And here we are again, for the post-season finale comments. I think it's my farewell ritual for each generation, writing this so I can let it go and starting to think about the next protagonist. In any case, let's talk about Sophia Jang and how difficult this generation was to play
Not because the challenge was too hard, on the contrary: instead of just fulfilling the requirements, I invented some more, such as making Sophia maxed the skills of mixology and gourmet, in addition to being the owner of food-related ventures, such as a conceptual restaurant and having her own patisserie. I also created a wine bar that was actually more Joshua's than hers, but I still liked to think it was Sophia's venture. Just like with Sunmi, I wanted to explore the possibilities within Sophia's affinities. Her being just a chef didn't seem enough; the girl was a leo heiress, you know, you can't put limitations on a person like that.
But it was difficult to play because Sophia was pregnant all the time. Yes, all the time.
When I started the gameplay, there were only the twins Kevin and Lavander, and Sophia got along well with them; yeah, it was difficult because they were twins, but I managed to get her to explore her skills. And then after Max, the first baby, things started to get out of control because Sophia managed to reach the top of her career before he became a toddler, so I started investing in patisserie. But how do you do that with a sim who needs to breastfeed every hour because the baby won't stop crying? It was insane!
When the fourth pregnancy arrived, I had decided that regardless of what came, it would be the last baby. I was fed up: I was managing the small business and the restaurant at that point, and everyone who played with these systems knows how difficult it is to reach 5 stars. Doing that during Sophia's pregnancies was a HUGE rush. And then came the notification of twins thanks to Pandasama's realistic pregnancy mod and I almost freaked out. Because in total, there would be five children - Kevin and Lavander had already moved out as they had become young adults.
Some bug happened, then, and instead of twins being born, triplets were born. And I started experiencing absurd lag in the San Myshuno apartment. It got to the point where I kept Sophia in the small business taking care of one baby at a time. It was stressful and part of the reason I decided what I decided for the next generation. But I won't tell you now, you'll see when the time comes. But that’s how Sabrina was born. A little bug. I thought that was funny, seeing in the big picture right now.
Another adventure: I started using the HealthRedux mod, and the children all got sick in the fall. And that’s when one of the triplets died of pneumonia. It was too scary, and once again I refused to let that happen. The toddler's death froze the game, and I took it as a sign not to finish it. No, enough of problems and sadness so close to my reality; in this gameplay, our children remain happy and healthy. That was the moment I decided I needed to divide the family somehow. It wasn't possible to take care of so many children at the same time, but at the same time I needed to make sure those children reached a certain age healthy. So I had to be very creative. You'll see soon.
But speaking of more heartwarming things: it was the first time I collaborated with one of my best friends during the game. Mimi Ito is owned by @padosulsul, created by her many years ago and given to me to be Sebastian's endgame. It was an experience for both of us; we usually just tried to reproduce each other's characters in our saves, but here she was officially given, just as Sebastian exists in her save. The lady from the Tudor family that appears in the final moments of this season was also created by her and I am very grateful for another collaboration. We'll see other characters of hers in the save in the future, but I'll let you know when the time is right. Once again, thank you for everything, my friend, you're the best!
Now… Regarding the decision to use Formula 1 as a time stamping of Sophia and Joshua's relationship: The beginning of a dream, everything went wrong! Just kidding. Sort of. At first, it seemed easy, I could put the races as bullet points of the passage of time. It turns out that editing all the racing status charts and the races themselves started to become overwhelming. And don't get me wrong, citing the situations seems easier, but as a fan of this sport I know how much detail can define each result, each classification. So I was torn between remaining as the beginning of the gameplay, explaining the details of each race that resulted in that final status, and ending the story without giving importance to these topics. In the end, I did what I could, before I followed the urge that arose every time I thought about the hard work of staging the races and abandoned everything. At least I fulfilled my desire to see my Ferrari at the top.
The SBL save is still one of my favorites, I'm currently taking my first steps in the fifth generation and I'm already eager to share everything with you. So, see you in the next era!
