rich, the stream of gigs and attention never ceasing.
In your defense, you hadnât planned on becoming obsessed â turning on notifications for every single image he posted, keeping an eye on any event heâd be boothing at.
You met him at his first proper event, when he was still a fairly new cosplayer with a loyal fanbase that was steadily growing.Â
You werenât even supposed to show up for that event, until your friend offered you an extra ticket that would have otherwise been wasted.
It also wasnât your fault how he would sign your name with a silver heart, making sure to run his thumb over your hand when he handed you the signed instant photo you paid way too much for.
He added a comma after dearest.
Could you blame a girl?Â
You knew you werenât the prettiest, or the hottest, or the cleverest, or the richest.Â
But at least you had him.
One event soon turned into five, and then ten, and youâd sooner part with all the money you had in your account than miss one of his appearances.
Of course, as he catapulted to fame, so did his prices.
It was all worth it when his eyes seemed to pick you out from the sea of fans each time.Â
His eyes.Â
Youâd recognise them anywhere â no matter what coloured contacts heâd put on.
Commenting on his reels and makeup tutorials wasnât enough anymore.
You sent message after message, eagerly soaking in any ounce of attention he was willing to toss your way.
There was something magnetic about him. You relished every bit of his affection, lapping it up and devouring whatever he fed you.Â
When he decided to offer premium subscriber content, you whipped out your card without a moment of hesitation.
Who cares if your bank account was dipping dangerously close to the negatives? You could always pick up more shifts at work.
Loyalty was always one of your best traits.
And that was how you found yourself perched meekly by his side at events, holding up a payment code for other girls to get the same treatment you craved.Â
Thee Geto Suguruâs personal assistant.
Sure it was unpaid, but your new role meant that you could stare unabashedly at him in person now instead of through a screen, brushing a hand against his as you desperately tried to corral the burning flush in your cheeks.
The downside was having to see what his job entailed â intimate poses, sweet nothings in the ear, his warm hand cupping anotherâs cheek.Â
The first few events had bile rising in your throat, words lodged painfully as you struggled to tamp your jealousy, your envy, your revolting hatred for these other women.
But at least you were the one by his side, right?
Exposure therapy after a few events definitely helped with that intense knee-jerk reaction, and you soon talked yourself into some degree of begrudging tolerance.Â
After all, Suguru let you see a side of him that no one else did.Â
You were his favourite, just like how he was yours. Â
After helping to pack up his booth, he would present you a lone flower, pulled simply from the large bouquet he had received from the event organisers.
For being his pretty little assistant, he always whispered, before pressing you against the wall of a grimy alley near his car.
When the two of you were out of earshot of anyone else, heâd peel your skirt away, hoisting you up to guide your legs around his waist.
The rough brick dug into your skin, but the feel of him was all-encompassing and everything else faded away.
He often made the world feel so⌠unimportant.Â
He was the sun.
SuguruSuguruSuguruSuguruSuguru
You worshipped devoutly and chanted his name like a prayer.
Faithful to a fault, and sweetly understanding when he took hours or even days to reply.
After he chased his high and ensured you got yours with quick, relentless rolls of his thick fingers, he pulled himself out.
But what happens when the sun goes out?
The resultant crater of missing him was deathly cold; the sticky aftermath of your joint fumble in the dark trickling down your core and trembling tights.
Cupping your face, Geto murmured faint praises while adjusting your clothes, promising to get you a ride home.
Heâd never drive you himself though, and you never asked.Â
You were just so damn happy you got to touch him, even if your caress never saw the light of day.
You fucking loved him.
As painful as it was to be a shameful secret, a vile little lie, you soon convinced yourself to be content.
It was a miracle a man like Geto Suguru even looked your way.
Of course, you didnât expect his roommate to challenge the tenet of your religion the first time you met him.
When you arrived at his door, you sent him a quick message like you typically did, not wanting to ring the bell and risk bothering anyone else.Â
Instead of having to wait a few minutes, the door opened impossibly fast, and you found yourself in front of a towering man with tousled white hair and impossibly thick frames clutching a trash bag.Â
Itâs only after you remembered to close your gaping mouth that you looked down and a giggle escaped you.
The man was decked out in fluffy pink Koromon slippers and Koromon-printed boxes that contrasted his plain white sleep shirt which draped over his large, lean frame.
This tall stranger froze, seemingly unaccustomed to visitors and naturally, being seen in his pyjamas.Â
It was only until your soft voice broke some of the tension that he visibly relaxed.
âI⌠I like your slippers. I really wanted to get them before they sold out.â
There was something to be said about how you managed to sound completely sincere and heartfelt to Gojo in that moment.Â
As if he were a sleeper agent, his bright azure eyes lit up and his lips twitched upwards.
Unbeknownst to you, Gojoâs embarrassment paled in comparison to his desire to ramble on about his favourite nerdy interests.
After all, lurking on forums is one thing â but actually having the chance to share about his interests to a pretty girl who didnât have the look of scorn in her eyes? He wasnât that big of an idiot to let you slip away.
âDonât even get me started about the scalpers! I had to run to five stores before I could get that limited edition pack.â The man before you ranted, unexpectedly enthused to be in his sleep attire in front of a stranger.Â
You blinked comically like an owl, trying to process what was happening.Â
To an outsider, the encounter might seem to be brimming with awkwardness and tension, but you soon found his dorky childlike glee endearing.
When was the last time you wore your heart on your sleeve like that?Â
Especially now with Suguru, you constantly had to plaster on a veneer of nonchalance and calm that belied your love and passion.Â
It was nice to finally put down that wall, even if it was just temporary.Â
The reminder that you were still supposed to meet Suguru and help him for an upcoming event didnât slip your mind though, and soon you gently cut Gojo off with a small smile.
âYou must be Suguruâs roommate. Um, Iâm here to help with his event. Is he here?â
Instantly, his brows furrowed and his face fell.
âOh! Iâm Gojo. Yeah, Iâve heard of you. But uh, he didnât tell me he was expecting you this morning. Iâll let him know â just, just come on in and sit.â
After ushering you in and gesturing for you to make yourself comfortable on the couch in the living room, Gojo slipped towards the cluster of bedroom doors.
He didnât have to make it far when it was painfully clear why Geto wasnât greeting you at the door like he typically did when he requested your help.
Breathy moans and muffled whines emanated from a closed door, causing Gojo to freeze the second time that morning.Â
The blood in your body turned to ice and you stiffened instinctively.Â
You tried not to notice when Gojo cast you surreptitious glances, his panic and uncertainty growing. His raised fist paused midway, and he stopped himself from rapping on the wooden door.
What followed next didnât help one bit.Â
The telltale slam of a headboard, and smacks of skin only confirmed what you tried your hardest to deny.Â
You werenât even a bedwarmer for the man.Â
You were reserved for alleyway fucks and dark corners.Â
You werenât even a shameful secret for him to hide.Â
You werenât anything.
For someone lacking that much in the self esteem department, you surprisingly managed to hold onto the resolution not to shed any tears in front of Gojo with an iron grip.
Leaping to your feet, you grabbed your purse from the couch and headed straight for the door. The pain from biting your lip impossibly hard was nothing compared to the sheer agony of how everything in your heart basically imploded on itself though.Â
âHeyâ hold up! Wait! Just a secââ
You couldnât stop. You didnât want to see the look of pity on Gojoâs face. It must have been painfully clear that you were in love with his asshole of a roommate.Â
Any regard for consideration went out the window and you barrelled through the door like a storm, slamming it shut in your wake.
