I DO NOT write romantic reactions for Codsworth, Strong or Dogmeat. (I donât know if I had to include Dogmeat in this, like no one would ask for that right... RIGHT???) Iâll only include Longfellow for romantic reactions if specifically requested, but nothing smutty.
Iâve decided to stop doing both romanced and non-romanced reactions in the same request (unless you specifically ask for it). If you want the reaction to be of the companions when romanced, please make that clear. If you just say âcompanions react to...â Iâll write them platonic. (added on 10/27/2023)
I prefer to only write for the companions. If you want me to include an NPC, go ahead and ask, but I canât guarantee you Iâll do it. It really depends on the NPC and the sort of request. (Except Sturges, I will not write for Sturges)
Which topics are off limit? Really hard to say because it depends on what the request exactly is. For example, I wonât write a reaction where Sole or the companions are abusive to one another, but Iâd write a reaction to Sole telling the companions they used to be in an abusive relationship. So saying that I wonât write anything related to abuse would be incorrect. Iâd advise you to just send in your request and if Iâm okay with it Iâll write it.
I might not write your request, even if Iâm completely comfortable with what you requested, in case I donât feel like Iâd be able to do justice to the request. Like if I feel like I donât know the companions well enough to write something believable, but then Iâll definitely let you know, and you can then tell me whether youâd still want the reaction to be written or not.

Sole getting caught by Hancock by pickpocketing him or stealing his caps which leads to a misunderstanding as sole gets turned on by the thrill of the situation which Hancock didn't know about.
Thank you for requesting! I'm not too happy with how this turned out, but my god this request has been in my inbox for literal years so it was about time I answered it. Sorry it took me forever!
It was a random Tuesday evening. You and Hancock had just gotten back to Goodneighbor to check how the place was holding up without their mayor present. Hancock had gone off to talk to some of the more important people in town while you decided to just hang out in the Old State House. You were tired from traveling and your legs were heavy, but you werenât sure about sleeping arrangements. Before Hancock became one of your traveling buddies, youâd stay in Hotel Rexford whenever you spent the night in Goodneighbor. You werenât sure how things would go tonight, so the only thing you could do was wait for the mayor to return from his business talks. In the meantime, you were walking around the second floor, checking out the decorations of the place while twirling a canister of jet in your hand. However, suddenly a hand wrapped around your wrist and with a hard tug your body spun around to your captor: Mayor Hancock himself. Took him long enough.Â
âWhatâs that you got in your hand, sunshine?â the ghoul asked, his voice low and raspy.Â
You didnât notice yet that something was up.Â
âJust some jet,â you answered plainly.Â
âSome jet that doesnât belong to you.âÂ
Your eyes narrowed slightly. Was he pissed? Sure, you found the jet on his coffee table but you didnât see the problem. He frequently gave you chems while traveling so why would this be any different? However, you also didnât mind angering him.Â
âOf the people, for the people, right?â You mocked him.Â
Hancock chuckled, and your heart jumped in your chest.Â
You and Hancock had a strange relationship. At first, you didnât really like him. The way he towered over people from his balcony, and rewarded them with free chems for answering simple questions as if they were dogs doing tricks he taught them rubbed you the wrong way. So when Bobbi tricked you into raiding Hancockâs strongroom, you stuck with her. You thought youâd no longer be welcome in Goodneighbor after killing Fahrenheit, but Hancock was strangely chill about it. That was when your dynamic changed: He ordered you to kill Bobbi. It was intimidating, threatening even. But it was the first time you understood why people were attracted to him. Youâve been traveling together ever since and unfortunately, you never saw that side of him again, until now maybe?
âYou know damn well I donât tolerate people stealing from me. Now if this was your first offense against me, Iâd let it go, but itâs not, is it? Canât have this turning into a habit.âÂ
Your heart was racing now.Â
âSo what will you do about it?â You said it in a challenging way, but you were full-on ready to obey his every command.Â
âGood question.â Hancock took the jet from your hand and created some distance between you two. He leaned against the couch and crossed his arms over his chest, his gaze was stuck on you. âHow about some community work, huh? Heard Daisy could use help dealing with some bigots.â
Community work??? If this was a movie scene, the music would now be cut off abruptly by a record scratch.Â
âYouâre joking,â you deadpanned.Â
âIâm not. Now get out of my sight.âÂ
You didnât move, however. Stubbornly, you crossed your arms over your chest and pulled your eyebrows up at him. âAnd what if I refuse?â
Hancock chuckled and looked down to the ground. Your heart was racing, anticipating his every move. You knew youâd be in real danger if you pissed him off too much, but this entire argument was about 1 canister of jet, so you were pretty sure it wasnât going to escalate. âIâm tired, sweetheart. Letâs not do this.âÂ
âCome on, Hancock, itâs one canister of jet that I didnât even use. Youâre the one making a big deal out of this.âÂ
âYou know what, youâre right,â he said. No. No, no, no. âI guess I really am tired. Iâll let it go this time, just donât do it again.âÂ
You almost sighed out loud. This was not how it was supposed to go⌠Guess youâd have to steal from him againâŚÂ
A few days passed. The two of you were still in Goodneighbor and random chems kept mysteriously disappearing from Hancockâs stash. Of course, he suspected you, but you deliberately had been sneaky about it to rile him up.Â
Now it was finally time to let him catch you. You took some jet - as that was the chem that had started this all - and kept it in your pockets to use at the perfect time. That time was now: You were hanging around Hancockâs bedroom, door wide open, and had just heard him come up the stairs.Â
âAre you deliberately trying to piss me off?âÂ
You turned to Hancock who was leaning against the door post with his arms crossed over his chest. You had just taken a hit and let out a relieved exhale before throwing the empty canister of jet to the ground.Â
âI donât know what youâre talking about.âÂ
Hancock chuckled lowly and pushed himself away from the doorpost, after which he started to approach you. Your heart was racing in your chest. This time, you couldnât screw up.
âWhich part of âdonât steal from meâ is too hard for you to understand, sweetheart?âÂ
âOh you said âdonâtâ? I mustâve misunderstood,â Your tone was dripping with dishonesty. âThought you were all about sharing.âÂ
âDo we have a problem here?â It wasnât clear if it was supposed to sound threatening or if he genuinely wondered if things had gone south between you two. But one thing was obvious: He still wasnât catching on.Â
âA problem? Us? I donât think so,â you said innocently. Then you took a step towards him. Your bodies were almost touching now and you let one of your hands rest on his chest. You were done being subtle. You thought heâd figure things out quickly, but so far it had failed so it was time to just make things plain obvious. âBut it seems youâve been having trouble with some chem thief. You should do something about that.âÂ
Hancock hummed. "And seeing as you're always so helpful, I'm sure you've got some suggestions for handling this thief?"
