There’s a special place in Hell for people who do this to the Trans community
For some reason, any time I see people who say that they "hate men" almost always turns out that their hatred only impacts already marginalized man. Like, they will playfully say that they hate white cis guys, sure. But they won't bully them, they probably won't send them death threats. Idk it's irks me, just say you're bigoted but only in one direction .
"i hate men" oh that's cool. so you're upset at how the patriarchal structures of modern societies define "the Correct Gender" to be one single group, that group being a special class of people that not only must be born with very specific sex characteristics, a certain skin tone, a certain sexuality, and no disabilities of any kind, but also must maintain a certain gender and expectations that surround that gender, must never become disabled, must never belong to a wide community, and must be abusive towards the people around them? and that when many people do not or cannot fall into this group, they are outcast and deemed unworthy, with each undesirable trait by the patriarchal society being a negative social "point" against them? and how in order to break down this oppressive structure, those oppressed by it must fight to claim their rightful place as equals?
oh? no? you just think black men are violent perpetrators of abuse and trans men are whiny fake transes who should shut up and know their place? ok

it makes me so sad seeing people in my life who tell me they think they might be trans but they’re too scared to confront that reality because the transgender experience just seems to be filled with terror and misery. trans people please never stop talking about the joys of being transgender. please never stop talking about your excitement and joy and happiness. maybe you think that the trans experience is all doom and gloom, too. I promise it’s not. focus on the joy and you will feel better I promise.
I don't know if anyone has heard of the Trans Period Pride situation that happened a short while ago, but it has shown me why advocacy is important for all of us and how we are affected in different ways within the community.
Fo those who do not know, there was an event organizaed in Boston called Trans Period Pride which was made to give resources and information to those within the community who bleed. It was supposed to help give advice and care to transmasc folks, nonbinary folks and trans men while being inclusive and supportive of trans folks.
But Fox news and other conservatives caught wind of it and got extremely upset to the point the organizers having to cancel the initial event (they ended up rescheduling it). Why? Because they assumed it was for trans women, and got upset about trans women "claiming to bleed and have periods". Mind you, in no way did the organizers hint that this event was catered towards trans women, but because conservatives can't use their brains and their phones to function properly, they assumed it was an event for trans women.
On one hand, there's clear blatant transmisogyny and transphobia directed at trans women. When ever people see trans, the only thing they know or care much for are trans women and transfems, they direct all their hate at them which is the horrible impact of hypervisibility. People choose not to care for or understand trans folks, and only latch on to what they don't like.
On the other hand, there's anti-transmasculinity, transphobia and erasure directed at nonbinary folks and trans men. Because many of these people didn't even realize trans men existed in the first place, didn't care to know and went ahead and nearly caused the removal of an event that could benefit the lives of transmasculine people and trans men. Some of these people DID know we existed and still hated the fact that we "co-opted" their experience as cis women. Some mentioned us only as a tool to further attack trans women. And all this behaviour ended in them harassing the organizers. I'm glad they still decided to schedule the event, but there are instances like this where they don't put it back up. And tras men/transmascs/nonbinary folks who have limited support or information on things like this have little to nowhere to go that would accept them.
This is an example of what discrimination can look like for the trans folks within the community; trans women and transfems get attacked at the forefront which leads to harm, harassment public surveillance, and even death. Anyone else gets treated the same while being stripped from access to support and care, and ignored when struggling as a result by folks both in and out of the community. And at times we even have overlapping experiences, but erasure and dismissal is far too prevalent in transmasc's/ trans men's spaces and nonbinary ones too.
And I'm glad that there's been a growing conversation on the erasure of transmascs and trans men in advocacy, in the community, and in media. We need to center trans women in the advocacy of trans rights, we also need to center trans men and nonbinary folks as well because we are all being horribly impacted by this in different ways, under different stats.
This really is a time to come together and fight, and to remember each and everyone of us are important in this conversation.
This is an incredible example of why I hate when discussions about transmasc erasure and transfem hypervisibility are pitted against each other. Both are intensely harmful to the community and are weaponized against us by people who do not want us to exist. Engaging in "which is worse" debates are only dividing us as a community in a time when our very existence is being criminalized. It saddens me to see intercommunity division when it's more important than ever focus on listening to each others' unique trans experiences and lifting each other up.
Happy pride to all my trans siblings. Stay safe <3

“Why do Americans not simply overthrow their government?”
Well have you ever tried to overthrow the American government? Why aren’t you doing it if it’s so easy, wise guy?
Also given the state of the country right now the people who do take over after the smoke clears are uncomfortably likely to be fascists anyways.
The people in this country right now that are willing and crazy enough to attempt an overthrow of the US government already tried and failed, if you’ve somehow blocked January 6, 2021 from your memory. Somebody died during their attempt, actually.

"We're not saying trans men experience no oppression, but they are privileged over trans women because oppression against trans men isn't as severe as against trans women." Even if we took this argument as true- it's not- it would still be a misuse of the word "privilege." Privilege isn't "being less oppressed." Privilege is "benefitting from the oppression of another group." Trans men don't benefit from transphobia, misogyny, or transmisogyny; they are victimized by the former two, and the latter is a combination of the former two things that victimize them. Trans men are not privileged over trans women, even if we were to concede that they weren't "as oppressed" as trans women.
What's the deal with so many grown men calling themselves "tboy"s? Is that not degrading and infantalizing to you?
its a reclaimnation thing for me how some trans people might call themselves tranny. but i recognize that its often used as a derogatory term and i would not be/am not ok with EVERYONE calling me tboy. to a lot of people like its trans man to you
