The way that this is just not fucking true even a little bit
Both subcultures were incredibly misogynistic, homophobic and transphobic. Just because people Looked similar* does NOT mean they were treated similarly.
* this also isn't true. Why are you talking about emo and scene like some species of like non-sexually dimorphic bird. There were differences in how men and women dressed in these subcultures. Like. Huge differences.
Similarly to how normie women are expected to do their hair and makeup and have a nice cohesive outfit where men can usually pass as "well groomed" with minimal effort, so too were emo and scene girls expected to live up to the aesthetic far more than the boys. Bangs in your face and a hoodie was passable for guys. Girls had to put their faces on, do up their hair, dye it, layer up their outfits, etc.
Can we stop erasing the actual history of these subcultures for the sake of ego stroking and nostalgia? Can you just say you're nostalgic for the emo and scene periods?? And stop lying to my fucking face???
