So let’s go a bit more in depth into what happened:

The Chronicle Herald, a major paper in Halifax, Nova Scotia, published an article which reported some bullying that was taking place at Chebucto Heights School, where many Muslim refugee kids are attending. 

The bullying consisted of Muslim youth ganging up on and attacking Canadian kids – Specifically, a major incident including a girl being choked by some Muslim boys who were shouting ‘Muslims will rule the world!’.

The Herald initially pulled the line about what the boys were shouting, and toned down their references to the kids being refugees. There was so much outrage from pro-refugee circles, however, that they eventually pulled the entire article, replacing it with an apology to the Muslim/refugee community.

Both HuffPo Canada and The Herald stated that the reason it was pulled was because there was no evidence the happenings ever took place… Which is hilarious… Because the original article includes both actual interviews with the girl in question’s mother, and Chebucto Heights confirming what happened.

The Halifax School Board, however, has said that no parents have come forward at all… Just.. Not even true.

Of course HuffPo’s main concern was ensuring people knew how ‘harmful’ and ‘damaging the article was’. 

Also, how super scary it was that people with the word ‘jihad’ and ‘crusade’ in their Twitter handles were following the story.

So the evidence was ignored and scrubbed. But The Rebel, an independent news station here in Canada that was bullied off of cable subscription by the Government-owned state broadcaster for being too conservative, managed to catch up with the mother and conducted another interview, in which she said:

We went up on Friday to talk to the principal about the choking with the necklace, she said that her hands are tied. She said that she’s been fighting with her supervisor to get interpreters up there because she couldn’t contact those kids’ parents. And was here Friday. It’s been a whole week that that wasn’t addressed.

Yesterday my daughter was slapped in the face again by the exact same boy. Again. We got called up to the school and they had an interpreter in there yesterday and she said, the interpreter said, the little boy just wants to fit in.
