Another summer when E3 used to be, another Nintendo Direct to fill that void, and I'm here to share my thoughts on this Direct.

I can understand the sentiment that this Nintendo Direct was lacklustre, or simply average. The presentation could do with a lot of work and it felt more Partner Direct than Nintendo Direct at times. That said, on a personal level, I got plenty out of this direct.

A Nintendo Switch Sports sequel with Nintendo Switch Sports Resort? Awesome! More spotlight on Rhythm Paradise Groove with an RPG mode? Great. My much hoped for port of Stellar Blade so I can finally play the game? Wait well worth it. MURAMASA: THE DEMON BLADE!? HOLY HECK!!!! One of my top 10 favourite games of all time with extra content is a joy for me.

It has been a while since I shared a video so here's a bunch of Switch captured clips (with commentary over it) of me playing Sonic Superstars with my nephews and niece.

I was just about to head for bed last night, doing one last browse of YouTube, when out of the corner of my eye I see... a Star Fox Direct about to premiere in a couple minutes?

Yeah, that was unexpected. Really cool, but unexpected.

A new Star Fox game... except it isn't. It has long since leapt past the edge of insanity when the same general premise of Star Fox story and gameplay is being redone for a fifth time. (Star Fox on SNES, Star Fox 64, Star Fox 3D, Star Fox Zero, and now Star Fox... which is confusingly named). There was a lot of disagreement over what people wanted from a new Star Fox game, but I think it not being a remake/port of Star Fox SNES/64 once again was the one thing everyone agreed with.

It's... displeasing, disheartening; to see, or lack of seeing I guess. Tupperware-wizard was not simply a fantastic artist but one of the friendliest I've ever had the pleasure to interact with. They never cared much for publicity, didn't even want reblogs of their works (which I respected, despite how much I wanted to highlight the amazing artwork they gave to me upon request), and didn't have any alternative site they were a part of as a backup place as far as I'm aware. It's very sad to see them gone from this site with no way to contact them or know if they'll return.

It is also shocking just how quickly they and their stuff has vanished. I clicked on their Tumblr yesterday morning to see if they had updated with another amazing artwork and now... nothing. So many great beautiful and often times humorous pieces lost.
