to anyone in the areas impacted by the wildfire smoke, my #1 biggest piece of advice as someone whos been dealing with wildfire smoke in the NW united states for years, is build yourself a Corsi-Rosenthal Cube

they perform as well as expensive HEPA air cleaners, and are comparatively VERY inexpensive. all you need is a box fan, 4 air filters, a piece of cardboard, and some duct tape!!!!

i think it took us maybe a half hour to put ours together, if that, and we replace the filters every 3 months. it's really made a HUGE difference, both when the air quality is bad, but also with our allergies

What's a meta?

The optimal play pattern in a game, where a game is considered mostly 'solved' as a puzzle of game theory.

And actually it's not that games with a meta are bad, it's that interacting with players who are meta slaves is unfun. Not that they're toxic, although some of them are that too, but that by playing for pure optimization they take out the fun of engaging in something as a game.

It's like playing chess with the bros where everyone's figuring out eachothers play style versus a stranger that puts all your moves through a chess app AI except instead of copying chess moves they copy a deck list or spam build one kind of RTS unit