As you scrambled down the stairs, you focused on breathing in and exhaling, reminding yourself to just run.Â
Run.
One step at a time.Â
Run.
It was only when you finally left the apartment complex and turned a corner near a convenience store that you stopped to catch your breath, shaking from the exertion and adrenaline.
What does one do when one loses faith?Â
What other deity takes its place?
Youâve spent so much of your time and love on Suguru; you didnât know who you were without being his follower.Â
A sobering splash of ice cold water seemed to jolt you back to reality. The actual reality of who you were before you let yourself orbit around Geto.
Shaking now from indignation and determination, you dug out your phone from your purse to block Geto everywhere.
âIâm sorry.â
A hushed whisper coming from behind you made you spin around in alarm, nearly losing your balance from the whiplash.
A firm hand grabbed you by the arm, stabilising you before enveloping you into a crushing hug.
âHeâs a dick. I knew you liked him.â
Gojo.Â
Being anchored against his chest began to chip away at your resolve alarmingly fast.
In that moment, being ensconced in his warm embrace â you couldnât help the shuddering wave of tears and the racking sobs.Â
Is this how it would have felt if Geto actually liked you?Â
As the tears subsided, you belatedly realised that Gojo had been patting your head, his hand moving up and down almost mechanically, as if he were afraid of fracturing you further.
His white shirt now soaked, you pulled back from his embrace, taking him in whilst pawing at your puffy face clumsily to wipe away the remnants of your grief.
The silence seemed to drag on as your gaze hovered at the splotches on Gojoâs shirt, before lowering to the familiar pink fluffy monstrosity that was Koromon on his feet.
A frenzied peal of laughter filled the air when you realised that this man chased you down a street in pink fuzzy slippers and his cartoon-printed boxers.
Wordlessly, you leaned forward, letting Gojo rest his chin on the top of your head.
In that corner street, the two of you silently soaked in the sun, your heartbeat slowing to match his in tandem.Â
For once, you didnât really care about anyone else but yourself.Â
Once upon a time, radio silence would have stung â for an entire week, Geto didnât try to apologise or explain, much less reach out.Â
Even if you had blocked his contact, you knew he had other ways of finding you.
Perhaps a small part of you did leave him open avenues, so he could slink back into your life.
The parts of your life that used to be filled with Geto were suddenly replaced with movie marathons with Satoru, who mumbled that heâd like your number after dropping you at home that day.
Instead of fluorescent convention lights and practising awkward smiles, your life was now filled with Digimon reruns and game nights.
A heaping bowl of sweet caramel popcorn sat in between the two of you as Gojo reached in by the handfuls.Â
Being with Gojo⌠was easy.Â
âBy the way, that voice actorââÂ
âThe new Tamagotchi drop isââÂ
âI got a new board game. Wanna play?âÂ
Suguru snagged your attention effortlessly, but you always had to try to become someone else with him. You had to work so hard to transform into someone you thought deserved his affection.Â
While he demanded so much from you, Gojo just gave.
After your melt down, you never thought youâd be crying in front of Satoru again so soon.Â
But the man just loved to prove you wrong.Â
When he came over on a random Tuesday, armed with a simple cardboard box, he simply thrust it in your arms with an expectant look.
With your brow furrowed in confusion, you tore through layers of delicate tissue paper only to reveal a pair of pink fuzzy Koromon slippers in your size.
âH-how did you⌠Itâs sold out everywhere!â you gasped, astonished and touched.
With a twinkle in his eye, Gojo dramatically put a finger to his lips and winked. âI have my ways. A magician never reveals.â
âSatoru! You didnât have to!â
âWell, duh.â He rolled his eyes good naturedly. âI got it for you because I wanted to.â
You suppose you should have seen it coming. After months of never being seen, Gojoâs words hit hard, and for the second time in the short duration of knowing Satoru, you burst into tears.
âThank you.â
I think Iâm too lame for Suguru now, Gojo admits in the dark one day, the side profile of his face lit up by the incandescent television.
The vulnerable statement hangs in the air, as Satoru goes on to mumble about Geto going to clubs and events, partying and drinking, never wanting to game or watch the shows they used to watch together.
âHeâs, like, got his own cult or something,â Gojo scoffs, miffed at losing his best friend.Â
Of course, it was unspoken -â that you used to be a member of his cult.
But you set aside the sour feeling, and focused on the man on the couch next to you. Belying his haughty tone, you detected a faint note of genuine sadness and shame.
Geto moved on to bigger, better things while he stayed a loser. A nerd. A dork. All the labels everyone used to slap on him before pointing and laughing.Â
You knew what that was like.Â
Placing a hand over his, you rubbed your thumb comfortingly.
It was your turn to be strong for Gojo.
Maybe it was the cheap beer, or the indulgent sweets.
Or the fact that you were two people who could understand and wallow in the same pain of loving someone who didnât love you back the way you needed him to.
Under the cover of darkness, you were struck by an indescribable urge to kiss him.
To comfort him? Perhaps. You certainly didnât relish in his sorrow, not when Satoru had been such a sweet and earnest friend. You wanted to make him feel better.Â
But you couldnât admit for the longest time, until now that is, that it was mostly out of a desire to finally do something on your own terms, to finally be true to yourself without holding back.Â
And you wanted him.
âSatoru,â you began in a whisper. âIâm sorry.â
With a quirk of your lips, you murmured gently, âI knew you liked him. Heâs a dick.â The familiar echo of the words he once said to you just felt right in that moment. Suppressing the urge to giggle, you tried to widen your doe eyes in faux sympathy, hoping to cheer him up.
That did it. Gojo burst into a sharp peal of laughter, caught off guard by your wittiness and ability to find humour in even the strangest and gravest of situations.Â
âAt least I met you,â he admitted honestly.Â
You were glad you met him too. He wasnât as suave as Geto, but his bluntness and piercing blue eyes always remained honest.Â
Just as he saw you, you were finally brave enough to see Gojo Satoru for who he was. Not Suguruâs roommate, or some nerdy guy trying to pick you up.
He was a friend.Â
A lonely soul who commiserated.Â
A good man who tries, and fails, and tries again.Â
A strong man.
A man you loved, not a god you worshipped blindly. A man who loved you back.
âMove in with me,â you whispered.Â
The low volume belied your quiet conviction.
âAlright,â Satoru murmured in response, holding your gaze intently. âIâll make pancakes every morning.â
âPromise?â
âPromise.â

You weren't exactly sure when it had become a habit.
Somewhere between one night and the next, walking the halls with Satoru had simply become part of your routine.
Almost every night, it was the same.
The two of you would wander the corridors while he talked about whatever happened to cross his mind. Calling it a "conversation" might've been generous, though. Satoru never stopped talking, jumping from one topic to another every couple of minutes, while you simply walked beside him, answering with the occasional nod or absentminded hum.
You didn't mind.
Actually... you liked it.
It was strange to think about how much he'd changed.
You still remembered the first-year Satoru perfectly: quiet, socially awkward, visibly uncomfortable around anyone. Comparing that version of him to the one walking beside you now almost felt impossible. It was hard to believe they were the same person.
As time passed, and he grew closer to you, Suguru, and Shoko, he slowly came out of his shell. He became more spontaneous, more talkative...
Ridiculously more talkative.
And even though there were times when he managed to be the most annoying person on the planet, you liked the change.
It meant he felt comfortable.
"...Which is exactly why WarGreymon is way cooler than MetalGarurumon."
Was he talking about Digimon now?
You honestly weren't even sure anymore.
You kept walking beside him in silence, automatically agreeing with everything he said despite barely following the conversation.