You bit your lip and let your hand slowly travel down his body. Though you were behaving confidently, deep down you were a nervous wreck. "I guess you could punish them."
You could see it in his eyes: a sudden realization. He had finally put two and two together, but his reaction wasnât what you had anticipated. You thought heâd get a bit cocky, instead, his nickname for you quietly left his mouth and he took a step back. Or well, he tried to, but your hand that was now close to his abdomen took hold of his shirt and pulled him back. âDonât you dare back off now,â you growled lowly. âI keep trying to piss you off because itâs hot as fuck, but you keep forgiving me.â
Hancock chuckled. âWhat can I say? It seems I just have a soft spot for you.â Then he turned serious. âYou sure you want this, sweetheart?âÂ
You nodded eagerly. âPlease.â
âEver been with a ghoul before?â
âWhatâs it matter? I-â
âWe look different.â
âIâm aware,â you said with a small smirk and raised eyebrows but it clearly didnât set him at ease.Â
âEverywhere, Sole.âÂ
âOkay, let me spell it out for you: I. Want. You. That clear enough?âÂ
Hancock let out a small chuckle. âFine. But you suddenly change your mind? I do something you donât like? You tell me, okay? Weâll stop immediately.âÂ
âOkay. Now can you please go back to threatening me?â
How would the companions react to seeing a pre-war picture of Sole (maybe a wedding photo?) and realizing Sole lost a lot of weight sinceâ and not a healthy amount, like going from muscular to thin?
Hello! Thank you for your request. I know you sent this in ages ago, so I am even more sorry to now have to tell you that I won't be writing this.
I've been staring at the request for days, contemplating how I'd handle this while I was writing some other requests and I just don't know how to approach this. Weight is a sensitive topic to a lot of people and I don't want to accidentally end up body shaming someone while trying to come up with different ways for the companions to react.
How would the companions react to Little Lamplight and Mayor Maccready?
Thanks for requesting!
Cait:
Little Lamplight: âIt may seem cruel for these children to have to live like this but⌠I think I would prefer this over my own childhood, you know?âÂ
MacCready: âNot a hope that this little shithead and MacCready are the same person! Way too polite, that bloke.âÂ
Codsworth:
Little Lamplight: âA society run by children? Oh mum/sir, I donât dare imagine little Shaun having to grow up in a place like this.âÂ
MacCready: âOh dear, such hostility from a child? I suppose I canât expect anything different. These poor kids never had any proper adult guidance! Sir/mum, I propose we send a Ms Nanny their way!âÂ
Curie:
Little Lamplight: âOh, this is just horrible! No child should have to survive in these conditions! Isnât there anything we can do to help them?âÂ
MacCready: âSuch vulgarity! Has no one got manners anymore in this world?âÂ
Danse:
Little Lamplight: âLook what the war did to these children! This is yet more proof of why technology in the hands of the wrong people can have devastating consequences!âÂ
MacCready: âThe exact attitude one would expect from someone whoâd grow up to be a mercenary.â (Mac: âWhatâs that supposed to mean??â)Â
Deacon:
Little Lamplight: âA parentless life is a sad reality for many children in the wastes. However morbid this may look, theyâve been managing well.â
MacCready: Deacon will try to convince mayor MacCready that heâs just a really tall child. On top of that, he will forever call adult MacCready âmungoâ and make up countless different reasons for how he knows that term.
Gage:
Little Lamplight: âInteresting set-up. I guess theyâre pretty safe here from outside threats, except - you know - the gigantic green monsters next door.â (insert sarcasm)
MacCready: âKid, you have no idea the kind of company Iâve had to deal with all these years. You wanna rile me up? Then stray away from your vanilla boring ass insults âcause I ainât impressed.âÂ
Hancock:
Little Lamplight: âHuh, cozying up right next to a super mutant den? Either these kids are incredibly brave or incredibly stupid. Probably an unhealthy mix of both.âÂ
MacCready: âSo this is the origin story of our favorite mercenary? Hm, Iâll admit, almost as good as mine.âÂ
Longfellow:
Little Lamplight: Longfellow wonât say anything, but a profound sadness washes over him at the sight in front of him. If somewhere deep down he still had hope for the world, it was now for sure fully taken away.
MacCready: âYoungsters these daysâŚâÂ
MacCready:
âAhh the good old times.âÂ
Nick:
Little Lamplight: âI canât tell if Iâm more impressed by their tenacity, or more disappointed that they need it to survive.âÂ
MacCready: âWell, behind every hardened mercenary, there is some kind of tragic backstory, isnât there?â He sighs. âMaybe Iâve been too hard on the kid.âÂ
Piper:
Little Lamplight: âOh god⌠Iâve always known the Wasteland was hard but⌠these are children. They should be getting raised by two loving parents not living like⌠this.â
MacCready: Piperâs always known MacCready as a chill mercenary who tries a bit too hard to flirt with her. Sheâs never paid much attention to him, but seeing him as a child living in these circumstances, she suddenly finds herself looking at him in a completely different light.Â
Preston:
Little Lamplight: âThis is why we have to bring back the Minutemen! Children deserve to grow up in a safe place, not hiding out in a cave.â
MacCready: âDamn⌠With how chill he is, youâd never guess he had this kind of childhood. Certainly explains why heâs so good at his job though.âÂ
Strong:
Little Lamplight: âNot safe for small human! Brother smash small human!âÂ
MacCready: âSmall human talk too much!âÂ
X6-88:
Little Lamplight: âAnd here I thought Iâd already seen the worst of the surface.âÂ
MacCready: âInteresting. Somehow the child version seems tougher than the adult.â
I just found your blog, it's really cool you're doing this!
Anyway, how do you think the companions would react to Sole being seriously injured/nearly dying?
Thanks for requesting! Sorry it took me so long to write this.
