Billy often didn't care much for sweets, nor did he bother giving it the time of day to put money into buying them. But after hearing how much Jesse just LOVED hard candies during her time babysitting Son and Lisa, he couldn't help himself.
Maybe he was just being a hopeless romantic, maybe it was his need to give things to those he liked, maybe it was something else. The way she seemed to make the kids feel more at home, or maybe her optimistic look on things, or how she made that warmth rekindle anytime she'd hug him or give him a gentle pat on the shoulder. He wasn't quite sure.

He sighed.

John blinked, frowning before letting out a sigh and turning back. "Please don't forget those who have equally done the same."