It wasn't because you didn't want to pay attention.
It was because you simply couldn't.
Your eyes kept drifting back to him.
You'd always thought Satoru was handsome.
That was something you'd admitted to yourself a long time ago. You'd also reluctantly accepted that you had a bit of a crush on him.
A bit.
That was the lie you kept telling yourself.
Because you'd never have the courage to admit it out loud.
His ego was already big enough.
It didn't need any more fuel.
Even after all this time, Satoru was still a mystery.
Most days, he was exactly who everyone thought he was: loud, dramatic, over-the-top, constantly cracking jokes and somehow finding a way to turn every situation into a game.
He was insufferable.
Endearingly, infuriatingly insufferable.
But every now and then, there were momentsâ
Moments when all that energy vanished as though someone had flipped a switch.
He'd go quiet.
Thoughtful.
Far away.
It happened so quickly that almost no one noticed. A moment later he'd smile again, crack another stupid joke, and act like nothing had happened.
But you noticed.
You always noticed.
Everyone needed time alone every once in a while. You understood that.
But with Satoru...
It felt different.
There was something heavy about those silences. As if the weight of the entire world rested on his shoulders.
And, in a way...
It did.
Maybe it was because Satoru had always been alone.
Near the end of your first year, he'd confessed to you, Suguru, and Shoko that you were the first real friends he'd ever had.
You'd never forgotten that conversation.
At the time, you'd simply smiled, but your chest had tightened in a way you couldn't explain.
It was hard to imagine someone like Satoru growing up without friends.
Even harder to imagine what his life had been like before entering Jujutsu High.
You didn't know much about the Gojo Clan. It was never something he liked talking about.
But you knew enough.
You knew he'd been raised almost completely isolated from the rest of the world.
You knew that because he'd inherited both the Six Eyes and the Limitless, he'd been treated less like a child and more like a priceless weapon.
And you knew that not even his own parents had truly been allowed to raise him.
Not because they didn't want toâ
But because they were considered too weak to care for the child destined to inherit the strongest technique in the jujutsu world.
You pushed those thoughts away and looked at him again.
Satoru was wearing a ridiculous Digimon T-shirt and gray sweatpants. His hair was even messier than usual, and he had on his signature sunglasses.
He looked completely disheveled.
And somehow, effortlessly beautiful anyway.
You couldn't help envying how little he had to try.
You didn't realize you'd been staring until Satoru waved a hand in front of your face.
"Hello? Anyone here?"
You blinked.
"Huh?"
One eyebrow rose above his sunglasses.
"Did you hear anything I said in the last... I dunno... ten minutes?"
"Of course I did."
The lie came automatically.
"Oh yeah?"
He crossed his arms, clearly amused.
"Then tell me. What was I talking about?"
Your brain short-circuited.
You desperately searched for any memory of the conversation, digging through the last several minutes like you were looking for a needle in a haystack.
"...Digimon?"
It was the only answer you could think of. He was always talking about Digimon.
There was, what, a 67% chance you were right?
A smug smile tugged at the corner of his lips.
"Right..." he said, pausing dramatically.
"So which Digimon?"
Silence.
You stared down the hallway as if the walls themselves might answer for you.
Nothing.
When you looked back at him, he was pouting dramatically, like a little kid who'd just been told they couldn't have dessert.
"I knew it!" he complained, pointing an accusing finger at you. "You weren't listening to me!"
"I was!"
"No, you weren't."
"Yes, I was."
"Nope."
You sighed.
"...Okay, maybe just a little."
"A little?" He clutched his chest like you'd stabbed him. "You ignored my brilliant Digimon analysis."
"'Brilliant' is a pretty strong word."
"It was a masterpiece."
You laughed softly, and he narrowed his eyes behind his sunglasses.
"So..." His expression turned curious.
"If you weren't listening... what were you thinking about?"
You looked away almost immediately.
"Oh... nothing."
"Liar. Nobody thinks about nothing."
"Sure they do."
"No, they don't."
"I was just thinking."
"About what?"
"Just... random stuff."
You sighed.
It wasn't a complete lie.
But it wasn't the truth, either.
He was quiet for a few seconds.
Then a slow, knowing grin spread across his face.
"Ah..."
He tilted his head.
"I get it."
Your stomach flipped.
"...Get what?"
"You were admiring how handsome I am."
You froze.
Heat rushed to your face so fast it was almost painful. Without thinking, you turned your head away, trying to hide your burning cheeks.
Seriously...?
Could he read minds?
"You really think highly of yourself," you muttered, pretending not to notice how hot your face had become.
"Heeeyyy," he sing-songed your name, making you let out a tired sigh before turning back to him.
The moment you did, your eyes widened.
He was close.
Way too close.
You could feel his breath against your skin, and for a second your brain completely stopped working.
"Whaâ?"
Before you could finish, that infuriatingly smug grin appeared again.
"You know," he said, "I don't even blame you for admiring me. I know I'm amazing."
You frowned.
"I'm charming, handsome, good at everything I do, tall, and I have a flawless personality..."
You raised an eyebrow at that last one.
He pretended not to notice.
"I'm smart, rich, and ridiculously strong! Come to think of it..." He nodded thoughtfully. "I'd date me too. I mean, just look at me. I'm perfect."
And he kept going.
One compliment after another rolled off his tongue as naturally as breathing, completely enamored with his own existence.
You tried interrupting him.
More than once.
None of it worked.
Your frustration kept growing, along with the overwhelming urge to make him shut upâ
Even if it was only for five seconds.
And before you could think better of it, you grabbed the front of his shirt and kissed him.
His words died instantly.
For one brief second, Satoru's eyes went wide in unmistakable surprise.
Then, slowly, he closed them and kissed you back.
Your heart pounded wildly.
Your stomach fluttered with butterflies, and you hated realizing just how soft his lips were.
When the need for air finally forced you apart, you stepped back.
That's when you noticed.
Satoru's face was completely red.
"...You talk too much," you murmured, still trying to catch your breath.
He didn't answer. He just stared at you, frozen, eyes wide and lips slightly parted.
Silence.
Weird.
Very weird.
Satoru Gojo always had something to say.
Anxiety tightened in your chest.
Had you ruined everything?
"I'm sorry... I didn't mean to..."
You stumbled over your words, unable to meet his eyes as embarrassment spread across your face.
"You know..."
He finally spoke.
The blush had mostly faded from his face, though the tips of his ears were still adorably pink.
"I think I could get used to that."
You blinked.
He smiledâthat same cocky grin you knew so well.
"If you kiss me every time you want me to shut up..." His smile softened just a little. "...I don't think I'll ever stop talking around you."
You looked at his still-red ears and couldn't hold back your smile.
"You're an idiot."
"Hey!" He put a hand over his chest, feigning offense. "That was mean."
You rolled your eyes, laughing quietly.
"But..." Your voice came out softer this time. "I like you when you're being kind of an idiot."
The moment the words left your mouth, you looked away again, feeling your cheeks warm all over.
For a few seconds, neither of you said anything.
Then Satoru smiled.
A smile so genuine it felt like it lit up the entire hallway.

One week later, at almost the exact same time, Sato walked through the library doors. You had all but forgotten the exchange, having been absorbed in a shipment issue for an anticipated arrival of valuable books. Most of your previous week had been spent on tense phone calls as you all but yelled at the shipping companyâs customer service team for almost losing the precious package. An unforgivable offense.
