and i’m painting oceans even though i know what i’m afraid of and pretend i can’t understand it i wonder if i ain’t just circling around again concentration is broken food don’t taste right wasting my time wasting my life on vices i don’t [currently] have any capacity to resist so i sit here and think spirals until i’m in a hurricane and i’m tired but g o d d a m n it’s so hard to stop this

when the world is layers upon layers dark folded over fear folded over knives soaked in mirrors dried with cunning kisses of backroom handshakes served with smiles and assurance it’s all okay it’s okay cling to the bright faces managing to shine through miraculous i wish we were as strong as you at least that’s all i can say wrapped in a blanket hoping the sun can burn just one layer so tomorrow is a little brighter maybe burn enough room for one more face to shine brightly through

and someone tapped out when the room went kinda fuzzy and there were only melodies in your head like lullabies sung in drunken prose “yeah, I’m alright, definitely, for sure, uh, yeah, alright and I’m sorry for, you know being a bit of a...well, heh there was a time when we could sit and watch oh it’s beautiful, the snow and the bouncing light off the clouds into orange glow...” when the mundane is automatic nothing quite stops us in our tracks like those eyes, that deep, that complete, make your heart skip a beat, hold my hand through lightning rod horizons we’ve got to fight with roses in our fists lest there be just nothing nothing here or between at all

Anyone who supported us in making this thing, be it the crowdfunding, or coming to a show, if you purchased one, you now own official Hearing Trees vintage :O They will not be reprinted, at least, not exactly like this. Maybe if we're super famous one day and there's some kind of demand for the first thing Hearing Trees ever did. Thanks for everyone’s support :D Cool stuff from us happening early in the new year ;)
