no more gendered dress codes. no more gender markers on passports, driver's licenses, ids. i'm not talking about "adding x" or "adding a third category" i'm talking about no more categories, period. why does the government need to know what my genital situation is? why does the government feel the need to assign me a sex on the basis of genitals? why does the cop who pulled me over need to see an m, or an f, or an x?

no more "gender is a social construct, sex is the thing that's binary." sex is not binary. abolish the idea that it is. normalize conversations about intersex traits. being intersex is natural. the sex binary is a thing imposed by the state.

no more gendered sports. if you really care about equity, sort people into categories based on skill level and athleticism, not gender or sex. the concept that there are only two sexes and that one is inherently weaker than the other is pseudoscience. the male/female hunter/gatherer dichotomy is not based in fact, and is a product of modern sexist cultural biases. one gender is not inherently subservient to the other. people are not inherently different on the basis of sex or gender. it is just more complicated than that.

the concept of multiple genders and sexes beyond the man/woman male/female dichotomy has existed as long as humans have existed. the sex binary only serves to benefit the patriarchy. the gender binary only serves to benefit the patriarchy. continuing to impose it just controls (and harms) the people it forcibly categorizes.

Last year I started designing a series of Coat of Arms, themed in the spirit of Pride Month and using different mythological creatures as heraldic animals. I now aim to turn these designs into wearable pins and will be running a Kickstarter in July to fund this endeavor! I have found a very trustworthy local manufacturer, who has already shown the quality of their craftsmanship with the first batch of test pins I received, just look at the detail they were able to produce!

Since I try to support local manufacturers, which produce pins with fair wages and are more ethical than outside of Europe, the pins are more expensive to create than through the usual pipeline via Asia.

I therefore seek to crowdfund the expenses since they would be more than I can afford. to start off, i would like to say that any usage of "you" used in this post is not intended to be personal or an attack to you, specifically. it is used in a general, generic way.

we are privating this blog. it will not be deleted, it will likely come back. but at least until we are in a better mental state, it is going to be privated.

to tell the truth, this blog piled on exam stress has made us suicidal in a way that we have not been since we were 14. it feels, some days, like everyone is looking for ways to attack us. i understand that this is not true, but that does not make the feeling go away.

we are not angry at any specific people - we have done our fair share of mistakes since creating this blog - we just realised that running such a big blog at this point in our life is not conducive to good mental health. we are taking steps to help ourself, because we cannot run this blog at this time.

in future, when we re-open the blog, we ask that people try and assume good faith. we ask that people do not dog-pile onto us or any of our followers. and we ask that people send asks to other blogs as well. we are hardly the only ableism-focused blog, and it is difficult to answer 80 asks a day, vet them all for things we agree or disagree with, highlight the nuance, and add plaintext/descriptions where necessary.

this is not caused by anything or anyone specific. if we find any attacking done on our behalf, we will be blocking, and reporting if necessary. you are not helping.

and, to be clear, we do not want apologies. it is not your fault. it is no ones fault but our own for not taking this step before-hand. we appreciate all of you for your support, when given, and we are glad we built a community, even if we have to step back.

and please, remember that despite the plural pronouns, we are still one body, with our own disabilities. be nice, okay?