Cait: âShit, shit, shit! You better not die on me, Sole!â sheâll curse while picking you up from the ground and hauling you over to the nearest doctor she can find. She will threaten and beat up anyone to get you the help you need as fast as possible.Â
Codsworth: âSir/Mum, please hold on!â Codsworth will frantically try any sort of first aid he can to stabilize you. He wonât admit it to himself, but he is not optimistic about your survival chances because his Mr. Handy body does not allow him to pick you up and get you help. Heâll have to find a way to get help to you and that will take double the amount of time.Â
Curie: Curie will be the most calm and collected. Being a doctor, she has experience patching people up and she knows panicking will only make things worse. With Curie by your side, you are in good hands. Sheâll do whatever she can with the current equipment she has and once you are stabilized she will bring you to either a hospital or a friendly settlement to nurse you back to health completely.Â
Danse: Danse might freeze for a second. Instinctively, he recalls Brotherhood protocol but he hesitates because he also knows how harsh that protocol can be. You are not just any soldier, youâre you, and no part of him is willing to risk you dying just because the protocol doesnât care for your survival as much as he does. So instead, heâll forgo protocol, forgo the mission in general if necessary and bring you to safety.Â
Deacon: âItâs just a flesh wound. Carrington will patch you right up,â is what he tells you to keep you calm, but he himself does not believe it. Your condition is a lot more severe than he is letting on and he has to try hard not to openly panic. Luckily, Deacon knows his way around the Commonwealth pretty well, so heâll pick you up and take the fastest and safest way back to HQ, all the while cracking some lighthearted jokes to keep you smiling.Â
Gage: Raiders are mostly not known for their medical skills. The lifestyle Gage chose is one where death is accepted. However, raiders often also stock up on drugs. He himself is not a fan of it, but he does know where others hide their caches around Nuka World. So heâll give you some buffout and med-x, and then haul you over to the nearest doctor after which he goes off on his own for a bit. Gage normally doesnât care when others die, but seeing you close to death made him panic, which made him realize that heâs grown attached to you. He is not sure how he feels about that and needs some time alone to reflect.Â
Hancock: First and foremost, Hancock will get you to safety and bring you to a doctor for help. Heâll stay really calm during this. He wonât show you how he feels and heâll just focus on reassuring you with comforting words. However, he also wonât stick around when the doctor is treating you because he will be hellbent on getting revenge on the people who dared to hurt you. âYouâre in good hands here, Sunshine. I have to go take care of something.âÂ
Longfellow: âTold you the island would eat you alive,â he mumbled while dragging you back to the doctor in Far Harbor. Longfellow hasnât gotten attached to someone in a long time, and even though he likes your company, he always kept himself shielded. Of course, he hopes that youâll pull through, but heâs not panicked or upset. Most people die in the fog, so why not you too?Â
MacCready: Mac is a survivor. Heâs been fighting since he was a little kid and heâs found himself in countless hazardous situations. Therefore, MacCready is wise enough to not go out without some healing supplies on hand. Still, he panics seeing someone he cares for so dangerously hurt, and will fumble around looking for a stimpak in his backpack, finally emptying all its contents out onto the ground to find it more easily. Â
Nick: âI ainât gonna lie kid, itâs not looking good. How are you feeling? You think you can walk?â Nick has lived a long life - even if doesnât see all of his memories as his own -, heâs lost a lot of people and in his line of work a happy ending is mostly not the outcome. That doesnât mean that he doesnât care or that he wonât try everything he can to save you, it just means heâs good at staying calm and collected during these kinds of situations.Â
Piper: âYouâre not going to die out here, Sole! I promise!" Piper will quickly administer a stim, then put your arm over her shoulder and drag you to the nearest doctor. Sheâll try to remain calm but small things give away that sheâs panicking, like having trouble aiming her gun right at enemies along the way, and losing her temper at every obstacle you encounter.Â
Preston: âCome on, general! You can pull through!â Preston will be terrified of losing you. While carrying you to the closest doctor around, heâll still beg anyone he meets along the way for help.Â
Strong: âHuman fight well! Now die like warrior.â Â
X6-88: âThe Institute needs you, sir/maâam.â Heâll administer a stimpak and will then ask you to teleport back to the institute for further treatment.

I've updated the guidelines for requesting. I've included that I'd like anyone who requests to specify whether they want the companions to be romanced or not because doing them both takes so long and sometimes I'm not even sure if there would be much difference.
So if you don't include 'Romanced companions' or some equivalent of this, I'll write the reaction with Sole and the companion having a platonic relationship. Maybe all of you already make your requests like this, but I just wanted to communicate this clearly :)
companions react to sole breaking down crying in their arms
A/N: A lot of these boil down to "they try to comfort you," so apologies for not being very creative.
Cait:
Not-romanced: Â Cait will be surprised and feel awkward about the situation. Every instinct in her body is telling her to push you away and give a rude remark, but you are friends, and you have always been there for her when she needs you, so she sucks it up and hugs you. It takes her a few minutes to ask you whatâs wrong, and she cringes internally at the heartfelt gesture because it is so foreign to her.Â
Romanced: So surprised that she canât even think about what would be weird and what would be good to do or say. She just reacts on instinct. Luckily for Sole, her instinct around them is to protect them, not herself. âHey, hey, whatâs wrong?â Sheâll be curious and worried, but wonât push you into telling her anything.Â
Codsworth: (since itâs impossible or at least really awkward to hug Codsworth, this one is just breaking down in front of him crying) Codsworth will panic. He cannot handle sadness well so heâll try to cheer you up by offering various beverages or food. When that doesnât work, heâll finally stop and communicate with you. âOh sir/mum, what can I do to make you feel better?âÂ
Curie:
Not-romanced and romanced (I could not really envision it being different): Curie is not that good with emotions yet, so you being so open with them will shock her, but sheâll admire you even more for it. âOh dear, you must be feeling a whole whirlwind of emotions for you to cry this much!â Curie will, of course, hug you back, but she will feel awkward and insecure about her ability to comfort you. She doesn't even understand most of the emotions she herself experiences. How is she supposed to make you - the expert in her eyes - feel better?Â
Danse:
Not-romanced: Danse will freeze for a second before hesitantly hugging you back. Everything inside of him screams that this is inappropriate, that he is your superior, and any kind of physical touch is wrong, even if it is just to comfort you. But another part of him knows your relationship isnât just based on rank. Youâre friends, so heâll bite his tongue and let you cry until your eyes are dry. He wonât say anything in the meantime, but when you are done, he will ask for an explanation as to what is going on.
