The expectation that black people should also fight for equality for non-black POC when most POC are anti-black is baffling to me.

The white guy only asked how many Asian American writers he had on Empire to try to derail. Like why should Asian Americans be writing African American stories? They’re gonna get it wrong and it’s going to be minstrelsy. That is an example of white people’s understanding of diversity. “We have to have everyone just write for everyone; Men should write for women, Asian Americans should write for African Americans. It’s about everyone being equal including the oppressors, not real representation”
