“No I am not.” I said, rolling my eyes to him, “I’ve told you not to call me that.”

“What do you think I mean when I call you beautiful? Its not just because you have the brightest smile, or the most expressive eyes, or because your lips are my favourite flavour, or your body that’s so perfect like a goddess. Darling, I call you beautiful because your thoughts are deeper than the ocean, your mind is darker than these moonless nights and yet has way more stars than this space above us and your voice almost touches me, soothing my mind, making me forget everything, as if I am intoxicated. Your ability to express yourself with your all too simple words, is a different kind of beauty altogether. Everytime you hold a pen or a pencil, it’s only beauty that flows out of those delicate fingers, sometimes as words, other times as sketches. I am sure there’s no word to describe you, maybe beautiful isn’t actually the right word for what you are, for what I see when I look at you and I am sorry for not having too many words I am a useless man in love, no poet, no writer.

Believe me I am not too fond of bodies either, an impediment, some days I feel like.. it’s insane, but somedays I wanna bite right into your soft skin, hoping to get a taste of that beautiful soul.. somedays when we make love, I want to touch more than your skin..”

Trauma takes a heavy toll on the body's energy reserves. To constantly be in a state of fight, flight, fawn, freeze, to be stressed out so often and so hard, it's exhausting.

And when you're that tired, even the most minor of tasks feel like scaling a mountain.

You aren't lazy, you're struggling. You're fighting against the toll your trauma takes.
