Power Outage?

YOU WERE BILL THE WHOLE TIME?

They’ll choose to ignore her once-over. Confidence wasn’t expected in a café — even a small, lesser-known one like this — but they weren’t about to give her reason to suspect.

“ Not really. Cuttlegear wants me in town twenny-four seven. I don’ get to leave unless I get permission or s’for ambassador-like stuff. ”   Their gaze flicks over to her, half-smile lifting the corner of their mouth, before returning to the window.   “ Sounds nice, but I don’ think I could. Don’tcha get t’ meet all kinds’a people? No one’s caughtcher eye? ”

    “Wow, that sounds like such a drag. I’m sorry.” She lightly taps her fingers on the table. “Sure, I get to meet a lot of people, but it’s overwhelming, y’know? I gotta act all professional and stuff. But I guess there’s just pros and cons to every lifestyle, huh?” A small giggle.

Well, Sonya’s not the worst person that could interrupt a Cuttlegear rendezvous, so… at least not enough of one for Soda to object.

Another sip of their coffee is cover enough for their expression to fall back into neutrality, free hand’s fingers drumming atop the notes they’d been reviewing.   “ Lucky you. Travelling so much, I mean. I thought I’d be doin’ more, myself. ”   A wry smile.   “ Guess it means lotsa gigs, though, huh? ”

Someone forgot to eat today, and it’s taken til now to even register. Whoops.

Would I rather kiss…

Yinnabun, I think. I just know her better--plus we kiss all the time (on the cheek).

But if Soda wants a cheek kiss, too, I’ll give her one.