Even though you knew it wasnât the poor manâs fault on the other end of the phone, you couldnât help but lose your cool a few times when he offered vague platitudes and explanations that did not really explain much at all. The injustice of it consumed your week, and little else captured your attention.
In fact, when the door alarm chimed in a familiar manner, you didnât even look up from your desk. You were absorbed in a current internet search on how to infiltrate a shipping company from the inside to stage a coup when you heard it. An agitating, grating voice that was far too loud in the library. One that you had blissfully forgotten existed until this moment.
âBut soft! What light through yonder window breaks? It is the East, and Juliet is the sun.â
Immediately, you knew who that voice belonged to and your shoulders bunched up towards your ears in irritation. It was Sato. And he seemed just as determined to irritate you as he had the first time you had met.
Looking up, you saw that he was in similar attire to the previous week; a large black hoodie, baseball cap that covered most of his strangely white hair, round sunglasses, and expensive looking jeans. One of his arms was resting on his heart with the borrowed book (thankfully in its protective bag), while the other was shot out towards you in a dramatic fashion. A forlorn expression crossed his delicate features that looked rather convincing despite the clear dramatics.
Instead of answering, you sighed. Which was apparently enough of a response for him to continue his rendition.
âArise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon, who is already sick and pale with grief that thou, her maid, art far more fair than she,â Sato recited as if he was actually in a live theatrical production on stage, âIt is my lady. O, it is my love!â His head tilted back and he closed his eyes as if he was in emotional agony.
It was evident that if you did not respond and redirect him, he was just going to continue and potentially recite the entire play. Trying your best to relax yourself, you straightened your back and looked at the book cradled against his bosom. Upon first glance, it appeared in good condition, which made you more receptive to being as polite as you could muster despite your growing impatience.
âI take it you enjoyed your rental?â You asked, crossing your arms over your chest. His face fell into a displeased frown and he side-eyed you from underneath his lashes.Â
âNo, Juliet, youâre supposed to say the line,â he stage-whispered, âO Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?â
âIâm not saying that,â you rolled your eyes, âBesides, you didnât even quote it correctly.â He had left out large parts of the sonnet, which was somewhat offensive to your knowledge of Shakespeare and integrity as a literature buff.
âSo if I quote the entire thing, then youâll say it?â Sato brightened, already reaching for the book as if he intended to open it and do just that.
âAbsolutely not,â you said in an unamused tone, holding out your hand, âIâll take that.â
âDamn, I practiced all week,â Sato said with a chuckle, undeterred by your unabashed hostility. Though, you had to say, you were being quite reserved by your normal standards for even the likes of Sato.
âThat took you all week?â You raised an eyebrow as he handed over the book.
Instead of balking or becoming offended, Sato merely laughed again. His continued jovial responses made you wonder where on earth he got all his energy from. It also made you wonder why he couldnât be deterred or dissuaded. Perhaps it was some sort of game to him. You speculated he found himself to be very amusing and that he simply assumed everyone else did, too. Ego driven, for sure.
To your surprise, the book was in the same pristine condition as it had been when you had first rented it to Sato. You inspected it far more carefully than you normally did, much to his continued entertainment as he watched you from in front of the counter. Once you were satisfied, you checked the book back in and proceeded to ignore the fact that he was in front of you.Â
Of course, that would not do for Sato. It was like it was his sole mission in life to annoy the living daylights out of you. Or that he was physically incapable of not talking for more than two minutes at a time. Silence was apparently his kryptonite.
âWhat are you working on?â he asked, unabashed curiosity painting his features. He even peered over your desk until the brim of his hat nearly skimmed your monitors, a violation of which made you frown with displeasure. You considered not telling him, but figured that he was probably going to press you or continue to talk to you anyway. Or god forbid try to walk behind the counter to look for himself.
âTracking down a shipment,â you grunted.Â
âOh!â Sato exclaimed, his eyes lighting up with excitement, âWhatâs the shipment? And where is it? Is it something fun?â The way he asked questions reminded you of a toddler learning how the world worked. The incessant âwhyâ questions that most parents dreaded. Normally, you loved knowledge and the pursuit of it, but it was exhausting coming from him. Or perhaps you were merely fed up with the way the past week had gone.
âA bunch of rare books from one of our regular suppliers. It was supposed to be here last Tuesday,â you sighed, staring woefully at the screen, âFor the amount we pay on shipping, the lateness is egregious.â
âWhatâs the shipping company?â Sato asked, his tone shifted to something far less playful. When you looked up to see if he was joking, he looked deadly serious. You werenât sure why it mattered or why he cared. In fact, he looked almost offended on your behalf.
âExpress Delivery,â you supplied, though it sounded more like a question than a statement. Recognition lit his eyes and a resolute determination filled the air around him.
âIâm on it,â Sato nodded, pulling out his phone.
Dumbfounded, you stared at him like he had grown another head. What the hell was this random man going to do about your missing shipments? Who the hell did he think he was? Slightly unnerved, you watched him warily. Sato tapped on his phone for what seemed like an eternity, looking down at it as if his life depended on it.
âDone!â Sato smiled, suddenly shouting loud enough that you jumped in your seat.Â
âWhat?â You croaked in confusion. He may as well have started backflipping in place and dancing like a clown.
âYour shipments will arrive tomorrow,â he nodded resolutely, beaming at you like he was a superhero that expected gratitude. All you could do was stare at him for a few moments, completely perplexed. Going from Point A immediately to Point Z with no actual understandable course was sending your brain into a tailspin.Â
âYouâre insane,â You settled on saying. Of course, it only made him laugh like it was the funniest thing he had ever heard.
âMaybe! Probably,â Sato said with a mischievous tilt to his voice, âBut I always keep my word. Youâll get the books, trust me.â
The last thing you wanted to do was trust him. To placate his insanity, you merely nodded and went back to your work. Or, at least, you tried to. Before Sato started bothering you again.Â
âDid you put out those Jane Austen books from last week? I was thinking about renting them out. I havenât read those since my schooldays,â he reminisced fondly. The fact that he had noticed what you were working on even though you hadnât talked about it was even more shocking. You hadnât expected him to notice or care. His attention to detail was becoming more apparent, and he likely wasnât as much of a fool as you had initially speculated.
âI did, yes, theyâre out on the floor,â you nodded, âYouâll find them in historic fiction.â
When you made eye contact with his alarmingly blue eyes, you could see the gears turning in his head, smoke practically pouring out of his ears. There was a searching quality in his expression, like you were a puzzle he was desperately trying to solve. Twisting his mouth to the side, he cocked his head and paused a moment before he spoke. Something in your gut told you he was scheming.
âYou know, Iâm still pretty new to the library. Iâm not sure where everything is. Would you mind showing me?â His voice was far too innocent sounding, which made you suspicious. For whatever reason, he was trying to get you up and out of the fortress of your desk. Probably so he could try to flirt with you or check you out or something equally appalling.Â
âThird shelf on the left, seventh section down,â you said, pointing in said direction. True to your initial suspicions, his face fell slightly in disappointment that you werenât getting out of your desk.Â
You werenât necessarily a stranger to men coming in to try to flirt with you, though you were very quick at shutting this down. It wasnât really in your current interest to date anybody and you disliked pointless flirtations. Your work was important to you; it was your entire life, and you never really liked the idea of being tied down to anybody in particular. Plus, you found it in poor taste for a man to try to pick someone up at their place of work.Â
Despite his face falling initially, Sato recovered quickly to his credit. His grin was friendly as he nodded and headed off in the indicated direction without further complaint or comment. Then, you were finally left with peace and quiet to continue poking around on the shipment website because you didnât trust that Sato would magically make those packages appear out of thin air. And it gave you something to focus on instead of wondering whether Sato would suddenly appear behind you like something out of a horror film.
