If you’re referring to the incident in Valedor, Yriel didn’t hurt it in any meaningful way.

The Hive Mind is the psychic amalgam formed from the collective minds and intelligences of every Tyranid, right? And the Spear of Twilight is a cronesword that tries to drain, consume and burn the psychic presence/soul of whatever it stabs. So when Yriel stabs a Tyranid with the spear, it tries to drain the Hive Mind into the spear. The Hive Mind doesn’t like it, recoils and gets angry, but Yriel has to stop almost immediately because he’s going to be overwhelmed and destroyed by the sheer scale of what the spear is attempting to draw in.

"Everything is canon, not everything is true" is a vapid excuse for GW being historically bad at managing its IPs' narrative consistency and nothing more. It's not a clever statement, it's not a gotcha, it's a way for people to handwave overlooking things and render bad writing obsolete when needed. Not only does the statement hold no meaning, but it also defeats the entire point of striving for narrative consistency at all. We know that the statement is bullshit, because GW itself has taken BIG strides in the last decade to unify, organise and generally collate overarching narratives into something more coherent. Wiggling your fingers like a court jester and going "oooooooo everything is real AND false! Care about the writing!" is dopey.

Anyway, the overall way to observe canon, modernly, is mostly by eyeballing it. The most recent codexes and rulebooks generally overwrite older sources, and things that haven't come up in 20 years but have since been contradicted multiple times probably aren't correct anymore.

You would… still die horribly? Tyranid meat is poisonous. Decidedly poisonous. That’s our baseline. On top of that, they tend to have repositories and distribution systems for venoms, bio-acids and phage cells threaded throughout their bodies. On top of that, Tyranid bioforms often contain smaller simple bioforms that will do shit like secrete acid or explode or attack you or otherwise make interfering with the larger bioform corpses a bad idea. To top it all off, Tyranid meat is implied to be sinewy and tough.

Even the Kroot, masters of eating other species, are forbidden from consuming Tyranid flesh because it rapidly mutates them and causes them to start “hearing” the Hive Mind. Astartes can straight up die if they eat the wrong bit of Tyranid meat.

Not a lot would happen, honestly. We have multiple examples of Tyranids going into the Warp for one reason or another and popping out again just fine. Even something as simple as chaos mutations on bioforms is extremely rare. I mean, hell, one time Tyranids (Kraken, I think) were fighting Aeldari and a warp storm randomly spat out another hive fleet which was both entirely okay and immediately started joining up with the one that was already there. The Hive Mind has even adapted Hive Fleet Kronos specifically to eat daemons.

The Warp does not like the Hive Mind. Daemons do not like the Hive Mind. Non-chaos factions don’t want Tyranids going into the Warp because it means that a hive fleet will pop out of nowhere, at random, and go about its business.

I think that their interactions with each other are definitely abnormally familiar, given how little time, objectively, they actually spend together. However, I also think said abnormality is accounted for by the fact they're all weird warp-people begot of the same root processes, and that we see multiple points where they sense each other/recognise each other for being similar/feel innate familiarity with each other.

It's definitely weird, but it's also established that they're weird, and all share what is almost a literal wavelength of weird.
