I am BEYOND EXCITED to run my fourth Chicago Marathon, and this one is extra meaningful because I have such a great opportunity to give back to my community through fundraising. Let’s come together to support those who are living with and vulnerable to HIV. Let’s end the stigma around HIV/AIDS 👏🏻

Accidentally manually lapped my watch with 3 miles left, so now all my stats are wonky (aside from the overall time and average pace on my workout overview) 🤷🏻‍♀️

It was soggy, I was running laps of my normal route for weekday runs, I’m tired ✌🏻

But we got it done ✅🏃🏻‍♀️

It’s supposed to rain tomorrow, pretty much all morning, and it’s up in the air if my training team will be meeting for a long run 😭

They’ll send out an update at 5am tomorrow, and from there I guess I’ll decide if I’m pushing my run to Sunday or running near my house if it gets canceled. My preference is to still get out and run tomorrow, since we’re going to Lollapalooza tomorrow (and I don’t want to run on Sunday after that if it’s not absolutely necessary).

But alas! I will do whatever is smartest and safest, but really hoping for decent enough weather to run tomorrow 🤞🏻 also willing to run later in the morning when the rain is projected to lighten up to still get it in tomorrow.

If my training group is on for tomorrow, I’ll head out and run with them! If they cancel, I’ll shut my alarm off, sleep until 8 or so, and then get out the door by 9 and run on my own. The rain is supposed to get lighter later in the morning, so it’ll be soggy, but hopefully not torrential.

Part of me is just hoping it gets canceled so I can get some extra sleep 😅

We’re currently postponed to 8am and I’m BEYOND excited for a little extra sleep in the morning 🙌🏻 should know by 7 if we’re still on, and if the answer is no, I’ll stick to my plan of running close to home a little later.

I guess we shall see!

It’s about 6:30am and it’s POURING. I’m very much contemplating going back to sleep and waking up in a bit to run on my own when the rain lightens up because there’s something sick about going and driving in the pouring rain to run, only to have to get my soggy ass back in the car to drive home after.

I know parts of where I run near home will be a bit flooded, and I also need to get in 12 miles, but I would rather figure that out than whatever comes along with literally driving to get soaked.

I wish they would give us their call earlier than an hour ahead of time right now because I tend to leave 45 minutes before we start running and I don’t want to get up and start moving only to find out it gets canceled.

So I guess I’m making my own executive decision to run by myself today 🤷🏻‍♀️
