Gray frowned, staring at the kid. “What the fuck did you give me?” Everything was spinning and he was sweating. At the same time, he felt extremely relaxed, but it also scared him. He didn’t do well with drugs. Ever.

Pulling at the arm that Gray would not let go of, Jack shook his head, “No, I can make it, I can! I’ve done it before. If you would just let go!” When the older man reached into his pocket and pulled out an FBI badge the young boy nearly fainted. He was so dead, giving an FBI agent unknown pills that some bum had given him. Jack was going to be locked away for attempted murder and possession of narcotics or something like that.
“You tricked me!” he hissed through his teeth, fighting the man more now then ever. Even though his face was screwed up in anger and fear Gray would see the tears he held back. He wasn’t going to cry like some little kid ‘cause he’d been duped. No, he told himself he wouldn’t cry anymore.
At Gray’s insistent that he could help him get his freedom if he would just trust him, Jack hesitated but, he couldn’t trust him. Could he? At the look in the older man’s eyes, he relented and nodded. Something in Gray’s eyes just told him that he knew what Jack had gone through, that he wouldn’t let it happen again if he could help it.
“Okay,” Jack spoke in a whisper, icy blue eyes looking at the floor though as a tear escaped his hold, “I… I trust you, okay? Just don’t… don’t abandon me half way through…”
Gray nodded. “I won’t.” He said, barely a whisper. The cops came in, guns up and ready. Gray looked over to them and raised his badge. “FBI. Agent Gray. Class E. Jack is a very important eyewitness to a case I’m working. You take him from my side, and I’ll give you all hell.” He stared at the cops, still breathing heavily. They lowered their guns. “Handcuffs.” He looked to the closest cop. “Now.” Gray took the handcuffs from the man and handcuffed his wrist to Jack’s. “Now get me to a hospital.”
