“In those days stars had approval of script and coactors,” says Audrey Hepburn. “Greg could have said at the time, ‘She’s just a little dancer, and perhaps we better get someone more established.’ ” Not only did Peck approve Hepburn for Roman Holiday, (1953) but he insisted she receive billing as costar. “I don’t know if people realize how generous he was to do that,” she marvels. Hepburn, of course, went on to win a Best Actress Oscar for her performance.

Faith is a force, a powerful force. To me, it’s been like an anchor to windward - something that’s seen me through troubled times and some personal tragedies and also through the good times and success and the happy times. Happy Birthday, Gregory Peck! (April 5th, 1916 - June 12th, 2003)
“At midnight, I'll turn into a pumpkin and drive away in my glass slipper.”
“And that will be the end of the fairy tale.”