Around an hour or so later, Sato emerged from the shelves with the Jane Austen collection in his gloved hands. You were surprised that he had remembered and respected the rule, and he must have grabbed a pair from one of the many stands that were perched at the ends of aisles. There was a triumphant look on his face as he set them on top of the counter.
âYou found them without any trouble?â You asked with a raised eyebrow, and you hoped it was obvious from your tone that you had seen through his act of ignorance.
âI did, indeed,â Sato beamed, adding with an obvious wink, âNever underestimate my persistence.âÂ
You didnât bother to hide your eye roll as you grabbed the copies. They were still in the same pristine condition that you restored them to. Running your finger along the spines, you couldnât help but examine your work to ensure it was still satisfactory. The glue had dried well and there was no bubbling along the covers to suggest any tampering had been done.Â
âYou said you wanted to rent these?â You asked after your brief moment of inspection.Â
âBingo! Right on the money,â Sato sang, throwing a finger gun your way that almost made you laugh. He was preposterous and corny, so much so that it almost circled from being cringey to ironic. The man didnât seem to take anything seriously, least of all himself.Â
âThese are more expensive than the last ones,â you warned, preemptively searching the books up in your system and supplying the whopping price to him, âTheyâre ten grand.â
âFantastic,â Sato said, tilting his head to the side with an eye-crinkling smile.
The first expensive book you could have written off to him being in massive credit card debt and making poor financial decisions for the hell of it. Adding another ten grand without batting an eye meant that he was either in earth-shattering debt and didnât care, or that Sato was filthy fucking rich. Maybe he was a salaryman or CEO of some bigshot company. That would explain his connection to the shipping company. It didnât really matter, but curiosity was a deadly disease that you had never really recovered from. This, you blamed on being an academic interested in literature. Curiosity unfortunately came naturally to you.Â
âTen grand sounds fantastic? What are you, some sort of billionaire?â You joked, shaking your head as you started the process of checking the books out to him. As long as the library got the money, you didnât care what his salary was.
âNot yet. Maybe someday,â Sato laughed easily, âThough I suspect the public would want my head on a stick by that point. More than some already do.â
The vague response did not answer any questions and, in fact, gave you several more. Inquiring would only encourage him and break the tender barrier of personal boundaries you had set on not learning more about Satoâs personal life.Â
Since you had previously established an account for Sato, the process didnât take nearly as long as it had the first time. Instead of being mostly silent like before, apparently he thought now was the opportune moment to do a bit of small talk. Despite nothing in your countenance that would suggest you were receptive to it.Â
âHow long have you worked here for?â Sato asked pleasantly, toying with the cup of pens on top of the counter. You eyed the distraction with displeasure, but decided it was better for his attention to be half-directed in another place lest you receive the full brunt of it.
âAbout three years now,â you murmured.
âDo you like it?â Sato asked, continuing to speak before you could so much as breathe, âIf I were you, Iâd love this place. Itâs so peaceful. Calm. Nobody expects things from you. And you get to read for a living.âÂ
When you looked up, he had a nostalgic soft glow on his face as he stared down at the cup of pens, lost in thought. The insight was surprising to you, and it felt like he was saying more than he really was. The mystery was thickening around him, adding more layers with each time he spoke. Stupid curiosity. It really did kill that cat, you mused internally.Â
âI do like it,â you nodded, âItâs mostly peaceful, though I donât exactly get to read for a living. Itâs a lot of administrative work and research. Book restoration, too. Itâs been a dream of mine since I was young.âÂ
You hadnât even realized how long you had been talking, having been so absorbed in your task. When it came to books and your job, you had no filter even for the likes of Sato. The expression on his face suggested that he thought this was unique to him, as if you were trying to form a connection with him and it made you frown and look away.
âOh, to have childhood dreams that come true,â Sato sighed dreamily, âYou know, I wanted to be a paleontologist when I was a kid. Dinosaurs fascinated me. Like, how did they even get there in the ground? Why were they so big and weird looking?â He gestured emphatically, looking genuinely innocently perplexed to the point that you almost smiled again.Â
âWhy didnât you?â you found yourself asking. You tried to imagine him baking in the sun at a dig site barking at someone for nearly crushing a bone. It was rather hilarious and didnât really seem natural to him. Worse, you imagined he would probably have many insufferable dinosaur puns at the ready.
âSome of us have the misfortune of being born talented and pretty,â Sato said dismissively, waving you off with a dramatic huff.
This made you look up from your work and stare at him incredulously until he made eye contact with you. You were trying to decide what on earth that meant and if he was being serious or self-congratulating. Likely a mixture of the two.Â
âWhat?â Sato asked, cocking his eyebrow, then his face settled into recognition and he smirked, âOhh, I see. Youâre worried I donât think that youâre pretty, too.â
His response had you visibly shaking your head in bewilderment. The audacity of him never ceased to amaze you. His mental gymnastics, as well. You swore he could get an Olympic medal in it. You truly had no idea how he had come to that conclusion.
âWhat?!â You balked, your voice going squeaky with shock. If you had pearls, you would certainly be clutching them at that moment.Â
âYes, itâs clear to me now,â Sato leaned forward, resting his head on his fist as he preened, âFear not, dear Juliet. I find you to be extremely pretty. Ravishing. Gorgeous. Heart-stopping. Beautiful-â
âSato-â you tried to interject, desperate for him to stop.
âOkay, I get it,â you raised your voice, your cheeks heated with indignation. The sheepish look on your face must have confused Sato into thinking you were being bashful, but you really just hated being complimented. Especially in such a direct and ludicrous manner.
âGood. Itâs important to me that you do,â Sato smirked, tilting his head with an expression that you could only describe as bemused. Fond, even.Â
Almost rudely, you gathered the books into a protective bag and shoved them towards him. You had reached your Sato tolerance for the day and needed him to leave sooner rather than later. To think you had just almost been amused by his anecdotes on dinosaurs.
âDue date is in a week,â you said bluntly, refusing to make eye contact.Â
âIâm counting down the hours as we speak,â Sato said, straightening as he grabbed the books, âOh, and do tell me if you donât get that shipment by tomorrow. Feel free to call the number on file for me. For that, or anything else that might come up. You know, youâre bored, you miss me, you need a shoulder to cry on, youâre lonely and want to see your handsome friend-â
âGood bye, Sato,â you cut him off with an unamused expression.
âUntil next week, Juliet,â he stepped back and bowed so dramatically that his long arms almost brushed the floor. Then, he graciously left with an annoying, dorky wave.
To your utter shock, the shipment arrived the next day almost as soon as you unlocked the doors and started opening your floor. There was even a personal note from the CEO himself apologizing for the inconvenience and a discount code for the shipping costs on your next order. Stunned, you thought back to Sato tapping away on his phone and you were even more confused.
Who the hell was Sato and how did he have so much influence? And why had he suddenly decided to use it for you?

