One more post and I’ll go to sleep. So it’s heavily implied/agreed upon in the fandom that Lister bottomed for the first time with Kevin the lighting guy which could be a whole post in of itself, and similarly to how Lister doesn’t really view what happened to him with the 32 year old woman as sexual assault, I think he makes a lot of excuses as to why what happened with Kevin is Fine and Normal even though it was probably certainly not a good experience for Lister. However, I don’t think it turns him away from bottoming as a concept, and I think it’s a very real possibility that he does bottom for another guy before he starts hooking up with Jimmy, but I also kind of like to think that he hasn’t since Kevin, but it’s been in the back of his mind that he would want to do it again under better circumstances. Now I think bicci’s conversation about it could go one of two ways, first option:
Lister brings it up. He loves Jimmy, they’ve already been having sex, and he trusts him enough to try it again. He knows Jimmy will respect him, be listen to him and not treat him like he’s fragile or a child; Jimmy is a safe space for him to try it out again. Second option:
Jimmy thinks it would be really fucking hot. I don’t think at this time Jimmy has topped someone before, but he has a strap because he’s definitely thought about it and wants to. Jimmy would definitely be nervous to ask Lister if it’s something he’d want to do because he knows Lister’s had bad experiences in the past, and he’s afraid that he wouldn’t want to do that with Jimmy (let’s hear it for internalized transphobia!!), so I imagine Jimmy just kind of blurts it out on a random Tuesday when they’re making out and Lister short circuits because he didn’t really expect Jimmy to want that and also: guy you’ve been in love with for years whose crazy attractive and has been sleeping with you wants to fuck you with a strap? HOT!!!