Romanced: He wonât show you, but he is panicking, and heâll continue to panic until you tell him everything that is bothering you. He will hug you tightly and try his best to comfort you, but he will mostly listen instead of trying to give advice.Â
Deacon:
Non-romanced: Out of the fight-flight-freeze reactions, Deacon is a person who flees. Thatâs why he lies and makes up new identities. Being close to someone scares him, as does the friendship you two share. So, when you walk up to him and break down in his arms, he will unfortunately push you away. He doesnât do it intentionally; itâs an automatic reaction to anyone seeking any sort of intimacy with him. He instantly regrets it too. âShit, Iâm sorry,â heâll say upon seeing your surprised eyes. He internally debates whether he should tell you how uncomfortable he is with physical touch, but he can see that you need him right now, so instead heâll close the distance again and hug you. âSorry. Letâs forget about that, okay? Tell me whatâs wrong.âÂ
Romanced: No questions asked, he hugs you tightly and places gentle kisses on your head. He will lay the two of you down so you can cry as long as you need to in a more comfortable position. Heâll hide how much your breakdown scares him, and will try to redirect his thoughts elsewhere (as long as youâre not ready to talk). After a while, heâll start to absentmindedly run his fingers through your hair and over your back.Â
Gage:
Non-romanced: If you do it in public, where the gangs can see you, he might shoot you. So, you better just do it somewhere private like on Fizztop Mountain. However, even if you do it in private, Gage wonât be comforting. Heâll push you away and curse in annoyance upon seeing your tears. âFor fuckâs sake! You crying on me now, Boss? Youâve got to be kidding me.â Gage will be ashamed of you. You are the boss of a gigantic raider operation and here you are in front of him, crying. That is not an acceptable thing to do. Get angry, scream, kill, vandalize! There are many ways to express your emotions and crying is not one of them! Even if you are friends, he will not be open to hear you out as long as you are crying.Â
Romanced: Gage wonât push you away, but he is still uncomfortable with openly showing weakness. Even if it is the two of you towards each other. He wonât be able to stand the silence as you are crying and sobbing, so heâll make some suggestions of other things you can do instead of crying. âCome on, letâs shoot some ghouls in Kiddie Kingdom. Always fun to get those suckers, right?â âHeard another poor bastard got stuck in the Gauntlet, how about we make his day even worse, huh?â If you do not react to his suggestions, heâll eventually quiet down.Â
Hancock:
Non-romanced: âHey, Sunshine, whatâs gotten you so down?â Will hug you back tightly and not let go until you yourself signal that you want out of the embrace. Hancock will instantly communicate with you to support you as well as possible. âTell me what you want me to do here, sweetheart.â Do you need him to just hold you and listen? Do you want him to try and cheer you up? Anything you say goes.Â
Romanced: The same as non-romanced, just with a lot more affection. Heâll mumble words of affection, compliments and praises in your ear.Â
Longfellow:Â
Will be awkward with the physical affection. He can understand needing a shoulder to cry on, but his shoulder hasnât been used in a long time and he knows he is not the best person to comfort others. âKid, I know you ainât got a lot of friends on the island, but Iâm afraid you still chose the wrong person to come to.â Of course, his words wonât do anything, itâs not like youâre gonna try and find someone else to comfort you while you are experiencing a literal breakdown, so heâll stick with you, but will remain awkwardly silent. After a while, heâll get used to the sound of you crying and heâll go back to just being himself: grumbling to himself and humming some songs.
Â
MacCready:
Non-romanced: Heâll be surprised when you suddenly crash into him crying, and a bit awkward - he was just a hired gun, this was not what he signed up for. But his worry will be bigger than his annoyance so he wonât make any insensitive remarks until after youâre done crying and heâll only do that jokingly, to lighten the mood.Â
Romanced: So so worried. âHey, whatâs wrong?â When you donât talk and just cry, his concern will only grow. âCome on, Sole, talk to me. Youâre worrying me, sweetheart. Say something, please.â
Nick:
Non-romanced: âThere you go, kid, just let it all out.â Nick will hug you back as gently as possible with his outdated synth body. He wonât say much, heâll just let you cry and vent if you need to. Only if you signal that you are done will he talk and try to give advice as far as that is possible.Â
Romanced: The same as non-romanced but he wonât hesitate to hold you tight.Â
Piper:
non-romanced and romanced: Piper will feel really bad to see you like this. She will hug you tightly and try to reassure you. âHey, shh, itâs okay. Iâm here, just tell me whatâs going on.âÂ
Preston:
Non-romanced: Preston will be so awkward. Heâll have no idea how to handle this so heâll just quietly hug you until youâve calmed down. Only when he feels like you are not too emotional anymore will he dare to speak up. âHey⌠wanna talk about it?âÂ
Romanced: Less awkward, but he still wonât know what to say because heâs afraid heâll make it worse or annoy you.Â
Strong:
Has no concept of what affection is. Heâll assume youâre trying to brawl with him and heâll simply throw you on the ground.Â
X6-88:
Non-romanced: Will push you away and will not be sympathetic towards your feelings. âThis seems highly inappropriate.â âIf you really need to waste your time on this, I suggest you do it when youâre in human company.âÂ
Romanced: Still unsympathetic, but he cares enough this time to keep his mouth shut. So heâll just silently embrace you. Unless you take too long, then he will suddenly and dryly suggest you stop crying so the two of you can keep going.Â
companions react to sole breaking down crying in their arms
A/N: A lot of these boil down to "they try to comfort you," so apologies for not being very creative.

[Trigger Warning-Suicide] How would romanced male companions react to walking into A female Sole about to kill themselves?
Trigger warning!! Read at your own discretion. If you are thinking about committing suicide, please talk to someone you trust, call the suicide hotline of your country and/or go visit your doctor or a psychologist. If you want to talk to me about it, you are always welcome to send me a message.
Fact about suicide: Most people who are suicidal don't actually want to die, they just don't know how else to make it stop. Talk to someone, there are people who can help!
A/N: I don't think all characters would go for a careful approach (like Gage), so I wrote them the way I think they'd react, even if that might be the exact opposite of what a suicidal person needs at the moment. Please, keep in mind that this is fictional: even if I made the companions successful in talking down Sole, I myself don't know how best to approach someone who is suicidal so some/most/all of their reactions may not be effective or appropriate. Also, I am under no illusion that talking someone down from suicide is this easy or that it will always have the desired outcome, but again this is fictional.