criticism is appreciated btws..!!âĄ
classmate!nerdjo who got accustomed to his classes in the beginning of the year! he thought this year, especially being his senior year, he should try something like physics to give him more of a challenge! after settling into class, getting his seat, and waiting for the teacher to arrive he saw you.
classmate!nerdjo who thought you were beautiful, of course, he never made a move. this year he wants to focus on acing his classes and of course his digimon collection!! he's been obsessed with digimon ever since he was a kid and used to watch the movie! he only recently decided to seriously start collecting the figures and cards.
classmate!nerdjo who's been obsessed with digimon ever since he was a kid and used to watch the movies! he only recently decided to seriously start collecting the figures and cards. so after studying he's been pretty preoccupied rewatching the movies and shows, as well as scouring apps and websites for stuff to add to his collection!
classmate!nerdjo who, despite being obsessed with digimon, like i said, he's busy acing his studies as well! he's the top of his class and everyone knew it. no one could ever out-do his scores! which is why he wasn't surprised when his physics teacher recommended him to tutor you.
he agreed, although reluctant, since he has his own things going for him. his digimon, studies, as well as hanging out with his friends! and especially his best friend, basically since nursery, suguru! he honestly didn't even want to tutor, well, until he realized he'd be tutoring you!
classmate!nerdjo who set aside his hours for collecting, and even cut down time with hanging out with his friends, to tutor you. he wasn't too happy about tutoring especially since his peers can act so stupid at times. but hey, even if he goes through your cluelessness, at least it's you. pretty much the only person he's found interest in this school year..
classmate!nerdjo who actually took his sweet time tutoring you, don't get him wrong, he's not gonna let you fail the school year.. he just wants to take his time so that you don't get it immediately and can spend more time with him is all!! he's not gonna leave you completely clueless, i mean, he might lead you the wrong direction a few times and get pretending-ly frustrated, but he won't let you fail!
classmate!nerdjo who, through your small talk and rambling, eventually found out that you both partake in collecting! you were honestly pretty reluctant to let him know since doll-collecting is seen as immature and childish, but he loved that part about you. and honestly he was ecstatic to find this out! he loved having something in common with you !!
friend!nerdjo who started gushing with you about his collection as well, due to the shared interest you guys hit it off pretty well! now with you guys' phone numbers instead of just talking about studies, its also about y'alls collection, how long you both have been collecting, and facetiming each other to show it off!
friend!nerdjo who, a month later, is proud to say you finally understand the material better and officially lets you go as his tutee. though, you guys don't stop texting && facetiming each other. you guys even go to the other's house and watch movies and play games!
well into the school year, you both can really say at this point y'all are good friends. you have even met his best friends suguru and shoko! you guys have all become good friends and all is well. until you start becoming close to nerd!jo's classmate, nanami.
jealous!nerdjo who often sees you talking to nanami during lunch breaks and study hall. that is so wrong to him.. you usually sat with shoko, suguru, and him.. why nanami? hes not jealous or anything its just so random.. like, you usually sit with him and his friends during lunch, all of a sudden you switch up? ok, weird.. but then to add, you sit with nanami during study hall..? as in, the time usually reserved for you and sometimes him as well to study together and be comfortable in each other's prescence?
get this, one time he even overheard you talking to nanami about your collection.. he thought that part of you was reserved for him!! he was livid!! he vented to suguru and shoko for hours about this. he couldn't believe you!! all that bonding you and him did was going in the dumps for nanami??.. he honestly felt betrayed, you opened up to him about your collection because you felt silly collecting dolls, you hadn't even told suguru and shoko yet! and yet you open up to this random? oh he could cry.
but he's not in love or anything, even though everytime he thinks about it for too long his head pounds with anger, and he feels so upset with you that he could spend the whole day crying, he's not in love or obsessed or anything... its just normal friend jealousy stuff, of course..
jealous!nerdjo who would constantly try to redirect the conversation with you when you would bring up nanami, and would visibly get frustrated when you brought up nanami in any way, shape, or form. and then when you started to catch on, how his mannerisms has changed over these past few weeks, you finally got the hint! he is so jealous!
you actually had to pry him open for quite a while. he refused to admit at all, especially since you guys are just friends.. right? when he finally admitted it, all his thoughts came flooding in! he told you that he just felt like you're prioritizing nanami, and that honestly, he felt casted aside. he even said that he overheard you telling nanami about your collection. yknow, the one you were embarrassed about? he thought he was special for knowing that about you, considering you told him you don't tell most people.
though, you made sure to reassure him that its perfectly ok to get a bit jealous and that he's still your good friend !! you told him that you'd never start ignoring him or favoring nanami over him, and that if he ever felt like that again that he should be sure to tell you so you can reassure him again! and that if emotions like this persist, you'd be glad to introduce nanami and him to each other and hang out with both of them at the same time!
best friend!nerdjo who, in that moment, his heart began to pound harder. his breathing hitched everytime he inched closer to him, his hands started to shake everytime you held them and reassured him that nothing bad is gonna happen to his place as your friend. as crazy as it sounds, he wanted to blurt out that he isn't just jealous that you're spending more time with nanami. he's come to realize that he really loves you. and that lately, everytime he's near you his heart begins to feel like its about to burst. though, he could never tell you that. maybe one day he'll tell you, he just doesn't want to lose you!
i'm gonna be honest i might delete this. half-way through making this i thought gooner nerdjo would be better and more entertaining ngl.. =_=
Your daughter finds her father's journal after you both pass away.
Synopsis: You and Satoru's daughter finds her late father's journal after he passes away, just one year after you did.
(as a thank you to all 500 of u for supporting my silly works!! Love u all. )
Tags: Fluff, cute, kinda bittersweet so like angst with comfort. I'm sobbing, lovey dovey husband!satoru x wife!reader, established relationship (married), growing old and reminiscing, nostalgia is a bitch. Kind of canon au but he survives so canon divergence. Middle pic is someones oc but imagine its ur daughter
Spring is in full swing.
Beautiful vast yards of grass are covered in colorful flowers like a Claude Monet painting. Yuuka unlocks the front door to her childhood home nestled deep in the Tokyo mountains where the sun reaches first and the night greets last with quietness and star-covered skies.
The door swings open and dust welcomes her with a sorrowful package. Nostalgia and grief hitting her in that silent but heavy way. It's been one year since her father died and she hasn't had the courage to come back here.
Well, she hasn't really dared to visit as much either since her mother died too, two years ago.
But now, with a will that favor her and her children too muchâSatoru having left her, his only daughter, his entire fortune including the house and all of his cherished antique carsâYuuka can't hide from the place she grew up in anymore.
Her chest fills with old memories and a pressure that reminds her just how lonely it is without her parents. Yet, an undescribable warmth lingers on the surface of the abandoned houseâinviting her in as if her mother was still there, waiting with arm's open at the end of the hall and her father trailing behind with his bright smile and light eyes, the same ones she has.
It's exactly how the remembers it. Wooden floorboards that started creaking somewhere along the years, a small foyer with a hanger, a dark oak console table that holds a colorful plate with keys that no longer have ownersâand right next to it, frames.
Frames and frames of life.
Of her life.
And her parents' life.
She sees the first frame that she recognizes too well. Where she's on her father's shoulders at 4 years old and smiling as widely as her then-35-year-old father was.
White hair on white hair. Big toothy smiles (she was missing quite a few teeth, but that's not the point) and matching cerulean eyes. Nobody would dare to say she's not her father's twin.
Yuuka remembers you recounting the story anytime she'd ask about how you took the picture on the day of her father's birthday when you both surprised him at work with a birthday party.
The honeyed sound of her motherâs voice rings in her head and her throat starts to burn. She said she wouldn't cry as she can basically feel her dad saying from up there that his princess shouldn't cry, but she can't push back the first streak from falling down her face.
Another frame shows you and Satoru on a sunflower field. His large hands that can could cause irreversible damage to the world softly curved and gently holding his world as he cups your then 6 month bump from behind.
