HIATUS

Folks, I’m in a bad way.

Without going into too much detail, in a few months I am liable to fall below the poverty line (if what I believe is the poverty line is right). I’m still living at home, though I’d rather not go into further details. So I decided to do something foolhardy and suicidal.

Write a novel.

That being said, considering I am in school and writing, I can’t stay here and do all of this shit at the same time. I’ve always held the opinion that reality is much more important than a silly roleplay on the Internet, so I’m putting this blog on hiatus until further notice.

I’m sorry. But I can’t give it the attention it deserves.

And I’m not accepting donations. It’s another foolhardy decision, but I’d rather not have to explain to my parents where all of this anonymous Internet money is coming from.

I’ll see you all soon, hopefully.

Bradford. How goes Mission Control?

Well, Commander… Strike-One is investigating an anomalous event in South Africa, there’s a conspiracy nut who thinks we’re allied with EXALT and the aliens, and an older gentleman seems to have demolished an EXALT facility in Chicago with a gasoline tanker that had an IED rigged to its airbags.

Intelligence indicates that this latter individual is known by at least two aliases: “Old Man Henderson” and “Eli Burning”.

…getting a report from Strike-One, sir. The Hover SHIV they were using as a forward recon element has just been destroyed by sustained conventional-weapons fire from the structure that seems to be the epicentre of the South Africa anomaly.

Speaking of which, you may want to review the satellite recon imagery that prompted Strike-One’s deployment.

Nevermind that. Is there any way we can scramble aircraft to knock down the spire, or would that cause too much damage or unleash something unspeakable?

Unknown, sir. However, given the aliens’ apparent reluctance to engage in orbital bombardment - a tactic they’ve used in the past, albeit mostly for the purpose of intimidation - I would suspect that such tactics would have… undesirable consequences.

I would presume so as well.

I suppose all we can do for now is have Strike-One continue its advance. If using nuclear weapons is liable to commence orbital bombardment, then I cannot let that happen unless absolutely necessary.
