“Ice cream flavors are like children to me, or at least what I imagine some people towards children– I have a hard time choosing a favorite,” Mars admitted to the other. “So we can absolutely get mint chocolate chip. Ben & Jerry’s Baked Alaska pairs so well with it by the way.”

“You know what’s really good?” Grant replied. “Ben & Jerry’s Half Baked, but I’m willing to try mint chocolate chip with Baked Alaska ice cream.”

“Apparently they’re actually like super bad for you or something,” Harvey mentioned. “But that doesn’t stop me from loving them. I mean smush them in between chocolate and a graham cracker? The best s’more you’ve ever had.”

“Super bad for you?” Grant asked, confused. “Why would they be super bad for you?”

“The fact that you just used the words perfect and burnt in the same sentence makes absolutely no sense. Nothing is perfect when it’s burnt,” Lottie countered back. “But I suppose I’ve just got to live with the fact that I have a friend with very strange tastes.”

“Says you,” Grant said with a playful frown. “Don’t knock it until you try it, Darby. Once you have one of my marshmallows, you won’t be able to go back.”

Charlotte frowned as she looked at the other, “Is this you asking me for advice?” She asked, trying not to make a face at the words. “If I’m honest, I don’t think I’m the person you should be asking.”

Grant shrugged slightly at the other’s questions. “If I’m being honest, I’m not sure what I’m trying to do.”

“I do swear. I’ll swear on my own life,” Oscar said, putting his hand to his heart in order to convince the other more. “Right. Noted,” he chuckled. “How will people believe me if I don’t say the other stuff. A fire fairy who is often careless with his magic… I’m not exactly trusted in situations like this.”

“You can say other stuff, just stuff that doesn’t make you look more guilty. It would help to say things that are helpful to you.”

“The assignment has officially been submitted!” Marzia announced, swinging back in her chair rather dangerously. “Let’s do something to celebrate like eat our weight in ice cream or jump into the lake that’s probably still freezing cold right now. On second thought let’s not do the latter idea. But I’m open to any suggestions really. I can stress about the other one I gotta do tomorrow.”

“Hmmm, depends on the ice cream,” Grant replied. “If it’s mint chocolate chip, you can count me in.”

“Yeah but did you see me set fire to that bush? No. You didn’t,” Oscar said, shaking his head and tutting. “So yes, I might have fire powers and yes I’m irresponsible and normally I probably would be the type of person to set a bush on fire, but I swear it wasn’t me this time.”

“Okay, I guess if you swear. Word of advice though, just say that you swear and deny it, because adding that extra stuff kind of makes it seem like you’re trying to cover it up.”

“You’re actually being insane right now,” Lottie huffed. “Burnt sugar is disgusting and such a waste of what otherwise could be a nicely toasted marshmallow. Plus it never ends up gooey on the inside if you just chuck it in. Cold solid mallow in the middle and burnt black shit on the outside.”

“I do not know what you are talking about. I’ve always had the perfect burnt marshmallow, it’s never cold on the inside. You just haven’t held it in the fire for long enough.”