Then holding his world. Head dipped and snuggled into your shoulder where he was pressing fragile kisses to, Satoru made you giggle at the exact moment the picture snapped and your smiling and glowing figure was recorded forever.
His daughter remembers him boast about the picture and how much he loved it. She can see why. You look radiant in it.
The next frame is the largest one. It's importance needing to be pronounced because it's the grounds for this house and her own existence.
Your wedding portrait.
This year, Yuuka knows you would've celebrated your 60th anniversary with Satoru. But in the picture, back then, you were just 26. Young and still as beautiful as you were in your last moments.
All kind eyes and soft smiles wearing a white dress that looked made for you. A lively bouquet of flowers in your hands, with the same kind of delicate petals she'd grown to favor through the years.
Satoru was on your right.
Supposed to be looking at the camera.
But he wasn't.
He was looking at you. Unable to rip his eyes from his then-bride as you looked straight ahead onto the lens. Lips slightly parted and head lowered to you, Satoru looked like he was starstruck.
And Yuuka could see how much he loved you then.
And she saw how much he loved you till his last breath.
Even when you were no longer with him.
Her father's spirit is recorded in every corner of the house.
Past the entrance hall there is an open old-fashioned kitchen to the left that is a sore sight for her knowing that three years ago she would've walked in to see youâwith your weak bones and wrinkled skinâcooking and jumping at the sight of her visiting.
On the right there is a vast living room with an outdated TV you both sentimentally refused to allow your daughter to change, and a couch that has lived longer than her.
Where she spent a lot of time on. Play fighting with her dad, watching movies with friends as a teenager, screaming when she got into her dream college, crying when she announced her pregnancy to her parents.
Her life is in this house.
And far back is the master bedroom where you slept with your husband.
Yuuka's steps are hesitant as she draws near the entrace. The door creaks open with an ear-splitting screech.
She's met with the sight it always had. A comically large bed as her father was 6 feet 3 and never slept a day without her mother. Two nightstands filled with more pictures to the brim, some of her but most of them.
Polaroids glued to the wall from more than 60 years agoâfrom back when her parents were still datingâa walk-in closet her father hand built and designed for his wife as he knew they would have no place to keep the gifts he spoiled her with.
And a small entrance in the roof that leads up to the attic where Yuuka has rarely ever been in.
That catches her attention like a moth to a flame. She's tall enough nowâbeing 180 and allowing her to catch some modeling gigs as a teenagerâshe easily pulls down the trap door and attached stairs come down as well.
Almost 60, with her kids well into adulthood, her knees hurt just a bit as she climbs the stairs. And up in the attic she's met with so much dust it's hard to breathe.
Her lungs beg for release so she cracks a window open in the roof which illuminates the space for her to finally see and not be engulfed in darkness.
Boxes stacked on top of boxes is pretty much all there is save for a few pieces of old furniture you've both replaced sometime.
There are labels named with your handwriting on every piece of cardboard.
"Wedding pictures, 2019."
"Honeymoon pictures, 2019."
"Yuuka, 2020~2040."
"Y/N L/N, 2014-2018." Of when you were dating her father, not yet married.
"Y/N Gojo, 2019-2076." In Satoru's messy handwriting. He must have made your box once you passed away.
A small smile places itself on Yuuka's lips as she eyes how much bigger the box of your belongings as Y/N Gojo is. Knowing how much Satoru loved to spoil you.
She's about to open the box from your youth when a small, new-looking box catches her eyes.
It's yellow, sealed around the edges, with a different label on the front. And as she pulls the strangely light, seemingly empty box closer to her, she notices the different handwriting.
Oh.
It's her father's box.
"Satoru Gojo, 2014-2077."
Her heart aches at the slightly faded ink.
Satoru died in 2078.
But he stopped living when you did.
So in 2077 his life ended.
He must have stayed only for her and his nephews.
Now, as she stares at the box, the memories of her father's tense smileânot at all how it used to beâin his last year cloud her mind and a sob rips free from her chest.
Hooking her shaky fingers around the sides, she tugs the tape off and opens the the box to find it almost emptyâonly a worn out journal in the middle.
"My angel." Is written in the middle in cleaner but still recognisable as her late-fathers handwriting.
Her mouth falls open at the sight. The spine threatens to split as she picks up the overstuffed, yellow paged pages.
For a second, she hesitates.
It's a diary after all.
She's not supposed to see this.
But she can't help it.
Gently, she peels open the wrinkled book to see the first page.
She imagines her father's voice booming through the attic as he reads.

Hello future me! My beautiful beautiful beautiful amazing wife (we aren't married yet but we will be) (i already bought the ring, she doesn't know yet hihi <â (â ̄â ︜â ̄â )â >) said that I should not post so much about my life on facebook because it's dangerous and something about digital footprint as if i know what that's about.
Anyway, I did kind of listen to her and stopped for a while.
But then my lovely wife saw how sad I got and she bought me this journal! She even engraved out initials in the back!
Yuuka flips the diary to indeed find your initials pressed into the leather on the back.
She continues reading.
So I'm going to start writing even though it is probably not going to be as satisfying as Megumi, Yuji and Nobara (Nanami sometimes) commenting on my amazing facebook posts.
Anyway, Y/N is making cake and I can't let her whisk anything as the great husband I am so bye!
February 1st, 2018.
Guess who is engaged? Guess who said "I do!"? My wife!!!!!!! My fiancee. I am getting married. I feel like a little kid who got his favorite candy. I was so nervous like it took me back to when Yaga would catch me Shoko and Suguru doing something wrong.
Y/N is really happy with her ring and I gotta admit, I nailed it.
Can't wait to see her in a white dress and then make a family. Love my wife so much.

When did my little kids become so big ಼â _â ಼? We won against the Kyoto sister school today since well, long story short we got attacked a few days ago blah bla blah so we decided on a match of baseball! And I knew I trained the kids well because we absolutely destroyed Kyoto! Am I not just great?
Still at work right now, have my diary locked in my secret drawer with candies. Miss my wife so much (´â ;â ︾â ;â `â ). I wonder if she'll let me sleep on her in the bathtub again today. She said she couldnât breathe because I'm too heavy. I am not heavy! I work hard for these muscles, I'm jacked and she knows it. (â 个â _â 个â ) Can't wait to go home.

Nobara is at it again with her shopping shenanigans, Yuji just called me saying he physically can't handle carrying her bags anymore. I told him to man up and carry them. My sweet Y/N has never carried a single bag, paid for anything or opened a single door in my presence. Maybe I should just make a robot that opens and does things for her when I'm not around.
Or I should just quit my job and be with her 24/7!
She's been so stressed lately with so many wedding preparations. I mean I help, and I try to relieve her stress with my amazing methods but it doesn't seem to be working. She's been forgetting to eat her meals and I'm worried. I think she's putting too much pressure on herself. I don't want her to change anything about herself for the wedding. I'd marry her tomorrow if it meant i could have her now.
But she wants a ceremony, says it's every little girl's dream. So i comply. I'll try making her something tonight. Or just pick up the macarons she likes. Yeah.
July 21st, 2018.
My wife has just brushed me off because she says she has to go try on wedding dresses! Am I the asshole if I don't want a ceremony anymore? Just give me my wifeeeeee! This is crucifying. Painful. My heart hurts.
Also, she banned me from coming with her. I want to see the dresses too... Why does Utahime get to go but I don't? I'm tired of this. I'm bored. Maybe I should ask Nanami for help. I do need to get my suit... and my shoes... and get a haircutâit's kind of early for that... Y/N gets a little feral when I cut my hair and I don't think she wants a baby at our wedding.
