Don’t believe me: Listen to the Vide Noir Album and tell me that’s not Ford’s whole life.

Logically, I know they don’t write their songs about Gravity Falls, but the more insane part of my brain likes to pretend they do 😌😇

Specifically their Strange Trails, Vide Noir, The Cosmic Selector Vol 1 albums, and parts of the Long Lost Albums are soooo Gravity Falls coded.

It’s super normal for board artists to draw children with only 4 fingers on each hand because it’s easier to draw, especially on the smaller character models of children (like in the case of Dipper and Mabel), but I LOVE that they let Stan keep a full 5 fingers on each hand even as a kid to show the dichotomy between him and Ford.

Obviously, it would be weird if Stan just magically grew a finger by the time he hit adulthood and Ford has to be drawn with 6 fingers… kinda the whole point, but I just love the attention to detail. They didn’t cut corners for ease, and they made sure the characters had all the details that were important to them.

I know Mabel literally says it in the show, but her name is &NDRA (Ampersand-ra)… because her artist name starts with an ampersand (&)… and it’s like the name Sandra…

I know jokes aren’t funny when they’re explained but no one talks about this! And it makes me laugh every time.

(For any Gravity Falls fan who watch the show in a different language… does this joke translate? Do you have ampersands… or the name Sandra??)

There is a joke in Gravity Falls Season 2 Episode 14 “The Stanchurian Candidate” that I’ve never seen anyone point out (so maybe I’m swinging in left field here), but I picked it up immediately and NO ONE talks about it.

During his presidency, Ronald Reagan was given the nickname “The Great Communicator” because of how well he could deliver speeches in ways that connected with ordinary people.

So when Ford gives Dipper the mind control tie and tells him it was made “for Ronald Reagan’s masters”, it’s implying that Ford/his invention was the reason Reagan was called “The Great Communicator” — because he was being mind controlled and wasn’t actually a great communicator (parallel to Stan in this episode).

😭 maybe this literally isn’t funny to anyone else (or it’s so obvious that I’m stupid for thinking no one noticed), but guys this is so funny.

… please someone tell me they think this joke is funny too. I clocked this immediately and I’ve never heard anyone else point it out.