Danse
Pre-BB: His soldier instincts will kick in. All he sees is someone about to die. His brain doesnât yet recognize that youâre doing it to yourself, so he will forcefully stop you in order to save you, only fully realizing whatâs going on once he sees your distraught face. Heâll look at you in shock, unable to get any words out. Then heâll just move in closer and hug you tightly, letting you cry in his arms. Heâll bring you over to Cade whether you want to or not and stay with you the entire time, holding your hand.Â
Post BB: Panics. He will desperately try to talk you down from what youâre doing but he wonât approach you, scared that heâll push you over the edge by doing so. Heâll cry and beg you not to do it, telling you that he needs you and suddenly an overwhelming feeling of guilt overcomes him. Youâve been piecing him together all this time while you yourself were strugglingâŚÂ
Deacon
Freezes. It takes him a few moments to just simply say your name, grabbing your attention.Â
âSole, what are you doing?âÂ
His heart is beating loudly in his chest, heâs terrified to say anything because he has no idea what might push you over the edge.Â
âI canât do it anymore, Deacon,â you cry and it breaks his heart.Â
How had he never noticed that you were struggling? How was he so oblivious? With everything youâve been through, it was to be expected, and yet⌠it had never once crossed his mind.Â
And now heâs panicking. âLook, I know Iâm not the most sensitive guy, I-Iâm not the right person to talk to about feelings and all that, but Iâm here for you. You can talk to me, please talk to meâŚâÂ
You hesitate for a few seconds, but you nod and break down in his arms. Deacon will try his hardest to comfort you during the next hours until youâve fallen asleep, upon which he will immediately run to Carrington begging for help.Â
Gage
Gage will be scared, but heâs so used to hiding it behind anger and annoyance that he canât help but do the same even during a sensitive situation like this.Â
âYou better not go through with that,â he says almost threateningly. âYou wanna commit suicide? You can still do that tomorrow, next week, or literally any other time! But if you do it now, youâll never be able to see or talk to me again and you owe me an explanation if youâre gonna pull this shit on me!âÂ
Miraculously, his speech guilts you enough to make you stop - which isnât something heâs particularly proud of or anything, but hey at least it worked. He instantly has his arms around you and wonât let you out of his sight for days while simultaneously arranging for the gang leader of your choice to temporarily take over as Overboss so he can take you back to the Commonwealth and get you some help.Â
Hancock
Hancock has seen some stuff in Goodneighbor. It's a rough life and you aren't the first one to try and end things. That also means heâs seen multiple attempts by others to talk these people down, some of which failed. He isnât going to take that chance with you.Â
He has his arms around you before you even knew he was there and he holds you tightly against him so youâre unable to do anything anymore.Â
âWhat do you think youâre doing?â he growls in your ear. He doesn't mean to sound angry, but much like Gage he was scared and too used to masking his fear. However, he instantly calms down once he hears you whimper and break down.Â
You cry apologies against his shoulder which he quickly hushes. âItâs okay, weâll get you whatever help you need. Just donât do this to me, sweetheart.âÂ
MacCready
âWoah, hey! What the hell are you doing?!âÂ
Mac grabs your arm in anger, spinning you around to him. Thatâs when he sees your tear-stained face. You start crying harder upon seeing his anger and literally break down. However, Mac quickly catches you and pulls you against him in shock.Â
âItâs okay,â he says, his anger already long gone. âItâs okay, just talk to me please. What happened?âÂ
Mac will be worried sick about you and ask around everywhere for help. It doesnât matter if he has to walk all the way to the Mojave with you, he will get you whatever help you need.Â
Nick
Nick feels instantly guilty when he stumbles upon you about to commit suicide. Heâs always acknowledged your pain, but he also always kept the conversations about it short. He hid his own pain by focusing on helping others, and he now realizes he pushed you to do the same, even though you were really the one who needed help.Â
He says your name quietly, grabbing your attention. âIs there anything I can do to make things better for you?âÂ
You can't answer that, because if you knew of a way to make things better, you wouldnât be in this position right now. But the fact that he asks, that someone cares causes you to break down and you are unable to execute your plan at the moment. Nick takes this as his chance to take you in his arms. âLetâs go see doctor Sun.âÂ
Preston
âSole? What are you doing?âÂ
Preston will be in tears just seeing what you are about to do. Heâs told you about his own suicidal thoughts before, so why had you not trusted him enough to do the same? He has your back, do you not know that?Â
Seeing how badly he is hurting, you canât go through with it at that moment, so instead you run to him and hide in his arms, crying. âIâm sorry.âÂ
âI donât understand⌠Why? Why did you never tell me?âÂ
X6-88
Another companion who will forcefully stop you. X6 doesnât think heâs the right person for you to talk to about what you are going through, so he takes you back to the Institute without a word and drags you over to doctor Volkert.Â
You might think heâs mad at you, but in reality, heâs experiencing âpanicâ for the first time in his life and it almost causes him to stop functioning altogether.

What would be their reaction to sole survivor's obsession with collecting stuffed animals? (Like the teddies or sloths.) Especially if they insisted some of the stuffed animals be in bed with them while they sleep. (If they are romantic partners)
Thank you for requesting!
Cait:
Cait will get annoyed fast, whether Sole is actively looking for them or just picking them up as they see them, it is both a waste of time and space in their backpacks to be carrying around anything that isnât food, ammo or weapons. Her reaction therefore will be largely the same as when you pick up junk, and sheâll refuse to carry anything Sole handed them if the stuffed animals are the only reason Sole canât carry it themselves.
Taking them to bed: No focking way. Sheâll kick them out at first, but if Sole is persistent in putting them back, she might end up liking the extra softness â not that sheâll admit it.
Codsworth:
Codsworth wonât blink an eye at first, but as he notices the stuffed animals keep piling up and their living space is becoming a mess, heâll carefully try to ask Sole what they are for. When Sole looks him dead in the eyes without saying anything in response, heâll awkwardly back off with a fake hearty laugh.Â
Curie:
âYou already picked up that same one before, no? Is there some sort of reward for collecting them?â Curie will ask all excitedly. When you tell her that the stuffed animals somehow comfort you, sheâll back off a bit. Thereâs something about you that tells her youâre not quite ready to talk about it yet.Â
Taking them to bed: âOh, this is very uncomfortable. How can you sleep like this?â The need for sleep is still new to Curie. It took her a while to get used to lying still in bed trying to drift off and itâs still not easy for her, so the random stuffed animals poking her from all sides donât help. Sheâll try to shove them your way, but always somehow misses one.Â
Danse:
âSole, this is an absolute waste of space! Get rid of them, at once!âÂ
âNo,â Sole would growl back.Â
âThatâs an order, soldier!âÂ
âTake your order and shove it! This isnât military business, Danse, this is personal!âÂ
Though he doesnât understand what you mean exactly, Danse will be a bit more lenient with you, sometimes even going as far as letting you collect them without a single complaint. It was rare though.Â
Taking them to bed: âIs this really necessary?â When you tell him it absolutely is, heâll sigh but leave it be, only getting really annoyed if they come in between you two when heâs trying to snuggle up to you.Â
Deacon:
âOh sure, when you wanna pick up teddy bears itâs okay, but when I pick something up itâs âuselessâ and a âwaste of spaceâ.â
âYou were picking up human skulls!âÂ
âHey, I had plans for those.âÂ
Taking them to bed: Deacon wonât complain, but the moment youâre fast asleep, heâll throw them all out and pretend to be sleeping like a little angel. If you wake up and ask him where your teddy bears are, heâll just innocently roll into you and wrap his arms around you. âIâm right here.â
âNot what I meant, Deacon.â
âAnd yet, you suddenly realize that I am, in fact, the only teddy bear youâll ever need.â
You scoff but wrap your arms around him as well. âYouâre the worst.â
Gage:
Have you ever seen someone whoâs just absolutely done with life? Yeah, thatâs Gage the fifth time heâll find you down in Nuka-Worldâs arcade instead of clearing out the park with him.Â
âFor the love of- Boss! We need to talk.â Oh, he is pissed.Â
âLater, Gage, Iâm-â
âNothing later,â heâll say and grab your arm, roughly spinning you away from the machine so youâre looking at him. âMy life depends on how well you do as Overboss, so get your shit together already!âÂ
Taking them to bed: No. Plain and simple, it just isnât happening. It would make him look soft and he canât have that. If you insist, heâll threaten you with some form of punishment like sleeping separately, no sex, or whatever he knows will affect you.Â
Hancock:
Hancock is easily the most patient with you (besides Curie, of course). The first few times, he doesnât think anything of it. When it happens more frequently, he starts to get worried but doesnât say anything to you at the moment. Only when you get back to the Old State House does he carefully bring it up.Â
âSo, Sunshine, wanna tell me what the story is behind these?âÂ
Taking them to bed: Sure, as long as it doesnât hinder his ability to cuddle you to sleep.