Oh i could start thinking of baby names!
Yuuka's face scrunches up at her father's words.

I am actually not as committed to this, but at the same time I am yk? Anyway, today we got a wedding cake sample taster thingy! We got it from Nanami's girlfriend, she has a bakery. It was a huge cake with each slice a different flavor, it was amazing. Me and Y/N saw the gates of heaven. I'm glad we agreed that Chocolate and cookies and cream mouse is going to be our cake, its our wedding and we eat what we want to! It's amazing getting married to your soulmate like Y/N is so amazing we had the same opinions on every single slice. Like the lemon tart was awful, well, not literally. But for a wedding cake? I felt a shiver go down my wife's spine.
Anyway, I do want the ceremony again. For now, as my precious angel gets ready for the big day, I'm planning the honeymoon. It's going to be epic. Thinking of Italy, greece, or maybe a retreat in the moutains. She likes quiet places. Said we should have a house up high.
Maybe I should make her a house as a wedding gift! Ooh~ Can i get that done in 4 months..?
October 7th, 2018.
Told the wifey I was out for a business tripâand I am! Sorta. Me and Nanami are looking for land (i am paying for his "overtime" ââ _â â but he's been really helpful so...). Feeling a bit bad for lying to Y/N... Will prob tell her the truth after the house is built. I've found out it will be done earliest (unfurnished, but I'll leave her to decorate it) by March.
And feeling really bad because I'm away from her! Just one more day and I'll be home! Wedding soon!
November 19th, 2018.
T minus 5 days till our wedding!!!! I'm getting married! Wonder what Suguru is thinking of it. Wish he were here. As my best man.
November 23rd, 2018.
It's tomorrow.
Tomorrow I marry the love of my life. The woman that has held me through the good and bad without needing vows. Speaking of vows, I'm nervous to say them. Needed a lot of help from Shoko to put my love for Y/N into words. I wonder how she feels because she's Y/N's maid of honor as her bsf passed away not long ago. I guess me and my wifey have lost a lot together. We are still together tho. Perfect for each other.
I can't wait to see her tomorrow. I am going to cry I'm saying it now. Recording it for wifey to see it someday. I know myself. She also said she knows I'll cry. I will. Can't wait. I probably won't be able to sleep tonight. I hope Y/N doesn't feel my heartbeat going insane.
I'm getting married!!
February 1st, 2019.
Help, I forgot to update for a while. Today is our one year engagement anniversary. Was on my honeymoon... if you need a reminder, Satoru, check your camera hihi. Anyway, my lovely baby is having a baby! We're pregnant! Well, she is. I don't get why people say that. I'm rethinking that idea of making her a robot that helps around since I'm still working. Either way, Y/N is so so so pretty with her two month bump, we'll know the gender next week. I am soooooo excited. But i know we are having a girl so i guess it's no fun.
I'm not going to tell her i saw it with my six eyes... but i knew way before too! I knew it was a girl since day one!
Can't wait till she finds out. My wife. Yep im a husband, almost father. She looked mesmerizing, like nothing i could have ever imagined on our wedding btw. Yes, i cried. And im still the manliest man and strongest man she knows. I love you so much, Y/N.
February 30th, 2019.
Hi Satoru's diary, it's your wife. You ran out after i muttered the words "I lowkey would go insane for some doritos and vanilla ice cream right now." And left this for me to find on your desk while i napped. I'm sure you didn't want me to find out about this, i haven't read anything i promise. Maybe the first line on page one before starting to sob. Your daughter is making me really moody. I hope you're already thinking of baby names.
I love you so much, Satoru. You have no no no idea at all. You're the light in my day, the reason behind my smiles, the motive behind the stars in my eyes. You're my everything and I'm so glad I married someone so perfect as you. We have had our arguments and downs, but look at us! 6 months away from being parents! Who would've thought? 2012 me would've been screaming crying and throwing up over the fact that I'm having a baby with my senior crush!! Okay cutie I think I hear ur footsteps, love you so much bye bye. Kisses, love.
-your wife.

Baby Yuuka is here! Welcome to the world my little princess, you are already so loved. Uncle Nanami is currently holding you with the softest look on his face, it's actually scary. His wife wants a go at holding you too but I'm pretty sure I can see the cogs in his head turning and I'm pretty sure he wants one now too. Slow down, Nanamin, you've been married for three months (we made Yuuka on our honeymoon).
Your mother looks gorgeous. Tired? Yes. But so bright. I'm giving your aunt five minutes until I kick everyone out so your mom can sleep and I can take care of you.
You are a NICU baby in case you didn't know, Stressed the living life out of me and your mom when you came out half-dead. The world went quiet when you were in intensive care. We weren't well. It was the scariest thing in the world.
I almost lost my wife. We have agreed to not have any more children. But I'm certain that you will be more than enough for us. Why am I already starting to cry at the thought of you leaving for college and getting married?! You're barely a day old!
Anyway, thank you to my wife for giving me the best gift in the world. I love you, Y/N.
December 7th, 2019.
Yuuka's little babbles are the cutest thing ever help my heart is melting. It's my birthday! I'm 30... thirty and flirty! (Only with my wife.). Y/N got me a vintage record player! And all of my favorite songs! Mornings have just updated, will blast Mine by Bazzi and sing my soul out to my dearest tomorrow!!!
Sweetheart is tired, her milk ducts keep getting clogged, Yuuka is a pretty fussy baby. I try to stay up and massage her tense shoulders, she passes out in the tub while I wash her hair. It's so cute. I remember when I used to be the one falling asleep on her. Well, now the perks of being the strongest come in handy!
January 3rd, 2020.
First Christmas with a baby and first New Year done! Apparently...Nanami is having a baby too... what a Christmas present... I got a Christmas present like that too... Is he copying me..? Me and Y/N are dropping off the little princess at her grandparents to go and visit our friends. Been a while, need to update Suguru about how my daughter is crawling.
January 14th, 2020.
Was looking at the calendar today and I was like"I feel like today is something important." And it is! Been journaling for two years now! (â Â â ââ âżâ ââ Â â ) Re-read my entries and found out my darling wrote one! She's so adorable l love her so much I'm going to explode.
Yuuka is a clingy adorable baby, her mom calls her a velcro baby. I secretly hope her first words are dada and i sometimes teach her how to say it, hopefully Y/N doesn't see this oups. Anyway, speaking of my wife. She looks so good I just want toâ
Modern-day Yuuka slams the book closed before her eyes catch the next words. With tears running down her cheeks, she decides she's invaded her father's privacy enough.
There's a whole thousand of pages to read, history of more than 60 years in them.
But what lies inside are secrets between you and Satoru.
Moment's she's not supposed to remember and that's fine.
Her chest is still tight with longing and ache.
She's never missed her parents so much.
The clean smell of fresh linen and softener her mother always eluded.
The feeling of her feet dangling in the air when her father would pick her up in a hug.
Or the comforting taste of mom's kikufiku she'd mastered because her husband adored it.
It's all so beautiful.
The love you both shared.
A love so deep it birthed her.
A love so deep it raised a child.
A child who years to go back to simpler times.
She understands now when you both acted like cringy teenagers even in your forties.
And she used to be embarrassed about it.
About her parents being so in love.
But now, a mother herself.
She understands it so much.
And she's so happy you are together now.
As much as she misses you both.
Yuuka is happy you're both reunited.
Watching over her.
Back to my roots (fluff). Hi <3
This was in my drafts alr written but im waiting on the poll results for my next clear out. Looks like suguru and scarjo(mylove) are coming back!!
