Anti-city people are just plain fascinating to me
As someone who lives in a city that has walkable neighborhoods, here's how shopping works (as an able-bodied person):
I take a lunchtime walk, daily if needed, with a backpack (modest size, holds about a single carry-basket in total volume). I stop at the store. I get the perishables I need for the next couple days' meals plus whatever I forgot the previous trip.
For the less mobile people I know, they still need a vehicle or shuttle to get around.. but the more of us able-bodied people there are walking for small trips, the easier it is for bus/shuttle service to support them.