Longfellow:
Heâll comment on its uselessness as most other companions do, but you know Longfellow is almost permanently drunk, so you take advantage of his lowered state of alertness to pick up the stuffed animals without him noticing. Heâll eventually find out when he tries to share some rations with you, only for them to spill out of your backpack when you try to store the food away. The instant look of disappointment is hard to miss as Longfellow wonders what it was about you again that made him sign up to be your guide.Â
MacCready:
âUh, are you sure, boss? OkayâŚâÂ
You are paying him so he kind of has to just let this go, right? He thinks itâs weird for sure, but itâs also not his place to comment on it. Once you two are closer and the deal with Barnes and Winlock is over, heâll grow annoyed a lot faster.Â
âOh come on, leave it! Itâs useless!âÂ
Heâll be annoyed if you donât listen to him, but thereâs nothing much he can do. He will refuse to carry them himself though - unless you pay him to.Â
Taking them to bed: Heâll complain nonstop. âIs this really necessary?â âUgh, theyâre poking me from all sides!â âHow can you sleep like this?â You might have to get rid of the teddy bears just so heâll shut up, and only then will he notice that he actually liked having them around.Â
Nick:
Big sigh. âKid, I swear, the more I travel with you, the more I wonder how the hell youâve lasted this long out here.â And heâll make snarky remarks. âYou know, kid, weâd move a lot faster if we didnât have to stop every 20 meters.â âHow many until youâre satisfied? Iâll keep count so I know when the suffering can end.âÂ
Taking them to bed: Nick doesnât sleep. Sometimes he lies down with you if you want him to and having the stuffed animals there wonât change that, though he might complain about them like a grumpy old man.Â
Piper:
âPriorities, Blue! Ugh!âÂ
Sheâll comment on it a few times. If it keeps happening, sheâll stop you and try to talk to you about it. Whether you share your reason with her or not is up to you, but if you donât, sheâll make a lot more comments, trying to make you slip up and tell her something.Â
âYou know, if we die here, Iâd love to see the face of the poor wastelander who ends up finding our corpses. How will they give meaning to the mystery that is the bag full of teddy bears? What do you think, Blue?â Â
Taking them to bed: She doesnât really want it, but she wonât complain as much as the others. Most of the time, sheâll like having the extra softness around, but other times she just wants to snuggle up to you and if the stuffed animals get in the way, theyâll have to go.Â
Preston:
Preston doesnât understand what youâre trying to achieve with it and heâll try to carefully breach the topic with you. âThatâs a lot of stuffed animals, General. Are you planning something?âÂ
Taking them to bed: Heâll toss and turn, getting annoyed at the teddy bears constantly getting in the way, but will wake up the next morning with one or more wrapped tightly in his arms. Maybe he could get used to this after all.Â
Strong:
âHuman stop!! No more soft things!!â Strong shouts angrily at you after already telling you three times over(!!) that he wants to see no more soft things!Â
âShut up, you dumb green brute! What do you know?!â Sole yells back in frustration.
âBah!â Strong proclaims loudly and leaves your company.Â
X6-88:
Says nothing, but reports back to Father that you are too unstable to become the next director.Â
Taking them to bed: Same as with Nick. He doesnât sleep and only joins you in bed if you ask him to. Heâll start to shove them aside if you tell him to join you, and when you stop him, heâll make you choose: do you want your bed to be filled with teddy bears or him?
I still have six requests in my inbox that Iâm working on right now.
After that (or in between, depends on what Iâm feeling like), Iâll take a look at older reactions Iâve written and try to make them better + add in Gage and Longfellow and reblog them.
Inbox remains open so feel free to send stuff my way!
Romanced companions react to Sole with a hotwife/cuckold/cuckquean fetish?
Thank you for requesting! Sorry, it took me literally over a year to write this... I left out the hotwife fetish because I don't think any of the companions would be into it.
Cait:
Absolutely not, and you better drop it immediately before this becomes a dealbreaker. Having sex with another man while you watch would remind her too much of her time being used as a slave and all those gross nights with some raiders. Cait might talk about anything sex-related nonchalantly, but thereâs a reason she started abusing drugs. She wants her relationship with you to be different. Threesomes are fine, but being watched feels too much like being a piece of meat put on display.Â
She also isnât into watching you have sex with someone else.Â
Curie:
Curie doesnât understand the appeal. She loves you, so she doesnât want to have sex with another man, and surely if you love her, you wouldnât want to have sex with another woman? It will take a lot of explaining for her to accept that it merely turns you on. If she decides to give one of the options a go, sheâll choose to watch you be with someone else, but sheâll end up hating it and be very upset with you for ever bringing it up.Â
Danse:
No. Asking him to watch you have sex with another guy will make him very angry because he really doesnât get what youâre trying to achieve. Are you trying to make him jealous? To rile him up? Because itâs working, only with a ton of added insecurities and doubts about your relationship on top of it. Same as with Curie, youâll have to spend a lot of time explaining the fetish to him before he calms down a bit and stops accusing you of not wanting to be with him anymore.Â
If you tell him you want him to have sex with someone else while you watch, he wonât be as angry, but heâll still be confused and refuse the offer, silently wondering at night why the hell youâd want to put yourself through that.Â
Deacon:
Deacon will laugh it off and pray that youâre just joking. Whether you want him to have sex with someone else while you watch or you want to have sex with someone else while he watches, neither option appeals to him, and heâll refuse. Unlike Danse and Curie, however, he will not bombard you with questions. Instead, heâll pretend you two never had the conversation at all, but this approach results in him having a lot of unanswered questions still on his mind. Late at night, while youâre already fast asleep in his arms, heâll try to understand what turns you on so much about it by imagining the different scenarios and⌠did his cock just twitch imagining you getting fucked by someone else while he jerks off?Â
Gage:
Instantly refuses but only really thinks about your suggestion later during the day. Itâll take him a few more days to come around to the idea, but heâll eventually bring it up someday after you two just had sex. âSo, you want to watch while I do this with some other chick?âÂ
However, he denies that he wants to do this because it arouses him. Instead, he tells himself he wants to make you regret asking for it, he wants to see you get jealous and admit how stupid a suggestion it was. That doesnât work out so well however because you were serious when you said it was a kink of yours. So instead, he has to watch you get off while his cock is destroying some random chickâs pussy, and it only makes him want to be inside of you more. So he quickly makes the girl cum, then finishes off buried deep inside of you anyway.Â
Itâll take longer for him to come around to the idea of you getting fucked by someone else, but heâll eventually give that a try too. Still, he prefers the sex to just be between the two of you.Â
Hancock:
Hancock has had no desire to have sex with someone else ever since he got together with you, but he quickly agrees to watching you get fucked by someone else. There are several rules that need to be followed though: 1: You keep eye contact with him throughout the entire thing. 2: His name is the only name leaving your mouth. And 3: You trash talk the guy afterward. Abide by these rules and everything will be fine, but break one - especially the second one - and Hancock wonât hesitate to interrupt your little session and switch the roles, making the other guy watch as he punishes you.Â
MacCready:
Spits out his drink and thinks (hopes) he misunderstood you, but when you assure him youâre serious, he scratches his head and wonders what the hell heâs even supposed to think of this.Â
âSo shit like that turns you on? Wh⌠What do you want me to say to that, Sole?âÂ
Heâs utterly confused, so you have to make sure he fully understands the situation, and then you let him take as much time as he needs to think things through.Â
Mac will be too jealous to let you have sex with another guy, but heâll eventually come around to having you watch him have sex with another woman. It gets him off, sure, heâs surrounded by two naked women after all: one heâs fucking and you, whoâs clearly enjoying the view. But something about the entire situation feels wrong to him. Sex is supposed to be just between the two of you. So afterward, he talks to you about it and you both decide to not do that over. He tried it, it just wasnât his thing.Â
Nick:
No.Â
Piper:
Piper canât decide whether sheâs more hurt or angry, regardless, sheâs not a fan. All of a sudden, all the women she sees you talk to make her feel jealous and she starts to think more seriously about having you watch her have sex with someone else. But much as with Gage, this is more a means to make you jealous than anything else. So when, one day, her eyes land on a particularly handsome guy that just sauntered into Diamond City, she takes you up on your offer after all. Sheâs surprised to see you were sincere about your kink, no matter how much you told her you were, and she canât deny how aroused she is by seeing you jerk off while her pussy is being penetrated by some other guy.Â
Maybe this could become more than a one-time thing after all.Â
Preston:
Preston is in shock when you ask if you can watch him have sex with another woman and wonât be able to hear your explanation anymore. You want to what? Why? And where was he supposed to find a second woman who wants to have sex with him? Yes, before even he was aware of it, he was already considering it. But then he remembers how awkward his first time with you was, and he really doesnât want a repeat of that.Â
If you ask him whether he wants to watch you have sex with someone else, heâll just feel betrayed by you. So in the end, his answer will be no regardless.Â
X6-88 (I always think of X6 as asexual, so Iâm rolling with it):
X6 really doesnât care about sex. He engages in it with you to keep you happy, but he could do fine without it. When you ask him whether you can watch each other have sex with other people, he feels like youâre pushing your luck.Â
âI donât see how that would benefit either of us.âÂ
Heâll refuse to have sex with another woman just to get you off - he can do that himself just fine, thanks. And though he agrees to let you have sex with someone else as he watches, itâs a really awkward experience for everyone as he just sits there, unimpressed and bored.Â
Can I request the companions over hearing sole admit they want to kiss/sleep with/be with them in a game of truth or dare?
Truth: if you could be with anyone in the settlement who would it be
Sole: Obviously (companion)! You know I love them
Thank you for requesting! I changed the truth or dare game to the companions just overhearing Sole talk about their feelings for them to a friend. It can still be read the same way though!
Cait:
Cait will have a field day. She wonât tell you she overheard you at all, but sheâll make a lot of comments trying to embarrass you or make you stutter. âWeâd move a lot faster if you kept your eyes on the road and off me arse!â âAdmiring the view, are you?â âDidnât know you cared that much about me.âÂ
Curie:Â
Instantly confronts you about your feelings because sheâs confused about her own.Â
Danse:
Before BB: Heâll berate you for being unprofessional, not at all thinking about whether he himself has feelings or not.Â
After BB: Heâll contemplate whether he should confront you about it or not. He respects and trusts you a lot and thereâs no one heâd rather be with than you, but he doesnât think himself worthy of you so heâll keep quiet.Â
Deacon:
Deacon will pretend like he didnât hear anything. Heâll act the exact same as heâs always acted around you, but he wonât be able to stop thinking about your words. And heâll hate it. Chances are, Deacon will try to find some excuse to distance himself from you for a while if not indefinitely.Â
Gage:
At first, Gage immediately thinks about how he can have some dirty fun with you, but he finds himself unable to act on it because he respects you too much. This confuses him and youâll find him often spacing while youâre talking to him.Â
Hancock:
Chuckles to himself and is very flattered, but he wonât mention anything to you unless he notices you acting differently around him. (Like if he suddenly notices that youâre acting shy whenever youâre with him.) Heâll tease you a bit when that happens, but he wonât take things further or mention your feelings for him (or his feelings for you) because he thinks itâs just a crush and that you deserve better than him. Â
MacCready:
Mac will be - like Hancock - flattered and amused, and he wonât be able to hide it. Heâll smirk at you, wink at the most random of times and make flirty jokes in a very unsubtle way. If you blush in response, heâll find it both hilarious and adorable. This can go on for a while before he finally confesses that he overheard your conversation. As you groan and hide your face in your hands in embarrassment, heâll pull you in his arms while laughing before he reassures you that you are adorable and that he feels the same. Â
Nick:
Sighs loudly. He had not expected this and he doesnât want things to become awkward or complicated. Without even thinking about his own feelings, heâll sit you down and talk about it, trying his best to let you down gently.Â
Piper:
Knowing Piperâs horrible âjournalismâ, she might just write an article exposing you.
Honestly, I think sheâll talk to you almost instantly, not even caring that youâll find out she was spying on you. She needs to know if youâre serious or not, because she is serious about you.Â
Preston:
In shock. Heâll tell himself to not mention to you that he overheard you, but every time he sees you, heâs reminded of it. Suddenly, he starts to look at you differently and notices that he too has feelings for you. Before he even notices, heâs spoken up: âGeneral, can I talk to you about something?âÂ

Companions react to Sole being stuck in a Pulowski Preservation shelter
Found this idea on this prompts list, and I wanted to give it a go. I ended up having so much fun writing this! However, in my reaction Dogmeat doesnât lead the Companion to Sole, how they find her is a mystery (purely because otherwise Hancockâs and Longfellowâs reactions donât work).
Cait:
âYouâve gotta be shitting me right now!â you hear Caitâs angry voice from outside the chamber. âHowâd you manage to get yourself stuck in there?! Better not be because you were running away from a fight!â
âHelpâŚâ
âJust give it a few good kicks!â
Codsworth:
âSir/Mum!â Codsworth calls out oh so worriedly. âAre you okay in there?! Hold on! Iâll call the firebrigade right away! One of the many virtues of having a mr. Handy around!â he says, laughing with fake cheer. His denial once again of the current state of the world immediately tells you heâs in panic mode.
