leslie was already used to this very annoying and very infuriating head shake that seeme to constantly be happening whenever leslie was involved. she constantly wondered if he suffered from neck problems. was that why he was so…. ugh? and leslie knope doesn’t call people ‘ugh’. so this is a big deal.

“ why? because you’re a big fun ruiner who probably grew up without a childhood? do you even know sesame street? ”

leslie smiled to herself, even if it was a horrible comeback. but hey, in leslie’s world? that one song that’s in every vine was playing in her head. even if she didn’t know any of the words.

the song stopped once he finished what he was saying. shabby? was he really making it sound like pawnee wasn’t special? who was this guy?

“ look, listen here big shot. this is my city hall. this is my place. this is my town, my people. just because you probably have never cared about anything this much in your entire life does not make my loving my job, my people, my town, my city hall any less real as you being a pain in the ass! ”

it was true, and she knew it was. you don’t put the two... awkwardestpeople in the closet for seven minutes in heaven because you expectthem to do just what you’re supposed to. and leslie knope was nothingif not determined to never take no for an answer, and to never just sit byduring a challenge.

            okay, so maybe she was... slightly lying.             she was... a little terrifying, when it was             necessary. but to usnavi? never.

and there really was no way to prepare to kiss one of your best friends, you justhad to do it. and do it, she did.

and it was soft, it was sweet. it wasn’t like she thought either of them wouldbe up for anything else. she knew usnavi, he was one of the first people shefelt like she could open up to in new york city. the city wasn’t pawnee, in anyshape and form. his neighborhood was probably the farthest thing from it, yetshe was always calm (as much as leslie, the queen of never being or having chill, could be) as long as she was wherever he was. he was like her homein a place that she didn’t know, no matter how different they were.

she was pretty sure none of that was transferred through her kiss, that was a lot for something so miniscule, and solight. and it was something that she generally never had a problem with saying to most people. leslie loved complimentingpeople, loved telling them how she felt. but sometimes therewas just never good timing. and being in a cramped closetwas not exactly the definition of good timing, or a good place.

and so she pulled away, and she smiled,reaching out to shake a hand through hishair. it really wasn’t that big of a deal, atleast not to her. they’d drank after one-other before, anyways.
