it's weird rewatching jigsaw right after rewatching saw, because both movies vibes are completely different. I think jigsaw is fine, and works as it's own movie, but it being connected to the rest of the franchise just feels wrong. It's far too industrial compared to the rest of the series. The saw I know utilizes rusty scrap metals and home-made contraptions, what's this minimalistic ikea looking bs?!?! The main thing that pisses me off is how "high tech" everything looks. The clean look of flat screen tvs and LED lights as opposed to CRTs and crappy fluorescent lighting throws me off so much.

Do we ever think about the fact Adam is specifically described to look "like a rat. A drowned rat." And that was the character Leigh cast himself as. Outstanding self awareness or self loathing.

Yes I love a good adam lives au. But why isn't he more fucked up? Why is there not more fanfiction about him being a fucked traumatized weirdo? What if he was braindead for a little bit in that bathroom before he was defibrillated, and now he struggles with his speech, or memory or has mobility issues? What if he struggles with empathy now? What if he became a complete shut in after getting out of the bathroom? What if none of his old friends recognise him anymore, and they're all a little bit scared of him? or what if he's exactly the same except just a little bit off? what if the way he talks and moves and thinks is weird and offputting now? What if he has severe trust issues now, or what if the bathroom just completely and utterly changed who he is as a person???

It sucks that Hoffman not having ever been tested by John is made so unambiguous in the later movies. Because I would kill for Saw XI to have a subplot where, tired of his apprentices acting like literal squabbling children, John finally puts Amanda and Hoffman in a "this is our 'get along' torture trap" game.