 Curie:
âMadam/Monsieur? Are you in there?â
âYes, Curie and Iâm stuck! Help.â
âOh no! This is most unfortunate! How do you suggest I start this rescue mission?â
 Danse:
Speechless because heâs so disappointed in you.
âSoldier⌠justâŚ.â He sighs and decides itâs not worth it, so instead of wasting more time on words, he silently helps them out and then give them judgmental looks for the rest of the day.
 Deacon:
âHey, I ainât judging you. These things are great eavesdropping spots, you just gotta pick the right locations. And this one: not so good. Too close to Trinity Tower, unless you can decipher some intelligent code in the Super Mutants grunting. Never was able to myself.â
âThatâs great, Deacon. Can you get me out?â
âWhat? Oh yeah, pull the lever on your left.â
 Gage:
âBoss,â he starts but then stops for a second and breathes in deeply before heâd lash out in annoyance and disappointment. How was he supposed to put his faith in you as Overboss if you canât even figure out how to open the door of a Pulowski Shelter. âHow the hell did you get yourself stuck in there? You know what, no, I donât even wanna know. Just get out before one of the gangs finds out.â
 Hancock:
Thinks the drugs are making him hallucinate when he hears your voice but doesnât see you anywhere.
âThe jet will make you jittery,â he mumbles to himself and moves on. Only realizing later that day that you are nowhere to be found and he might not have been hallucinating after all.
 Longfellow:
Longfellow is too preoccupied with his drunken sailor songs to even hear your cries. And by the time he gets back to his cabin, he has probably forgotten he was with you at all, so chances are thereâd be no rescue for you.
 MacCready:
Mac is laughing his ass off. âOh man! I am never letting this one go.â
âPlease laugh after helping-.â
âI mean, howâd you even manage to get stuck in there in the first place?â
âMac-â
Youâll have to wait a few minutes before he gets serious about helping you get out of there. And even then, heâll probably get some laughter fits in between every now and then.
 Nick:
âKid, the situations you manage to get yourself intoâŚâ he sighs.
âHelp me, please.â
âAnd how do you expect me to do that? I donât see what you see! Iâm sure thereâs a lever or a button somewhere.â
 Piper:
âHm, interesting spot to crawl into, Blue. Tell me, what kind of secrets does it hold?â she says teasingly.
âYou tell me, I thought Iâd seen you hide in one of these once.â
Instantly her teasing tone changes as she feels caught. âWell, y-yeah, but thatâs for my job!â
âYeah, that makes it better, Piper.â
 Preston:
âGeneral, why were you in there in the first place?â
ââŚRecon.â
âHm. So what did you discover?â Preston says, sounding amused.
 Strong:
âHuman should not hide!! Human weak!â
âJust get me out already, big guy.â
And he will, by ripping the shelter in two.
 X6-88:
âSir/Maâam, what were you looking for in there?â
âThatâs not important, X6! Just help me get out.â
âI would recommend teleporting back to the Institute, that should solve the issue.â
What are the companions reactions to twin soles (so, technically not soles??) who finish each other's sentences and just do Creepy Twin Shitâ˘.
Thank you for the request! Now that I read it again, however, I didn't do what you asked for... your request made me think of the twins on TLC who constantly try to talk in unison but are terribly bad at it, and I went with that, sorry! Still hope you like it because I had so much fun writing this! (Also sorry for taking literal years to write this)
Cait:
Cait will be instantly annoyed at it and is not afraid to let them know.
âYeah, quit that already, itâs not cute.â
Codsworth:
If this is a new post-war thing, Codsworth will be very concerned, but heâll just laugh it off awkwardly whenever it happens.
âYes⌠haha⌠thatâs right, sirs/mums.â
Curie:
Plain confused: âWhy do you do that? Why not just listen to what the other has to say?â
Danse:
Danse will be creeped out, but heâll try to hide it by sounding annoyed instead. However, he will most likely not offer the twins a spot on his team in Cambridge.
Deacon:
Heâs heard tales of the twins, but only good stuff, so you can imagine the disappointment when they come knocking on the Railroad doors only to discover that they are actually weirdly off-putting.
âAh man, if only you were actually good at speaking in sync, imagine the things we could pull off. Well anyway, welcome to our little freakshow, and I think you, my friend, might just top Tinker Tom.â And heâd silently add a sarcastic "hurray".
Gage:
âLook, we canât have two Overbosses, thatâs not how it works,â Gage says, already full-on annoyed that even the very start of his new Overboss plan didnât go according to plan.
âWe do a- everything together. Weâre bas- basically one person.â
âWe do everything together. Weâre act- basically one person.â
The twins say in semi-unison, constantly looking at each other to make sure they say the same thing but still failing half the time.
âOh for the love of- cut that shit out! Why the hell did I help yaâll out against Colter?â
Hancock:
Hancock completely ignores the weird twin stuff, mostly because he thinks heâs so high on jet heâs hallucinating one of the two. The only thing is⌠if heâs hallucinating a second person, then why are they so bad at talking in unison?
Longfellow:
Longfellow has about enough of the twins the moment they first open their mouths. He wonât want to talk to them after that, but if he happens to cross paths with them, he wonât hesitate to insult them either.
âYou one of them lunatic rad freaks? Youâd fit right in.â
MacCready:
âYeah, whatever you say, boss, as long as I get my share of the money at the end.â He says at first, but after traveling with them for a spell, he wonât be able to handle it anymore and part ways â not even caring if he gets his money or not.
Nick:
Deep, irritated sigh. âWe get it, you two are twins. What more do you have to prove to anyone?â
Piper:
Absolutely flabbergasted during the interview. Piper is unsure whether she should say anything about this weird behavior or not, she decides to stay quiet and stares at her notes from the interview in semi-shock and with a heap of regret.
Preston:
âSo which one of you is going to be the general?â
The twins look at each other.
âWe wou- will only become general if we can do it together.â
âWe will- will only be⌠become general if we can do it together.â
Preston will be speechless for a moment. His first instinct is to explain why that isnât possible, but he quickly realizes any such attempt will be futile anyway and gives up.
Strong:
It can either go one or two ways here. Either he's focused on them being twins which he'll perceive as something positive: "Humans look alike! Like Strong and brothers look alike! Good!
Or he's focused on the talking, which (as we all know) is bad: âHumans talk too much! Humans should fight!â
X6-88:
âSo which one of you is Fatherâs parent?â
âWe are both his mother.â
âWe are both his mother.â
The twins say with much difficulty in syncing their lines. X6-88âs disappointment was immeasurable, but he sure was glad Father had been taken away from his mother(s?) and was raised inside the Institute instead. If Father insisted on keeping the twins around, X6-88 would question Father's objectivity, but he would follow orders as always and keep his opinion to himself.
