Bubble

Bubble is a new(ish) scripted podcast produced by MaximumFun.org (the same people who brought you TAZ). It’s about a girl named Morgan who lives in this town called Fairhaven that is encased by a huge bubble, protecting the inhabitants from the monster-infested Brush. She spends every episode fighting these monsters with her small group of friends. It’s a very light-hearted and funny podcast, that I think many of you will enjoy.

Off Book: The Improvised Musical Podcast

Off Book is an Earwolf Podcast (you may have heard an ad for them after an episode of HFTMT). Every episode is an original, improvised musical that the hosts Jessica McKenna and Zach Reino, along with a guest make up (stars like Jon Cozart, Eliza Skinner, and Paul F. Tompkins have appeared as guests). Each episode is an hour or longer, and every single one of them is guaranteed to make you laugh.

Aaron Mahnke’s Cabinet of Curiosities

You may know Aaron Mahnke from another podcast of his, Lore. While Lore is more based off more creature-type things and the paranormal (I don’t know if that’s the correct way to describe it), Cabinet of Curiosities is more about weird coincidences and interesting events that have happened, though both podcasts have an eerie vibe to them. Each episode (even though there are only 10 out so far) is about 8-10 minutes long.

The Truth

Every episode is basically a short audio movie, every one different from the last. Each ‘movie’ is about 30 minutes or less. My current favorite episode is “Eat Cake.”

The Orbiting Human Circus (of the Air)

I know, this one isn’t really unknown, but it’s not as popular as the other podcasts made by WTNV Presents, such as “Welcome To Night Vale” or “Alice Isn’t Dead.” This podcast is very different. Julian, the janitor at the Eiffel Tower dreams of performing on stage and being a part of the renowned podcast, “The Orbiting Human Circus.” You’ll fall more in love with Julian each episode just like I did. At the end of every episode, a ‘Feature Presentation’ is played, which tells a beautiful story every time. This podcast is truly magical, and I really hope those of you who haven’t listened to it give this one a chance.

2 Dope Queens was made to be funny. Hosts Phoebe Robinson and Jessica Williams host a live comedy show in Brooklyn that is funny, fantastic, and fierce. In each episode you can hear from various comedians, laugh at funny jokes, and listen to silly stories about love, sex, and their experiences as two black women living in America.
