7. how does your character feel about sex?
jamieās a weird one. like he loves sex but itās also not a necessity. yeah, heāll go to a bar and pick people up, and has slept with many a people and been the one to leave after a one night stand, but also? can be so focused on his work, his books, just living life and being home alone that it doesnāt even hit him that other people? are alive? (thatās not to say heāll please himself because he doesnāt. not his thing. he just. stops thinking of sex at all)Ā
but also sex is a very loose thing. it can be rough or it can be soft. he can be top or bottom. any gender. heās pretty flexible (literally, but also in terms of what people need out of him, what they want from the sex, what they like).Ā
heās really good at being what someone wants.Ā
itās when heĀ puts himselfĀ into that things get interesting. but that doesnāt happen often.Ā
8.how many friends does your character have?
also a hard question. jamie technically has friends all over the world. he could walk into a bookshop in a tiny town in some unknown, remote location and have a friend there. itās part of his real job, making connections, but also just who he is? naturally charming, easy to get along with.Ā
heās got two close friends in london, though. leah and carl. leah is the local cafe owner. jamie bought her cafe when it was at risk of being closed after leahās husband left her, and she couldnāt pay the bills andĀ take care of her daughter. he regularly sends her money and frequently stops in to try her new creations, and tell her daughter stories of his travels. when he goes away, she watches the shop and his cat.
carl is another bookshop owner, an older gentleman (sixties) who keeps an ear out for books jamie might want. he knew jamie before he left london for five years, knew jones before he died, and thinks of jamie like a son. when jamie travels, he sends any books he buys back to carl for safe keeping until he returns.Ā
11. for what would your character give their life?
jamie is pretty self-sacrificing, not gonna lie. literally, if it came down to him or something else, anything else, heās putting himself in the way of fire. his shop, his cat, sebastian, his brother, a stranger. doesnāt matter. heās ready to die, and he would much rather he die than someone else.
not saying he wouldnāt try something else first. heāll try talking his way out, heāll try running, maybe even a fight, but if thereās even the smallest chance someone is gonna get hurt, heās throwing himself on the bullet and thatās that.Ā
