Don't get me wrong I love Keeley, but upon rewatch she irritates me so bad with the way she handles ANY small inconvenience in her relationships with Roy and Jamie. And the sad part is that (for me at least) it is so easy to tell why.
She does not take them seriously. At all, yeah she likes them or whatever on her terms. But she still doesn't take them seriously in their careers, which with what they do, to a certain extent their whole life revolves around (what with the diet and exercise required, among other things(including their PR stuff)). You can see it right in S1, when she's making fun of Roy: "I'm Roy Kent and I get paid to play a game. But I'm mad all the time." Like, yes. It is a game, but it is also their CAREER THEY ARE PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES. Idc, the way that she dates footballers but never seems to acknowledge that for them this is not JUST a game.
Sorry for this rant but:
It's especially evident with Roy. Roy got scouted by Sunderland at NINE YEARS OLD, this has been his LIFE since before he hit double digits. He's like 38 in season 1, debuted at 17, this has been his job for 21(ish) years. He retires and he's upset and she never seems to take it with any weight. The way it's portrayed, it feels like he didn't even get a full off season to be upset about a huge part of his life ending before she started pushing him into being a pundit (admittedly it did end up being good for him, but still). Not to mention the way she brushes off him being upset about her masturbating to his press conference, where he (a man not comfortable with the world seeing him have any emotion besides anger) cries because he has to give up something he has been doing his WHOLE LIFE!!! Girl, the disrespect.
Anyway, sorry again for the rant but I needed to get it out of my system.
don’t apologize you’re so right. she’s dismissive of their entire livelihoods.
on top of flirting with roy while with jamie, making the disgusting jokes at the gala, how she talks about jamie to shandy + airing out her issues with roy to his co workers and talking about him instead of to him, and then blowing up in his face, and then acting heart broken like he did something wrong when he realized they didn’t work
she also does get dismissive toward them. something that’s there entire lives and yeah your right making a big emotional moment of roy’s a joke is really weird.
i’ve said it before but even if i did ship rjk i wouldn’t understand why she’s treated as the more accepting open minded one who would get those boys to communicate. she can not for others sake. she doesn’t take accountability either. her with either of them wasn’t a good fit. i think because she’s nice and has a sunny disposition, she’s seen as always the good one always nice. where as jamie has a facade of loving only himself and is actually a prick in season one so people see him as only ever being in the wrong. then roy is angry and not openly emotional because he’s spent years in football and his anger was celebrated and all he could be, so people also assume he’s going to be in the wrong compared to keeley. its all the other characters and the audience that never think past this. i don’t like keeley with either roy or jamie, and i don’t mean that in just a royjamie shipping way. i mean it in a i watched the show and those relationships didn’t work for a reason way, and it wasn’t just jamie. it was hardly ever roy.

Thinking about Zoreaux losing his mind when the Hollanov FanMail video gets leaked and the AFC Richmond dressing room is like uh bit homophobic there, mate 😕
And he has to explain that he doesn't care if they're gay or whatever and obviously them getting outed is awful, but why did his boy Shane Hollander have to pick Rozanov.
He's trying to explain the rivalry in football terms when someone chimes in like didn't he already come out a few years ago? Kissed his fella on the ice?
(Not every day that a professional male athlete pulls a move like that, especially after a championship — of course they'd heard about it.)
And then Zoreaux nearly has a heart attack that someone confused Scott Hunter and Shane Hollander and Beard has to step in and explain hockey to everyone while Zoreaux recovers.
Zoreaux being appalled when the Metros start treating Shane like crap.
AFC Richmond has, during all of this, become sort-of fans of hockey. (They mostly only follow to support Zoreaux and whenever they watch, it's in a very "they're a little confused, but they've got the spirit" kind of way.)
When Shane eventually leaves Montreal for Ottawa, Zoreaux and the team hold a funeral for Zoreaux's Hollander Metros jersey. (He still keeps it, but it gets retired.) They immediately present him with a new Hollander Ottawa jersey. The Metros are still his team in his heart of hearts but until they get their act together, he's going to be an Ottawa fan.
